I gotta say, not to trash on a great american bike, and I am not saying I wouldnt ride one, I would rather put my money where my mouth is, and buy a yammer hammer, so that I dont have oil spots all over my garage. Not to mention, I want to ride, not fix everytime I go 15 miles :}
Wowed - I've had four Harleys since about 2005 and none ever leaked a drop. The reputation for "marking its teritory" was during the ownership of Harley by AMF. I had to move away from Jap bikes because of horrible service locally. So far i have been treated very well at the local Harley dealer and the service has been excellent. You are free to spend your money as you see fit. People seem to light up when you can tell them you ride a Harley Davidson.
Not to sound unappreciative, but every time I have seen a harley, I see a drop cloth on the ground. Oh well, like I said, I wouldnt NOT ride one, I have had better luck with my Yamaha, and never had to get it fixed (did get exhaust on it that broke a window when I took my baffles out). For a totalled rebuild, greatest bike I ever had. Meanest too. People seem to light up when they see a woman on a bike big enough for a man :)
A note to lokay5: Probably not a good idea to talk $hit about a dead member of the Hells Angels when you have a picture of your vehicle posted with your comments. They have a far reach and long memories. Might want to get your wife/boyfriend to start your rig this morning.
Yea, Darrel. Those big bad Hell's Angels are on here just looking for someone trash talking them. Jeesh. Let's just hope they keep offing themselves. DavefromDanapoint; I wouldn't be bashing anybody when you clearly don't know what a space bar is. Just sayin' . . .
Wowed by the force: it is sad that some men still think that way!! When I went to buy my E-glide, the salesman actually asked me where my husband was!! And they wondered later why I bought a Goldwing the same day. Neanderthal idiocy!
@wowed: I think it's sexy my wife can shoot my guns. It's pretty awesome when women get interested and participate in things that are usually deemed "masculine."
For the record, my guns aren't the little "sissy" kind. I own an AKM and a M76 sniper rifle. It's pretty awesome watching her send rounds down range on target.
OH, I have guns, too. I have a .45, 30-06, and was privledged enough to shoot my brothers AK-47 (semi-aut). I really really really want to shoot a M76 one day. Thats just a dream I have had for a few years or so. I am taking my son to shoot his first 12 gauge this weekend. I cant wait. Thats like a coming of age in this family. The way I see it, the day my boy can pick his mama up, and carry her around the house, thats the day he becomes old enough to shoot a real gun. What do you think, Matt?
@wowed: I don't know about waiting till he can pick you up. My philosophy is to start early, like around 8 years old, to get good habits and learn to respect a firearm. I recommend something like a Youth Rifle in the .22LR, which is a good place to learn. Heck, I learned to shoot on the AK, have very little pistol experience (only fired a Sig P226 and a Para-Ordnance POS), but I've learned something: I suck at shooting pistols. I'm death incarnate with a rifle, but with a pistol, I might as well just be throwing the bullets at people.
The M76 is a hoot. Just got it last week, took it to the range over the weekend, it's a beast of a gun. The 8mm Mauser really packs a punch, and it's everything I'd hoped it'd be.
He has been shooting for years, just never anything that powerful. He started on a .22 pistol, but he has outgrown it a little. He is 10 now, and weighs a wopping 105, so he is just the right size to manage it properly, I think.
OHH, I wish I woulda been there. Its a straight grip? Kinda makes my arm hurt thinking about it. So worth the pain, though. Im a little girl, so it doesnt take much to hurt a little. I had a bruise for a month the last time I shot my 30-06. Got alot of kick.
Recoil isn't too bad, just a little more than the AK, or at least it feels that way. Got a lot of looks at the range, including more than a few that thought it was an SVD. Looks like it, but it's not, the giveaway is the pistol grip instead of the thumbhole stock. If you lived nearby, I'd let you take her out for a spin, as you said you really want to shoot one. Shoulder was fine, but the eyepiece on the scope gives you a little scare the first time you shoot.
Oh, I bet. Man, I wish I did, Id be there. The scope always gives me jump, at first. I always see it going through me, lol. I might just have to go and spend more money on guns...
a lot of motorcycle clubs were organized by former pilots who flew in WW2.........needed a few thrills after serving in combat when they got back home.
No, they didnt start doing that until the Rolling Stones asked the angels to provide security at a show. It got the gears moving for bigger and better things...
Acrually, it started in the late 50's when the gang started admitting younger riders who did not serve. By the early 60's, they were already organizing their criminal element(drug smuggling and gun running).
In all my years of life I have never been able to understand how ANY grown man would want to belong to a gang and act like a stupid macho thug. Don't these guys ever grow up???
This is not about wanting to belong. This is about machoism, having no focus, playing with bigger toys, bullying, self-esteem issues, not growing up, etc. You pick the reason. How about these guys be real men and concentrate on their families and being examples to their kids, like my dad. He got up every day at 5:30, went to work, came home, took care of things around the house. He went to our games when he had the time. At one point, he studied how to construct a home and built us a bigger house while still doing all the other things. These are the things that dads do that make them real men. These gang members, and all others, are not real men. Just because you can point a metal barrel and pull a trigger does not make you a man.
Right on with your comment Gary Cook! Tausan could have chosen to be a useful part of our society, but he chose to become part of a criminal organization whos sole interest is to push drugs, promote prostitution and harm the people and the country he swore to protect as a Marine. I salute your father Gary for being a true man!
Some people NEVER "grow up"! A grown up man or woman accepts responsibility and contributes to the overall GOOD of society! People who do NOT grow up act in a selfish and irresponsible manner. They do what is best for THEM and care little about other people.
What I don't understand about bikers is they all claim they love the freedom but then have to submit to all the rules that the "club" officers make. I knew a guy that wanted to play hockey with my hockey team. He did for awhile until the "club" found out and made him quit because they thought the team's name was too much like a "club" name. The team name was The Henchman. They made him quit. A grown man could not decide for himself what to do for recreation. Sound like freedom to you? Not me.
Gary - A hammer and a bag of nails doesn't make you a man either. there are many men who point guns and shoot professionally. That is how they provide for their families - albeit didfferent than what your dad did.
This is true thinker. What I was saying was that men who take responsibility for their families and for making society better. I do not have anything against guns either. A well armed citizenry is essential, I think to insure we have the ability to respond to an oppressive government if need be. We own guns here in our house to protect ourselves if need be. I also understand the need for police, military, etc must use guns in their professions and I respect them for it.
I'm willing to bet none of the people writing all these negative posts have ever even met this man. You don't know anything about him but, you are glad he is dead. There are all diferent kinds of scumbags and it's easy to judge when you don't know what you are talking about.
your right i never met him,or know anything than what the articles have portrayrd.but i do know one thing,he was a person who was paying respects to a friend who had passed, and nobody deserves what happened to him regardless of who he was personally.you shouldnt be using someones funeral as a way to seek revenge over personal issues.
livinginthewoods You are right - no one should judge! He probably volunteered at the local animal shelter and baked cookies for nursing home residents while proudly sporting that tattoo of the penal code for murder.
We have lots of other " gangs" is the U.S. just as criminal as this group but far less interest in taking them down. Come on lets be fair, ALL gang members need to be corralled up if they are criminals. Just another example of selective enforcement of the law.
Well said Pathman. I am a Navy man who did my duty for my country, as I am assuming you did also. I think they should corral all gang members from every gang in the US, drop them all on an island together and let them 'man' it out. See who is left after a year, then drop them far off in the ocean.
Want to join something greater than yourself - there are many relief organizations that need your help in your community and abroad. Or volunteer at the Literacy Counsel, or be a big brother to some kid. You can make better use of your life and time, and die proud of your acchievements.
Hmm... US Marine, ran his own business in a competitive field, played with big-boy toys and genuine tough guys in his off time, stood up to wrongful police action & prosecution, and respected among his peers. Although you might not have the same values nor made the same choices, I'm fairly sure that Mr. Tausan was quite proud of his "acchievements."
And I'm equally sure it's "Literacy Council."
It's a free country. Don't neglect to show a little respect, and thank those who keep it that way.
I find it funny how the shooter got in, shot this guy, and got out successfully. With 4000 people and lots of police it seems like mission impossible. It was a setup.
Try working in a high school for awhile. You'll quickly find out that watching as few as 25 people is nearly impossible. The guy played a nasty game and got it's fruit. He is no different than a Blood or Crip.
A few of the other news versions of this story seem to imply that Mr. Tausan may have expressed disappointment with a fellow HA who should have taken better care of the man in the box, leading to his being in the box. During the ensuing discussion (possibly during a membership retraction, or in light of Mr. Tausan's disciplinary skills) shots were fired. If that's true, then this was a HA internal matter and not a gang war, nor "sniping." In fact, it may have been just between these two prideful men, yes badass men, at a highly emotional moment. If they each saw how it would turn out, they might have handled it differently with another chance, or in a different time.
This msnbc version of a news story leaves key facts out.
So far, the second HA hasn't been found. Alive, or dead, at the scene or elsewhere. And maybe never will be. Crime scene evidence, presumably, has been disturbed. Under the noses of heavy police presence. End of story.
Beezup, you are as close to accurate as anyone will get.
Jethro was recommended, sponsored by, Tausen some 20+ years ago and as Sgt At Arms in San Jose they were very close.
I was wondering who @!$%#ed up and let Jethro get shot IN THE BACK BY A FAGO, while Jethro was bitch slapping the @!$%# out of a number of FAGOS.
That being said, the police won`t be pressed to solve this one since they know Tausen beat the man to death with his bare hands in the Pink Poodle and beat the charges.
To SJ PD or the Sheriffs office this is not a top priority.
And yes, they SAW what happened at the cemetery and STILL no witnesses.
They must provide lip service to the public but both of these HAs had acquaintances IN the PD and Sheriffs office.
My guess is an instant cremation was arranged for Ruiz when he broke the main rule, don`t kill another member.
BTW, I was at Oak Hill in June for my aunt`s service and many of my friends and family are planted there.
I`d be very surprised if Steve isn`t buried there as well.
Nice place to visit but......
Oh, and all you loud mouth pussies can show your ball sack on Drake St., just off Bird and 280 in San Jose. That`s where the SJ Club House is located. Cowards.
And it was almost as easy to access a few other`s ISP`s via the internet. MSNBC
Of course, that`ll take a few hours to actually run down the exact locations associated to those ISPs but hey, I`m happy to help.
Well that is insightful of you. You found me. Yes I was in the Navy. Have lived all over the country. Illinois, Missouri, Virginia, Florida, Arizona, California, and not to far from San Jose in CA, Bakersfield. Never in New Jersey though. I do not watch professional sports anymore, ever since they did all the striking back in the early 2000's. So you got me. Someone going to come and get me now. What about all the other people who posted derogatory comments in this little blog. You going to find all of them too. I am not worried. I have survived being in the Navy, 13 heart attacks, open heart surgery and I am on my third pace-maker. So whatever.
The whole point is that people in such gangs do not contribute, nor are they conducive to a well run society, and when they are gone, they will not be missed by the general public as a whole.
By the way, go on and read all the other posts further down. Maybe you can hunt us all down and do whatever. It will give the police a good place to start when one of us, or me, end up whatever it is you will do.
You have GOT to be really tea tarded to post threats online. I mean you have to be IQ level 5. You sure you aint a HA? With brains like that, you should be running operations.
Once again, the collective intelligence lends credence to the notion that opinions are like a-- holes, every body has one. It's easy to be critical and to fear what you don't understand.
Nice way to pull in terrorism, which by the way is pretty much what the H.A.'s are about. This has been going on quite a bit longer than al queda in America.
One thing about death is no matter how important or how big a bad ass your were when you were alive, now you are just another dead stiff. Everything you had or were stays here, death is the great equalizer.
They can stand over you and say how wonderful you were or how rotten you were but ain't it a bitch, you're still dead.
When you live a life style where drugs and violence are almost made mandatory, you increase the chances of dieing violently as this man did.I've been associated with bikers a good part of my younger life and some of them are good people and take care of thier families, and then you have the majority that live to be an outlaw.I'm certain of 2 things in this shooting,It was either a sniper or an inside hit. There is no way in hell your pulling a trigger and walking out of a biker funeral as they are a "war free zone" in the biker world. If there is no immediate retalliation it will speak loudly as to who was responsible.
Just dont get in between them and their colors. And dont make the mistake of being one of their "Old Ladies".
I learned alot riding with a few Chaplains for the Bandidos in Montana. They were pretty cool dudes. Most were christians, going where they were "needed". In church EVERY sunday, and went to my wedding, providing an escort for us. Never more than good dudes, fully patched CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) at one time. Set Free is pretty cool, too. Have a bad rap is some parts because of their work and the way the people (ex convicts) look.
All 1%er's aren't bad guys. Some just want to be part of a brotherhood. Some of these guys would give you the shirts off their backs.
John Wayne Gacy was a good neighbor and did volunteer work dressing as a clown at community events. He worked as a political organizer and as the director of the Chicago Polish Constitution Day Parade. I guess he was a good guy too. Except of that "little thing" about torturing and killing young men.
Too bad
So sad

lokay5 - You are one sick SON Of A B! I'm betting you sit down to take a leak!
1 down, 4000+ more to go
By the way it is nightmare not nitemare. you should change your screen name to worstilliterate
The difference between a Hoover Vacuum cleaner and a Harley rider is the position of the dirt bag!
Don't confuse your average Harley rider with a biker gang. There are more of us that just like to ride Harleys, than there are gang members.
I gotta say, not to trash on a great american bike, and I am not saying I wouldnt ride one, I would rather put my money where my mouth is, and buy a yammer hammer, so that I dont have oil spots all over my garage. Not to mention, I want to ride, not fix everytime I go 15 miles :}

"People seem to light up when they see a woman on a bike big enough for a man"
Yeah. Some peple actually think that hairy lesbians are cute.
Hairy lesbian? Wow. Is that how you view women who do things men do? What a sad little life you live.
The article reads like an obituary for a good guy!
Wowed by the force: it is sad that some men still think that way!! When I went to buy my E-glide, the salesman actually asked me where my husband was!! And they wondered later why I bought a Goldwing the same day. Neanderthal idiocy!
HEAR HEAR Vermont! My husband thinks its sexy that I can ride. But he is a MAN, so, there are differences.
An influx of young white males because the older ones are retiring? Most people would read "retiring" as in the permanent sense - dying.
There are three types of Harley riders, in general. The old-hand greybeards, the rich urban bikers and the wannabes.

In all my years of life I have never been able to understand how ANY grown man would want to belong to a gang and act like a stupid macho thug. Don't these guys ever grow up???
Haven't you ever wanted to belong to something greater than yourself?

Ah, baloney. They could have nuked the service and the world would be better off. Gangs are gangs. Their intentions are never honorable.

I agree Toosano. ALL the gangs around the country could be gone for all I care. We would all be better off without them.
By the way, good one Jack.
All I keep hearing is, "Hey. Won't ya play-another-somebody done somebody wrong song".
Damn you! LOL...no I have an earworm...I keep hearing over and over in my head...
Good riddance.Another POS gone. It's a shame the rest of them didn't go to hell with him!

Of course, that`ll take a few hours to actually run down the exact locations associated to those ISPs but hey, I`m happy to help.
Enjoying the game, Gair?
How `bout them Cards, Gair?
I just saw Steve Martin on SNL a couple of weeks ago. So sad to hear of his untimely death.
Steve Martin is not dead.
I think he was being facetious.
Lol, No I really believe Steve Martin was a member of Hell's Angels. RIP Steve.
Umm, it does make perfect sense, I think. What better disguise than Hollywood?
Right! making us laugh just to cover his real agenda. What a wild and crazy guy.
Totally. So, who killed him? Gilbert Gottfried?
He always blamed Steve for getting him fired as the Aflak voice. I'd bring him in for questioning.
My thoughts exactly...
I'm really tired of seeing retired comedians turning to biker gang members because of the economy. Something has to be done.
You are right. We need to nip this in the bud. MAKE MORE TIME FOR THE FUNNIES!!!!! Leave out the "Docu-Drama". We dont need no stinkin drama!
Funnies is good for the soul. Its like being on a Soul Train.
Um, I dont know what soul train you take, but Im pretty sure mine would be headed straight for hell.
Mine is always broken down.
Oh. Well, why do you keep breaking it? They tell you maximum load is 50 people. Gotta slow down, tony.
Yeah, I don't slow down enough.
Soul Train is an old TV show, btw.
I know, but it didnt sound as good from that perspective. I figured you knew what it was by your sly dancing, lol.
Can you tell its a musical day for me? lol
Yes, yes I can.
Unfortunately, Soul Train derailed when it crashed into a watermelon truck........
And, how did we come up with this?
I'll give you a 2 out of 5 for that lokay.
LOL Tony...
Once again, the collective intelligence lends credence to the notion that opinions are like a-- holes, every body has one. It's easy to be critical and to fear what you don't understand.
I think it's pretty easy to understand what the H. A. is about.
What are you, some kind of wannabe?
Actually the expression is "everybody has one and they all stink".
American on American crime is just what al quieda likes to see.
Our country is drifting further apart...
If there is no immediate retalliation it will speak loudly as to who was responsible.
note to self, do NOT move back to the USA
There are HA branches all over the world now.
Can't believe these 60's relics are still around...
"Can't believe these 60's relics are still around..."
"60s relics"?..... The Harley Davidson motorcycle or the people who ride 'em? They're both relics.
Izzinat a K5 in yr. avatar? Prob'ly older'n you, too. I'd think you would respect a relic!
All 1%er's aren't bad guys. Some just want to be part of a brotherhood. Some of these guys would give you the shirts off their backs.
At best, they are seriously misguided.
If you want to be part of a brotherhood, join the military. There are no bonds stronger than those forged between members of a combat unit.
How about a "neighborhood watch". Put them to good use...
John Wayne Gacy was a good neighbor and did volunteer work dressing as a clown at community events. He worked as a political organizer and as the director of the Chicago Polish Constitution Day Parade. I guess he was a good guy too. Except of that "little thing" about torturing and killing young men.
