Jack, the Russians, unfortunately, live on Earth, but they sure create a lot of problems for Earthlings. The title of this article suggests that Russia somehow supports Iranian intransigence. Unfortunately it will become another opportunity for those folks out there who see American aid to Israel as the problem. Well, this time I think that those opposed to American tax dollars being given to Israel are right. The Israelis say they can go it alone, and I think they should. They can go it alone without our aid. We should also cut off aid to every other country on this earth. Let the rest of the world look to Russia and China for their handouts. I wish Israel good luck and godspeed with the devils in Tehran.

Having been warned of an imminent attack by Israel, it would not be unreasonable for Iranians to deny access to nuclear sites to inspectors who may well be acting as spies to map underground facilities for targeting for the "bunker busters".
From what I have been reading, Israel has changed tack and gone from one trying to appease the international community while planning behind closed doors for a strike to an all out, "We do what we need to survive" posture which in my opinion means they made the decision to strike and are now waiting for the opportune moment.

Where you buy oil is irrelevent it's price is set by world production. Even though we buy most of our oil from Canada and Mexico we pay world price or they'll sell elsewhere. As for our exporting oil we only export refined products as many countries dont have the ability to refine oil so we refine it and sell the end product.Nothing nefarious about it.
And the selling of the refined product is best around for the American economy. It means jobs for US citizens for a product that is just burnt at the end. It is the equavalent of selling a car to other companies rather than selling them the steel and buying their cars to use.
I'm so sick of people bitching about what the price of oil will be if things escalate.

If they are going to strike I would suggest do in now before Iran holds elections. This will postpone the elections and give the Iranian people a chance to think about who they want in charge.
Russians are getting desperate to not lose a partner they sell a lot of weapons to. Let's be honest, due to russias help, the west is now forced to up its timetable to deal with IRAN.
Russia was stonewalling IRAN on a number of issues, until USA decided to go ahead with its missile defense program, which in turn russia punished the west by finishing a nuclear reactor, and selling contraversial anti-missile systems and among other help in the nuclear sector. Now the results of this will be a bombed IRAN, and again russian technology will not prevent anything and look inferior again.
Isreal is taking the right response, and should not wait for USA to make it's desision for them. After all, IRAN can drive a bomb up to thier border and let it off and then claim they had no idea who did it.
Sanctions have not and will not work, Obama knows this, they are now just being used to make the innevitable attack easier to deal with, if everyone has to shore up new oil resources ahead of time, makes it easier when the bombs start dropping.
IRAN has been preparing for an attack for almost a decade, compared to any other country in a while, IRAN is more prepared against attack by the west and will be much more difficult to deal with.
Of course Israel could just NUKE IRAN, and be done with it.

I dont see where Israel is considering Iran an immediate, imminent and impending threat. What I do see is a lot of media hype, paranoia, and backpeddling. Israel is right in that it is none of Russia's business. But, it is certainly our business, because, Iran will pull us into the fray as tho we were the ones striking them. How stupid are Obama and Clinton? Economic santioncs do not work against an oil-export country like Iran! The world had a no-fly zone over half of Irag, and all kinds of sanctions but Saddam remain defiant for several years. Israel usually finishes what it starts. It does not need the U.S. to finish anything it starts. This is always in their planning never to be dependent on other countries doing your protective job. Israel usually finishes what it starts. True, when they attack weak countries with overwhelming American air power. Iran is not as weak as Lebanon, Iraq or Syria and are as well prepared as they can be, because Israel has been threatening them for at least 10 years.
If Israel decides to attack, which I believe they will not, due to the threat of counter attacks. Israel is loathe to lose it's precious soldiers, which would happen if they try to go it alone. Hell, Israel fled from Lebanon like whipped dogs, after attempting to fight with Hezbollah on the ground. The IDf was no match for "freedom fighters" of Hezbollah.
No need to waste time on negotiations any longer. Russia and China signed deals with Iran for oil. They both have certain interests that are in Iran. Not shocked since they do not want to choose sides if Israel bombs Iran and the US are pulled into the frey. Russia, like the US have kept a nuclear arsenal. But sooner or later, Iran is going to reveal a nuclear weapon. We all know it and they will use it immediately. So Russia has to play the middle guy. If Iran is attacked and the country is in chaos, then Russia will have to secure their own interests. By siding with Iran. Too much is at stake for Russia.
