alls i want to know is, should i act surprised if and when it turns out this guy had a glenn beck book in his nightstand, watches fox news religiously, has youtube videos ranting against big government and tin foil hat/black helicopter conspiracies and is part of some sort of minutemen militia?
This is just another story of an idiot with a gun.
How many other stories of shootings have there been, this month, just on this site alone.
Civilians shouldnt be allowed to have weapons.
Any kind of weapon.
I've never heard any stories of civilians with handguns, foiling a bank robbery or home invasion, or taking out a whole cartel of drug dealers like in a Chuck Norris movie.
i have deep RESPECT for the Law.. however COPS do have a License to KILL.. very few are; Trigger Happy, and they do get away with their Actions at times..i do understand People's fear of them..however, in this instance the COP KILLER deserved to die...U just don't pull a gun on a COP..They do deserve RESPECT and report BAD COPS, internal affairs does keep records of officers in related reported abuse incidents..too much abuse by a certain officer does remove him from TRUSTED DUTY..
Joe this is typical of MSNBC... when they first post a story it says one thing and then they change it up. I've even been caught being on the wrong side because of their misstating facts or leaving them out entirely only to add them back later in the day.
To much missing !! Like for what reason was he pulled over, does he have criminal ,mental history, have a permit to carry a gun ,have a family??? Just a few to start with.
Let us jump forward 30 years from now. The dirtbag who shot and killed the officer is on death row and all his appeals have run out. He is scheduled to be executed, outside the prison the liberal morons are demonstrating that he didn't do it and and death penalty is wrong.
I might agree with you Robert but Pennsylvania likes to make their death row residents permanent guests of the state. There have been three executions carried out since 1976 and all three asked for their sentences to be carried out. I truly hope to see the day when Pennsylvania decides that enough is enough and they start carrying out these sentences. In particular, the killer of my husband's cousin. He has been sentenced to death for ambushing and murdering the three officers.
Not surprised, mo. Your lack of intelligence while flaunting your hate coupled with your whining throughout this thread is quite evident. Obviously, no one here is impressed with you except for you.
Joe, could be wrong but I believe the article was updated.
Anyone who gets out of a car at a traffic stop and opens fire on police is a complete idiot. They're certainly not Mensa candidates.
When they catch him, and they eventually will, he will get the death penalty. But probably before he gets to the jail, he will wish he was already dead.
I feel sorry for the family of the victim. Terrible way to remember a holiday season.
Another great statement from the William Ayers Group. Of course you are the first to cal the police when you fell threatened. What a hypocritical coward.
Guess you are still mourning the death of Kim Il Jung to think and act rationally.
My heart goes out to the families of these and other previously wounded or fallen officers, as we all should salute those who protect and serve the public.
Well meanest one, next time you need cop, call a thug.
Meanwhile, when I was in NORTH Philly during the early 70's, Mayor Rizzo's term, it was said the police mantra was: "Stop, or I'll put a warning shot in your head." Works for me!
Well meanest one, next time you need cop, call a thug.
I never have called.
Meanwhile, when I was in NORTH Philly during the early 70's, Mayor Rizzo's term, it was said the police mantra was: "Stop, or I'll put a warning shot in your head." Works for me!
And this is suppose to validate your point? I think you mistakenly proved mine.
Meanwhile, while living in California: Cops are gangsters and live a life of violence. Well, live by the gun, die by the gun. Good riddance. Face shot works for me!
Ahhh there it is! Meanest is nothing but an angry ol man that had to deal with some kind of hardship in life and he blames everyone else for his problems.
"It wasn't my fault mr officer that I robbed that store. The govt. aint providing me with a job"
Your right meanest, the cops are all horrible gangstas like you say. Just keep on keepin on my brotha
hardship in life and he blames everyone else for his problems
Which one of my problems did I blame on someone else? I'm very happy with where I am in life right now. All I said is I fought back against the coward cops who tried to attack me.
"It wasn't my fault mr officer that I robbed that store. The govt. aint providing me with a job"
I was never convicted of any crime. And I have worked since I was 14 years old. I am a firm beleiver in you can get anything if you want if you work hard enough for it. Unfortunatly some pigs work hard to instigate situations and then they get upset when they get what is coming to them.
Your right meanest, the cops are all horrible gangstas like you say. Just keep on keepin on my brotha
If it's a "cover-up cop" he's just as bad as the rogue. Good riddance.
Kayner your assumptions wouldn't hold water in a mansoon but it is typical of your ilk to instantly degrade anyone that disagrees with you as a loser. In Vegas cops are so out of control with their officer involved shootings that even the former sheriff Bill Young has called for an outside review
MeanestOnes -Too bad cops don't protect and serve.- this is his response above when someone simply throws out some condolences to their family.
Don't coming whining to me because I'm rude to the guy for generalization the Police for some incident that happened back when he was some young punk who probably deserved what he got.
If your ENTIRE police department is rouge there in Vegas then that is news to be as I fly there once a month for business and NEVER had any problems.
Why is shooting a cop different from someone shooting your next door neighbor? I just mean that they will hunt you till hell freezes over if you shoot a cop, but if someone kills your wife or a loved one it's just routine. The shooter was a butthole, but they always make a big deal if a policeman gets shot. I just don't understand that.
Nonsense... the shooter got what he deserved. He was a bad apple and if he wasn't going to shoot a cop he would be shooting YOU or his neighbor... Good riddance!
As to my previous post please ignor, no trial, no appelas, no games no wasting thousands of taxpayer dollars on courts, lawyers, housing, etc. The perp did everyone a big favor, only cost was fuel to get to his house and bullets.
No, a coward is a cop that has to taser an 80 year-old grandmother because he feels threatened. A coward is a cop who shoots a handicapped individual in a wheelchair. A coward is a cop that shoots an un-armed, handcuffed man in the back. A coward is a man who had to join the military to learn how to fight.
Guess you are still mourning the death of Kim Il Jung to think and act rationally.
Firstly, your sentence doesn't even make sense gramatically. Maybe you should have went to college instead of the military. But in anycase, no, I'm not mourning the death of Kim Jung Ill. Pretty horrid stuff going on in N.Korea. You know, how their government officals are killing innocent civilians.... kinda like the good ole' US of A.
No response about your little piggies being dirty rogue cowards? Not really a suprise, but what should we expect from a thug with a badge?
but what should we expect from a troll.
FYI. Your sentence should end with a question mark even if it was a rhetorical question. Don't think someone with the IQ of a cop would know that though. Did you know if your IQ is too high the you can't become a cop? It's a stupidity quota. It's because they want you to react on instinct and not actually THINK. No shocker there.
Well, there you go thinking again. You know that always gets you into trouble. In response to your FYI, either way is correct. What I stated may be taken as a declarative statement and be terminated with a period. Or, it may be considered a question and be terminated with a question mark.
Speaking of terminating, this is the last I will have to say to you on this or any other subject. It's clear that we will never agree and life is too short to spend it conversing with someone who would like the world to think he/she is the "meanest one." Certainly something to strive for, but you are a long way off.
Meanest One- You truly are a *#&%@* idiot hiding behind the internet and making your brave statements into cyberspace. The bastard needed to be killed (the Shooter). Too bad you weren't there to defend his "right" to kill a cop, maybe a stray bullet would have found your peanut sized brain and you wouldn't be taking up space on this already over-crowded planet. Have a nice day a$$whole.
And your a real tough guy too. I would say it straight to your face if given the opportunity. I have said it to the police as well. I personally have been a target of police brutality. I fought back. I did get charged with a whole litany of offenses the stupid little piggies tried to drum up to cover up their actions (charges later dropped due to lack of evidence). When the first piggie initiated a physical confrontation I promtly put his head into the side-walk. To bad you werent there to defend this cops right to be a public danger. Maybe you two could share feeding straws.
Meanest One is just a small little troll trying to conjure up rage in people because they have nothing better to do in their sorry little life. Don't play into it. Just let them go back under the bridge. When people start commenting to them they feel some sort of sick power trip. Disgusting.
If my life is so sorry and you are taking the time to (reply / collapse ) my opinion, what does that make you? Has nothing to do with "power". Not everyone is in a power struggle like todays cops are. I must admit I do get satisfaction watching the pig lovers squirm. But not as much satisfaction I got from wathing the little piggies head bounce of the pavement, that was priceless.
@Meanest - I think you should change your name first. Something along the lines of "Ignorant One". Secondly, just because you seem to have an issue with law enforcement, doesn't necessarily mean anyone else wants to hear your rhetoric on your personal belief. Fact is, the cop is a human being, just like the rest of us. We all make mistakes.
My guess is, if a Hispanic individual, who happened to be a normal civilian, were to engage you as opposed to it having been a cop, you'd end up hating Hispanics and Civilians. That's about where I put you on the level of ignorance and intolerance you display. Perhaps you should take a philosophy course to loosen your mind up and think practically.
My condolences to the families of those officers! I see that one person is calling the police a "paramilitary" units that shoot to kill! Sheesh dude! Whenever you have an idiot get out of his vehicle and shoot down two officers, one fatally, then that person has upped the stakes right there! It is a fact he will shoot a police officer and he would more than apt to shoot anyone who got in his way! The police really don't have a choice when the perp escalated the situation! He was stupid enough to fire on a SWAT team! That tells me he wasn't rational by any means. I hate to see people killed but this guy brought it on himself! He absolutely got what he deserved! Red
People who all their lives have been vital productive members of society, have been driven to desparation by circumstances outside of their control. Many people rationalize that their ruin is due to govt policies that have created conditions detrimental to working stiffs in this country, mix in an ethos of gun ownership by right.
And when police (govt) interaction happens, tradgedy ensues.
I'm in no way defending this persons actions, but people are desperate!
His behavior led to a much better end for society than locking him up at taxpayer expense for years, and having the taxpayers fund endless appeals of his sentence.
It is excessive penalties that are many times behind these shootings. I call it, Nothing left to lose syndrome.
In my opinion, most penalties in the U.S., in no way fit the crimes associated with them. Leaving criminals with few options other than to go down fighting. Combine that with mass availability of guns... And well, you can see the results.
People get 10 years for stealing a pack of smokes, no wonder they shoot back rather than go to jail for that long.
Excessive penalties have zero deterrence value. Criminals don't think they will get caught, for one. They all have a full proof plan going in. And they all have the knowledge that they will go to jail for a very long time if caught. Which has the very real probability of escalating the situation to lethal levels, when their plan fails. Someone with nothing left to lose, and an arsenal, is a very dangerous person.
Thank You for suspending Meanest One. Dr. Dryer, Officer Caldwell and the Washington County SWAT Team are heros and don't need tarnished in commentary.
You have to ask yourself: why would a 58 year old person do something like this? There has to be more to this story, and now that the shooter is dead, probably will never be known. Desperation? Some form of insanity? Rampant distrust of police/government?
If this was a young person, you might say drugged up or a gang banger, but this is an adult, hopefully had some reason for his actions. Else this country is being taken over by rampant insanity!
My condolences to the officer's family and his blue family also.
alls i want to know is, should i act surprised if and when it turns out this guy had a glenn beck book in his nightstand, watches fox news religiously, has youtube videos ranting against big government and tin foil hat/black helicopter conspiracies and is part of some sort of minutemen militia?
He was only a part-time blue family member. What about his veterinary family? No sympathy for those clients?
This is just another story of an idiot with a gun.
How many other stories of shootings have there been, this month, just on this site alone.
Civilians shouldnt be allowed to have weapons.
Any kind of weapon.

Al I hever hear about, are of idiots with guns.
CLEAR the country of all weapons.
Problem solved.
Willie--where did you get your statistics? Just curious.
i have deep RESPECT for the Law.. however COPS do have a License to KILL.. very few are; Trigger Happy, and they do get away with their Actions at times..i do understand People's fear of them..however, in this instance the COP KILLER deserved to die...U just don't pull a gun on a COP..They do deserve RESPECT and report BAD COPS, internal affairs does keep records of officers in related reported abuse incidents..too much abuse by a certain officer does remove him from TRUSTED DUTY..
You're an idiot. Hopefully the suspect will do the right thing and save the US taxpayer the cost of housing him for the rest of his life.
speaking of idiots, R. Scalzo, WHO are you talking to?
did you people even read the story, the suspect is already DEAD
Joe this is typical of MSNBC... when they first post a story it says one thing and then they change it up. I've even been caught being on the wrong side because of their misstating facts or leaving them out entirely only to add them back later in the day.
I trust that you did not verify that the story was written by the Associated Press, not MSNBC.
While MSNBC will post an update to a story if the AP updates the original story, they don't go into AP stories and add or remove facts.
To much missing !! Like for what reason was he pulled over, does he have criminal ,mental history, have a permit to carry a gun ,have a family??? Just a few to start with.
What? Jimi, does it really matter? This isn't TV, give them a little time to get the background of the shooter!
I know, but I'm saying wait till the dust settles after all these days anything can happen.
Very well said, Mike. Thank you.

Back to your meth lab dimwit.
Right, and thats because you know me right? Hahaha.

bill you are almost correct... they've left the handbasket as they arrived a while back.
As to my previous post please ignor, no trial, no appelas, no games no wasting thousands of taxpayer dollars on courts, lawyers, housing, etc. The perp did everyone a big favor, only cost was fuel to get to his house and bullets.

if you are so paranoid that you can't deal with getting pulled over, maybe you shouldn't leave the house...
