The cops have to be armed to the teeth these days. The bad guys are arming themselves with everything from a peashooter to a RPG,. Why should the Cops be expected to use only 9mm against thugs and criminals who could be armed with an assault rifle with armour piercing bullets?
If you are going to live by the gun the chance of dying by the gun increase 10 fold. American Dreams and Gary K sounds like you guys are withholding information about drug dealers being involved. You guys should step forward with any and all information you have or you could under US laws be held guilty for murder and witholding evidence. Be the good little citizens now and come forward.
