The only heros are the SEALS and the unsung members of our entire (not just the CIA) covert teams. Obama is the showman of the moment. He knows nothing and does a lot less. Do you really, really believe that Obama deserves any credit whatsoever? If you remember, the only reason we were even in the right place at the right time and even had the intelligence that we did, is because G.W. Bush authorized it!
Why did Bush let Osama Bin Laden get away? He was cornered in Afghanistan yet the entire American military machine FAILED to get him. Did Bush let him get away on purpose or is the entire American military machine just incompetent? I think Bush let Bin Laden get away on purpose to give him an excuse to invade Iraq and create a bogey man to manipulate the public just like in the novel 1984
Bush let Osama get away because he was trying to maintain good relations with Pakistan. Bush might not be very good at foreign policy (e.g. Iraq) but he knew not to piss off a potential ally in the Middle East by invading their country. At the time, we had two options: 1. Let Osama get away and hopefully kill him later, while keeping Pakistan happy. 2. Invade Pakistan to kill Osama, then piss off a nuclear armed nation in the power keg of the Middle East. And not just the Middle East. If Pakistan were to get jumpy, so would India, all of Asia, and the entire world. Things aren't so black and white.
I'm not an Obama supporter (in fact I plan to vote against him in the next election- I hate his economic policies), but what he did in taking out OBL took real courage. Why?
Two words: Jimmy Carter.
Though I risk telling my age, I can remember how after the Iranian hostage crisis began, Jimmy carter sent a group of commandos (Seals? Rangers? I can't remember, somebody help me out) to try to rescue them. The mission failed horribly, and just as much as the terrible economy and inability to bring the hostages home, the image of the smouldering helecopter in Iran was a big part in sinking the hopes of Jimmy Carter having a second term.
Had this operation gone wrong, Obama's career would have been in the same kind of smouldering ruins. So cheers to him for having the courage to pull this off. Now what are you going to do about the economy Barak?
Yes Matt but lets look at the amount of shooting from the hip that idiot texan did.
He was naive in thinking he can trust everyone to help us. Obama took a chance and didnt notify anyone of it.
Bush was an idiot. He rode his daddys name till it wore it out! Also do some searching on how many predator drone strikes that bush ordered. Obama order twice as many strikes in his few months in office than bush did in 8 yrs!
MAtt= FAIL. Rose colored glasses and all that. Thanks to independents for recognizing good, regardless of what party it comes from. And thanks to the radicals in either party for being irrelevant.
One Bin Laden statement discouraged the use of air conditioners by his followers, because it would make them weak, and soft. Yet another example of hour this mass murderer liked to tell people what to do, and not do it himself. Moral highground? Still none.
This is the only thing President Obama (and i use that term loosely) is going to have to run on in 2012 everything else he has done is an utterly complete failure.
I give credit where credit is due ,he did a good thing by giving the go ahead to get Osama. and i am glad he did or else we would not have this info
These stories piss me off. They should have told us Bin Laden was able to destroy all of his records. The best intellegence is ALWAYS the stuff our enemies don't know we have.
We should have a monthly hit list. Every month go over there and take out another member of al-quida. They can talk all the smack they want but they would get alittle taste of terrorism as they lay awake wondering when the helicopter is going to land and the seals take them out.
With the wealth of information that our brave SEALs obtained I kind of think that we will be playing a version of Whack-A-Mole on these Al Qaida ba$tards!
When reading the ingredient content of food, the most prominent item in the food is listed first down to the least portion or item in that food or in the ingredients. you mentioned obama first in your comments as if he was the prominent figure in the killing of osama. Just Remember!
OBAMA did NOT kill Bin Laden. An American sailor, who Obama just a few weeks ago was debating on whether or not to PAY, did. In fact, if you remember a little less than two years ago, his administration actually charged and attempted to court marshall 3 Navy Seals from Seal Team Six, when a terrorist suspect they captured, complained they had punched him during the take down and bloodied his nose. His administration further commented how brutal they were. The left were calling them Nazi's and Baby Killers.. Now all of a sudden the very brave men they vilified, are now heros when they make his administration look good in the eyes of the public. Obama just happened to be the one in office when the CIA finally found the b...... and our sailors took him out. Essentially, Obama only gave an answer. Yes or No, to him being taken out. This is NOT an Obama victory, but an AMERICAN victory!!
TRUE! Similarly, GW Bush was only the one who said yes or no to sending the troops to Iraq in the first place. The real blame for this stupid stupid stupid useless war, goes to the military, who were the ones that went there!
All that was, was a PR stunt. Just to pretend that we get onto our soldiers scince the bush administration thought it was a good idea to write memos about how to torcher, and document everytime we did it. Bush was an idiot. Was trying to do a good job but going about it in all the wrong ways.
I wasnt mad when i found out we where roughing up enemy combatants. I was more upset we got caught

I wish I could dispute you, but, unfortunately, you are mostly right. Worse, even liberal rags like "The Insider" have raised doubts about Obama's role in all of this - suggesting that Leon Pannetta, Hillary Clinton, and Robert Gates had to run the op essentially behind Obama's back, because he refused to authorize it (which, if true, would explain the innumerable contradictions which dogged the Administration's news releases after the assassination - hard to say what happened when you haven't a clue...).
SO, congrats to the SEALs and to all the support services. Congrats to the American people. And a reserved thanks to the Administration, because less than that would be churlish. The job now is to make the operation pay off for us - and I note with satisfaction that they've already bagged Kashmiri.
Oh go ahead and disagree. Bush had ceased the pursuit of his family friend, disbanded the CIA unit that was doing it and said he didn't care about him. Obama changed all that. Following the logic above the individual that created the weapon that the Navy Seal used killed Osama. Or was it the invention of gunpowder is responsible? The bullets came from the gun of a Navy Seal that is true. Now ask the Navy Seal who was responsible and being the man he is he would share credit with Psalm109:5 and every American. This childish Obama gets no credit is just that childish. The old my brother can beat up your brother. Psalm I counter with Matthew.
yeah, its not like obama ended the speech with the following reference to america:
Yet today's achievement is a testament to the greatness of our country and the determination of the American people.
The cause of securing our country is not complete. But tonight, we are once again reminded that America can do whatever we set our mind to. That is the story of our history, whether it's the pursuit of prosperity for our people, or the struggle for equality for all our citizens; our commitment to stand up for our values abroad, and our sacrifices to make the world a safer place.
oldefart: ...hard to say what happened when you haven't a clue...
You admit that you haven't a clue but still write some stupid conclusion anyway, just so you can be childish and not give Obama some of the credit. You might be an old fart but your opinion stinks to high heaven.
This childish Obama gets no credit is just that childish
I can't disagree with that but it is hardly more childish than calling Bin Laden a Bush family friend. If you're going to call the kettle black you should avoid being the pot because it makes you look like a hypocritical moron.
Now we need 'Doctor Dent Head' in the sights of the Seals' weapons. More the merrier!
They said OBL crapped his sheet right down to his flip-flops, when the first round hit its mark! That was probably the worst part of the operation for the SEALS. Probably had to hose him off before they bagged him.
Why are some people terrified, TERRIFIED, of Obama getting credit for anything? No one is wholly bad or wholly good. If you have to find a reason to tear down obvious accomplishments or ignore obvious failures in another just because they are or are not on "your team", you are a cheerleader, not a citizen.
The military got Osama. Obama in Commander in Chief of that military. He picked the riskiest of the three options to get him, but the one most likely to ensure we could verify his death and potentially get information like we got. Bush can take some credit, too. But it was a ballsy call and it worked.
When did we become so afraid as citizens of admitting our opponents might sometimes makes sense, and there are areas of agreement, and that those on the other side of the aisle can often achieve great success? We still might not vote for them, but to deny accomplishment is, frankly, childlike, small and, in the end, stupid.
It is not about giving credit...it is the arrogance of obama in his presentation when he announced it. Please read how the two Presidents responded. obama is not a man to humble himself.
Hillary Clinton got it right when she said that if Obama walked on water, the Republicans would say it just proves he can't swim. No matter what he accomplishes, the racists and haters will continue to diss him. Just ignore them, as the country's changing demographics will soon render them obsolete and irrelevant.
al quiada can now see that bin laden was a hypocrit who actually embraced western luxuries such as air conditioning, tv, and electricity; in addition to being a coward who hid behind women.
Surely it is Allah's will that bin ladens true nature has been revealed to the world, and has used US troops to remove bin laden from the planet. Ahullah Akbar!
Not to mention they found Porn and a Viagra Type medicine. I thought it was against the quran to have self gratification.
I wander what type of porn it was. Hope it was Bisexual in nature and it leaks. What would it mean if the holy leader of the mujahideen was gay. They might put c4 on themselves and off themselves in an empty field LOL.
I want to like our president, but he does nothing to inspire me. Please read how the two Presidents responded after the capture of Saddam Hussein and Osama
George W. Bush speech after capture of Saddam Hussein: The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq . The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator's footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate 'em.
Barack Obama speech after killing of Osama bin Laden:
And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network. Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by our intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan . And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad , Pakistan .
yeah, its not like obama said the following in that speech:
Tonight, we give thanks to the countless intelligence and counterterrorism professionals who've worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome. The American people do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice.
"We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our country. And they are part of a generation that has borne the heaviest share of the burden since that September day.
sheesh, talk about selective journalism.
And in addition, its not like saddam was captured in a raid specifically authorized by bush, in another country's territory, etc.
It is all about presentation. He did not need to take credit. The American people can figure that out themselves. We are in a national crisis and we need to be talking about this. I believe he was playing politics as usual. And yes, he did say that as well as what you had said. It is presentation and he does nothing for me.
Psalm109:5 - It's all about your presentation too and it does nothing for me. You intentionally distort facts so that they meet your ideology. And the American people can easily figure that out too. Do not agree with everything that Obama does but he does deserve credit when credit is due.
Psalm, you are only splitting red pubic hairs, just like a wingnut.
If anything at all had gone wrong with that raid, Obama would be the only one getting the blame; since it went well, he gets to share a fraction of the credit. It was a ballsy decision, given the odds.
And, your "damning" quotes are nothing more than the President clearly explaining the sequence of events and the chain of command.
Obama should have flew in on a jet fighter in a jumpsuit and declare "mission accomplished". And that would be just for his inauguration. For finding Bin Laden, perhaps he could have done the same, but the sign would read "mission really accomplished" or something.
stoopid-guess you do not know the story behind the "Mission Accomplished" banner or you are trying to score cheap points but everyone knows what you are saying is B.S. Please quit spinning the lies of that banner, it makes you look foolish
when GW made the speech in front of that banner, he said "In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed".
It was only AFTER the public made a stink about it that the White House backstepped and tried to say the banner was placed up there at the request of the men serving that carrier. Who made the banner to begin with, hmm?
LOL bush owns nothing but owes everything to the people he made rich!
Defense Contractors
Energy Contractors and Speculators
Construction Contractors
.... war is money and thats been the attitude of every CEO commander and chief we have had. its CEO first and President Second. Gotta work on the investments for yourself, family, and Crony friends. Then America last!
All yall get over yourselves Osama won, he just hasn't survived to see anymore how much he won. My sac gets grabbed at airports by strangers, soon everyone will be required to have a passport to buy food, people distrust others because of a name or a skintone and we are all subject to unprecedented government scrutiny. I might add that scrutiny is also unconstitutional and definetly not in the mold of what The Founders intended.
That is not true. Majority of Americans don't care about skintone nor do they care about airport policies. We want to be safe not just feel safe but be safe. I want a president that represents the nation as a whole and I don't see it. His speeches are meaningless and they seem it is all about him. I care less about his skintone. I want a strong leader. I want a president that sees the dangers that we are in and/or may encounter and not passify Americans to what he or whatever President wants us to believe.
Americans do care about airport policies, and they're costing the airlines plenty of customers. I can actually drive to San Diego (300 miles) faster than I can drive to the airport, arriving two hours early to jump through all the stupid hoops. I'd be halfway to San Diego before that over-regulated paranoid plane ever gets off the runway.
It's made short-hop trips impractical and it's killing the airline industry as a result, which is exactly what Al Qaeda wanted to do when they hijacked the airliners. The airport policies are doing a better job than Al Qaeda ever did.
I want a sensible leader who doesn't overreact. One shoe bomber on an international flight and now we all have to take off our shoes to get on an airplane? It's that kind of stupid overreaction to a shoe bomb (which didn't even work, incidentally) which makes me think we truly have the stupidest, most incompetent government the world has ever seen.
If short hops are impractical, why is Southwest flying with full planes? They are the most profitable carrier, and short hops is almost their entire bag. I'll grant you that there is a bit of hassle involved in air travel and that some of it is an overreaction. Nevertheless, it is nowhere near as bad as you make it out to be. For the record, I fly twice a week every week and have been doing so for a dozen years.
MeanGene, the scary thing is that I don't think you are joking! Over regulated security? Are you serious?
Yeah, I think you mean that "over-regulated, paranoid potential weapon of mass destruction".. that would be another way to think about it. Yeah, let's go back to letting complete strangers immediately board what amounts to be a giant missile that is capable of destroying skyscrapers! WOW.
i agree, bin laden is winning. problem is that most of our people are too wrapped up in their partisan political demogagery. we're giving up our liberties, mortgaging our economic future and way of life, all in order to get some false sense of security, and we can't and won't get it. seriously, what really are the odds of you being killed by terrorists? how much does your so-called government protection insurance policy cost you? the ignorant and scared will forever be preyed upon those who seek the power to rule over you...
Yeah because wmd's go off all the time? Are you kidding me!
Most of these posts have been retarded.....ooh not being pc am I. For example, "I want a president that represents the country as a whole". Let's break this statement down. How many parties does are system have? At the minimum 4 but the reality is there are two big hitters. So that leaves us with Reps and Dem parties which a majority of Americans belong to. These parties don't agree on anything but Psalm wants someone to bring us all together....good luck.
How come no one ever mentions the "spoken on the condition of anonymity clause" that people use. These people are giving out presumably classified information to the press and nothing happens to them.
That is treason and everyone of these people, not just in this article but all of them, should face the punishments of such an act.
A plane can't be used as a weapon of mass destruction anymore because no matter what, no hijacker is ever going to be getting into a pilots seat on a jet again. The doors are inaccessible so there's no point in even trying to repeat the 9-11 scenario. The best terrorists can hope for is to blow a plane out of the air and that's never happened in the USA.
Full planes on short hops are connecting flights. The passengers aren't going short distances, the planes are. It's difficult to even find a carrier which doesn't involve a connecting flight.
its amusing that you would chose the name of one of our founding fathers with that outlook. wasn't it another one who said that those who give up liberty for security will get neither? we've got neither...
Thank you for wishing me dead. The chances of that happening are slim to none. You keep living your life in fear and let the government control every move you make.
I would not call an airplane a wmd. As terrible as 9/11 was, and I do not take that lightly by any stretch of anyone's imagination, those planes were not wmd's. Let a dirty bomb go off in New York, DC, Philly any city in the US and then you have a wmd. Tens of thousands of people die, maybe even hundreds of thousands die.
I know you are a troll and I should not answer you but it disappoints that you would wish someone you don't even no, dead.
You are a worthless piece of crap and part of the problem of this great country. I don't mind debating/arguing over politics...hell, I would even respect the fact that you have your own opinion but not wish ill on you. I can agree to disagree. Such is life.
Yes one wmd going off is one too many, but I am not worried about it happening. Worrying about it never stopped it. I have more of a chance of a plane falling out of the sky and landing on me then having your wmd kill me and I live near DC. Don't even get me started on the chances that I will die in a car accident....which I am sure you want to happen. I also bet you have a Jesus sticker somewhere on you car don't you?
When was the last time that an El AL plane was Hijacked or bombed? I believe that they have been doing something right for 40 or so years now. Do they have pat downs? Do they have Full Body Scanners? Do they have planes turn around because a note is found in the bathroom?
Answer to all questions is NO! If I want to fly somewhere and El AL goes there I'm flying EL AL.
In some ways I am main stream America, in some ways not. I have traveled abroad several times and gone through check points and security many times. Security and inspections in China are no different than those here in America. I do not object to having my bags searched if will make others feel safer. I have been scanned and searched many times. It only takes a few minutes and if you do not get lippy with the security people you have no problems what ever. I have been treated courteously at every inspection and search. I am polite to the security personnel and have found them to be very helpful many times when I have had to get directions or have questions answered. People who bitch about the security procedures at airports would bitch if they were hung with a new rope.
Yep. Just like the guys who create anti-virus software! Go home at night and create the virus, go to work the next day and create the anti-virus! Now that's job security.
If ANYONE had ANY connection to bin Laden whatsoever, you know they are watching their backs right now and for a long time to come. If bin Laden knew your name, you have no way of knowing if he typed it on his computer or wrote it down on a piece of paper... LOL
1 destroyed special stealth helicopter = 20 million dollars.
Yep, I would say with drone strikes continuing so soon after the raid, the US doesn't give a rats ass what comments come out of Pakistan.
Personally, I think we need to pull out of both Afghanistan and Pakistan and us our strength, the only thing that has shown real results against these terrorits: high technology!
Next time something goes down and we trace it to one of these countries, no more boots on the ground. Hit them BVR! (beyond visual range) or with drones. Violence is the only language these people understand.
yeah, corsair, great idea..you have desperately poor people living in land they've lived in for hundreds of years in places like the mountains of pakistan, and they should move out "just in case" al quada might or might not be living somewhere nearby?
You don't have any clue about realities of living in third world countries, do you?
Vermont, the people of Afghanistan need to solve their own problems. They create the problems themselves.
For instance, Afghanistan has the 4th highest birthrate on the planet. Country building begins in individual homes with a little thing called "family planning". Having 10 kids when you can't afford 1 is not family planning. It's chaos!
There is an old saying "Those who live by the sword, die by the sword".
Regardless of where your family has lived for hundreds of years and how poor you are, if you are living near people who refuse to live in peace and are living "by the sword" - you should probably relocate - no matter what it takes.
Again it is not about race. It is interesting that you assume that I am white. Race is always the first point that people pull out of their hat when someone disagrees with a politician that happens to be black, hispanic, a woman and so on. George Bush got slammed for everything and the liberal media spewed hatred in a horrible way. What was there reason for their comments about George? I am just having discourse and many of you seem to think it is ok to slam me. Go ahead! It is what you did to George Bush for 8 years.
no one cares if you love an inbred redneck or not. Faux news leans towards Rebuplicans and MSN leans towards Democrats. I hate the fact i have to watch 3 or 4 different news outlets just to get the full story. Opinons are like @$$wholes and everyone has one.
I voted for bush his first term but didn't on his second so with that said.......im sorry i voted for him on his first.

Dont care what color you are but considering your screen name you seem like a bible thumpin conservative. I bet Sarah Palin is your hero. What scares me is that there are people that would actually vote for that idiot as well. Everytime that woman opens her mouth its like listening to a chalkboard get scratched!

I slammed bush for most of his presidency for being manipulated into the iraq invasion, where he consulted god for his approval to invade..setting off years of american deaths and casualties.
he deserved that. Shamefully, the "liberal media" initially lapped up all the pro-war propaganda, proving that they are less "liberal" and more "profit hunting PR weenies".
yeah no kidding on the consultation of god for approval. I dont think i want anyone else that allows their Ridiculigous Ideas to sway decision making anymore.
(that word is a combination of rediculous and religous for those that dont get it)
The second bin Laden story today. Obama must really be tanking in the polls! Good thing he has the MessNBC cheerleaders constantly at the ready. David Plouffe probably ghost writes all these stories.
LOL! the cheerleaders are the "men" at MSNBC and the angry coach is Rachel Maddow.
My guess is every time we hear about Obama and the death of bin Laden from now until the elections, it will mean unemployment has gone up another point!
Yes I have to agree with you more has been done in 2 1/2 years of Obama then Bush
We lost 2 Million jobs since March 2009(AFTER the Recovery Act)in Obama's first 2 1/2 years. Bush LOST 200,000 in his last 2 1/2 years in Office.
We have increased the debt $2.6 Trillion in 2 1/2 years. It took Bush 5 years (2001-2006) to increase the debt by $2.7 Trillion.
Yep Obama has done much better then Bush.
Job loss--
Total Jobs by month. http://www.bls.gov/webapps/legacy/cesbtab1.htm You'll have to check the non-farm non-seasonally adjusted box then scroll down and click on retrieve data to find the chart.
Notice that the news article has to cite that the provider of the information provided it without permission to do so? So who do you believe? I don't believe any of it. Just a bunch of media bull @!$%# trying to stir the pot of crap they swim in every day.
To try to mitigate, staff and support this data not to mention timing will cost a fortune. We may as well place America under Marshall law. Maybe that too is all part of the master plan for one world order.
the only thing obama "got" was his face on camera. the only thing he did was to give the go ahead order, a singluar command action, and for that he desrves credit. the SEALs and the CIA and anyone else who did the real work are the ones who "got" bin laden. to give credit or discredit to any of these politicians is a discredit to those who actually "got" things done. about time people "got" off their knees and quit showering their undying love on these useless elected officials...
Pretty gutsy move by obama since, if it had backfired, it could have cost the country dearly in terms of support for our anti-terrorism efforts. he certainly deserves credit for making that call, whether you want to give it to him or not is irrelevant.
Since obama gave plenty of credit to everyone else, there is NO "discredit" here.
Thanks for the President Obama, his administration, the CIA, the SEAL, and others military unsound hero and heorine.
Get over matt. The fact is Obama got bin laden - Bush didn't - it's that simple whether you like it or not (and you obviously don't).
Most agree with you.
Also the information unearthed should be put to good use.
All the Paki handlers also deserve punishments.
There a lots of people that deserve credit, including; the intelligence agencies (US and others), SEAL team 6, Obama, Bush, congress, etc.
For once, I wish people could put politics aside and just say "nice job everyone"...
Only fools keep records..and this fool is a DEAD one now!
Yes just like our USA government..keeping records ( of everything) can bite ya in the azz in future..better off not having them for everything.
These stories piss me off. They should have told us Bin Laden was able to destroy all of his records. The best intellegence is ALWAYS the stuff our enemies don't know we have.
Records in right hands can be of lots of use. It depends upon how the information are used.
We should have a monthly hit list. Every month go over there and take out another member of al-quida. They can talk all the smack they want but they would get alittle taste of terrorism as they lay awake wondering when the helicopter is going to land and the seals take them out.
There is not so much time.
After the data are analyzed, just hit the al-Qaida and Islmic militants right away without giving breathing time.
I can't wait for Operation Hungry Hippo where we open the paper one morning and find out we got 65-75%% of our remaining targets in one night.
Wishful thinking I guess.
but it would be fun to see these towelhead get knock off one by one, though.
These towel-heads should be knocked out in one night. Or else, they hide in different places.
Obama just happened to be the one in office when the CIA finally found the
b...... and our sailors took him out. Essentially, Obama only gave an answer.
Yes or No, to him being taken out. This is NOT an Obama victory, but an AMERICAN victory!!
Good Gawd Almighty - you Righties are an entertaining bunch of Goobers!

Well said, Ray 402!
yeah, its not like obama ended the speech with the following reference to america:
Ray402
Yep!! You got that right. Along with letting OBL get away you forgot to mention that it was Bush who bombed the WTC on 9/11
I can't disagree with that but it is hardly more childish than calling Bin Laden a Bush family friend. If you're going to call the kettle black you should avoid being the pot because it makes you look like a hypocritical moron.
Good. Those we find with the docs seized during the raid:
KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL!
Those still in Guantanamo Bay:
KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL!
I would bet anyone 10 bucks that Psalm 109:5 thinks obama is "probably" the anti-christ.
thanks CAL USA, we really were missing some ignoramus playing the race card....
This is American politics. It is a tough game. Stop whining.
CAL USA: You had me right up until you said "racist." That one word discredited your whole post in my eyes, even though I agree with much of it.
CAL USA is right on! We all know racism doesn't exist anymore.
Its simple Dox Dox... Most conservatives dont like anything liberal ... ya know... like liberties!
So they bash anyone that isnt on board with the GOP agenda.
Excellent point DoxDox.
@Psalm109 - Wouldn't you expect someone who just eliminated THE main target of terror to be proud? How exactly was he arrogant?
al quiada can now see that bin laden was a hypocrit who actually embraced western luxuries such as air conditioning, tv, and electricity; in addition to being a coward who hid behind women.
No no no, they got it all wrong... It was actually just a goat husbandry video... I can understand why they made the mistake though...
I want to like our president, but he does nothing to inspire me. Please read how the two Presidents responded after the capture of Saddam Hussein and Osama
George W. Bush speech after
capture of Saddam Hussein:
The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq . The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator's footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and
precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in
their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate 'em.
Barack Obama speech after killing
of Osama bin Laden:
And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to
make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al
Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and
defeat his network. Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by our
intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far
from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I
met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan . And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that
compound in Abbottabad , Pakistan .
yeah, its not like obama said the following in that speech:
Tonight, we give thanks to the countless intelligence and counterterrorism professionals who've worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome. The American people do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice.
"We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our country. And they are part of a generation that has borne the heaviest share of the burden since that September day.
sheesh, talk about selective journalism.
And in addition, its not like saddam was captured in a raid specifically authorized by bush, in another country's territory, etc.
apples and oranges.
BFD.
Please quit spinning the lies of that banner, it makes you look foolish
oi812,
when GW made the speech in front of that banner, he said "In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed".
It was only AFTER the public made a stink about it that the White House backstepped and tried to say the banner was placed up there at the request of the men serving that carrier. Who made the banner to begin with, hmm?
doesn't matter who made it. doesn't matter who requested it. Bush owns it.
Then America last!
regardless everyone must remember two very important things.
"THE BUCK STOPS HERE."
"IGNORANCE IS EXCUSABLE. TO REMAIN THAT WAY IS NOT."
I did not know that.
MeanGene,
If short hops are impractical, why is Southwest flying with full planes?
It's difficult to even find a carrier which doesn't involve a connecting flight.
stupid1... i pray that if another airplane ever hits another skyscraper.... i pray you are in it!
perhaps in that last split second of your life you will realize that one WMD going off is one too many.
its amusing that you would chose the name of one of our founding fathers with that outlook. wasn't it another one who said that those who give up liberty for security will get neither? we've got neither...
George W
When was the last time that an El AL plane was Hijacked or bombed? I believe that they have been doing something right for 40 or so years now. Do they have pat downs? Do they have Full Body Scanners? Do they have planes turn around because a note is found in the bathroom?
Answer to all questions is NO! If I want to fly somewhere and El AL goes there I'm flying EL AL.
so very true Ray! its no longer the United States of America. Its the United States of Corporations
Am sure that the squirrels inside of the government will warn the targets and this will carry on like everything else. Called Job security.
Yep. Just like the guys who create anti-virus software! Go home at night and create the virus, go to work the next day and create the anti-virus! Now that's job security.
Wow, this kinda sounds like how this stuff is supposed to work, doesn't it?
Focus on an objective, attain the objective, reap the benefits from attaining the objective.
Well done, to everyone involved.
These documents are awesome!
Terrorists living in terror? PRICELESS.
High level US envoys met with Pakistan to "take the edge off".
In laymans terms, they told them to sit back and STFU.
The ass holes knew where he was, yet kept collecting our money to fiance their war with India.
That would be a great idea George, only Americans are pussies and too politically correct
to get to sound solutions like that.
"What about collateral damage" they will cry.
Well between you and I, I don't give a rats.
If you know you live around the bad guys,, you had better move, or die.
The irony of that is that it wasn't India who almost marched into their capital a few years ago, it was the Afghanis.
yeah, corsair, great idea..you have desperately poor people living in land they've lived in for hundreds of years in places like the mountains of pakistan, and they should move out "just in case" al quada might or might not be living somewhere nearby?
You don't have any clue about realities of living in third world countries, do you?
Yes Mr. Vermont , I do, I lived and traveled to quite a few.
And believe me, the poor always go where the money is.
They have dollar signs in their eyes and little common sense.
If you don't believe me, you can use the liberal wlefare systems as an example.
The only difference is, we don't use the poor as human shields.
Well, I take some of that back.
During election time, liberals DO use them as shields.
Regardless of where your family has lived for hundreds of years and how poor you are, if you are living near people who refuse to live in peace and are living "by the sword" - you should probably relocate - no matter what it takes.
yeah im about ready to quit helping Pakistan out and start selling weapons to India. I like their artwork better anyways!

Well, with three tries, I think you could have shown us some examples of what you consider to be the "liberal media" "slamming" President Bush.
Others might have a different interpretation of events, if you could actually present any.
(that word is a combination of rediculous and religous for those that dont get it)
Psalm stop posting multiple times. I reported it to MSNBC moderator.
Nah, nah, nah, natter, natter, what a little girl thing to do, I TOLD THE MODERATOR~
Oh, damn! BOLD, CAPS AND ITALIC! You really told me!
BOLD CAPS LOCK UNDERLINE!!!! UNLEASH THE FURY!!!!!!!
My guess is every time we hear about Obama and the death of bin Laden from now until the elections, it will mean unemployment has gone up another point!
i love
Yes I have to agree with you more has been done in 2 1/2 years of Obama then Bush
We lost 2 Million jobs since March 2009(AFTER the Recovery Act)in Obama's first 2 1/2 years. Bush LOST 200,000 in his last 2 1/2 years in Office.
We have increased the debt $2.6 Trillion in 2 1/2 years. It took Bush 5 years (2001-2006) to increase the debt by $2.7 Trillion.
Yep Obama has done much better then Bush.

Nice try though.
now, you did bother to read my second sentence, didn't you? or were you too wrapped up by your compulsion to defend your chosen idol?
