Well these dictators are not wrong...we SHOULD sanction corporations doing business with them. I say that if Coke and Pepsi are selling to Hugo and Amanutjob, then they should be charged with supporting terrorism. AND WE SHOULD NOT BUY OIL FROM EITHER country.
I hate fighting with countries that we support at the same time.
These guys are not a joke and are the reason that it is vital we secure our borders
Venezuela Islamic Terrorism Connection
eyeonfreedom.com/index.../venezuela-islamic-terrorism-connection/Cached............''at Iran’s suggestion, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez hosted senior leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in a secret summit at military intelligence headquarters at the Fuerte Tiuna compound in southern Caracas. Among those present were Palestinian Islamic Jihad Secretary General Ramadan Abdullah Mohammad Shallah, who is on the FBI’s list of most-wanted terrorists; Hamas’s “supreme leader,” Khaled Meshal; and Hezbollah’s “chief of operations,” whose identity is a closely guarded secret.'' We really are foolish to not be sealing our borders!
MosinEur is correct. All countries (including the U.S. need to break every tie with these countries. All businesses (and I mean every business) need to do the same. It seems there's enough oil elsewhere, we don't need their supply. Strangle their economic needs. It's time the U.S. and all of their allies to take a serious stand (especially against there two dictators).
Where's Dick Cheney when we need him? These 2 clowns need a little waterboarding so they can learn not to make jokes about absolete weapons....Atomic bomb? Isnt the word Atomic so 50s? Anyway, the Venezuelan one isnt the big problem, it's that other hawk nosed Alibaba that needs the feared "Dick's Special"....can you imagine going for a hunting trip first with Dick before being waterboarded...now that's creepy!
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez lavished praise on each other on Monday, mocked U.S. disapproval and joked about having an atomic bomb at their disposal.
And we should just ignore them. So what if they have a "big bomb" Many other countries do, and the fact is that any of them can throw or blow one without any warning. We should not buy into the mockery of these clowns.
These two tyrants are too close to being like Hitler and Stalin for the world to ignore them much longer .And it´s not just Israel and the U.S who think that. MANY Arab and Muslim countires will support a big attack against Iran and its nuke sites. For them the Ayatollahs ar the enemy.. not Israel. They will be happy when Iran is declawed of its perverted poisonous form of Islam. As for Chavez .he ´s a joke but if he tries anything funny I hope it´s not only the U.S but several Latin American countries that get rid of him. There are Muslim terrorist tells in Latin America the same who bombed 2 buildings in Bs Ar.He is a black stain and a beast for all of Latin Amerca!!
Keep your eyes on these 2 fools while the Corporate Raiders are manipulating US influence around the World. Pay no attention to the MAN behind the curtain. He is a trader/broker of Big Oil, Monster of Hatred, Capitalist Influence Adviser and Promoter of Fear Based Atrocities.
Ive said it before leave them alone. Its thier country why dont we keep our noses in America where it belongs with obamas ndaa and 86 senaters breaking thier oath to the constitution we need to fire them all!!! RON PAUL 2012!
This is absolutely ridiculous. For decades the US government has spent trillions of tax payers money on weapon manufacturing corporations, these corporations then spend the money on campaign contributions to help elect politicians who see "evil" all around them and also to lobby elected politicians to develop a foreign policy where "enemies" are chosen at random so more of the tax payers money can be spent on these same corporations to build even more weapons.
It's truly amazing how so many Americans can't see how they're being taking for a ride by these corporations and these politicians who in turn create think tanks that bombard the mainstream media with their "experts". The media, of course, always loves a good drama to help them sell their services to the rest of the country and so they go along with these "experts" and their warped view of the world.
Oh, but not to worry. The US is a free country after all. The media will make sure to invite the opposite view. Unfortunately, the people who disagree with the military-industrial complex don't have the money to help elect honest politicians who refuse to spend trillions of tax payers on an endless number of weapons.
And so it goes round and round, war after war, with the military-industrial complex addicted to government money given to them by politicians, and the people who elect these politicians, to enable this addiction to go on creating in the process a world of their own that completely ignores the realities and the history of the rest of the world.
And if any country wants to become an "ally" so they can get a piece of the pie all they have to do is to play along with the US and say, "But, of course, Venezuela, Iran, Palestinians, etc, all bad, very bad. Yes, we will help the US to keep the world "safe". Yes, please, give me that American money and those nifty American weapons to help us stay in power for the good of humanity."
I mean, really, for how long will Americans put up with this s**t?
Lusitania....have you never been just absolutely annoyed by a fly in your face? Of course, the fly in itself isn't a threat, but it's just gone beyond just an annoyance, and needs to be swatted. That would be Chavez and Ahamdenijad. Personally, I'd swat Natenyahu(sp) too just for good measure
Why wouldn't Ahmedinejad joke about nuclear weapons? Soon he will have them. That doesn't mean he will be able to use them.
He's a colossal jerk who cares little for the plight of innocent people if those people aren't 'like him'.
His days are numbered, as the Iranian people grow weary of sham elections and having an incompetent 'supreme' dictator hiding behind a pseudo-religious 'divine right' to rule doctrine. Ali Khamenei is not God, and Ahmendinejad is not God's prophet; he is merely the dictator's puppet.
American corporations should be sanctioned for doing business in these countries. Let the black market supply them with Coke and Pepsi. By what corrupt sense of morality do US businesses justify supplying these countries with products, services and jobs? Aiding and abetting countries that call for our annihilation by supporting their economy is good business? I don't think so.
Teddy Roosevelt had some good advice for US: "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
Unfortunately, during the Dick Cheney era our policy toward Iran was talk tough but never back up words with actions (and the invasion of Iraq backfired as substitute for direct action because it was so poorly managed).
You can't put toothpaste back in the tube without making an awful mess.
A nuclear-powered Iran is soon to be a fact of life. There is no more reason to declare war than there was when the Soviet Union, communist China, India, North Korea, or Pakistan developed the bomb. Iran can have a bomb, but they cannot use it with impunity.
Chuck, have you ever swatted at a fly, missed it, but hurt yourself?
While our leaders instill fear in our population with made up stories about weapons of mass destruction and images of mushroom clouds, they are robbing you blind and taking away your freedom and your civil rights. Go ahead, if you want, swat at the fly on your brow. You're just hitting yourself on the head. It's a perfect distraction. We're being exploited.
I was in Iran last month. Coke and Pepsi are widely available in Iran. The Pepsi cans say "Bottled in Mashad, Iran under the authority of Pepsico, New York".
When I was in Iran in 1998, you could not buy Coke or Pepsi, only the locally made ZamZam. Today it is hard to find ZamZam as Coke/Pepsi are everywhere.
ironically there is alot more them COKE being sold in both iran and venezuela from US firms ,in VZ american airconditioners are widely sold such as carrier and trane,GM cars are popular and some are even built there as well as ford, also daewoo"GM" was even making cars in iran from the 90's,all the US brands of computers are sold in both countries as well as spare parts ,so much for embargos
The misadventure in Iraq, will haunt us for many years to come; we took out Iran's arch enemy Iraq, they are now the big power of all the mid-eastern country's, they have developed nuclear weapons, they are not afraid to use them if threatened; our Media, Congress, all got in lock step with Bush and his chicken hawks; we are going to pay a heavy price for that mistake.
Wow, the US is really full of ignorant morons. This country truly is sad.
I was thinking thinking more along the lines of "a bunch of fcuk!n retards"...but I think what you said is sufficient.
Post after post, all I could do is shake my head.
So for the knuckleheads out there....as far as I know (and I'd like to think I know a bit), there has not been a SINGLE war in the history of the United States where it wasn't based on the material (or perceived material) interests of one group of people in the country. NOT ONE. Going right back to the revolutionary war and every one since.
The only thing that changes is whether or not we call a country communist or terrorist. Communist was the buzzword during the cold war and we threw it around all over the globe to justify sanctions and war. Of course no other country could tell the truth, and any dissenting opinion was unpatriotic. Now it's terrorism. We remain the only country in the history of the world to use nuclear weapons (at least one of which was just us showing off that we could), we have a stockpile that's unrivaled. We have the largest military of any country. We have more military bases (700 - 800) worldwide. WE ARE THE THREAT.
I was just having this conversation with a friend and as far as I can recollect, the ONLY time troops were used for any non-greed-based mission (aside from maybe some UN deployments) was when the National Guard had to escort black kids to the newly integrated schools.
The thinking people have been screaming about this for years and years.
We invaded Grenada for God sakes. To this day, people from the Caribbean still joke at the absurdity of that and the stupidity of the American people to believe the lies that led to it.
You would think after something like Grenada and Iraq, people might stop and think "hmm, we go to war based on lies...maybe I should question the propaganda next time".
People need to stop believing the media....they are doing what the gov't wants.....building up our fear of threat, so that we support another false war.
Iran CANNOT harm the U.S...they are of no threat...even Israel has admitted so....We need to leave Iran alone.....let them buid their power supply, as we have done, and as many other countries have. This is all PROPOGANDA.
Its amazing at how gullible and naive many are. Did you hear that Barbados is stockpiling massive weapons of mass destruction and that they are on a nuclear bomb buiding frenzy and that they said they want ti kill every american,....its true, fox will report it at 4:07 AM!!! On the fifth Monday of last month! Elmer Fudd even said.....we must be vewy vewy scared!
A great movie to watch "Wag the Dog" but it was amazing how this movie kinda disappeared after Bush/Cheney got into office. Maybe they took all the copies and used them as study material.
Emanuel, I have to say you are not incorrect for the wars before and after WWIand WWII. But in the World Wars, our hands were forced. Any conspiracy theories anyone wants to bring up about the Lusitania (WWI) or Pearl Harbor may or may not contain merit, but we did try and stay out of those conflicts. We were drug in against our will. In the case of WWII, what we found once we got there justified any involvement.
It would be great to cut off their supply of Coca-Cola and Pepsi, as well as any other item made or having its parent plant in the US. I don't know if there are plants in Iran and Venezuela which make these soft drinks, but if there are, they should be closed down. There are ways which we more than support these terror-mongers that must be stopped.
Iran Air uses GE engines on its Airbus aircraft. It is easy to find lots of US good in Iran - Pringles, Betty Crocker Cake Mix, Coke/Pepsi/Mountain Dew, Oreo cookies, Whirlpool, GE, Microsoft Office... the sanctions simply don't work.
You can buy Coca Cola and 7Up in North Korea too... I've done it.
You make some very good points, but your description of America's wars is extremely oversimplified. The result is a very narrow-minded and radical view of our military history.
Like I said in another thread regarding the no protest against the Taliban over a bombing in Pakistan:"They love their enemies and hate their friends out there, you wouldn't understand.....My best guess is they are all on drugs."
All the parties certainly are mostly COMPROMISED. The whole thing stinks to high Heaven. Morality is only for the worker bee back home who's supposed to be a peon. That is social corruption right there.
Simply a pair of dunces portraying themselves as a pair of big, powerful dictators, who really are nothing but a pair of impotent, and small dictoters.
Simply a pair of dunces portraying themselves as a pair of big, powerful dictators, who really are nothing but a pair of impotent, and small dictoters
If this is the case....should we be bothering them? Should we be ready to risk our soldiers on "impotent, small dictoters"? Or should we just mind our own business...since they are a "pair of dunces"?
I think we should focus on our own country, because there is no threat!
there has not been a SINGLE war in the history of the United States where it wasn't based on the material (or perceived material) interests of one group of people in the country
In general, a nation goes to war with another because of two possible reasons. Those are:
To gain possession of material resources (e.g. land, water rites, mineral rites).
To force their idealogy on others.
If you look at WWI and WWII, those were about material/land possessions. If you look at the Cursades, that was about idealogy. Veitnam was aobut idealogy and land. Korea was about idealogy and land. Civil War was about idealogy. Etc.
Your post is a bit simplistic in its concept. It is making a judgement that all war actions based on the gain of material resources is wrong. That is a naive idea. If someone up a river damns up a river to the point where you are not able to grow any of your crops, in your definition/judgement it would be wrong for you to fight for that right to grow crops. Furthermore if someone decides that three buildings you own are to be destroyed with all life inside regardless of the fact that you want them to be destroyed, your definition/judgement is that it would be wrong to fight that.
Lets face it people, we can dream that all nations would not use nuclear weapons. We can dream that all leaders would not decide that their desires/beliefs/etc should not be pressed on others. But dreaming does not make it true. In this case, you need to ask yourself the following two questions:
Do you believe that Iran is not presently attempting to create a nuclear weapon?
What will your state of being be should your belief be incorrect?
Great. When are you leaving? Don't forget your rifle. Have fun "seizing" Iran and bringing them democracy. The rest of us will re-build our country and put a yellow-ribbon magnet on a car for you.
Great. When are you leaving? Don't forget your rifle. Have fun "seizing" Iran and bringing them democracy. The rest of us will re-build our country and put a yellow-ribbon magnet on a car for you
This sounds a bit disingenuous with regards honoring people that decide to serve their country and go where the politicians, that were choose by the voters, tell them too. This statement further implies that those in the service do not "re-build our country" like the rest of you.
What IF we bomb their nuclear sites....and then just ignore them? I mean, seriously. What are they gonna do? it may be a stupid way to think about it. Or not. It's not like they can bomb us from where they're at....Hit it and quit it, ya know?
The "free" press which carried water for the warmongers in Washington as they made a joke of Americans and their troops by invading Iraq over nonexistant WMD is at it again
The press is not so much free afterall. But what was most disturbing about Iraq WMD lies was an almost deafening silence by the artist community - the actors, painters, sculptures and so on.
911 had such a deep impact on American psyche that people didn't speak out either out of fear or anger - both of which were obviously the wrong reaction that the neocons leveraged.
Oh Yeah! Everybody stops to listen to the actors, painters, sculptors and so on when they "talk" about the state of the world. Especially the actors - whose self importance is based upon their box office appeal. The artistic community has found out the hard way that they cannot "sway" the people on real world issues. While I admire their abilities within their field, I place no weight upon their words. The artistic community is a sanctuary for people in bad times, not leaders, they are not built for it.
Regarding JP's headline - Here's one to counter - Kurdish people killed using WMDs - Do you think they were happy that Saddam had WMD's? Do you remember the pictures from the "free/liberal" press of men/women/children lying dead in their villages?
I spoke out, and it cost me. I could clearly see what was going on, but when I spoke out, I was frowned upon by my own family members. When people are blinded by nationalistic fervor, they are very vulnerable. Anyone who maintained their cool could see the WMD thing was total bullcrap. The information was out there. The UN weapons inspector Hans Blix told us the truth, but people were so hell-bent on revenge against somebody, anybody, they chose to ignore him. The Cheney-Rumsfield-Wolfowitz plan to invade Iraq, which they had advocated for years, was within their reach, and they exploited every angle they could to see it manifested.
Same, caballojoe. I was called every name in the book by people who claimed to be friends and family, but they sure didn't treat me as such. Today, most of them deny having ever said it and the few that admit it claim that "nobody could have possibly known.. you were just guessing."
Chavez has done an admirable job with the resources he has in Venezuela. We take lightly our own rhetoric about bombing other countries (see the ironic 3.1 below) but when they enjoy the same rhetoric, it's national headline news here. This man is not a threat to the United States, but the United States is a threat to him and his country and he understands that. Where capitalism doesn't exist, the United States creates it through bombing under false pretenses. He's right to be on the defensive. The United States is a scary, bitter enemy to have.
Chavez said during a joint press conference. "They're the threat."
I will have to agree with him, no one is messing with US right now but we love to look for trouble especially with people who refuse to kiss our a s...s
We American love to fix holes even when there is no leak!!!!!!
it s amazing to know when people by the hundreds of thousands were been killed in Ruwanda in Africa, we did little to help and it was too late when we did but we were not so much concern, All the sudden! US is building pressure to go to war maybe with Iran because of its nuclear program Iran claims is peaceful.
I look at it as pick and chose with us! we dont do anything for free! but we pretent we do it for freedom and democracy bow s h i....t
Agreed. I too as attacked and vilified by friends and family who called me "naive" for telling the truth. It was easy to see that Bush and his ilk were lying. Yet, the blind nationalism and hatred warped reality. People stopped thinking.
I was and still am reminded of this famous quote:
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.
-Herman Goreing at the Nuremberg Trials
It's an old lesson that we Americans have yet to learn.
americans sure are idiots. Nuke em ???? How does that make you any different than what you are complaining about with the 2 leaders of this article. I believe these 2 are correct. The real devil is the usa !!!!
Chavez said during a joint press conference. "They're the threat."
I will have to agree with him, no one is messing with US right now but we love to look for trouble especially with people who refuse to kiss our a s...s
We American love to fix holes even when there is no leak!!!!!!
Misery loves company...They just need to get together to whisper "sweet nothings" to each other while they build up enough confidence to face a world that truly hates them.
Imagine, having to fly half way around the world for a "circle jerk"
That's how u feel about Iran and Venezuela (and probably a few dozen more countries that you can not spot on the map). That's how I feel about "major" powers such as England and France. But again I consider most of GOPers jerking each other too. Come to think of it, what's difference between Nixon visiting China, and a baboon from Iran visiting Venezuela? Aside from the potential money making involved, I can't think of a difference.
I don't feel that way about Iran or Venezuela, and though I wouldn't use that particular metaphor, I do think Bob has a very valid point about Ahmedinejad and Chavez.
Both Iran and Venezula are going to go broke soon, because their main source of income is oil, and the price will be dropping dramatically soon as the markets realize that mankind is going to switch to LENR to save A LOT of money:
There is a new clean energy technology that is one tenth the cost of coal. LENR using nickel. Incredibly: Ni+H(heated under pressure)=Cu+lots of heat.
This phenomenon (LENR) has been confirmed in hundreds of published scientific papers:
"Over 2 decades with over 100 experiments worldwide indicate LENR is real, much greater than chemical..." --Dennis M. Bushnell, Chief Scientist, NASA Langley Research Center
"Energy density many orders of magnitude over chemical." Michael A. Nelson, NASA
"Total replacement of fossil fuels for everything but synthetic organic chemistry." --Dr. Joseph M. Zawodny, NASA
Brad, most Americans know nothing about LENR and have no desire to learn. Cold fusion information has been around for years, just like improved battery technology, alternative energy, atmospheric seeding, and global warming. They don't seem to care about informing themselves of the enormous benefits of scientific advancement, they just want instant gratification with little regard for any long term consequences. LENR has huge potential, but I am concerned about government and big business impeding the development. With 600-800 trillions of dollars worth of oil still waiting to be pumped, I doubt this nanotechnology will reach the marketplace anytime soon. Our true technological innovation is either bought, shelved, or irradicated all for the love of money. I could cite numerous examples, but why bother. Most people have been indoctrinated to accept whatever propaganda delivered on the 6 o'clock news. IMHO, our future looks pretty bleak, but when the time arises that we have no other option than to amend our ways, it may then be too late.
Transmuting elemental nickel into elemental copper?
Better to stick with the tired and true technology. Why not just transmute lead into gold and buy all the energy resources you need? This process has been confirmed by hundreds of published documents regarding alchemy going back hundreds and even thousands of years.
Sad, but we will not be switching to anything! LENR (which i do not know anything about) will be killed by the oil companies, just like the bio-diesel industry, just like the guy who created a way to make his engine run on water. In the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Stanislaw Brzynski has discovered an alternative to chemotherapy,...he was taken to court 11 times by texas, he was fought by the FDA, and the NCI (National Cancer Institute) and was eventually robbed of his patents...since a big phRma company supposedly wanted to fund his discovery, but stole his idea and patented it. Now it is FDA approved....(one catch) the FDA claims it works only after chemotherapy. Look at hemp...it threatened Dupont's new invention at the time...Nylon, and Dupont's (sister i believe) was married to a man named William Randoph Hearst, a wood-pulp paper businessmogul who feared help threatened their huge $$$.
Basically, what i am saying is if it doesnt make $$$ for these big industries...they will either not let it enter the market place, and if you are persistent, they will then just kill you.
The "Big Atomic Bomb" will go down just like "The Mother of all Battles" with Saddam at the helm. We won the "Battle" , and Saddam is gone. Next will either be Ahmadinejad, or Chavez... good luck fellas..... your on our "Mother of all Hits list!! "And we don't mean music.....!!!!" lalalalalalalalalalalalala!!!!
No we H bombs(which make the A bomb look like a pop gun) and one of our subs carries 24 missiles and each missile have mirv war head which has 10 independently guided warheads. So just one of our subs(we use to keep 50 or so on station) can target 240 of their city’s or military targets(I don’t think they have that many cities or targets) …I will not be losing any sleep over these two clowns
That is precisely what Ron Paul has been saying for years, but most people have selective hearing. Try to remember that guns don't kill people, people kill people, and the "Bomb" is no different. It is essentially harmless until some political mogul gives the order to push the button. If the American people truly believe you can stop the proliferation of nuclear weaponry, then they are living in the Dark Ages. It may be delayed but not stopped. Educate people concerning the consequences of detonation, not development, and maybe they will decide to use intellect instead of intimidation to manage the technology. China has evolved into a global economic powerhouse, and they have done so without warmongering but by controlling a large portion of our former industry and current debt, which many people believe we can simply default on, just like home mortgages. The problem is that China has thousands of nuclear warheads as well a way to deliver them to the heart of this country, and I believe they would not hesitate to use them if they feel at all threatened. When the former Soviet Union fell, there were at least a half dozen suitcase size nuclear bombs that are still unaccounted for, but no one seems at all concerned about the location of those nukes, which according to some articles I have read, may already be planted inside our borders. Please understand that once Pandora's Box is opened, you can't just shut the lid and stop what has already been released, and you can't put it back into the box.
Commonsense, bigots do deserve freedom, not to oppress but to speak. If people aren't free to speak about what others find disagreeable, then it isn't free speech. Let the bigots, that would basically be all of us, speak freely and let people sort out what to believe...
You probably shouldn't panic unless you happen to be the one he drops that bomb on. While he may (or may not) drop the bomb on us, just how quick do you think it will escalate from a regional to a larger (world) war?
sandnomad
China also has their own version of imperialism - making deals with a lot of countries in Africa for instance - locking up that country's resources for China's benefit. You think China will retaliate on us defaulting on our debts by nuking us? Cmon, get real. Educating the owners of nukes what will happen if they detonate one on us (or someone else) called MAD - from the Cold War is the way to go. But that wouldn't stop someone like Ahmadinejad from trying it. He is just that arrogant to think he can survive the end game.
China is helping Africa build their own industry, of course with reaping rewards of their own! But that is a good thing all around. We claim to help by giving money, while keeping them in the same position. China is teaching them to work....and maintain an industry....and lets them get involved in building their country!
Ahmadinejad has a reason to want to build the nuclear plant....he says power....The US gov't says its for a bomb! (we also said Iraq had WMD's) Could we be wrong??? Maybe, maybe not???? Should we go to war, based on maybe???
If so, then should we allow our police to enter our homes based on "maybe"....should i be allowed to kill you, because one day....just maybe....you might kill me????
"The only bombs we're preparing are bombs against poverty, hunger and misery," added Chavez, saying Iranian constructors have built 14,000 new homes in Venezuela recently. So Chavez gives construction jobs to foreigners to alleviate the poverty of his people. Um, yeah, if he says so.
Also note that Citgo ( Venezuelan nationalized oil co.) has refineries all over the US. Do you think for one minute that our gubmint will shut them down? Chavez needs the US market. Venezuelan crude has a very high sulfur content and there's very few plants outside of the US that can process the crap.
"the war drums against Iran are just as falsely beaten as the ones that were against Iraq." Really? You aren't the least bit concerned about Iran's growing nuclear capability?
Wow... How does Pepsi and Coke have anything to do with IRAN nuclear program? The sanctions are targeted at hurting anyone involved with their nuclear program idiots.
I swear people are so retarded it's not even funny.
So you do know that Chavez want's IRANs missiles that can hit America to be hosted in their country, and they are helping IRAN in anyway possible get the bomb.
Chavez also wants Russian bombers to be station on it's soil, along with Russian missiles.
So go ahead and mock your own country, and continue to have no clue.
It's discouraging to watch the sheeple swallow the propaganda.
Both of these guys came from humble beginnings. Before Chavez, 80% of the Venezuelan people lived in abject poverty with virtually no access to health care or basic services. Before the Iranian revolution when the Shah held power, the same existed in Iran. Now, citizens of both countries have access to health care, basic transportation, and basic needs/services. In both cases, these leaders have decreased the poverty rates and income inequality in their countries. They did this by taking the oil wealth (and other resource wealth) and ensuring that it went to the people. While Iran did much of it suddenly, Venezuela has obtained many of the corporate-controlled resources through purchased acquisitions.
Wealth to the people? Power to the people? Oh no - that ain't gonna fly. It's too important that the establishment control the wealth and the people - it's too important for corporations to control those resources and sihpon the wealth to an established few. Oh, what ever will those poor millionaires do? Can't be having leaders do $hit like this for their citizens.
Here's what you do: Demonize them. Flood the world with propaganda. Make people scream "nuke them" and other dim-witted slogans. Provide selective, loose translations of their words and convince the weak-minded minions that these mean old dictators are out to rule the world.
Truly, it's sad - because both countries could be strategic trading partners - and yes, there might be some cherished super-rich few that might make a little less money, but on the whole, it would be good for the citizens of all countries involved.
But the greed of a few won't allow this to happen. I'm sure some so-called conservative patriot may attack this post for being un-American in that I'm not participating in the 2 minutes hate (that's from 1984 for any of you illiterate folks), but if you look behind the curtain at what's really going on, the world makes a lot more sense. This good guy/bad guy stuff from the comic books isn't reality.
Having actually been in Ven on and off for the past 25 years it is obvious you really have no clue what Hugo has done to the economy there or how he has done it.
Bob, I lived and worked in Venezuela from 1946 to 1958 and I agree with you regarding the poverty, widespread illiteracy, and lack of basic resources that existed in one of the richest countries in the Americas before Chavez rose to power. Unfortunately, while it is true that he has improved the standard of living of most Venezuelans, it is also true that he is a megalomaniac leader intent on becoming the Simon Bolivar of the 21st century and to achieve that he has been squandering much of the national treasure in Quixotic quests designed to elevate his stature throughout the hemisphere instead of focusing on the well being and the future of his people.
To our credit, we have refrained from overt intervention or retaliation. Hopefully we will continue to ignore his antics.
And in support of your post, if he improved healthcare so much, why did he have his cancer treatment in cuba? Makes you wonder just how good it is with him at the helm, that he, unlike his people, can leave and get treatment somewhere else, most likely with state squandered monies as he has nationalized all business".
Wow Bob you really have it all figured out, you sound just like Hugo himself. Bob you should visit a communist country some time sounds like you would love it there and if you choose to move I support you. I think all of you commies should find your utopia.
" Venezuela has obtained many of the corporate-controlled resources through purchased acquisitions."
Purchased? He pretty much gave them nothing for many of those resources. He did not purchase. This went in the face of court cases which granted those companies a certain amount. And on top of that, they have stayed in power by changing their laws to allow longer terms. They are not elected officials. They are maintaining a strangle hold on power.
Brovo Clap Clap Bob. They don't teach you all this but the US has a history of setting up puppet governments. Lets not forget how our Government tricked us into Iraq. You have to be plan stupid to fall for it again. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Leave them people alone and focus on getting Americans jobs. Or how about reforming our Judicial system.
But then I remember Ahmadinejad going in front of the UN and declaring the Holocaust was a hoax and 9/11 was orchestrated by the US government(He said this in NYC!), Chavez's constant barking at the US, and the tens(hundreds?) of thousands of political prisoners in both countries.
Those points(and more) make me lose all credibility for these two. The fact they are joking about nukes is the icing on the cake. While I don't currently support a war against either of these countries, I will support what is necessary if/when the time comes for action. Just as the US is guilty of maintaining imposing military presences in places it's not welcome, these two are equally guilty of prodding the US with the intent of escalating tension.
Unfortunately, I firmly believe the world would be a better place without these two and the governments they operate.
So, how is "destroy Israel" a loose translation? Apparently you are the one disconnected from reality if you dont believe that there are bad guys out there. Just what curtain are you looking behind Bob? You say that weak minded minions fall for propaganda when your the one falling for the propaganda of these maniacs. They do enough for their people to keep them satisfied, cant have the populance uprising on you now can ya. They dont truly have their citizen's welfare and happiness in mind, they see them as an asset and that asset has upkeep. You cant send thousands of men and boys on suicide charges if they are sick, malnourished and untrustful of their government like Iran did in their last war against Iraq. Thousands of unarmed men charged heavily armed Iraqis in the name of their leader and country. How do you think they got them to do that, and where do you think the leaders were? Middle east muslim countries have a long memory, a selective memory, but one that goes back centuries and that is prevalent in their policies today.Take Isreal for instance, they say it belongs to the Palenstines, but the Palenstines took it from the Jews, the Jews simply took it back. They dont mention that when they say the Jews must be destroyed. Iran still thinks of themselves as the great Persian empire of ancient times and will do what they can to regain what was lost. Power to the citizens? Power to the people? Why all the uprisings? Do YOU really know what is going on behind the curtains,as for Chavez,he's not working off of any ages old beliefs. His is good ole modern greed, greed for wealth and power for himself, not the people. How does a rancher keep his livestock? Well fed, healthy, warm, dry, happy-until they are led to slaughter. OPEN YOUR EYES. By they way,Im not a conservative. If you must label me, Im a realist. one who see's thru the biased rhetoric of liberals and Conservatives.
Maybe people would understand it better if we painted Gadhafi in next to these guys? He would probably be the third stooge in Caracas if he wasn't six feet under. Same goes for Kim Jong-Il.
Yes, before Chavez there were a lot of poverty in Venezuela. People just like in this country were expected to go out and get a job. Now with Chavez, he HAS taken the countries money and given towards the people. Pay them to go back to school to graduate from high school and he gives them lunches while they do it. He has given them a lot over the last several years. WHY? Because just like all comunist countries he knows that there's more poor than rich people. Make the poor people happy, give them what they want and once you have them all on your side then you control them. Control thru graditude or violence. Anyone that didn't vote during election for Chavez, he has your name. You will get nothing from that point on. It's been proven over and over. I say take him out just like he planned to do to the last President.
Your post is full of blatant lies - and you espouse them as facts:
Example: Nobody ever said anything about destroying Israel. In fact, do some homework and you'll find that "wiping Israel off the map" wasn't even stated. That was one line pulled out of a speech translated incorrectly (on purpose) by an Israeli PR firm....I'm sure that's unbiased. The speech talked about tyrannical regimes, including the USSR, that had disappeared from the pages of time. You, now, interpret that as every citizen of Iran calling for the destruction of Israel. As for "Palestinians taking land from the Jews," that was 70 AD - Jews and Arabs lived in Trans-Jordan in peace in the 19th century long before apartheid policies started segregating them. And by that logic, shouldn't all of us Europeans get our a$$e$ back to Europe? We took this from the Native Americans who were here much longer than the Hebrews were in the so-called "promised land." And who are these thousands of unarmed Iranians charging Iraqis? What in the h3ll are you talking about? The 1980-1988 war? The one we encouraged? The one where the US supplied arms to both sides? The one where Rumsfeld was over there lapping out of Hussein's hand? That one?
Here's a basic economic principle that so-called capitalist conservatives don't get: wealth is a finite entity. A country like the US has a tremendous amount of it - and it's why we can live in a free market society and the middle class can prosper (even though it's going in the wrong direction - but we're still a wealthy country). Many countries have less wealth - less to distribute - and less to provide to the people - so they can't afford free market capitalism, US-style - because wealth is not some big, infinite hole of money that you can just get plenty of if you work hard enough. They have to work harder at distribution - they have to be harder on private companies to ensure the small amount of wealth they have doesn't matriculate to a select few.
So call me lefist, commie, pinko, socialist - whatever - but I don't care what you say. You're espousing so-called facts based on rhetoric that's been spewed repeatedly by your friends at the corporate/government controlled media.
And you're a realist? Yeh - towing the party line - that makes you a realist. Keep believing that.
Of course, this the same Chavez who has nationalized the oil service there, rather than pay the $13 billion the Venezuelan PDVSA owed them.
In spite of experiencing an oil boom the likes of which the country has never seen before, his government has managed to turn it into a shambles. It has one of the highest rates of inflation in the region, one of the lowest economic growth rates (even including the oil boom), and it's actually having to import oil to restore power to portions of the country.
Average Latin American economic growth in 2010: 6%; Venezuelan economic growth in 2010: -1.6%
The power outages, facing almost all of the nation except the capital, are the first in the recent history.. so, yeah, Chavez is really doing great for his people.
In my opinion, and as a Venezuelan, Chavez has done nothing positive for Venezuela. Ask any person who wants to work and earn a decent living what they think of him. But if you ask the social leeches that are just waiting for a handout they will tell you differently. Progress isn't free money given by the government to those who don't want to work just to stay in power. Socialism doesn't work, it never has a never will.
Many countries have less wealth - less to distribute - and less to provide to the people - so they can't afford free market capitalism
so I guess that is why China opened up with capitalism in their country and their economy took off
and while ahmendijab did not make the comment about destroying Israel, it WAS the IRANIAN News Agency that supplied the translation that did include the comment about destroying Israel
it's funny, while you have some points, all you are really doing is just spewing extremist rhetoric yourself with a few facts in between
You're right on with China - but it's government-controlled capitalism - tightly regulated - as Adam Smith, the father of capitalism, said that is has to be in order to keep all wealth from moving to a select few. You too bring up a great point.
But I would ask - what is "extremist rhetoric"? I'm just pointing out propaganda and the people that swallow it. And I seek truth in propaganda - and you'll find that truth really scares the living h3ll out of people. They don't want truth. They like propaganda - it requires less thinking. Further to the point, it doesn't even have to be believable - it's just got to be good enough for the people to make excuses as to why they don't speak up and say anything. Old Hitler strategy, actually - just repeat the same lies over and over, and people believe it's God-spoken fact.
The truth is scary. It scares people to think that they may be getting lied to. Scares people even more that citizens of another country may be just as human as they are. Scares them even more to think that the right thing to do might be to stand up and speak out against the propaganda machine.
If teabaggers become anything other than a fringe distraction, I'm afraid the US will deserve all this mockery, and more. Even now the world is laughing at teabaggers, but they're not seen as much more than a sideshow carnival at this point.
No they are laughing at the present administration. I doubt they know of or are concerned about the tea party at this point. They are laughing at the sissy way we deal with problems. Sanctions = I'm not going to share my toys with you. That is why they laugh.
Keep taking your Chemo chavez and with a little white face, you could try out for a Ghostbusters remake. May the "Big Bomb" that you and you're "A-Hole Buddy" I-m-a-Mad-man are joking about, strike both your houses first.
They did not attack us on 9/11…nor did Iraq …try again….and this time try THINKING…I know it’s something new to you and anything new to you scares you but try it any way.
phillykevin, Instead of attacking others, why not get your own house in order ? Philly sports fans are the most violent and ignorant in the U.S. !!! They vomit on opposing fans, throw things at other fans and on the field, and have a mob mentality after events. If you want a more peaceful world, work on starting at the base and working up.
PhillyKevin "attacked" Samo because apparently Samo cannot be bothered to rub the last two brains cells he's got together long enough to create a spark. His post was idiotic and immature, and completely void of any thought process. If it takes another adult on this forum to correct Mr. Samo's idiotic thinking, then so be it, and it is hardly considered an "attack".
Besides, you attacked Philly. THEN you went on and on about Philadelphia's supposed violent sports fans...as if THAT has anything to do with the current topic at hand, much less with any real truth to it.
So there, Dragon, you imbecile. I'm attacking YOU. How's it feel?? Go join the rest of the "nuke 'em" crowd who can barely manage to get out of their own way, much less engage in political debate with intelligent people. I'm tired of stupid people. It's even more exhausting to have to constantly correct people's backwards thinking.
Hell, if you want to go "kill them all" with Samo, please go sign up and make sure you're the first to fight another illegal war of aggression. I'll send your mother a nice card after your funeral.
Wow I I’m deeply insulted that you took all that time to insult my city and forgot some of the best parts
We threw snowballs at Santa Claus and the dallas cowgirls…and we even boo ballgirl/boys if they drop the ball….yes we done all that (and yes I liked the dallas one lol) but for the most part we don’t do Stupid things like go to war for no reason ….but yes we will throw a snowball at you if come to our city…
Haha, these guys are funny.. nothing like humor to bring you out of a @!$%#-storm... The truth is the USA sucks, and we're meddling in too much of the worlds crap. Sanctions are the first step on the road to war, so if war is the cause of the sanctions then it's no wonder we're hated... haha, we're building bombs to stop poverty, hunger, man that dudes funny.. I don't take the media's word for it. I look for proof. So far, there is none. Iranian's nuclear program is peaceful so far, and we have no reason to go to war. No wonder everyone around the world hates America.
Robert that is such a childish response. "Well if you don't like it you can just leave!!" Give me a break. He can just leave or he can voice his opposition to our hypocritical and dangerous policies, or he can become a sheep like yourself. I love this country, but I still think that in regards to foreign policy we are quite simply terrible, because we let special interest instead of logic and reason dictate our policy
I agree concerning special interests, but logic and reason are not good tools when dealing with a madman. That is to say do not expect logic and reason from either one. They both operate on special interests, retaining their positions and power, and will twist truth and spin reality for their people. That being said, although they may not all be madmen, too many of our politicians do the same.
So, since you don't trust intelligence reports, we should just wait until you see a bomb detonated and then act ? I agree that our foreign policy needs to be changed, but probably in a much different way than you. All aid should be shut off and troops returned to U.S. soil. We should close the borders and take care of our country by putting people to work and not socializing the country by giving hand outs. If businesses fail, they fail, no more bail outs. We need to eliminate the two party system, institute term limits, and make lobbyists public enemy #1.
We should get our military out of all of Europe, let the boneheads build their bombs and blow each other up. Worry about protecting ourselves and let Europe protect itself. If we could get the environmental wackos to shut up long enough we could have all the energy we need right here at home.
Sure, go frack the f--k out of our terra firma and destroy our clean water resources. Go build massive oil rigs just outside that gorgeous beach you enjoy laying around on. Go fire up the inefficient coal plants that pump millions of tons of toxis @!$%# into our atmosphere every year. Heck, while you're at it....just go f--k our entire continent with your money-grubbing, short-sighted, neanderthallic mentality.
WHO CARES if the earth remains a beautiful place to live, right??
I mean, who the f--k needs to bother with clean air, clean water, fertile soils, abundant ecology..........right??? If you get sick, you can just take some pills, right??
Just be sure to remind your great-grandkids (assuming you live long enough) that you do NOT care about them or anyone else's kids, so long as you and your friends could make money here today! Show the love, man!!!!!
Yes, but do they know why he did not want a second world war?? Read about the man and form your own opinion. It is just like the canard that the French are cowards: read about the French Resistance and imagine how you would have acted. It is easy for Americans - who wouldn't even turn the east coast city lights off thus allowing German U-boats to easily spot ships and sink them - to be critical of people when they haven't suffered anything themselves.
For anyone who thinks Neville Chamberlain was a coward...please go sign up your kids to fight on the front lines in the next illegal war.
Let them die. THEN the world will not have to be subjected to your family's idiotic warmongering bulls--t anymore.
If you want to fight, go fight. I don't care. Just don't use MY taxpayer money to fund your wars. And don't you dare consider rounding up more poor man's sons to go and die for you all. 99% of the world's population simply want peace and tranquility, a nice job, a roof, enough food, and a quiet place to raise their kids.
The other 1%, like Marvin and the rest of the warmongering fools, can fight these wars themselves.
Neville Chamberlain as a hero - really? Maybe his goal was to keep his country safe but in the end history showed the fallacy of that goal and the decision. Question - do we have the same mind set? Can you appease a madman? Do we have the luxury (distance) that was available at that time? The world right now cannot afford the luxury of letting an issue "play out" because the end result could very easily be right at our door step.
Regarding the French, yes the Resistance was a major factor in WWII. The French got the cowards label, in part, due to the terrorist era of the 70's and their making deals with known terror groups providing free passage in exchange for no more attacks.
Mental midgets the both of them. If brains were gasoline, these two could not propel a piss ant's motorcycle around the head of a ball point pen!!! They remind me of the current crop of republican presidential candidates, so SAD!
I'd take either one them over the garbage we get to pick from for president. Gotta love the sheep in this country though, they do provide a good laugh every now and then.
OpenMike/LOL - I know - Let's invite both of them to address the Congress and when they criticize our country, the Democrats, led by Pelozi, will stand up and applaud! Was that a proud moment in our country's history or what? Any other country, especially the ones that they lead, the speaker would be hauled off and jailed (or shot "while escaping").
These are two irrelevant idiots pretending to be relevant on the world stage. With the exception of the media, which does not miss an opportunity to elevate the importance of buffoons like this, nobody else cares what these idiots do or say. Most importantly, they should learn how to count, or better yet, understand the difference between one bomb and 8,000 nuclear warheads with thousands of ICBMs and intermediate range missiles ready to deliver them.
watch my back with these to coke heads, obama keeps up his bullcrap and not start drilling or even get that pipeline going, these two countries will be giving us oil in canoes, keep their mouth's shut already and , just maybe we all can get along.
We blame Iran for so much against Iraq but we easily forget about the chemical weapons that Sadam used to kill 15k Iranian civilians that our government funded. That is what happens when you poke your nose in other nations conflicts.
These two guys have the same intelligence, wisdom, and maturity than Sarah Palin. The only difference is that, in this country, people would never elect somebody that stupid for President.
A country which elected a chipmunk like GW Bush has every reason to fear the results of next election... apparently even D Trump has a chance to be our next president... what a scary thought...
Kind of too late. Americans have already elected an idiot by the name of OBAMA. Which begs the question, How do you elect someone with a brain when 60% of the electorate is brain dead?
After W I thought anything would have been a improvement …but after seeing this year circus that the republicans are putting forth …hell Perry’s making w almost smart and that in itself is a hell of a achievement…lol ….Obama is getting the job done even with the republicans trying to stop him…lol
And what of that Kennedy guy with the 60's haircut who's in Chavez's pocket? Mr. Citgo, I mean. Isn't he acting on behalf of a foreign power? Isn't he offering some sort of aid and comfort to an enemy? Is he doing what good guys do? Is he registered as their agent? Anybody buying their bilge?
And I say permit the DEVELOPMENT of alternative energy, and you won't need foreign oil at all. But, I doubt the oil industry would allow it, and if you read, you would understand that they have been hindering the development for years.
dumm comment, why are the People her are so full of fear, the only fear i see is the Gov in in this country , Iran never invade in the history any other Country, Nicaragua never invade in his history any other country, only the US (we have the Power aditude)think about it.
What did Venezuala or Iran do to America? The only thing that ties them together is their disobedience to the American corporate interests. Nukes are an excuse to paint them in a bad picture in the eyes of the public to lay ground for military intervention if economic sanctions don't work. Iranian central bank is a threat because it is not a Rothschild bank. Most of you are defending your own slavery.
Let's not forget who is the only country ever to use an atomic bomb on innocent women and children. Those who espouse and promote war are complicit even though they don't pull the trigger or drop the bombs. You would think those people would worry about the karmic repercussions of their support for war.
And we should just ignore them. So what if they have a "big bomb" Many other countries do, and the fact is that any of them can throw or blow one without any warning. We should not buy into the mockery of these clowns.
The sabres of war are being rattled.
This could get ugly fast.
Why does our military/media always give the impression we're chasing the devil,
Please don't get involved with another endless War which would result in nothing but losing Innocent and American lives.
"BArt" you win the "Godwin's law" award for the day!
Teddy Roosevelt had some good advice for US: "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
Downsizing our military now is not a good idea.
Hitler and Mussolini. What a great picture of two of the whackiest people on the planet. Bomb shelter anyone?
Wow, the US is really full of ignorant morons. This country truly is sad.
MosinEur:
I just noticed your spelling of Ahmadinejad in post number 1 - THAT IS HILARIOUS! LOL
Idiot leaders joking about bombing is not funny, including Reagan and McCain.
Surely you aren't suggesting that we restrict or inhibit precious capitalism, are you? How communist!
Emanuel:
@MacForrester
In general, a nation goes to war with another because of two possible reasons. Those are:
So what is your answer to those?
Warmongering by people like you. Creating a pretext to attack yet another country. That's what I see.
Great. When are you leaving? Don't forget your rifle. Have fun "seizing" Iran and bringing them democracy. The rest of us will re-build our country and put a yellow-ribbon magnet on a car for you.
This sounds a bit disingenuous with regards honoring people that decide to serve their country and go where the politicians, that were choose by the voters, tell them too. This statement further implies that those in the service do not "re-build our country" like the rest of you.
This just occured to me....
What IF we bomb their nuclear sites....and then just ignore them? I mean, seriously. What are they gonna do? it may be a stupid way to think about it. Or not. It's not like they can bomb us from where they're at....Hit it and quit it, ya know?
Maybe they can't say Nukular....Nuklear....Nuclear
The "free" press which carried water for the warmongers in Washington as they made a joke of Americans and their troops by invading Iraq over nonexistant WMD is at it again
- there, fixed the headline for you
The press is not so much free afterall.
JP, you are so right! The news media don't report the news, they are the servant of these traitors in washington!
America needs to repent of thier sins: Abortion, Homosexuality, drunkness, drug, music, helly-wood, etc, etc.
Maxeemas- In the words of a loveable baby from Family Guy... You poor fool. You poor poor fool.
Agreed. I too as attacked and vilified by friends and family who called me "naive" for telling the truth. It was easy to see that Bush and his ilk were lying. Yet, the blind nationalism and hatred warped reality. People stopped thinking.
I was and still am reminded of this famous quote:
It's an old lesson that we Americans have yet to learn.
I agree
William : you watch too much TV = BRAIN WASH
Nuke the bastards!
Yeah, nuke them... What an original post by a brainless person.
"Gotta nuke something."
-Nelson
I was wondering how long before some idiot would say that.
americans sure are idiots.
We American love to fix holes even when there is no leak!!!!!!
it should be up to the people to vote and decide for War and Addition to President Plan
The president of United State goes by / make decision based on info he collects from the Gov. if we should go to war or not!
Previous Gov fooled W.Bush and had no choice but to go to war with Iraq!
is this whats happening now again?
And I'm pretty good with maps.
As much as I agree, I really didn't need that image.
Just kidding!
Ah, must be a LENR salesman or someone who owns stock in a LENR start up.
LENR?? Yeah I got a car that run on free water and free air and it is clean too. Want to buy one cheap for $10,000? A sucker is born every minute.
How much pressure, and will it fit in my vehicle? And to ditto 'commonsense' - nickel to copper - really??
Call me a liberal but I have not and will not lose 1 second of sleep over either of these 2 nitwits.
liberal
Had to be done. Thank you Brian for taking care it...
Why, exactly am I supposed to be panicing if they build a "Bomb"?
Don't we have something like 5,000 of these things?
Sorry news media, I'm not buying into your warmongering panic....
He's also been saying that bigots deserve the freedom to oppress others, but some people have selective hearing.
Commonsense, bigots do deserve freedom, not to oppress but to speak. If people aren't free to speak about what others find disagreeable, then it isn't free speech. Let the bigots, that would basically be all of us, speak freely and let people sort out what to believe...
But that is not what Ron Paul is saying - he is saying bigots should have the freedom to oppress (as well as have hate speech as a side dish).
Sniderman
Good point
good point
"The only bombs we're preparing are bombs against poverty, hunger and misery," added Chavez, saying Iranian constructors have built 14,000 new homes in Venezuela recently. So Chavez gives construction jobs to foreigners to alleviate the poverty of his people. Um, yeah, if he says so.
Nothing wrong with that, but Ahmedinejad cannot make the same claim.
At least Chavez is building homes for the people of Venezuela. In the USA the banks are taking our homes!
Hilarious, they actually expose that Coca Cola and Pepsi are actively doing business in Iran but the U.S. Government refuses to sanction them.
Our government is full of hypocrites, and the war drums against Iran are just as falsely beaten as the ones that were against Iraq.
Bravo clap clap
Wouldn't that be socialism (government appropriation of the means of production)?
Shutting down their refineries isn't exactly "appropriating the means of production."
Bob - Good post.
Unfortunately, it's just as deadly.
Chavez, looks sick maybe we are already working on getting rid of him.
diary of an economic hitman by perkins puts south america into perspective. is it any wonder chavez doesnt trust us?
Well said Bob Bobarino. Watch your back.
Wow Bob you really have it all figured out, you sound just like Hugo himself. Bob you should visit a communist country some time sounds like you would love it there and if you choose to move I support you. I think all of you commies should find your utopia.
That is all.
Bob, Hitler also rose from humble beginnings, and improved the German economy and the welfare of (most of) the people.
Bob, you make some good points.
Why don't you post another email when you have taken up residence in Venezuela or Iran. I will interested to hear what you have to say at that time.
What a post by Trentgibs.
There are STILL a lot of poor people in Venezuela.
And Iran.
Trentgibs,
Your post is full of blatant lies - and you espouse them as facts:
Socialism doesn't work, it never has a never will.
so I guess that is why China opened up with capitalism in their country and their economy took off
and while ahmendijab did not make the comment about destroying Israel, it WAS the IRANIAN News Agency that supplied the translation that did include the comment about destroying Israel
it's funny, while you have some points, all you are really doing is just spewing extremist rhetoric yourself with a few facts in between
You're right on with China - but it's government-controlled capitalism - tightly regulated - as Adam Smith, the father of capitalism, said that is has to be in order to keep all wealth from moving to a select few.
Actually, the world is laughing at oblowhole!!!!
No they are laughing at the present administration. I doubt they know of or are concerned about the tea party at this point. They are laughing at the sissy way we deal with problems. Sanctions = I'm not going to share my toys with you. That is why they laugh.
Yeah nobody was laughing at Bush were they?
Maybe they were laughing with him.
Keep taking your Chemo chavez and with a little white face, you could try out for a Ghostbusters remake. May the "Big Bomb" that you and you're "A-Hole Buddy" I-m-a-Mad-man are joking about, strike both your houses first.
Kill'em all! Remember 9/11!!! USA #1 hooah!
Go blow a goat, "Dragonof52".
@Dragonof52
@Indy Patriot-1934313
Nice post
Haha, these guys are funny.. nothing like humor to bring you out of a @!$%#-storm... The truth is the USA sucks, and we're meddling in too much of the worlds crap. Sanctions are the first step on the road to war, so if war is the cause of the sanctions then it's no wonder we're hated... haha, we're building bombs to stop poverty, hunger, man that dudes funny.. I don't take the media's word for it. I look for proof. So far, there is none. Iranian's nuclear program is peaceful so far, and we have no reason to go to war. No wonder everyone around the world hates America.
If you don't like the U.S.A. or the freedpoms it offers, there is one more freedom it has, the freedom to leave!!!
Robert that is such a childish response. "Well if you don't like it you can just leave!!" Give me a break. He can just leave or he can voice his opposition to our hypocritical and dangerous policies, or he can become a sheep like yourself. I love this country, but I still think that in regards to foreign policy we are quite simply terrible, because we let special interest instead of logic and reason dictate our policy
ya, suck this.
"Environmental wackos"???
I never like fruitcake, and these two clowns are the main ingredients.
where is neville chamberlain when ya need him?
Always like to see someone with a sense of humor and history to boot….lol
He is right below you Marvin, he just made the first comment to your post.
Somebody here knows who Neville Chamberlain is? That's incredible.
Neville...aka the ostrich. Look where his indecision and failure to recognize a legitimate threat nearly got England. Iran is in this category.
Notanidiotlikeolegunny -
Neville Chamberlain as a hero - really?
In case you missed the memo it would seem that every country in the world is very concerned with what Iran says and does.
watch my back with these to coke heads, obama keeps up his bullcrap and not start drilling or even get that pipeline going, these two countries will be giving us oil in canoes, keep their mouth's shut already and , just maybe we all can get along.
You write like a 4th grader, please get an education.
Bob, I'm no lover of those two guys, but the points you make are worth considering.
W.....NEED I SAY MORE?
Wrong, look to D.C. right now fool!
Effortpa Does that post sound strange when you read it?
A country which elected a chipmunk like GW Bush has every reason to fear the results of next election... apparently even D Trump has a chance to be our next president... what a scary thought...
Kind of too late. Americans have already elected an idiot by the name of OBAMA. Which begs the question, How do you elect someone with a brain when 60% of the electorate is brain dead?
After W I thought anything would have been a improvement …but after seeing this year circus that the republicans are putting forth …hell Perry’s making w almost smart and that in itself is a hell of a achievement…lol ….Obama is getting the job done even with the republicans trying to stop him…lol
i say quit buying oil from venezuela, nationalize citgo. hugo shouldnn't mind after all he is anti capitalist and will understand.

YES excatly jonathankay, this is the truth
Don't try to speak common sense to ignorant Americans who deserve to live in these countries and not enjoy the freedoms they have.
Coke and Pepsi are truly not the only US companies making dough in Iran. The shoe IS on the other foot.
