I agree, decades of failed leadership have driven our economy into a sh it pile and a balance trade will help dig us out. Not to mention the competition will help boost our technology. The more competitive the market the more people will push to make better products as seen in the 1960's with the space race, Microsoft vs Apple and so on. basically a market of competitors will grow our technology and maybe our economy.

The visit was a set piece show by two show piece politicians. Only one claims to have achieved anything of substance from the visit.

China's leader-in-waiting heads home happy after a little Laker magic

The heading clearly indicates that this little Chinese Prince-ling - President in Waiting - has gotten himself into lot of trouble and awaits problem when he reaches home. Chinese Communist party hierarchy doesn't want you / him to come back home happy. They want you to come home with anger and lot of bragging.

In tomorrow's headline in Chinese Daily we are likely to read the following: "Former Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping entered the American Embassy in Beijing requesting asylum in the US and the compound has been surrounded by Chinese military and police in plainclothes."

Dick...Really? Well thought out?This is an article that suggest that L.A. has a better way of dealing with China than the current administration.

As far as I can tell, all the current administration has done is talk about changing and complain about the previous 3 administrations. No real results. They blame all that on existing treaties. So did the others before them.

The smoke and mirrors is a tradition in Washington. If it isn't good it is the last guys work that did it and not the lack of current work by the in house guys. If it IS good then ALL the credit goes to a single party or man.....how naive they must think we are. Nothing leaves congress as a national plan without votes from both sides.....trade agreements are suggestions, and so are Treaties UNTIL ratification by Congress, and sometimes that is never or is done well after the writer leaves office.

Why do you suppose Dick Cheney is one of my kind? I have not stated a party affilation. Your presumption that I am Republican because I stated our entire government is incompetent speaks volumes. If Dick Cheney did indeed state that deficits don't matter, I believe he is totally wrong, as I have mentioned in my previous post. As far as running for office, I would not get very far, as I have too integrity for such a position. The few times I have been invloved in politics, whether on school boards or in private business, I could not play the political game, hence me being a thorn in the side of those who needed me for their political agendas. It is far worse in Congress which is why we should vote everyone of them out and start over; unless of course you think they are doing a phenomenal job and are very happy with the current situation our country is in right now.

This country has flaws, and it will only get right when people commit effort instead of attitude. Royal has only one part, attitude.

The truth is that we have a global economy and the Chinese have employees who work for less and generally have a lower standard of living. That is hard to beat when you just look at ovehead cost and apply our own Capitalist economy. These guys do not need the trade from China, they just want the cheapness.
