Tea Party-linked activists sense UN plot in attempts to make US go green
Seeded on Sat Feb 4, 2012 6:57 AM EST (msnbc.com)

More N.Y.T. propogandist drivvel!!
Agreed this is just a liberal hit job onthe Tea Party ''The protests date to 1992'' {failed} no Tea Party in 1992, and though I am not a member of the Tea Party I whole heartedly agrre I do not want US> govt policy influenced by The UN!
Here is the Tea Party Manifesto as defined by the Tea Party Patriots
The only "Greens" in most of the "green movement" is the green of envy and the green that comes to those with unlimited power
u'all hit the nail right on its corrupt elitist un head!
Latest fad make up stuff and blame the tea party. Maybe they should write a article that says the tea party wants to bring back slavery.
Some of these people seem to be a little off their rocker with their conspiracy theories. The article is definitely a liberal hit job against the Tea Party since they talk about Tea Party back in 1992 and it did not even exist back then. Plus, these conspiracy nuts are definitely not representative of the mainstream Tea Party movement. The Tea Parties stated principles do not even mention the UN. They are about reducing the size of the federal government and reducing government intrusion into our daily lives. I am not a Tea Party member but do consider my self to be a little right of center. I tend to be a fiscal conservative but do not subscribe to the right wing social aspects of the Tea Party. For one thing I think that the law should be pro-choice, even though I personally do not believe in abortion except in certain circumstances like rape, incest, or to protect the health of the mother. I just think that this is a personal decision that the government should stay out of. People should be free to make their own decisions about what is right for them. I guess that is my general principle on social issues. If the choice being made does not effect anyone other than the person making it, then government should stay out of that decision.
In stead of blaming the Tea party look at Obama - Check out the following link that nails it on the head with Obama standing on the constitution:
http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/2012/02/03/controversial-artist-depicts-obama-trampling-the-constitution/
JS in SD said,
If you "personally" do not believe in abortion, you need to ask yourself, "why not?" Either it is repugnant or it is not. As far as the "effect" it has on another, I'd say the effect of the unborn's death is paramount.
You ever wonder why green and gullible start with the same letter? The UN is a terrorist organization, their goal has long been the elimination of the sovereignty of the Unites States. They should be expelled, we should opt out. Tear down that ugly building, and put up a comedy club, for the sake of continuation.
I see the article has hit a nerve with those that advocate the TEA Party movement of greed and war on the poor. Now it's coming to light that some are even flakier than previous believed by believing that conserving energy is a conspiracy to take their rights. Where were they when the members of their beloved party passed the PATRIOT Act?
One EASY question! What do Tea Party Members and Chicken Little have in common?
That's a pathetic lie. The only ones who can define the Tea Party are it's members, otherwise we get to define you. I'm Tea Party and I have 10KW of solare modules on my roof. If you are a typical progressive, my guess is you have zero.
The poor have done worse since democrats took over congress and far worse since Obama was elected. No amount of leftist propaganda can cover that up.
If you want to say we are all like the weirdest fringe on the right, we get to say you are all like the weirdest fringe on the left. Isn't that fair?
The Tea Party was began under Bush BECAUSE of the Patriot Act and TARP. Saying otherwise is a blatant lie, exposed by the article itself.
p111,
FACT, the poor have ALWAYS done better in our country under a Democratic Administration than under the Republicans, for the last 100 years! All a person has to do is look at the legislation which was passed under each respective administration! Please, no more emotional statements just give us the FACTS and sound critical reasoning! I'm NOT calling you a lier, as you called others, but I will say you are either uninformed or denying the truth!
As usual, the Tea Partiers rally to carry water for Big Business, even when it hurts their fellow Americans.
After months of holding second place to OWS, the Tea Party officially comes roaring back to the top of the "crazy movement" competition!
Larry
The Tea Party began BECAUSE of the Patriot Act! The lamestream media would have us believe that it didn't start untill 2009. Not true! It began in 2007, had Obama governed, as many believed he would, from the center the movement would have probably died out. His far left governance just dramatically increased their ranks in 2009!
Here we go again with the Tea Party (aka Koch Bro party) "hit job" BS. The article states that the protests against "Agenda 21" started in 1992 NOT that the Tea party started in 1992. Where did you folks learn to read? In addition, the UN's supposed "new world order" conspiracy theory is about as valid as the theory that the mason's are trying to take over the world.
Smart meters simply track the amount of energy used and at what times it is used. If you read your electricity bills there is such a thing as peak hours where the price per KWhour increases. The use of smart meters will eventually help the owners of the generation stations as well as the owners of the transmission lines better determine when to increase generation and to perform maintenance on the lines.
Why are bike lanes bad? Whenever a climate change issue comes up the most frequently used argument by the deniers is "well why don't stop using your car then?". Bike lanes provide a means for people who do not use cars to get to and from work so they can reduce their carbon footprint. I happen to be one of those people and I live in Seattle where the weather is "sunny" 350 days out of the year (sarcasm).
AMF tea party conspiracy theorists
p111, you slam others for telling a "blatant lie" all the while you say this crap:
That, in itself, is a blatant lie. The Tea bag movement did not begin until Feb 2009 when it planned and held its first "tea parties" There was not a peep from you nutsacks when Bush signed the Patriot Act and TARP. There also was no organization, such as the Oathbreakers when the Patriot act was signed. Both of these "organizations" began AFTER Obama was sworn in.
Paranoia and fear are great motivaters, especially when coupled with ignorance (which is where paranoia and fear come from in the first place, so it feeds on itself). Smart meters are essentail for future energy efficiency, and bike lanes are about the most harmless thing I can think of. This anti-government thing is a fetish, not even really an ideology.
Many of the posts here are just more evidence that the tea bag republicans are composed mainly of ignorant, gullible and misinformed bigots. I sincerely hope that they remove their heads from their anus, and realize the lies told by their right wing spin masters are doing this country no good.
If it was because of the Patriot Act, why wasn't the Tea bag party starated in 2001 with the passage of the Patriot Act. Why didn't they hold their first "tea bag parties" until 2009? And if it was because of the Patriot Act, wouldn't it be known as the PEA party? Since the "T" stands for Taxed?
Also, Obama was elected because of his "far left" ideas and has governed more to the center than most Progressives like.
I love how when specific Tea Party leaders, even as high up the chain as Newt Gingrich, are quoted on outright crazy views like this Agenda 21 crap... it's a "liberal hit piece".
Really? All I see are your teabag leaders and members mouthing tinfoil-hat conspiracy craziness as if it's fact.
If you don't like the negative coverage then stop making false and crazy claims. The rest of us see it for what it is and we'll discuss it whether tea people like it or not.
This is just the latest in a long line of outright loony ideas coming from your "movement", righties.
Don't you remember Obama's a socialist Kenyan muslim with a fake birth certificate? Don't you remember Obama backed Al Qaeda in a secret plan to take over Libya? I'm sure if I had the time I could list twenty or more examples.
@jsinsd-
Dear Close Reader:
The article did not say the TeaBaggers were protesting in 1992. At first it did not identify the protesters, then it identified them as Republickans.
That aside, the tea bagger party has always existed. They used to be called the John Birch Society, among other things, but they are simply the stupidest and most bigoted wing of the republickan party. Periodically, when some nitwit draws national attention to a catch phrase, they rename themselves. Then, when someone points out what the name means, they rename themselves again.
Dear Tea Party.
Is their NO end to your stupidity? Serious? Your protesting BIKE trails? You were founded by morons and hopefully you will eventually die off and be written off by later historians as a bunch of small minded neanderthals.
It must be nice to be a Liberal here on Newsvine, knowing that you are not bound by the COH
The funny thing here is that the liberal equivalent - Occupy - has been disowned by the liberal elite democrats! Talk about crazy people - why don't you get a tent and live with them? Why don't you volunteer more taxes to the government?
How far did you get in school their?
Before you call others stupid, you might want to review some basics in English. Learn the difference between "there" and "their," and "your" and "you're."
Is this a "twilight zone" episode?
The news is getting weird.
Sure sounds like one. And the first thread in this conversation is astonishing. It totally gives credence to the story they are trying to trash.
What are those people afraid of? Why is the United Nations such a threat? Why is supplying good public transportation or preserving the environment tantamount to treason in their minds?
Tea Party men and women: We are all in this together. Screw up the environment and private property will mean nothing. We can have all the money in the world; but if the world is poisoned, we are too!
Those who say "I hate the tea party" are really saying "I hate the concept of ever getting a job when I grow up and move off of mom's sofa." You are not entitled to live in a world of rainbows and unicorns. If you want to cut pollution, stop reproducing. Liberals that create more liberals to drag along to their little green rallies are the height of hypocrisy, These occupy folks need to put their efforts into creating opportunity, instead of trashing public parks paid for with my tax dollars.
Try not to put it in simplistic terms. It's not about protesting bike trails. It's about understanding central control versus local control. I for one would be concerned about an all powerful centralized government that had no accountability.
This is the fist that I have read about Agenda 21. The most disturbing piece of this article was the comment froma local official who said (paraphrasing - sorry) the best way to control comments from dissenters is to take away the mike and platform. I don't think stiffling debate is ever a good idea.
Robin, I'm over 70 years old with two homes and I hate the TEA Party for their all out greed. I've worked all my life and never hated paying my federal taxes. The local taxes I had to pay teed me off because I never lived there and thought it was taxes without representation but it was the price of having a job outside my residence. I paid my taxes because I loved my country and liked the direction it was going until G W Bush got in office. From there it was all down hill.
The TEA Party members remind me of those that cannot love anyone but themselves and their money. At least those I know personally and believe in my age group I know quite a few. The ones I see that are/were running for president actually scare the living hell out of me because they seem dead set of bringing this country down. You people blame Obama for a big government without taking into consideration that it was Bush that made the biggest increase in the federal government AFTER he lowered the taxes then you wonder why the federal budget is so high.
It just boggles my mind how the baby boomers have screwed up this country.
P.S. I'm not a baby boomer.
Once again, the Tea Baggers are like a dog chasing its own tail. They think that there is a problem but in reality they are the problem! They haven't a clue what the true issues are and they certainly provide NO REAL SOLUTIONS other than griping that the world is changing around them.
You know, this argument about "personal liberty" trumping everything really is starting to infringe on society's rights and the "general welfare". Being ignorant about progress in transportation design or building zoning is what got us with congestion, poor planning, lax zoning and a public beholden to oil and gas companies. It's created a litany of problems that urban planners are trying to SOLVE.
I study these issues and I am utterly shocked that THIS is what the Tea Party is getting their panties in a snit about? Bike lanes? Compreshensive public transportation? Of course they ignore the problem of cities spreading out so far due to lax development oversight. Well, guess what happens when we let developers build housing or generic, big box store infused "planned communities" outisde of existing city corridors? More TAXpayer burden because we have to pay to expand the infrastructure to accommodate their needs. More roads to build or expand, more sewer systems to maintain, more trash to pick up. We also tend to get our landfills closed becuase people move out so far away, which is usually near landfill centers, then they decide a few years later "hey, I live next to a landfill". They protest and then cities are forced to close their dump, which leaves SOCIETY with a huge problem in trying to site a new one. This is just ONE example of why sustainable planning is important and worth a small consulting fee of $1,200. What it is NOT is a liberal elite, UN conspiracy. Some ideas are being shared globally to provide examples so cities don't have to reinvent the wheel. THat is smart, not a conspiracy.
Go to most countries and check out their public transportation system It's comprehensive and convenient and in most cases, much quicker than sitting in traffic. Most US ciites only have bus systems and they have to fight traffic so they are not as efficient as driving. The US is tragically behind in yet another category. One SOLUTION is to institute alternatives that also try to ease congestion...like rail, bike options, commuter lanes. You would think those that are so beholden to their rights to drive would LOVE ideas to get others off the road!
You may not believe in climate change but air quality is a problem and leads to societal problems we all pay for like increased health care due to lung diseases, less worker productivity, having to plant more trees to absorb these eimissions. You may think you have the "liberty" to have blue smoke coming from your tailpipe, but your rights infringe on others and that is where government has to step in. There is a difference between your rights and the affects on others.
For those who do not understand the concept of 'sustainability', in a nutshell it mean, "can X sustaintain itself in the long run"? Sprawl eventually has an end. Wasting resources eventually has an end. Fossil fuels definitely have an end. The end is we run out of space, materials and fuel. We are running out of fresh water and that needs to be conserved and managed which goes in hand with sustainabilty planning. Tea Baggers, we have reached 7 billion people on this planet and these problems are just going to be expedited in the next few decades. The Tea Party "patriot" solution: sit on our hands and wait so we can keep our status quo. Sorry to inform you but the status quo cannot sustain itself in the long run. By stifling cities' abilty to make changes now to address these issues, they want them to sit on their hands and do nothing. This not only hurts society's abilty to address problems PROACTIVELY, but your individual rights that you are paranoid about will also be affected when we are forced by circumstances to make these changes eventually from a REACTIVE nature.
Moreover, allowing poor development in neighborhoods or business centers risks lowering property values for existing property owners and increases crime in those areas. You've seen it many times, a nice neighborhood becomes run down when ugly and cheap apartments are built. Cute historic centers are scared with a generic building that distracts and looks out of place. Yes, there are indiviual rights, but one act like that can infringe on everyone elses rights. Urban planners are trying to learn from past lax oversight or unintended consequences that hurt other property owners.
If you didn't think the Tea Baggers were paranoid, misinformed knuckle draggers, here is proof. I am continually amazed at how far "conservative" has gone away from any sense of "conservation". Folks, you can think this is all a "liberal elite conspiracry" but if you actually think about what urban sprawl does (congestion, bad planning, pollution), then instead of hearing "UN" and shutting your brain down, you may want to read and LISTEN to what the sustainability movement is trying to do.
"All truths passes through 3 stages. First it is ridiculed. Second it is violently opposed. Third it is accepted as self-evident." --Arthur Schoeppener
Conservatism marginalizes and protests new ideas but they eventually come to realize they were on the wrong side of history. I just wish they were more about conservation rather than paranoia and fear of change.. and now bullying urban planners.
So the progressive website prints a bunch of propaganda and all the leftist lemmings jump on it as fact. Pathetic.
There is one controlling document of the United States, it's called the CONSTITUTION! As said above, it has nothing to do with bike paths, it has to do with protecting the constitution and not abrogating our sovereignty to a bunch of America hating bureaucrats.
Read the goals of the Tea Party listed above, if you want to debate the Tea Party, debate those goals, not the stupid leftist drivel spewing out of the typical Kool-Ade imbiber.
Robin Steele,
RE: your post #2.7
First Robin, I think you are being very emotional and exagerating, by saying people have stated that they "hate the Tea Party"! Only ignorant people hate anything! Also, where in the world have you developed the idea that liberals stay on mom's couch longer than anyone else? That is pure emotion, and right wing propaganda, there are no FACTS to back up your statements! I agree with you that population needs to be dramatically lowered, but certainly that is only one way to lower pollution, which, by the way, affects you and your family and friends. Oil, coal, chemical, and other polluting companies do not have a multiplying effect like population growth, they do however cause a vast majority of the pollution in our world. Perhaps education would benefit you. Why not try and do some due dilligence (homework) BEFORE making yourself seem ignorant of the MANY causes of pollution. Also FACTS trumph emotions in most discussions. Have a GREAT weekend!
Wow!! Thank you so much for spending the time to provide such a great response. I appreciate the thought and energy that goes into learning about such a complex issue and then stating your position with clarity.
I'm sorry, Dome. I think you are being unfair to Neanderthals.
p111, if the tea bag party is so for protecting the Constitution, then why do you wing nuts support voter ID laws that deny citizens there Constitutional right to vote? Why do you ignore this statement of the 2nd amendment, A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state?
voter ID laws don't hinder any citizens right to vote, they just help to ensure only citizens are voting.
They do not jwoop, there are many people in this country that do not have a photo ID. Do you know why that is? Because there is no requirement in any state or at the Federal level to have one. And, since any legal resident can get a state issued ID card, what's to prevent them from voting?
California has a law that allows the police to detain you until they can establish your identity.
But I don't believe you are required to have photo ID in that state.(whoopie)
Good god: the posts calling an article about Teabagger stupidity a "liberal hit piece" are so stupid there's no need for any more articles about teabagger stupidity.
Of course, I could be wrong. As someone once said, intelligence has distinct limits, but stupidity is infinite.
Scrambolo, I appreciate the tone of your response, being thoughtful and all, but I must argue your point with regard to population not being the primary factor in environmental degradation. You see, there is a critical mass of population where it impossible to maintain a balanced ecosystem. Certain people are true cancers on the earth, and need to be removed. These do not necessarily include members of the tea party, or flaming liberals or anywhere in between. Much worse than chemical companies are those engaged in slaughter of endangered animals, which is primarily done to fund terr groups, and those engaged in slash and burn clearing of rainforests by subsistence farmers. The world would be better off ecologically with all these folks removed. See, you can blame chemicals and oil for all the ills of the world, but until the overpopulation is reduced, even turning everyone Amish won't solve the problem. If it is people who are causing global warming (sake of argument, crock of poo), it is their gaseous exchange, and not the items they use. All of that co2 exhaled by the massively excess population, is way worse than auto emissions. Also, the bunker fuel used to ship all that cheap sh!t from China is many times more polluting than all the vehicles on the road. Less trees mean no processing of all of that CO2. It is not Exxon killing our planet, it is the central american farmers, whose land management amounts to terrorist crimes against the environment. One final thought, I've said it before - if you really want to do away with chemistry try living your live without it. Oh, sure, you'll eat healthier, but it is unlikely you'll live too long. One minor accident, and you'll not likely live out the week. Environmentalism is a movement that was created in a drug induced haze in the 60's. I would not be so quick to let it enslave you.
AH! The consistent, droning drive by the inbred 'Wingnuts' are at it again. The Tea Party crowd have finally gone over the edge. Next, they will announce the re-animation of ELVIS; The arrival of a conquering horde from the Planet ZED and of course the time honored Alignment of the Planets this year spelling the end of us all!
God! Spielberg couldn't write this any better...........and they're starting to scare the kids!
So easy to comment like a liberal elite! It could be said that your comments apply better to the Occupy movement! They look like they come from the "Planet ZED". The Tea Party are good americans who have paid taxes for your liberal education and for your roads. On their backs America was made and they peacefully demonstrate on freedoms they want against the Orwellian Obama administration. Why don't we just apply healthcare to the liberals who want it and give the option for those who want to keep the current system as is? I guess you want to tread on us all with your failed policies. It all about freedom - take time to think about things logically!
Ahh, John Smith -
Thank you for calling liberals elitists. By default, that makes you and your fellow TPers "un-elitists" which is more than appropriate according to the definition of elite; The choice part; a superior group. And elitism is defined as; leadership or rule by an elite.
Since leadership and neo-cons and other TP types cannot be used in the same sentence, I agree with you that liberals are elitists. Compared to the far right wing-nuts, I guess we ARE elite. So, thank you very much.
Now go back to the basement and wring your hands over the next wing-nut conspiracy.
I would have rebut John Smith "dksouthern" but I was laughing so hard at your post that I felt the need not to.
dksouthern
Good spin job there! You make an excellent Alinsky Progressive!
I love how you wingnuts call this administration "Orwellian," when Orwelll was an avowed socialist and wrote 1984 as a warning against the conservative party of England.
Are there any pictures? And if so, are all the Tpartiers now wearing aluminum hats?
I figured it out. How DARE we try to take the Tea Party's right to run over bicyclists, or poison us with pollution! Don't let us take away their right to shoot people, or enforce ethics rules, or morality in capitalism. No way we can protect consumers, or insure equity in tax responsibility. I support capitalism, and hard work. I also support being able to keep the same proportion on what I earn as the rich. ALL my money is taxed, there's absolutely NO moral reason to give Mitt a break, or anyone else like him. If GE and other corporations are PEOPLE, let them PAY TAXES like PEOPLE!!!!!!
Wow. Who could have guessed that the article was about envying Mitt Romney's wealth and tax situation? That's some deep thinking.
Here's what we want Charlotte Merkel you a- h#@e, Keep our water and land clean without keeping track of how many times I drive to the store , or how many times I go to the can !!! Stay Out Of My Business !!!!Just keep the damn water drinkable !!!
So you believe every thing the liberal media tells you? You think that this is all about bike paths? Why don't you go to a Tea Party Rally? Guess what. You won't have to put up with the crazy speaking protocol that you find in the Occupy movement where you have to repeat someone's words. You will find truth. This is about freedom. Freedom from someone imposing unemployment on you like Obama. Freedom from Obamacare. You are someone that talks big against the Tea Party but at the same time balks at the high taxes you are paying.
Do you know why wingnuts believe every insane conspiracy theory that comes along? Because they themselves have been unwitting cogs in two of the longest running conspiracies on the planet, Christianity and The conservative movement. Other the years both groups have conspired to deny the rights of others to exist, conservative think tanks like the Committee For a New American Century and The Heartland Institute employ hundreds of wingnuts whose only job is to think up ways to disenfranchise and defund progressive and liberals. Their propaganda smear campain works so well that simpletons like John Smith truly begin to believe the lies he is force fed by talk radio and Fox News. He is fooled into believing that everyone who doesn't think just like he does it a "LIBERAL", there is no in between in his small very narrow mind, you are either a "god fearing, Muslim hating, patriot" or a "commie", you're either "wit him or aginst him".
The loons on the far left have a right to live life as they see fit...They do not have a right to tell me how to live life as they see fit.
John, go to "right wing watch" where we post all your (wingnut) propaganda films, browse the site for a while and watch some of your sides own handy work, you know the ones that start off with a "green hammer and sickle flag" and compares groups like Greenpeace to terrorist organizations, then come back here and tell us again how this is just a "liberal" conspiracy to make it look like you guys are conspiracy theorists.
I just noticed that you have been doing that in every post, claiming this is a "liberal media conspiracy" to make us believe that you are a bunch of conspiracy theorists. How hilarious, you are the perfect example of what the article was talking about, how very stereotypical you are john, you are a caricature of yourself
Note to the TeaParty: Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean we're not out to get you!..
A tin foil wrapped T'brain is still such a terrible thing to waste......
At least the tin foil can be recycled...
A brain on T?....well...hmm...er...emm... Ahhhaa!...nah...hmm... Eureka!.... give it back....yeah.....return it to T'Aleccon Birch Clones R US T'corp pronto. They need it for their own recycle program. As No brain= no re-animation= no new T'Pals...
It's seems that examining other points of view without an ideological bias is not possible in a society that has so many people with their "it's my way or no way" mentality. Extremism from either the left or the right negates our ability to find rational compromises and reasonable solutions for problems that have been made bigger than they should be. It's as if we have become a bed of spoiled children, except it's a lot more dangerous than that. Our nation's future is in jeopardy.
Jim, well said. When and why have we become a people where such polar extremes have or is becoming the norm, boggles the mind....
It is as if no one want to converse or debate these issues rather holding firmly to their posititon and arguing from that position, firmly in the belief that the other side is simply wrong.
In conversation with some other folks recently, I agreed with their stance, yet one person started hammering at my 'agreement' with their own position. No matter how many times I stated that I agreed with their position and the crux of their arguement, sadly made absolutely no difference. :)
Later thinking through the conversation, I realized that they simply believed that I would not have been in agreement with any they said, and was so firm in that belief, that they were now arguing against my agreement with them... unbelievable. I also came to the conclusion that it was probably because I did not use their particular words or phrases, so it appeared to them - also because they were perhaps not 'actively' listening- that I was disagreeing with their stance on that particular issue/subject.
Where have all our tolerance gone? When did this start and why?
Why is no longer possible for some folks to believe that many people are or may be conservative on some things while liberal on others, while some may be unsure all round?
Why is it that there are those who believe that if an alternate point of view is expressed- even for conversation/debate sake-, that this is an attack on them or their viewpoint/beliefs thus they go into attack mode?
Why is it that it appears that we no longer listen with an open mind anymore?
Even posting on message boards can be a mindfields, or brickwalls, where instead of discussion/conversation it is reduced to picking on spelling errors, length of posting, and even instances of attempted bullying, etc instead of reasoned thoughtul replies?
What is with the 1-3 minute format of some 'discussion' programs on TV, where important subjects are given the least amount of time and then on to the next subject to the point of gibberish, while not so important subjects are given so much more time? At the end of the program on is left confused or cannot remember what was discussed. lol
What is with these talking heads and reporters not taking the time to explain their subject rather simply stating 'the American public will not understand' eg on the financial/Wall Street fiasco that tanked the economy here and worldwide? Why not explain what derivitives etc are for example and the other products and machinations that helped to cause the housing market bubble/balloon and subsequent implosion etc, instead of pushing the idea that Americans will not understand or their attention span is so short they will not want to or care to listen or understand what occurred? One would think that the lowly masses would like to know where their savings, 401ks, IRAs, pensions, jobs, homes etc are gone and why.....
What about the tax rates and those rates and loopholes that are so favorable and available to the rich and corporations while not to the masses?
What about explaining to the masses how it is that torture is now legal, or about the Patriot Act and the various admendments that may now impact their lives and their rights to due process etc, instead of 'the masses will not understand'?
How about the USPS, and the required funding of pensions 75 years into the future within a 10 year period? Why was this necessary? Is this a vulture capatist style move to destroy the USPS- i.e. take out its assets, push it into debt then force bankruptcy thus finding a way to get rid of this org or privatize it?
What's with some discussion program hosts not allowing their guests to answer the question with all the butting in to ask a different question or to express his/her/their own ideas and thoughts instead? What's with some guests loudly overtalking or loudly out-talking other guests, oftentimes spewing forth questionable rhetoric, insults, racial, ethnic or religious biased accusation and idiocy?
There are a lot more questions and no doubt many answers. How many people who are working to try to find a job or to make ends meet, have the time to do research on these things for themselves, or even have or have access to a computer or the internet even in rural areas?
Could this be why some folks seem to be stuck fast to certain ideas, believe on party over the other, think govt have no place, rules, regulations and oversight is not needed and may even end up voting against their own best interest?
Oh well, many folks may not read this... but at least I have had the opportunity to put forth some of my thoughts and questions regarding the intolerance, ignorance, amped up divisiveness, mistrust and distrust we are seeing and experience these days......
Peace.... tolerance.... think....question....wisdom...
That does it! I'm selling my Facebook stock and will be buying stock in tin foil producers!
That's right. Believe every liberal article that you read. Sell your Facebook stock. Once you feel the brunt of Obama's unemployment scheme and Obama care you will be a key part of the Occupy movement. Guess what? You will find Democratic Mayors and Senators kicking you out of parks and then you will realize that buying Facebook was a good idea. And heck... Even the Tea Party was a good idea....
Obama's unemployement scheme??? What is that??? The economy crashed in the last 2 years of Bush. The tax cuts and deregulation finally caught up to him. Unemployment rose every month for his last 2 years in office. Under Obama and his plans unemployment has gone down for the last 23 months.
Actually, no, offtheoil. The economy started crashing 6 months before the election. Before every election the market flutters, because of uncertainty as to who will be elected. But with the possibility of electing the most liberal president ever, the market didn't flutter, it crashed. That's not to say it's Obama's fault. He can't help it people were worried that much about what he would do to this country. As for the housing crash, Barney F and all the other Dems demanding that people who couldn't afford homes be given loans are responsible for that. Once the market tipped, and people on the margin, with no savings, lost their jobs, the housing market crashed.
But, of course, Bush micromanaged every single aspect of the economy, so he personally is at fault, not congress or any subcommittee. Just push the believe button, dude.
complete and utter BS
Unemployment started rising in July 2007. All reports out there except for Fox say the CRA had nothing to do with the subprime crash. The CRA law was enacted in 1977, why would it take 30 years for it to crash the housing market? All reports say that over 60% of loans made did not fall under the CRA rules. The banks crashed because they got more regulations removed during the Bush years that allowed them to play with money in riskier markets and in ways they had not been allowed to do. Basically, greed. Make loans on the real estate agents promise that houses would always increase wildly in price driven by higher commisions for higher sales prices then bundle those loans and pass them off to someone else allowing them to make more loans. Deregulation and greed, not being forced to loan to poor people. The first TARP bailout happened in Oct 2008 so the problem was well under way before the "flutter" because of the so called uncertainty of who would be elected.
I view this as a quality of life issue . To me it makes good sense . High Speed rail ( if done properly, not hap haphazardly ), open space and green space are a great idea to me. Limit the size of a city, and cut down Urbansprawl. This works for me also. Some day we might need that land for farming. Also bring back the trolley-cars. No diesel exhaust, and smog from them. Most of all it is a matter of common sense. Pack to many people into a city and what do you get ??? Ghettos and urben blight !! No one wants to live there or work there.
bob
Have you read the UN's Agenda 21? It says there will be NO HUMAN zones. Nothing about farm land for later, also it states that there should be no more than 500 million people on the ENTIRE planet. So someone you know, needs to die. Actually, about 9 people you know need to die. Me, I'll go probably in the first wave protecting my family from Genocide, but that's me, I live my life the way I want, not the way I'm told to be. Some people like me for this, most do not. But I can at least say I walk it, like I talk it. And not follow some rich idiot blindly, while he directs the bus over the cliff.
trust
Many of the things you said may very well be true .
As far as cities go. Take a trip to SAVANNA GEORGIA . Walk around the old city of SAVANNA . You will love the way it is laid out . You can walk, drive, seg-way or bike any where there. Their are open, green spaces every other block . Each one is a park . The people who built it in the 1700,s did it properly. You must see it to believe it. That to me is the way a city should look. I have seen Boston & NYC . They are dirty and nasty, the air stinks and there is to many people there.
Common sense says we do not have to follow Agenda 21 to the fullest extent.
bob
Bob,
The problem with the green weenies is that they are clueless about what they desire.
High speed rail? I'll give you credit, you did say "not haphazardly". But what do we have? Well, the good people of Florida were smart enough to kill a really stupid doondoggle, but Jerry Brown and our President are determined to waste $100 billion to build a train from nowhere to nowhere in California that not much anyone will ride.
You worry about land for farming. Well, remember when the greenie weenies wanted to run our cars on ethanol? Here's a number for you. If you planted the entire arrable part of the country in corn for ethanol, you still couldn't produce enough to power our nations fleet. Furthermore, not one bit of carbon emission or one drop of oil would be saved. Turns out that it takes about as much oil to produced ethanol as there is energy in the ethanol. Even Al Gore has figured out that ethanol is a really bad idea, but our government has mandated that we use ever more.
As you say, "it's a matter of common sense". The problem is that the weenies overwhelm the cretins in government. The problem isn't the Tea Party, it's the Greenie Weenies.
Trust,
I can't believe what I just read. You need professional help.
Jon
Please explain why. Maybe without the snarky comments.
economan
AGREED !!! Ethanol was and is a stupid waste of time, money, and good corn. If we can ever get out of the age old trial & error method of doing things. We would be far better off. I am not an extremest nor a GREEN-WEENIE. I just prefer to take a more common sense approach to these problems. The answer to our green issue lies some where in the middle, not the extreme on either end.
bob
Lord of the Rings was an analogy of how industrialization destroyed various communities and towns. Many European big cities are now churning out slums and people who have no skills and a future. Have you seen the documentary "Waiting for Superman?" about our education system? This is what the UN wants. More cities that fit the socialist governmental system. Railways are costly. The require more taxes. That means taking money away from citizens who can help small businesses. Also takes away money from towns - where local people can spend it on making the gardens look good as someone pointed out in Savannah, GA.
bob: "I am not an extremest nor a GREEN-WEENIE. I just prefer to take a more common sense approach to these problems. The answer to our green issue lies some where in the middle, not the extreme on either end."
Which is, of course, why you resort to name-calling. That's always a good place to start and find common ground.
Economan, you lost me at "greenie weenies." It sounds like an elementary school mentality. It's time to grow up.
Shark...,
It's so hard to name a "green initiative" that makes sense, that "Greenie Weenies" seems like a fair way to ridicule the Al Gores of the world and their acolytes.
If they were just harmless fools, it wouldn't be a big deal, but they're not. If you combine every green energy scheme (hydro-electric power excepted) tried in the last 30 years, what you have is nothing more than a huge waste of wealth that has made the earth less livable. Not only has it made us all poorer, but the nearly uninterrupted string of failures discourages and competes against sensible plans.
When the Greenie Weenies get past an elementary school understanding of their foolishness, then I'll pick a grownup name for them.
Bottom line up front- control yourself, moderate your comments, and stick to the facts/solutions or else you risk sounding ignorant. And when you sound ignorant, then people filter you out. So, why even post?
FYI- I, just like many other bloggers, tend to discard opinions as irrelevant when the person: 1) name calls, and 2) justifies the name calling when they think their opinion is better than someone else's, when it clearly is not. I guarantee that many of the people in these discussions have earned their academic chops and should be afforded better comments than "when the Greenie Weenies get past an elementary understanding of their foolishness then [you'll] pick up a grownup name for them". By the sound of it, I would guess that most are probably better educated than you've proven to be? Just a thought. Stick to the facts and stay relevant. If you care about a solution, then you have to compromise and work with others to get there. We all learned this in kindergarten. Apply it.
And yes I am a Greenie Weenie- all 6'4", 250lbs. of me that has served in the US Air Force (flew B-1 and RC-135 aircraft) for almost 14 years now. And I am genuinely concerned about the security of this country. Unsustainable economic, environmental, and social practices are the biggest national security issue this country will ever face. The irony is that NOT going green threatens our national security. NOT working together threatens our national security. NOT treating all beings on this planet as equals threatens our national security. I'm beginning to think that the "Greenie Weenies" are better at finding ways to stabilize this country. Name one environmental initiative that the other side has tried.
I agree Savannah Georgia is beautiful, and laid out well, and you too can afford to buy there if you make a 7figure salary. Tybee Island is also beautiful! What is wrong with bike trails and walking paths? Some fat lazy people must be objecting, oh yeah, most of the Tparty. Couldn't help myself!
I pesronally have no problem with bike trails when they are payed for by those who use them and not me. What I do have a problem with is bike trails being made out of old roads that I can no longer drive on. I enjoy being in the mountains here in Colorado but some of the roads that I used to be able to drive on are now designated "bike trails". I paid for those roads and now I can't use them? I am physically unable to ride a bicycle and even though I may be a "small minded neanderthal" it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the wrong in that.
I don't have a boat but my tax money pays for boat ramps and parking lots near the boat ramps. I dont fly very often but my tax money pays for the airport and the roads to get there. I don't go to college but my tax money pays for county college so others can. Thats the way this country works.. You can't just pay for the stuff that youu use.. You would not be able to pay for the sewers or the clean water going to your house by yourself. Why do you people think this is socialist?? It is the way this country has worked since it was founded.
Why are you letting anger take over common sense? I feel empathy for you that you can't ride a bike, but there are many who can... It would do wonders for our environment and our personal health if more used their own human muscle for what it was genetically programmed to do.
Have to disagree with you on this Rich. Where does the slippery slope stop? My tax money pays for handicap modification to govt buildings. I don't need handicap accommodation yet still pay for it. Further, I have no kids but my property taxes support public schools. I concur with offtheoil's post.
Or maybe Agenda 21 was encouraging us to be frugal with resources. If only we listened back in 1992 we might not be so hyped up on oil.
I just love how conserving land, resources, and suggesting people live in "cities" it's such a bad thing..please tell me what is wrong with public transportation and bicycles..So glad the Tea Party is filled with old hags because they def wont be around for long!
This 'infestation,' chronic sore or whatever name one would give to this disease of the Republican Party, isn't going away anytime soon. The Right-wing Bird Flu manifests itself in many forms but it seams to always attach itself to its host in such a way that now, it could never be cured or excised from the 'patient.' Sorry "Party of Lincoln" it looks like a terminal case for your members.
Yes but as republicans we don't have the chains of unions and fear of not receiving this month welfare check held over our heads like the democrats live under and so strongly preach about. I'll take my freedom from control anyday, thank you!! I'm a republican, i have a job at minimum wage and I pay my taxes and praise my God for all he's provided.
I am a liberal democrat and served in the Navy, and have been working since I was 14 and have never taken a government check. I wish there were some unions here in TX that I could have joined so that I could have had a retirement plan. You thanking god for a minimum wage job that you will have to work at until you die is not the way it should be. Plus don't forget that the Tea people want to do away with minimum wage so you might be working for 1 dollar an hour.
Don't pay any attention to him offtheoil. The "Walking Dead" have finally exposed themselves as the whack-o's they truly are. If he had done his homework he would know that the unions are the ones who put Middle Class America where they are today. Romney wants the country to think that he is going to be the savior of the Middle Class when it has been the Republican Party who decimated the Middle Class in the last 35 years.
what a pile of manure this "story" is
I think YOU'RE the one who doesn't get it... You keep saying that if lazy people get off their butts they can become wealthy... Guess what? Everyone CAN'T be wealthy. It's simple math... our system is set up so that the rich can live a luxurious lifestyle and maybe donate a crumb here or there to their church or some other charity and be looked at as heros. I work a middle class job, earn a middle class salary, and spend all my money within the local economy while making positive contributions spiritually and educationally. Of course there are leaches who live off the welfare system etc. That's not me.. So stop lumping the middle class with the poor people. If people like Mitt were not allowed to dupe the system-- there would be a much larger percentage of MIDDLE CLASS folks--- The real heart of America!
The bike lanes are dicriminatory. The cyclists need to pay licencing fees, have insurance, and a cyclist licence. Also, being states add a tax to fuel prices at the pump to help maintain the roads, an appropriate tax needs to be implimented also. Ticketing cyclists for traffic infractions should be in line with motor vehicles also. Now that would be fair.
Too bad fuel taxes don't pay the total cost of roads. In fact in many local jurisdictions they pay ZERO of the cost for roads. As a tax payer (and road fee payer through the monthly road maintenance fee in my water bill) I AM paying for my right to ride my bike on public roads.
O.K. Fine. But ride your three wheel bike in accordance with traffic laws. Stop weaving in and out of traffic, running through RED lights, give pedestrians the right of way and get your bike licensed. Otherwise you are a law breaking jerk that need to be grounded for ninety days after you pay the fine.
Hello everyone. I guess you have not read agenda 21. it state the farms are unsustainable and the countries that are rich give to give their wealth to the poor. in other words they want the whole world to be a third world country. Dependent upon the UN or One World Order. And their plan for the population is 500.000 people and how do you think they will get to this number. Agenda 21 is absolute control over the world and how it is used.
Farms are unsustainable because of the amount of chemicals pour on them for the last 20-40 yrs. The management of soils is awful.
5-7 yrs of intensive soil management brings crop production back to the levels of that of chemical use farms. Side benefits no chemical runoffs.
Just another article to roust up some leftist liberal fodder that Democrats love to eat.
Facts ARE a left-wing conspiracy, aren't they?
Bunch of Tea Party lunatics.LMFAO.
Rich,
Its not funny. These people live among us. Until these people get the medication they desperately need none of us are safe.
Its funny, All you have is your little tirade's about how sick and twisted the tea party is but you can't back up your thoughts with anything but hate. WHO needs med's? Look in the mirror girl friend.
It's not hate, Richard, Sweetie. It's called "critical thinking" and a rejection of lunatic conspiracy theories. Time for sanity!
Ok Tracey,
Does critical thinking translate to question everything? If so, Why is it so hard for you to see the tea party's point of questioning agenda 21?
Just asking
I have a simple question. Why are the tea party and republicans against EVERYTHING that is common sense and logical and a product of scientific approach?
Just defeats me.
Forget logic. IN fact they are also against everything that is human...like love and kindness.
anti-evolution, anti-stem cells/govt funded research, anti-poor,anti-abortion/womens rights, anti-education, anti-environment
but pro gun, pro rich, pro war.....
In other words by the republican logic the govt cannot tell people not to carry guns etc.,, but it can tell a woman who was raped not to have abortion. What kind of stupid logic is that?
in short, republicans = anti-good, anti-logic, and pro-evil, pro backward
why is that? Just defeats me !
As I thought. You have no answer's, And moronic insults are not answer's.
I grew up on a small farm in central Michigan. When I was a boy I would go hunting with friends. If we saw one of the land owners in the fields they would often direct us toward good hunting areas and wish us luck. Many of those places are now filled with tract homes, and my boyhood hunting spots have been wiped out, renamed" Deer Run" and "Pheasant Creek", the things that used to be there, but were destroyed in the name of urban sprawl and property rights. We need green places and we need to conserve our resources for our children.
I to witnessed the same. One thing you have to keep in mind, the population of the planet has grown considerably since we were kids. If we keep reproducing at the current rate there will be no place to stand let alone live. It seems any suggestion of ways to handle our exploding population gets trashed in the "freedom" fight. Any thoughts of how to live in an overcrowded society is trashed by the wing nuts. Go figure! The republicans still think it's 1776. They have little insight and certainly no workable solutions. The Tea Party (i.e. Republicans) can call me anything they want but the problems remain. They have nothing to offer that will make lives workable for all.
anti-stupid 61 I bet you the Native Americans would strongly agree with you. : /
i need a ten million dollar grant to study it...of course i'll make a campaign contribution...
By the way... Please take an engineering vs. liberal arts course. You can contribute to society through taxes later on for the liberals to spend.
John...you mean the hard-earned tax dollars from liberal blue states that disproportionately go to Conservative red states so they can sit in their trailers and eat Twinkies? Facts are so dang INCONVENIENT!
They don't know that the Palin Alaska gets more fed money back every year than they put in plus they get money from the oil companies while the rest of us subsidize the oil companies and they won't let Obama stop the subsidies. Facts are not their strong point. They live for the bumber sticker Hannity sound bite.
There is no doubt there are people on both sides that take things too far....but the side that's always in favor of less government is the side to always take...real simple your more capable of controlling you than someone else controlling you right? If not then you need to move to communist china...thats the opposite of freedom and leave us alone.
like all the companies did to duck environmental standards.
Tea Party = uneducated, braindead, FOX followers without the will power to think or act for themselves, The truely pathetic of todays population
Good to say that? Hope you feel better now.
Ignorant.
Hey, Rich-298746 These tea pots are not funny. They are paranoid and selfish. If we just sit on our a#@es and let them do their thing, this country will Not be a better place. Wake up people. The tea pots are worried about their own rights while they attempt to take away our children's rights to breathe clea nair and safely ride their bicycles.
You need to wake up. This country is not a better place. In fact the world is in at a tipping point. People around the world have been demonstrating for freedom against dictators and tyrants. The good thing is that we like in a democracy. Even Democrats agree that this has been the worst president on record. The Tea Party have woken up. You should listen to them then you will understand better that it IS about FREEDOM!
Ahhh, John Smith,
I love it when TPers try to tell us what we're thinking. I don't know ANY Democrats who think our president is the worst on record. You shouldn't really believe everything FauxNews tell you, you know.
Now, about people around the world demonstrating against dictators and tyrants. I would simply call your attention to the fact that the dictators and tyrants they're demonstrating against are ALL right-wing fanatics, something you should know something about! The proof is in the pudding of which form of government I prefer. I think future generations are much better off in a society that knows how to think about others as much as themselves, and can work together for a common good. Geez, there's almost something biblical about that!
You don't have to look too far back to see the worst President ever. George the Unready. Led us into a trillion dollar war on information he knew was fabricated or exaggerated. Put the economy in a death spiral - almost into a depression. Doubled the national debt during his term. And Obama has had to spend another 5 trillion to get the economy going again.
History is going to be kind to Obama. And very unkind to Bush. Wait and see.
It sounds to me like the tea partiers are the ones supporting agenda 21 if you follow the logic of the post that says it's goal is to get the world population down to 500 million. Poison the air, clog the roads with more cars, put bicycles out on public highways with no lanes, make sure nothing is even discussed on climate change. I really have grown weary of the wingnuts, they are out of their minds
When you grow up you will find that life isn't perfect. To pay for your education we need industrial factories. It's a part of life. Every prosperous nation has to burn something in the air. You need to live in another country if that is what you want. If you were talking a science or engineering degree (vs. liberal arts degree) you would be better educated and not believe everything you read on your syllabus (that requires MSNBC reading). The Tea Party is just asking for their feedoms.
OK, John boy. You have your freedom to find a country where everyone is focused only on themselves and see how long it takes for things to implode.
Please, go now, before this freedom is also taken from you by this socialistic (according to your one-dimensional way of thinking) country we live in.
So sad that you don't understand freedom. Who are the neighbors your going to turn into the government first when you receive the letter to do so from your government leaders? Sounds like you just might be willing to do that from your writings so far. How much money would it take to make up that ugly story? You know you love having hate run through your body. Your a liberal!! Everybodies wrong except you. Must be nice!!
"Your a liberal!" Thanks for upholding stereotypes, and the chuckle.
Yes John, we need factories but we don't need factories dumping the waste unregulated like they used to when you couldn't see or breath in big cities and rivers would catch fire from the pollution. I am willing to bet that you are glad your car gets 30 mpg and that you won't die in a 30 mph crash. Those things were brought to you by the liberal government along with no lead in the gas and paint and safety in my workplace. Just a few things the repubs don't want.
Back in the 1950's there was a similar political movement. It was called McCarthyism.
They saw a Red under every bed......in the UN!
History repeats itself...again!
An in the 1950's we also had communism. Where the Socialists dictators brutalized and killed hundreds of innocent citizens. Today we have hundreds of people and innocent citizens brutalized by unemployment and their standards of living eroded by the threat of Obama care and higher taxes.
Next: Health care is a communist plot to make people more healthy.
This just goes to show that some folks just don't understand that taxes paid for all the wonderful things this country has to offer. We could not have built this country any other way. It was not private enterprise that built this country.. it was us! Taxes are our cheapest way out and a bargain for what we get in return. We can now drive cross country without having to own a 4 wheel drive with mud tires. I, for one, do not want to go back to covered wagons and ox driven carts. We now have an evolved society that demands thought and understanding of what it will take for us to survive collectively. Unfortunately some do not think nor understand this. They are called the tea party and they will be the demise of the republicans . I'm not so sure this is such a bad thing. I patiently wait and watch. What a shame.
Good morning America from your good friend and neighbour to the north. Going to Tim Horton's for donuts and coffee, NOT tea. Your "tea parties" down there have me sworn off the stuff! Back soon...
One day you will be told what to eat and where to go. So enjoy the freedom to go to "Tim Horton's" and the ability to choose between Tea and Coffee. One day you might not have that choice if the liberals impose their health menu on you!
Funny how Michelle Obama talks against Pizza and Chips but secretly woofs down fried chicken and fries. It's not do as I do but do as I say. This is what the Tea Party is about. So laugh for now... It's easy. Remember that one day you might appreciate all the hard work that the Tea Party have done to keep our freedoms and choices alive.
Don't mean to alarm you John, but I think I saw a black helicopter hovering over your place last night!
Johnnie Boy, I have several suggestions about where you should go and what you should eat. But, of course, NOBODY'S gonna tell YOU what to do!!!
By the way, have you been hiding under Michelle's dinner table again?
John, they've made real strides with psychotropic medications as of late, that help the delusions and fantasies of persecution go away. Thanks for underscoring the point of this article...that Tea Party types are fantasists with a loose grip on reality.
The tp's represent the consciousness level and worldview of the Dark Ages. As in step with veritable national and global concerns and deep issues as a cave man whistling in the dark or swinging his club at things that go bump in the night.
What's frightening and mystifying about them is, why any sane individual would give them any credibility. Boo!
John, Is it my imagination or are you in fact a Washington insider? How else would you know what Mrs. Obama secretly eats. One thing I do know... it is below her dignity to address the kind of BS you are putting out here. Perhaps you are right though about having to be told where to go and what to eat. There will be little food and no water to drink if we follow your prescription for freedom. There are better ways than what you describe here. Now, if you would just pay attention!
This is a biased article. For those who look down on the Tea Party activists remember that one day you might be in a role reversal. Do you want a government mandating strongly against liberal policies without going to the people? Look at the Middle-East. I guess when it feels ok to you it's ok to ignore the rule of law or for that matter your morals. The tea part group is more peaceful than the Occupy movement -- that is now being trashed by Democratic mayors and Democratic Governors!
Please look at the "The Forgotten Man", a painting by Jon McNaughton. Remember the words:
First they came after the Jews, Christians - I looked down at them and didn't speak out
Then they came after the tea party peaceful protesters - I laughed and didn't speak out
Then they came after the conservatives - I thought good (I hate them) and didn't speak out
Then it affected me with unemployment - I started to doubt
Then they began to hurt me with their liberal establishment demands ...
Then there was on-one to speak out.
This is what the Occupy movement is finding. Obama was using them. Now you find Democratic Mayors and Democratic Governors now ousting them out of the parks. One day a liberal elite will come and make your life even worse. Remember George Orwell.
It all began with the Constitution and the left wing radicals that wrote it. The Boston Tea Party was all about throwing things into the harbor because radicals wanted to keep it clean. Planning for sustainable growth is a socialist plot to attack urban sprawl, an essential American right to waste and despoil the planet for God and man.
You may not know it, but the UN was founded to maintain peace on Earth and destroy the American weapons industry and limit our opportunity to destroy the Earth and prevent Armageddon. If the Creator didn't intend for us to kill other people, why did God give us the right to carry guns?
Oh, give us a break, John. The planet is dying and you are scrabbling about bs. Times have changed. We have bigger and graver issues to address, like a planet running out of water, a scrambling climate and scientists screaming they have no analogues as to all the unnatural changes occurring globally.
Other scientists maintain, the Earth can no longer sequester the heat trapping gases and that we no longer experience historic levels of oxygen; the marine ecosystems are experiencing more and more dead, oxygen-less zones, with smaller and more diseased fish.
Modern man is devouring the Earth's ecosystems and their biological diversity or all the reasons man breathes and exist for his ever exploding avarice. We are living in an era of an extinction rate 1,000 times higher than normal.
According to this nation's most ecologically literate scientists, man is suicidal when he kills ecosystems, and when he pushes extinct the strands in the web of all life or biological diversity, he is creating a world about as safe for mankind as thermonuclear war. Tea Party?? When we face ecocide?
John Smith-2351185 HUH?
their insanity never stops, they must be getting desperate now that they realize Obama is doing something right, something that their republican counterpart can never do
Insanity? You think that having millions and millions of people in unemployment is doing something right? You think that stopping projects like the Keystone Oil Pipeline is doing something right? Who's insane here?
Boy, Johnny, you just keep giving us fodder!
You bet your water and fertile farmlands stopping the Keystone Pipeline is a good idea!
John, the tp's are clueless. The Keystone Oil Pipeline would have killed multi-thousands of acres of boreal, wetland, riverine and grassland ecosystems. Ecosystems are the natural, wild, biotic [life] community, the veritable physical body of Earth. The eco-nomy of all life, including mankind's. Ask yourself if a car or quart of oil can:
Release oxygen, balance the gaseous composition of the atmosphere, naturally regulate and moderate the climate, sequester the heat trapping gases naturally, provide the nitrogen cycle and the hydrological storage and flux?
Can a shopping mall, parking lot, house or city create and renew the soil? Provide decomposition, pollination, seed dispersal or purify the air and water, provide 75% of all new medicines, the circulation of vital nutrients, the entirety of the Earth's biogeochemistry, 99% of all pest control, and the regulation and control of human disease pathogens in the food chain with man that cause man killer disease pandemics?
All ecosystems are all integrated, and they all have loops and feedbacks to the very atmosphere and the very climate. And, they all, altogether, create the very life zone of the Earth, the biosphere/ecosphere.
Ecosystems provide mankind with all his life supporting functions, cycles and systems, life itself. The Keystone pipeline would have killed all the preceding!
Wow, it amazes me how so many can be so ignorant and blind. Lets blame all our problems on the Tea Party. No need to think the Republicans or Democrats have anything to do with our national or world problems. Research is far to much trouble, we'll just point fingers. Ha Ha.... Considering the state of the nation has been in the Dem's and Republicans hands since the beginning of our nationhood, how can anyone point fingers at the Teat Party. JEEZ.... What's that saying...oh..."Let people think you're stupid instead of opening your mouth and removing all doubt".
The REALITY of all this ......Be scared people, be very scared.....
No one is blaming "all the problems" on the Tea Party here, C, this is a specific article on a specific example of the ignorance running rampant in the Tea Party. Here, have a donut!
This is a "specific example" of how the liberal media likes to label the Tea Party. I haven't seen an equivalent article about the Occupy Movement. Have you seen protocol for speaking at an Occupy Event? Everyone has to repeat words said by the speaker.. Have you heard about all the rapes and abuses that have gone on in an Occupy camp? You need to go out of MSNBC to hear the real news. Try fish oils instead of donuts - it's good for the brain.
Don't be ignorant Leroy..... This runs far deeper, This specifics in this article isn't specific at all it's about a number of issues from the UN's " Agenda 21 " to "one world order". Plus all the constant riding of the Tea Party since 2008 thru the present. Here, have some milk with your donut.
The Tea Party really has nothing to do with this article but people couldn't wait to bring them into it.
Attacking liberals and the occupy movement is one thing John, but attacking DONUTS?!?! Now you've gone too far!
Nothing makes me feel more informed than a "tea partier" calling me ignorant, C, thank you.
Research John..... The Occupy Movement has seen any more rapes or robberies the any occupied surface of this planet ....Give me a break bone head!
I'm not a Tea Partier......however,the truth about your ignorance coming out must sting a bit Leroy.
Leroy... If the UN had it's way they would tell you where to eat and what to eat. Enjoy the donut while you have the ability to choose!
Mmmm, maple dip...
oh... The UN has a regulation on whether or not you can actually call it a Maple Syrup! LOL...
C, the tp's are out of step with reality and the deep concerns and problems facing mankind and the Earth of today. Their minds and worldview represent a world that existed hundreds of years ago. Even this nation's Dems and Repubs are behind western Europe's recognition of profound problems facing mankind and the Earth.
The more literate the individual is in the science of ecology or the ecology of our ecosystem dependent Earth, the more he can see, mankind is devouring all the reasons he breathes and exits.
The UN, unlike this nation, is attempting to address some of the deep issues facing man and the Earth. Almost every American is illiterate as to how Earth functions and cycles to create and sustain all life or is clueless as to all the ways man is destroying his only home, the Earth.
Even the dumbest of birds isn't so stupid as to kill his only nest. Americans are lagging behind intellectually and scientifically. It's time we evolved our current worldview. We aren't breathing because of the financial economy, which is underpinned to the eco-nomy of our ecosystem dependent Earth or the eco-nomy of all life, including yours and mine.
The tea partiers are in the business of killing the Earth and are exceedingly illiterate in science and current issues. Science is currently grappling with "no analogs" for all the unnatural changes occurring globally, and tp's are science phobics, i.e., dumb as dirt!
Very well said skor154, I understand and agree with 99.9% of your post.
Tea Partiers are Environmentally Ignorant and Ultra Conservative Constitutionally.
Change, here's change; 435 US Congressional seats up for grabs.....replace all of them, 33 US Senate seats up for grabs, replace them all..... Considering the Republicans have no good replacement for Obama....keep him, see what he can do with a new congress and a 3rd new senate.
Personally, I want ultra conservation, environmentally and constitutionally.....
