How about 24 years?
Wow, you're being much more charitable than I'd be. This dreadful woman stole a young woman's entire lifetime with her family, which only recently could begin at age 24. She not only stole the girl's family's ability to raise her and see her grow to womanhood, she put the family through the worst hell possible, not knowing her whereabouts or if she was alive or being abused, for more than two decades. I'm an anti-death penalty liberal on most days, but sorry, for this case I'd put her in a cell and toss the key. She can come out when she stops breathing.
I wouldn't argue 24 years w/ no possibility of early release.

She stole someone's baby and they and their family lost out on her entire childhood? The kidnapper deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison.
Of course she's connected to the family, that's who she grow up knowing. It's in her psyche. She's still a victim. That's absurd.
Speaks of the kidnapped child as the victim and that's true, but the biological parents are also very much victims. It's a troubling case not least because the offender would seem to have been had some emotional mental problems.
