Screw these "people". I say now is a great time to keep the advantage and continue to kill the "holy warriors" where we find them. I hope we did offend the Islamists because their support for Bin Laden offends the rest of the world.
Let Pakistan stop their support for the war on terror. It's just too easy to stop our financial aid and see how they fare with no money. I don't see Iran or anyone else picking up the slack. Screw em!
Hopefully this will open the average Americans eyes...there is a large percentage of this religion that believes that killing Americans is Justice...And those that kill Americans and our Allies are Heroes
One of my most vivid memories of the aftermath of 9/11 is Osama sitting with other "religious" leaders LAUGHING at the damage they did, far greater than they ever expected. Laughing!!! Really? Who is laughing now?? Not losing sleep over what these people are calling "brutal". Thanks to all our military forces who've given their time and their lives to bring us to this victorious time.
Let's not give too much credit to those who just sat in a room and watched it on a monitor after screaming for years to bring the troops home. Just giving the "let's do it" and sitting there doesn't deserve so much credit with me.
They forget who threw the first punch. I am really not a "blood and gore" person. I don't even own a gun or want one in my home but if possible, I wish we could resuscitate him, fix him up and then shoot him over the eye again for each of the 3000+ plus innocent people he murdered.
OBL is no "holy warrior" he is a murderer. If they feel so strongly about America then they should start a revolution to get their corrupt government to STOP TAKING OUR MONEY!!!.
I'm glad Bush didn't get him...You libs and the MSM would be crucifying him and the Seal team right now ....I'm just glad he was killed before President Obama could cut and run
If Muslims/Islamists hate us and want to avenge the death of their martyr, Bin Laden, then stop international monetary support and remove the fanatical Muslims from our country. We've been too soft on immigration and our status in the world. America First!
So what!!! I protest the brutal killings of innocent men, women and children he perpetrated the last 20 years. I protest the continued "holy war" Muslims are perpetrating. We should cut off all aid to these protesters. Let them eat their signs.
Tell these people protesting Osama's death to stop being so enraged. Obama said if he didn't release the pictures, people wouldn't become enraged. So these people have no right to be upset. Tell them to go home and shut up. Obama said so. Once the picture is released, then they can flip a %$#@.
I agree with President Obama about the photos (though I would like to see them)...but if it saves one single Soldiers life...it's a good call....I would however like to hear the President and Lib leadership apologize for forcing Abu Ghirab photos release...which led to many deaths and injuries
Where were the protest when Al Quida operatives were posting onthe web the beheading of hostages held in Iraq? Where were the protest when Daniel Pearl was executed? Where were the protest when Al Quida flew planes into the World Trade Centers?
I'd like to PROTEST the snarky comments made by some Americans who are seething that President Obama was the one who authorized Bin Laden to swim with the fishes.
Right wing pundits, politicians , bloggers and David Koch are putting their negative, unpatriotic, snide verbage out there.
For the most part, Pakistanis have been denied the rudiments of an education. They are illiterate.
What is the "excuse" from the nay-sayers and conspiracy theorists?
I know these Morons pisses us off but they aren't worth a minute of our time, what we should look forward to is pulling out all our troops and of course on more funding also NO more rebuilding of their POS cities, my motto is don't get mad get even .... they have a natural disaster to damn bad, it's time to stop playing mister nice guy! No more food for their hungery, NOTHING! Don't bite the hand that feeds you....
your wrong RI Mom...there may be a few idiots out there saying stupid shyte , but not the large numbers you are infering...they are pretty much the same sort as your libbie idiots that think Bush flew those planes into the trade center towers by remote control...spare us your liberal diatribe and talking points...it's already tired and played...oh and by the way..it was "authorized" while Obama was still a "community orginizer" , when he represented the southside of Chicago, you know, the place that was a shyte hole when he represented it and is still a shyte hole, he didn't "orginize" that community except to hate white people
I don't believe for a moment that Not releasing the pictures will save anyone. I just have no interest in seeing them. There's simply no reason for it.
I remember the videos and pics Al Qaeda put online of the reporters and such they beheaded. We don't need to reduce ourselves to that crap.
The more I read the closer similarities I see between the retoric of the conservative ( radical ) Muslims and the conservative ( radical ) Christian's. They truly seem to hate each other greatly. Like two peas in the same pod, full of hate with zero tolerance for anyone that does not see the world through their eyes.
Talk about handing out speeding tickets at the Indy 500?
Brutal? How about giving Women and Children basic human rights? Stop killing people that disagree or happen to believe something different?
I don't like seeing anyone killed, but its hard to take these clowns serious when their whole existence is centered around violence as a solution to every issue.
People in both crowds referred to the former al-Qaida leader as a martyr.
This why the Administration should never have announced the killing of OBL. They afforded him the ability to become a martyr in the eyes of his followers. He did not deserve this notoriety. Should have just kept their mouths shut and allowed the Osama Elvis sightings to continue. Too bad it was looked at as a policital move, to bump up his poll numbers, instead of what was right for the country and the war on terror.
Yeah vinegar breath I know exactly what you mean. The only difference, choad, is one will cut your head off and the other will pray for your sins. Big difference but hey you knew that. You're just trying to make a connection where one doesn't exist. Like equating apples with bowling balls. Just because your lifestyle is not accepted by mainstream America, and for that matter the mainstream of the world, doesn't mean that the Christian Conservatives are out to get you. Now them Muslim radicals. That's a completely different story.
Boo-hoo and to HELL with them!! Tell them to take a good look at the 3000 plus brutal killings Bin Ladin did in N.Y. alone. Then tell them if they screw up another time, the same thing will be done again!!! AND NO MORE OF OUR $ GOES TO PAKISTAN!!!
Thank you ,you confirmed my statement !! Quess you didn't see the word RADICALS in my post. As to my life style? I am a Christian , just not a radical one, so you want me to pray for your sins? ( I know, you have none ) And I do agree with you about the head cuttings.
I love how conservatives cannot see their own complicity in propagating an ideology that is as controlling as these Muslim clerics. Dump the ideologies. They are worse than religious fanaticism.
If you can't wake up a single morning without using the word "liberal", "progressive", "socialist", "communist", "welfare" or "criminalizing your own fellow Americans, seek professional help.
The US is moving on. Conservatives want to take their country back. First of all, you can't "take" this country anywhere. Second..."back"...how far back? To the days of Ghenghis Khan? Napolean? Hitler? Take your pick.
Your ideology is holding this country back and there are many Americans who are fed up hearing it.
I love hearing the Tea Party folk constantly bring up our Founding Fathers, like they were somehow flawless in their thinking. Its like the original Pilgrims, they were supposedly escaping persecution, however it seems more like they wanted to practice their form of radical Christianity without British law telling them NO.
A lot of damage has been done in the name of God and somehow if your an American Christian you're on the right side? I don't get it and never have.
John Doe...That wasn't the reason. We are Americans. Hopefully, we are above the kinds of uncivil and unspeakable acts of backward and mentally unstable civilizations.
The reason Presdient Obama gave for not releasing those photos was correct: It would endanger any of our military abroad as well as Americans traveling in foreign countries. That is as it should be and this was a call only the President should make to protect our people and military.
Screw these "people". I say now is a great time to keep the advantage and continue to kill the "holy warriors" where we find them.
I sometimes think we need to lob a few cluster bombs in on these crowds. I mean you got mobs of the terrorist's supporters all grouped together. It's a marvelous target.
I also would LMAO if we could arrange a plane to sky write a picture of a middle finger over these crowds.
kevinoffsite...Human beings do battle daily within themselves and without over good and evil. We have indelible spirits that contain that conscience that haunts our every move....or at least for the sanest among us it does.
The concept of God stems from the most basic weaknesses of man to look to a higher power than himself. Each breath we take is measured to our final end. Every human being owes their own demise no matter how their free will allows that to occur. bin Laden's free will led to a violent death as violent as the life he lived. Imagine then, an eternity of that violence replayed over and over and over. Hell...a repetition the conscience owes in death for the life they've led.
Time for Americans to stand up, tell them to F off, and let them know we are done looking for a compassionate route to bridge our cultures. We are the only ones who have made numerous attempts while their hatred festers and grows.
I dont believe thats going to change so lets just stop slapping ourselves silly and tripping over our own feet trying to be the good guys. This certainly blows the arguement that its just a select few Radical Muslims that hate America doesn't it?
We are in a world war with a religious ideology; Islam is dedicated to making everyone convert to their religious concept; when are we going to realize that are only two types of Muslims, the active radical warriors, and the inactive radical warriors; if you are a Muslim, your duty is to convert or kill, that's all folks !
Can we all just be American's for a few and tell these people protesting us over OBL with one voice, to go suck it. I'm tiered of the world wanting us to apologize for things, know what, we where justified to blow this guy away. The UN can suck it as well. A little arrogance is not a bad thing; mess with the best, die like the rest.
"described the al-Qaida founder's burial at sea as a desecration of his body." Are these people really muslims? Our govt told us that by burying him at sea we are respecting Islam? Who is lying?
I am so glad Obama told that little old man in Florida not to burn the KORAN ''"Stop genocide in Libya! Let Muslims rule their own land. US allies: Stay out of Muslim lands." Huh they didn't mention that? But I think they are angry about OBAMA BOMBING LIBYA pakistan afghanistan and Iraq.
"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far."
Obama seems to follow this path and most attribute it to President Roosevelt. Roosevelt described his style of foreign policy as "the exercise of intelligent forethought and of decisive action sufficiently far in advance of any likely crisis"
Oddly, the term originated from an African proverb.
Protesters condemn brutal killing of bin Laden In some respects that headline is a joke. What Bin Laden received was an expedient death. Unlike those burned to death and suffocated in the twin towers. And those trapped on the upper floors with no way to survive. Waiting to to die, just not knowing when. I think Bin Laden got an easy out that he did not deserved. Those innocents in the twin towels received the slow and cruel deaths.
"Oddly, the term originated from an African proverb."
hmmm...when are the "Africans" gonna get their collective heads out of their asses and catch up to the rest of the world?...cradle of life eh?...most cultures grew up and got the hell out of the "cradle"...oddly , just wondering, since you brought them up...
Strength in numbers in 2.2 You forgot another good point about our treatment of the American Indian. The early Colonist often beheaded them and displayed the heads on stakes in the town squares. Christians no less. The human walks a very fine line between us and the rest of the animals. Seems like every time we get a jump on broadening it we blow the opportunity.
As the article reads. There will be more "Osama's" to take his place. This is the way if a jihadist organization. The issue that American's do not seem to get is jihadist welcome death. Oh yes they try to avoid it, but they are not afraid to die for a cause. Most radical Muslims bleed red just like you and I, but that is where the connection ends. Follow this link and see what the radical Muslim world thinks about the US and it's allies on a daily basis. WWW.siteintelgroup.com
If the Muslims jihad arrives on American soil, then racial profiling will run rampant and a civil war may arise here within our own borders. This is exactly what the jihadists' want. To destroy the US from within. Either by their own hand or by the radicals that are already here. We must consider there are connections to terrorist groups already in place here in the US. I for one will be more aware of my surroundings.
I'm am happy to say Florida has a conceal/carry law that allows it's citizens to arm themselves. This is a 2nd Amendment right to all American citizens.
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
So please take note to the information The Site Group offers on it's website. There is good information to make your own determinations and reactions to the information offered.
Overtaxed...Wasting time on any ideology means time you can't recoup. I don't need to share my personal beliefs. They belong solely to me. I try to live right and act according to my conscience. I absolutely never deliberately live my life in a way that diminishes that of another. If that makes me a liberal...so be it.
It's no secret I have a huge distrust of the right wing neoconservatives in this country. I believe, they more than any, are destroying the fabric of unity in this country for what reason they and only they know and understand.
What purpose does any ideology serve if it destroys the future of others? If it seeks to ignore the Bill of Rights admonition of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? The Consitutional right to vote your conscience without ulterior influence?
I consider right winger neoconservatives American terrorists because their backward ideology is the most destructive to the unity this country so depends upon. It is secularism with a backroom agenda. It is nothing more than the propagation of elitism shrouded in an American flag.
If an American cannot expand their right to help others without being branded a "liberal", how sick have the right wing neoconservatives become?
Helping others doesn't mean diminishing their opportunities to promote your own. It doesn't mean skimming from them to bulk out your excesses. Get a clue. If you are overtaxed, shouldn't you be taking that up with those who don't pay their fair share and have more than they need to exist?
AMEN Bevis. I don't think we'll see many more swine like OBL. He was wealthy beyond belief. Some of his siblings live in Maryland and they are wealthy beyond belief. OBL PAID those clerics and that's one of the reasons they support him. It's all about money. Politics and religion are just things that help direct the money, just like America:( I don't know how many more fanatic nuts are out there with as much money as OBL.
Good to see these radicals so upset. To bad they did not lose their loved ones like others have due to their terrorist acts. May all the Muslims radicals pay the price for their actions and visit hell in the end. They warp their religion into something "UNHOLY"
This should have been a secret mission, just go in there take bin laden and don’t tell anyone anything. But I guess the PR for Obama is more important the lives that it may cost.
Ewent - I could echo your sentiments, and you have probably described a lot of branded Liberals who actually are not. Some people choose to live with their conscience and some chose to live strictly by a systematic approach, and some are just ideological idiots. For example I believe we have become an entitlement State but that doesn't mean we have to completely end all programs originally designed to help those who need it. Reform is tough because its a political football and the predominate sides are set in stone and there is no room for a common sense approach. This is our great challenge going forward, how to find common sense policies not horribly skewed by the lobbyist on both sides.
OVER TAXED - Nothing constructive comes from your statements, its just a bunch rhetoric and name calling. Try giving some ideas for a change.
These are Muslims angry!!! They should be smiling!!! In all their Jihads so far, the vast majority that have been killed are Muslims; and killed by theri own!!!
I guess ewent and others who support your views; to best satisfy you, we should just let the al-Qaida and all who chant death to America just come here and kill the Christian conservatives to get them out of your way, then you will only have al-Qaida and Sharia Law to deal with. I'm sure they will ask political status before cutting off heads. Unless, of course, you convert to their beliefs. I guess 9/11 only killed Christian conservatives too. And, I'm sure these murderers will be happy to contribute to obamacare as well so you can have free (lol, yeh right) health care. And then, you will join in their prayer 5 times A DAY, as Commanded. Oh, but I'm sure many of you moaned about the ONE DAY of National Prayer yesterday. I guess you'd have to change the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem though. Good luck with your venture. You'll need it.
grilledcheesesandwich...I have no problem with the conservatives of old...today's conservatives are sore losers and destructive. That's the difference. Today's conservatives seek to destroy the rights of others. They do this by insisting their way is the ONLY way.
I don't believe hardworking Americans are an entitlement anything. I believe if you pay into Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, you should get what you paid for. I don't believe I should have to bailout men whose wealth far exceeds my own and millions of other Americans just to protect wealth.
If there is any entitlement in this country it's "wealth protection". I'm fed up on that. More of my paycheck is spent on taxes and now we hear that since 2006, there are at least 10 American greedheads who have earned more than $200 million in wealth. How much taxes are they paying on that? or is this more of that wealth protection entitlement to tax credits and tax breaks the rest of us end up paying for?
Americans have always been hard working individuals. Check your facts. The number of welfare recipients only grew in this last decade because greedy SOBs unemployed them and made countries like China, India and Mexico more financially stable than their own country. How is that not wealth liberalism?
If you earn wealth without any employees or customers, God Bless. If not, pay your fair share.
Everyone who is critical of the US giving money to Pakistan-did you notice how we didn't tell them what we were doing? It would make sense that, if we were trying to pretend that we didn't know where he was until we had our plan in place, we would do things like continue to support them financially to keep up the charade.
While I do not support continuing to keep these people in power now, I do appreciate that there are still many more terrorists out there-perhaps with more actual influence than Osama. For a while now, people were questioning our funding of Pakistan-now we understandit was part of a larger plan. Realizing that American had Pakistan's number all along and was just fooling them, I question if we are not doing the same in other places and am less hasty to make judgements on our actions.
Also, I do think it is in our best interests to keep governments in power that do support us-financially supporting them if needed to keep the extremists from taking control.
You hit the nail on the head. The people forming the Osama funeral /support crowds are the ones committing the terrorism or giving it material/physical support. I've said for a long time that we should either bomb those crowds or arrest every person at them to at least record who they are. I'm also in favor of flyovers of them to dust them with a 2 week half life radioactive powder. Within a few weeks they'll all be dead of various tumors and cancers- plus they'll carry it home to their buddies on their clothes. (Mr. Nice Guy with the kid gloves died on 9-11.)
Merlin...They are angry and meanwhile back at mosque in Pakistan some beady-eyed Imam is thrilled that his last gospel of terror riled up that anger. Proves to this eunoch of faith that he's still got the power. Behind every riled up crowd there's an instigator who knows exactly what pumps his power juices....an angy mob he can get to do his dirty work.
These people can lick my nutsack. Yeah, Bin Laden was oh so careful about how he treated people when he was alive. Nevermind about the thousands of innocent civilians he sentenced to death. These protesters should be glad we aren't dragging his dead corpse through every town square in the country so people could spit on it. But, while my inner rage wants that, I know that is not how reasonable civilized people act. He is dead and he deserves to be dead, if for nothing else, he will not be able to kill more innocent people.
JustAFlier...I am too proud of our president, CIA and our military for a mission accomplished with bravery and courage. If we address what could have happened and didn't, it's easier to feel some measure of relief that bin Laden is history.
The USA isn't perfect, but when you consider that almost every nation of the world is connection to us in some way or other, that's a burden that we often overlook.
ewent - and I don't have a problem with "old-school" democrats. I have a huge problem with liberals.
"today's conservatives are sore losers and destructive. That's the difference. Today's conservatives seek to destroy the rights of others. They do this by insisting their way is the ONLY way."
Once again, you just described exactly how I view the liberal movement in this country. EXACTLY. So once again, what makes you better? Liberals are JUST as guilty of the exact same things that you accuse conservatives of. It doesn't get any more hypocritical.
You speak nonsense and all you do is promote class warfare. Who are you to say how much is too much for someone to earn? If we are talking privately owned companies, the people who started and run those companies took a lot of risks to be successful. They have the right to reap the rewards of that risk-taking. And smart business owners reward their employees appropriately or risk losing them to other business owners. But their money is NOT your money - and it's just that attitude that makes me despise liberal-think.
And, ewent, many jobs have gone overseas because of out of control unions. There are problems on both sides of the aisle. But people like you who refuse to admit it only make the situation worse than it already is. You are so smugly arrogant about the "rightness" of your position. So once again, what makes you any different from many conservatives? Hmmm?
Maybe we should help them meet their god. Every time that there is a protest like this against the US, we should send in a drone and end the protest. We don't have to worry about the dead terrorist and they can think they are going to meet allah. To me that seems a win-win situation. Do it that way enough times and we may eliminate them all.
I think it's pretty funny that the 'protesters' are condemning the 'brutal' death of a man who killed thousands of people with far more brutality and far less reason. Okay, so he hated the USA. How does that justify all of the foreigners he had killed in the WTC? Even Muslims were murdered that day yet that was all "fair play" to these morons.
You blow up our buildings, we shoot the leader responsible. Technically that's underkill... In order to be "fair" there should be an equal number of Bin Laden supporters thrown off a 110 story building as there were people killed during 9/11. If there are that many who still support this modern-day Hitler wannabe.
ewent just a little correction to your post 1.63. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness is not in the bill of rights or the Constitution for that matter. It's in the Declaration of Independence. Which was sent to King George. Just so you know for future reference.
"....protested Friday over the killing of Osama bin Laden, with one cleric vowing the holy war against the U.S..."
I wish the media would report everything me and my friends say. We are about as significant as these 60 people. Stop trying to invoke fear!Jeez. Who cares what a couple of dollar-a-day uneducated people are saying? If that's the case, write articles about one old, racist Klansmen so the world can perceive all white people to have that same ideology.
Ohhhhh, REALLY? They want us to stay out of Muslim countries? Well, they should have thought about that before 9/11. Did they think we were just going to sit over here and wring our hands? They knew then we were going to go over their and kick their a$$es.
I guess it's only extremism when the conservatives say something, but I see you had no problem with Wills extremism. Here' I'll share it with you. Don't want you to feel left out.
These idiots are - exactly - as wacky as the Republican/Tea Party/"Religious" Right Cartel, just as ignorant, morally corrupt, incompetent - all the symptoms of tyrants; the difference being, they have not done a fraction of the damage to the United States that the Republican/Tea Party/"Religious" Right Cartel has done....
Thank you though for admitting extremism yourself. You said so in your comment back to me. Here, I'll share it with you. You said it, I didn't.
How is that not as bad as the rest of the extremists you are bashing?
grilledcheese...Except that you accuse Democrats of being sore losers when they are always the clean up crew for your Republicans. This, since Hoover. If i were a Democrat, I'd be pretty unhappy about always having to clean up the messes Republicans leave behind.
By the way, I was a Republican until Geoge W. Bush managed to create the impression of Republicans as bullies.
As for seeking to destroy rights, you can look no further than Republicans who knew for 8 years healthcare was smashing small business to smithereens, causing huge medical bankruptcies and then did absolutely nothing to stop the HMO greed.
If Republicans don't stop protecting wealth, their party is in serious danger of extinction.
You bet your bippy I promote class warfare especially when I'm the class becoming totally extinct. I have a distinct loathing for being denied my retirement and having to work till I drop at my desk. I have a distinct dislike for working harder, longer and for less while some rich boy Republican billionaire gets tax credits that I now have to pay more taxes to fill in his gaps.
Don't talk about class warfare until you are ready to address the huge gap between the rich and poor Republicans created in just 8 Bush years. Should you need a refresher on why that gap occurred, try the unemployment that grew to 8 million by 2008, the Financial Meltdown perpetrated by white collar criminals the Republicans not only ignored but helped with every Big Business friendly piece of legislation they passed in those 8 Bush years.
How about neocons start looking in their own backyards for a change before you go off half-cocked nosing in the backyards of the rest of us who are doing our American duty? Pay your fair share and there's no need for class warfare. Don't and see if we the nearly extinct Middle Class help you remember where you all came from.
You actually converse with ewent? I gave it up a long time ago. It gave me a headache and solved nothing. He/she lives in his/her own little reality that resembles the real world not in the least. He/she is a knee jerk contrarian and will argue the opposite of any comment made by a Conservative. Reminds me a lot of Michael Moore.
You are a racist. Your words are incendiary. Africans were advanced in their day more so than other civilizations. If you recall the empires of Kush and the ancient Egyptians; they had the power and the wealth while other nations were building and struggling.
Now they're not advanced and we are.
In the rise and fall of empires it will be our turn to leave the top spot too especially since people aren't willing to learn that historic lesson that keeps repeating. You NEVER know where advancements will happen. Right now China is poised to take the lead in finance around the world and has already been leading in production of goods.
Really Svenolafson? You are the biggest joke on these boards. It appears you only show up on articles that involve Muslims. You spread nothing but hate and fear. I'm glad ewent gave you a headache. Just shows you are incapable of understanding the world outside of the news that's fed to you. Makes me feel less bad for looking down on you.
I say @!$%# You and We are going to kill all you crazy sick religious zealots one by one your sick twisted days are numbered 8)
We should start with that smart ass flip Muslim cleric Jamil Yahya break his god damn finger off then put a bullet in his stupid face 8) it's pukes like this guy that make the world we live in dangerous for all humans.
Osama is being @!$%#ed right now by 78 demons in what we call a train 8)
Do you guys think macho bravado is going to stop these nutjobs from loading up a car with explosives and exploding in rush hour traffic? or driving into a busy farmers market, and going kablooey?
I dont think most of you see how this stuff works...they kill our people, we go irate and launch a massive war that costs more muslim lives than american lives (and more soldiers have died than died in the initial attack)...
we kill their main guy, and they vow to avenge the killings (just as we did the 9/11 killings) and offer up "youths" who are willing to die to kill americans. And no doubt, more muslims will die ...and more americans too, and then...the next major attack on americans.
and then we, get irate...and vow to avenge those killings, and continue the vicious cycle.
I just wonder, anyone got any clue how to break this cycle...cuz Im not seeing an end in sight.
ewent - Don't talk about class warfare until you are ready to address the huge gap between the rich and poor Republicans created in just 8 Bush years. Should you need a refresher on why that gap occurred, try the unemployment that grew to 8 million by 2008, the Financial Meltdown perpetrated by white collar criminals the Republicans not only ignored but helped with every Big Business friendly piece of legislation they passed in those 8 Bush years.
Good post Ewent. I say keep up the class warfare in order to keep Democrats in office long enough to break this country down as it is so we can build the Marxist society that we want.
The disparity between rich and poor is an intolerable part of this country that has been around since before this country was formed. Everyone would be happier if we were all equal, even if the government confiscated private property and used force to make us that way.
Confiscating the wealth from the rich can feed many a poor family, but we need to confiscate the considerable wealth held by the middle class too. It is too easy for the middle class to be complacent and comfortable in their careers and their suburban homes and forget the rest of the people. This in itself is just more inequality. I think Obama and the Democrats understand this and their tax policies that will come into effect in the next few years will go a long way in reducing the often unspoken gulf between the middle class and the poor.
Proud2to liberal, you aren't liberal, your Communist. Or do the two think alike?
That line of thinking scares me, should scare all Americans. And it's gotten to the point there's enough idiots out there that think like this to make it happen.
Bin Laden had to die, period. But these protestors are making at least one valid point: We need to get the F*** out of the middle east.
These people have a right to be pissed at America. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying... Terrorists need to be hunted down the way Bin Laden was, but the people of the middle east DO have the right to be pissed America, because how would YOU feel if Pakistan or Iran or Iraq were contantly conducting military action in North America?? That wouldn't stand, not for a second! Don't be so narrow-minded!
If terrorist acts are conducted or even attempted towards the US or it's allies, hunt them down and take them out! Otherwise, enough of the constant foreign interventionism!!
We need to stop acting like we are the world police. The trillions we spend on this BS could easily be used to solve so many problems domestically, as well as boosting homeland security and national defense.
"I consider right winger neoconservatives American terrorists because their backward ideology is the most destructive to the unity this country so depends upon"
You can always count on ewent to turn a story about the radical Muslim street into her ongoing incoherent fantasys about the really super-duper terrifying "neoconservatives American terrorists" in our midst. I'd love to put her in a room full of our "American terrorist" founding fathers. They would wonder (like I do) what planet she was from.
That has got to be one of the scariest posts I have ever read. You exemplify the serious differences between Conservative and Liberal thought:
Liberal: equality at all costs "Everyone would be happier if we were all equal, even if the government confiscated private property and used force to make us that way"
Conservative: Justice at all costs, Equality is a mythical utopian fantasy. People are content when they know they have been treated justly.
There is a difference, and Proud to be Liberal at least boldy clarifies the liberal montra.
You are illustrating the problem with the current political dialogue. Do you really think it is valid to clump an entire group of people together like that (liberal or conservative), and boil them down to one monolithic perspective (or "mantra") in 30 words or less? Incredibly narrow-minded...
The only mantra that "Proud to be Liberal" clarifies is his own.
Good post Tod. Yes, scary indeed. And people like this are breeding more and more and my taxes are helping pay for their births. That's just as bad as my taxes help paying for abortions. I don't believe he is a liberal though. Marxist, yes.
He sounds like he'd be happy just being a government donkey, in more ways than one.
It's pretty sad that those hateful lefties turn a post about radical murderous Muslims into hate speech about conservatives and Tea Party folk.
Sounds like someone needs a hug.
Seriously - you rant about the few who exaggerate using comparisons to Hitler and other such nonsense, and then you turn around and do exactly the same thing.
Hate is hate, it's wrong, it divides, and it kills.
You are a racist. Your words are incendiary. Africans were advanced in their day more so than other civilizations.
And you suffer from a nutritional deficiency of iodine from birth. The operative word in the above sentence is "were". Past tense son. You calling Over Taxed Again a racists because he dared to challenge a poster's assertion that some African proverb was behind Theodore Roosevelt's foreign policy, as being pretty lame due to the fact that Africa hasn't amounted to a hill of beans since, oh I don't know, Egypt had a Pharaoh! The race card. The last bastion of those that can't argue facts. But, because I am so kindhearted, I will forgive you due to your nutritional deficiency of iodine since birth.
Whomever is in the U.S. flag manufacturing business is probably laughing all the way to the bank this week! Keep up your silly rage, jihadists, and we'll keep getting stronger and more mighty.
Many of us are simply laughing at your juvenile threats.
You are quite possibly the most ignorant person here. The dogs that started the war was way before 9/11. In 1991 and even before that the US invaded the middle east, then also was involved in covert operations in the middle east. The dogs that started the war was the USA, and 9/11 was their military operation. You know how many unarmed citizens were killed in the gulf war? We are the only dogs here.
I heard it was somewhere on the order of 2.2 billion unarmed citizens killed in the gulf war. But hey you got to break a few eggs if you want to make an omelette. :) Is that you Michael Moore?
We did have a policy of doing nothing and we were attacked with increasing violence. We must either neutralize or stop them with whatever means we can up to force, because sitting aside didn't work and doing nothing is condoning their hate and policy of violence towards other nations.
I agree, If they are found with arms KILL them where they stand. Cut off foriegn aid and let them see how far they get. Obama has a ton of egg on his face with the Pakistani Government. That @!$%# was in one of their own cites, not in some cave somplace.
asuras - we have obviously been very active in the middle east since well before 9/11. This all started decades ago. Bin Laden had to die and terrorists need to be held accountable for their actions. However, it is about time we get the F*** out of the middle east.
How would YOU feel if Pakistan or Iran or Iraq were contantly conducting military action in North America?? You wouldn't stand for it, not for a second!
If terrorist acts are conducted or even attempted towards the US or it's allies, that is inexcusable, hunt them down and take them out! Otherwise, enough of the constant foreign interventionism!!
We need to stop acting like we are the world police. The trillions of $$ we spend on this BS could easily be used to solve so many problems domestically, as well as boosting homeland security and national defense.
You are illustrating the problem with the current political dialogue. Do you really think it is valid to clump an entire group of people together like that (liberal or conservative), and boil them down to one monolithic perspective (or "mantra") in 30 words or less? Incredibly narrow-minded...

I am a liberal Democrat. My opinions are my own, but they are anything but unique. I know many MANY fellow socialist Democrats, many of whom work in the education sector. If you ever took the time to read the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx, you would understand where we're coming from.
I have studied Marx/Engels... which actually has nothing to do with what I said.
My point is that Tod was putting people in 1 of 2 boxes, then provided overly simplistic, caricatures for each. What does "Conservative" or "Liberal" even really mean?? Ask 10 people for a definition, and you'll get 10 different answers (half of which will likely just be completely incorrect!)
That point is that people are rarely this black or white... the silent majority of people in this country fall somewhere in between, in the grey. That's the variety, the mixed up blend of political theory that makes up the sum total of our society.
To quote Star Wars, "only Sith's speak in absolutes" :)
The only people "protesting" the "brutal killing" of U. bin Hidin' are people who approve of the violent Jihad this mass murderer waged for 20+ years !!
Osama got his just deserts, if he had wanted to live, he would have frozen after reaching for the sky !! Any other move is a WRONG ANSWER when dealing with someone who declared war on America 15+ years ago and had the blood of thousands of INNOCENT PEOPLE on his hands !!
Would this not be a good time to start dropping bombs on the anti american, pro Usama protesters? Looks like they are all congregating in groups all throughout the middle east. Those are the guys you want dead. ;)
I've been seeing several post of where were they when 9/11 happened. I can tell ya they were dancing in the streets and yelling praise allah. So why is ok for them and not us. We deserve to be able to dance in the streets and yell U.S.A.!! U.S.A.!! And God bless America!! Why do we need to take the PC way and just sit at home and not cheer for our Nations Victory in this 1 battle in the war on terror. as for them that are protesting and threatening retaliations. So be it. But know When the sleeping Giant wakes there will be a heavy price to pay. Ask those who woke him up in WWII. The sad thing is this war will not be over for a very long time and sorry to say it we will have to take out 3/4 of the Muslim population before it happens because they will not stop teaching there kids to hate the U.S.A. and Israel in there schools. This is the difference between us and them we don't put tiles with there countries flags at the doorways of the classroom for them step on coming and going to class. As long as they teach Hate that's what they will do. There will be no peace. Our country is not perfect and it never will be but the glorious thing about us is we can change it if we want to and grow more and more closer to becoming perfect. Our Forefathers made this possible and they saw the big picture even way back then. If you don't like something about the Government you have the perfect tool to get others to listen and get behind your idea with the Internet. So if you see something get on-line and get others to it too. We have some real issues in our great nation. One real problem I see is during elections, we have parties that are not allowed to be heard in the national debates because they don't have enough of the populace backing them. The Dems and Repubs are scared of them getting a foothold in the government and in my opinion this wrong. We are all adults and can make up our own mind of whats or who's best to run this country. All this political biting goes back and forth but is anybody really listening. The ones you all should worry about are the lobbyist and special int rests in Washington they are the real power and they friends on both sides of the aisle. They are the who pushed through all the breaks and corp. welfare and the bailouts. Let all the voices be heard and let us adults make the changes that need to be made so this Great Nation can move a little closer to perfect.
I would say the problem is we don't do enough generalizing. You can not make a coherent argument on subjects like these unless you generalize. I am not denying the importance of individual thought, I simply believe clarification of the ideologies of the two partys (not saying thats ideal either, just that it is what it is) is absolutely neccessary to have meaningful diologue.
Proud to be liberal and ewent obviously represent the extremes of liberal thought (of course you are Marxist proud, don't really need the history lesson), but what I wrote does, I believe, represent the major "general" difference between the two views on governance/economics (clearlyproud's quote is extreme, and maybe I should not have included it to portray all liberals, I appologize)
Equality and Justice are two different worldviews and I believe they clearly define the differences. If each camp understood those differences civil dialogue might be more frequent.
P.S. the fact that 10 people out of 10 would give different definitions of conservative and liberal, highlights the ignorance of the American public, not the need to individualize one's arguments.
Any muslim calling for a Jihad is not a Muslim at all. Any Christian who calls for war in the name of god is not a true Christian. Both are far away from what each religion teaches of the same GOD.
Quite frankly both should go back to the middle East and leave The New world out of it. This fight has been going on for centuries now of years hence 2011.
Osama Bin Laden was a war mongering bastard who used his prior USA training to create a Martyrdom of himself and the Republican politicians with the help of the Democrats trained him period.
Bush Jr followed in his Daddies shoes and royaly jacked up taking him out sooner and dragging this thing out for ten years. Not to mention made money with Haliburton on it all.
Not at all surprised you are an educator, You can not become one without a thorough "liberal" arts education. I am an educator, the classes required for my credential were a painful attempt at marxist brainwashing. My fellow teachers think much like you do. I would say that is one of the main contributors much to our failing educational system. I would like to see a requirement of 10 years work outside the public sector before one can teach. And, of course, I would not mind a pay raise.
joey, perhaps you should read up on both religions before pretending to know how close or far they are from what each teaches about their individual God's.
They are not the same God's. Never have, been never will be.
Halliburton and the rest of your post is kinda incoherent and tired. Whats your point?
Let Pakistan stop their support for the war on terror. It's just too easy to stop our financial aid and see how they fare with no money. I don't see Iran or anyone else picking up the slack. Screw em!
Not a good idea. You don't want to find out what happens when a nuclear power over-run with terrorists becomes a failed state.
seriously! they're lucky we're not as crazy and delusional as them cuz we wouldve spanked them off the face of the earth. im glad that SOB's last memory on earth was an American being justice.
Human nature is amazing. Lets just stop for a moment and put our emotions to the side. Just for a few seconds. You are all saying HOW DARE THEY KILLED 3,000 PEOPLE! Yet in response, we willingly put in direct danger and had killed more than 3,000 young men in war over this, and killed millions of "suspected militants" including children. We are an occupying force in Iraq and in Afghanistan. We have been meddling in the affairs of the Middle East for several decades.
When we rose up against the British in the 1700s, were we terrorists? You can bet the British called us that. They were occupying "our" land - passing dictates we didnt like, so we shot them from the woods. Before we did that though, we were the occupiers for the Native Americans. The Wampanoag, the Narragansetts, the Pequots, and others. They at first attempted to befriend us, but we turned on them when we wanted thier land. We drove them off thier land, cheated them, and started attacking them. When they retaliated - too late, because they had allowed too many Englishmen to set roots down by the time they decided to take action, we slaughtered them - men, women, children - burned their villages to the ground. We called them savages, and terrorists - and our "heroic men" shot them in cold blood.
We did this when they helped us not even decades earlier. People dont rise up against others for the heck of it. When people rise up in violence, its for one of two reasons. Out of desperation due to oppression, or in order to opress. So I say - why are there foreign Muslim groups intent on attacking us? It is not because they envy our "freedoms and liberties". It is because they perceive a wrong has been done to them. Same as it ever was. Human nature stays the same, and history repeats itself. It is significant that a symbol of worldwide economic power was chosen as the target, as well as the Pentagon and White House.
Its easy to be whisked up in the human tide of emotion, but at the end - remember that they did not randomly choose a country from a hat. When one kicks a hornets nest, they get stung. Muslims will not stop attacking us until we stop meddling in thier affairs.
Stop whooping and hollering with joy over the death of ANYone. They put King Philip's (Metacomet) head on a pole and displayed it for several years out in the open for the colonists to enjoy, when he was eventually captured and killed, unarmed, for daring to fight back against the marginalization of his people and the theft of thier land. Just 50 years before his slaughter, his father, (Massasoit) - had helped a ragged band of Europeans survive the winter. If his father had slaughtered them, perhaps the USA would still be the province of the Native Americans...
Just remember. People do things for a reason, and people rise to aggression because of perceived wrongs. NOBODY - I care not the religion, country, or color of the skin - rises up against a powerful group - without reason.
While your eloquent post is well-written, it's all based on one premise. That we instigated all this "meddling in their affairs". Did you ever stop to think about what prompted this meddling? Answer that question, then think about your post. Then edit for correctness.
You answer me, howdy - what instigated the meddling in thier affairs? From what I can glean, its same as it ever was - a bid for control of resources. Bin Laden got involved in aggression as a fighter against Russian invasion / occupation in Afghanistan.... Ill leave it to you from there.
My post isnt so much about the specifics of Osama - its more about human nature, including our OWN reactions, which are less than restrained. It sickens me to see everyone on here so quick to condemn Osama to the 7th level of Hell, without really understanding the entire situation. It does not make Osama a good man, but it doesnt make him an illogical man either. I would not expect to see any defense of the man on here, but it does bother me to see from Americans the same kind of seething rage that perpetuates blood feuds long after the original reason is forgotton. Osama was a man. A man who believed in a cause. One who got entangled in a power struggle, one who believed he was doing what he could against what he perceived as a powerful and negative force on his countrymen. His head is one we would love to put up on a spike, but for many people - mothers and fathers and average people - he IS a hero. We need to step back and think about that, and how history will UNBIASEDLY judge this period. Neither side will be seen as being without blame.
This scenario plays out over and over again. One group rising up against another. Britain as occupier in India saw Ghandi as public enemy #1, as a terrorist. Right now, China sees the Dalai Lama as a "dangerous element". Just more examples in a story as old as human civilization.
...here so quick to condemn Osama to the 7th level of Hell, without really understanding the entire situation...
Hmmm, regardless of 'who started it' there is no excuse for intentionally targetting buildings full of unarmed civilians during non-wartime. Hell it was even a questionable practice in total war before precision weapon systems.
marcello....These muslim clerics in the Middle East have one and one only base of power: largely uneducated, impressionable people they are holding hostage by peppering their entire identity with the word "holy". If they can make that case that they are "holy", anything they do is fine and dandy with their followers. It's time for these religious fanatics to be seen for what they really are: control freaks with a self-aggrandizing agenda.
StrengthInNumbers....Bull-Shiite. I'll grant that you write well and can choose pieces of history to suit your arguement. But it's the wrong arguement.
OBL instigated the attack on us. We said we were going to get him, and we did. These incompetent raghead Paki's, and the rest of the muslim world want to call us out for off'ing one of their own.
I for one am sick and tired of being PC, and Mr. nice to these undeserving, unappreciative people.
Critical Thinker...Read your history. There has always been a huge divide between Christianity and Islam and always will be. The reason has more to do with the need of one religious ideology to dominate the other. All throughout history, the scales of balance on this have swung back and forth.
Religion was never intended to be anything more than a personal spiritual experience. It was the sharing of that spiritual experience that started trouble on both fronts.
Critical thinker, please do just that. Critically thinking means putting aside your emotions and thats not being PC, its being logical. By calling them ragheads, you show yourself to not be thinking critically. Its a tactic as old as time. Dehumanize the enemy to make it easier to kill them. Theyre savages, ragheads, camel jockeys, terrorists, krauts, and other terms for africans, chinese, vietnamese, etc. So knock that stuff off if you want to even enter into a mode of critical thinking. OBL was reacting to some perceived offense. He did not just wake up one morning and think - gee... wouldnt it be fun to round up some guys to fly some planes into a building? OBL saw himself as able to give leadership to scattered farmer-fighters in Afghanistan, fighting against a large force - the Soviets. The USA got entangled by funneling arms to those fighters - in a Cold War gambit to keep communism at bay. But then OBL saw that USA had its own designs on setting up puppet governments in Afghanistan and thats when the USA - Mujahideen alliance went down the ol poopchute.
You dont have to be Mr. Nice. I personally think the Muslim religion is one of aggression. I very much dislike how women are treated, and my kneejerk reaction is that its a religion that causes oppression and hatred - but then again, Christianity doesnt exactly have a lily-white past (think crusades). My main point here is to point out human nature and repeating patterns in History, and to say - step back from the emotional turbulence and equanimously see what is going on. It doesnt mean Osama is a just man. I truly would like to see the Muslim religion fade from the face of this planet. It empowers people like Osama. However - theres no black and white. Theres no He's bad, Im good. Thats only for young children and fairy tales.
My take-home message is dont let rage and hatred consume you. It does nothing but perpetuate and create more of the same. At the same time, sometimes aggression is necessary. Sometimes it is the courageous and right thing to do, to save the innocent from slaughter, to turn away a force bent on pillage and plunder. But the only way to know how and when to respond, is to keep an even head. To be able to stand back and see the world through the eyes of your "enemy".
ewent.... you seem to have forgotten about the crusades. You know, that movement when christians were killing every mulsim and jewish person that would not convert to christianity.
When we rose up against the British in the 1700s, were we terrorists? You can bet the British called us that. They were occupying "our" land - passing dictates we didnt like, so we shot them from the woods. Before we did that though, we were the occupiers for the Native Americans.
"our land" No it was actually British land. This was a British colony and we revolted.
....These muslim clerics in the Middle East have one and one only base of power: largely uneducated, impressionable people they are holding hostage by peppering their entire identity with the word "holy".
Most of these people are highly educated. Many other cultures value education and strive to get all the higher education they can.
Nick - I put "our land" in quotes for a reason....
Britain laid claim to the land simply because it made a declaration. The claim wasn't valid, but that didn't matter. Britain was in the business of taking what it wanted with the business end of a firearm, and so the colonists learned to do the same. Ironic that the colonists cried foul when the British got in thier way, but then they turned around and did the same to the Native Americans who had been helping them establish themselves here. But hey - theres human nature at work for you. The Native Americans helped the colonists in hopes they would be allies to fight the aggressive Pequots and Narragansetts to thier west. OOPS. Human nature again. Its all about - what can you do for me, or what do you have that I can take from you? YUK. We're a piece of work.
At any rate - We all know who had rightful ownership to the land - the people who lived on it, hunted it, fished it, planted on it - for THOUSANDS of years, before Mr. White Man showed up.
Britain laid claim to the land simply because it made a declaration. The claim wasn't valid, but that didn't matter. Britain was in the business of taking what it wanted with the business end of a firearm, and so the colonists learned to do the same...
The natives didn't have a flag, you can't be a country if you have no flag. NO FLAG NO COUNTRY, sorry you can't have one!!
We all know who had rightful ownership to the land - the people who lived on it, hunted it, fished it, planted on it - for THOUSANDS of years, before Mr. White Man showed up.
I think the natives who lived back then would disagree with you. They didn't believe in the concept of owning land. They would tell you they didn't own it either.
Gneisenau - I know they had no concept of land ownership. But they learned about it fast - the White Men taught them. They thought that it was impossible to own land - so they traded it for beads and fancy English coats, thinking they got one over on the Englishmen. Until the Englishmen started fencing off and shooting at "trespassers". Then the Indians started to get it. They still held onto thier cultural concept that nobody owns the land - that they belong to the land - but thier new neighbors had a different way of thinking on it. The Native Americans really needed to figure that little game out much sooner than they did. Its a tragedy what happened. How this country became full of Europeans. It really is sad. But whats done is done. I would hope we can learn from our past injustices, but its that old monster again - the one I call human nature. We dont seem to get it. Even the Native Americans were killing each other. They may have belonged to the land, but they sure did do alot of killing of each other for the rights to hunt and fish that land! The concept of land ownership was lost on them, but they didnt have a great grasp of sharing the land either! H U M A N N A T U R E. I say it again. What a piece of work we are.
What should have been done was his capture. THEN waited till daylight. Invited the media from all over the world to come. Put him into a helicopter . Taken him up to the height the trade towers were, over a large paved area, AND PUSHED HIS BUTT OUT with a streamer attached saying "Don't Tread on Me".
The parents/grandparents of these loudmouths, in the Philippines, sure wasn't complaining when my father and the other soldiers drove out the invaders who were killing and raping them in WW2. How fast they forget.
Bill765...Those photos were NOT repeat NOT released by President Obama. I am certain he was as shocked by them as the rest of us. While it might be more convenient to lay all blame at this president's feet, at least get the facts straight. I believe those photos were released by a NY news journalist first. Newspapers don't need the President's permission to report the news. That's the Constitutional Right of Free Press.
StrengthInNumbers> As I remember the battle for our independence as a country was fought in battle fields. USA has been around more than 200 years. These people can not even govern themselves with out blood shed. No comparison to our founders to these people and I use the word people loosely. You should be a shamed of yourself. StrengthInNumbers if you are a American.
That ws the way of the world some time ago - colonialism, etc. remember the Franco-prussian wars of teh 19th century, etc.
How-ever, since the last world war, we have developed a set of international norms to which we, in general, hold humanity to. What these guys were doing did not conform to these norms.
If they were pissed off with their governments collaborating with us, why didn't they attack their governments - why acts of terror in the US, UK, Spain, etc. I acn understand rebellion, just not what they are doing.
According to the holy texts I've studied from both religions, the whole fight between Christianity and Islam started because of a Jerry Springer moment.
Abraham and Sarah initially couldn't have kids so Sarah told her husband to sleep with her bond-woman, Hagar (Hajar). Hagar had Ishmael (Isma'il). Not long after, Sarah got pregnant and had Isaac. Sarah grew suspicious and jealous and fought with Hagar, eventually resulting in the woman leaving with Ishmael.
It's from this division that the religious rift began. Seems a little silly to me that two "great nations" should still be fighting because of a root issue that would barely make daytime television these days.
I agree it is a shame that people kill people for whatever their reason. However, it is a shame to allow it to keep happening, which we did for decades when we didn't engage them in acts of war. During the 90s we were attacked repeatedly along with other nations and we didn't respond. We continued to forge trade and relationships with their respective governments. These extremists we are at war with are not in fact in alignment with their established governments.
You mention that we were in rebellion against the British government. These islamic extremists are in rebellion against their own established governments. As far as I'm concerned they are a group of citizens running around unchecked murdering people and not a military representing the will of any government or people, because they are not.
We got involved with the Afghan/Soviet war for a few reasons. During that time the US and the Soviets did whatever they could to undermine the other power. During that time it was initially just aid. We didn't go there until after Afghanistan killed the US ambassador in the region. We were not the only nation to go there. Saudi Arabia was an ally that we supported in that endeavor along with the British.
The UN at the time - over 100 nations voted against and expressed their disappointment in the Soviet's decision to invade Afghanistan. There were less than 20 nations that opposed that decision. By far the majority in the world at that time did not approve of Soviet aggression in Afghanistan. It was right for the time.
Our real failing was on both sides during the Geneva Accord of 1988 - none of the nations provided an ideal solution to what would happen in Afghanistan after we withdrew. The agreed upon tact was that the US and the Soviets would not interfer with foreign nations unless it was considered necessary for our interests. "our interests" is a vague term. Many things could be our interests.
Next, it was agreed upon that Egypt and Saudi Arabia would accept an Israeli nation without interference. That was the basis of the agreement and nothing much beyond that except in regards to Pakistan and Afghanistan. That was also an agreement on nonaggression and basically a vague statement on self preservation and interests. I read the accord. It's flawed in that it is vague. It also states the US would not back any nation and would not keep to that agreement if those nations were under a communists/dictatorship type of governing system.
The fact is the islamic extremists disagreement is actually with their own governments. They dislike America because we are allied with those governments - in particular Saudi Arabia and Egypt and Israel.
Considering their stance they figured by attacking us we'd leave the region and stop being allied with those mentioned governments above.
That is further from the truth of what happened. They should have known that by killing US citizens on our soil we would respond with force.
Everyone conveniently forgets that WE created Bin Laden. Al-Qaeda was a CIA term created for the mujihs in Afghanistan to fight the Russians because WE wanted pipeline access through their country. WE gave them the training and weapons and now wonder why WE get attacked. Hell, Bush even hosted these nuts in the White House two months before we got attacked.
And all the Obama haters out there: He has been very responsible. Releasing photos in the past has only stoked more hatred. He's not pro Muslim; he's just plain smart.
It's time for the adults to step up, get us out of two failed wars and get back to our own borders.
StrengthInNumbers - your posts are quite good, but not nearly as spot on as you'd like them to be. Cautiously Optimistic is more accurate about Bin Ladens reasons for waging war against the US - which explains why he did not attack the govts, but focused his attacks on us.
Though, you are right about human nature...our gut reaction is to kill what threatens us, and it doesnt matter in what way we are threatened.
Bin Ladens other stated mission was the financially and militarily destroy america...I cant say he's succeeded, but the fact that we are financially teetering on a complete meltdown...he either got lucky, or played a role.
It is impossible to believe that people associated with his cause are speculating on gas prices, driving us into ruin?
How about the $ we've spent on these wars, and what will we have to show for it? And more people are begging for more military action?
this merry-go-round isnt likely to stop until one, or both sides are decimated in some way.
Perhaps he has harmed our economy, but his other objectives have not been met. Our presence in the Middle East is much larger than before 9-11. We are unlikely to sever our ties with Israel, as we need an ally in the region we can be sure won't harbor Islamic extremists bent on our destruction. And financial conditions haven't improved much in Iraq. Can't blame starving Iraqi children on us - what happened to the cash in "Cash for Oil'? SADDAM starved the children.
It seems that the jubilation over the killing of Bin Laden has been largely confined to America. I’m seeing, as the rest of the world digests this event, the stirrings of condemnation for his killing replete with the usual threats of reprisal, demonstrations and flag burnings. I think traveling abroad probably has gotten more dangerous for Americans.
Finally, I think that Al Qaeda feels under some kind of pressure to retaliate in some manner, preferably something in America, but I suppose this was to be expected.
u keep mourning 3k people in wtc, what about millions u have killed including women and children. u will get the justice u seek for, definitely one day!
I know they had no concept of land ownership. But they learned about it fast - the White Men taught them. They thought that it was impossible to own land - so they traded it for beads and fancy English coats, thinking they got one over on the Englishmen. Until the Englishmen started fencing off and shooting at "trespassers".
Yes, the scammers got scammed. It still happens all the time today. Some things never change.
zardari, and are you threatening the USA? I don't think that is a good idea.
ewent: as far as your statement about BO did not release those prison photos, you are wrong!!! He should have prevented them from becoming available in the first place just like he is now doing with Bin Laden. Your twisted truths are so convenient, aren't they?
You are someone I would call a friend.. and I don't use that term lightly, I have very few friends cause of these types of reactions we are seeing here.
You believe and use the same logic and reasoning I do, in detail, and I have for about 30 years now. I've just gotten intolerant, annoyed, and disgusted with people after 30 years of trying to use the same logic and reasoning with them.. and I even see why people do this down to an antomical (brain) level.. and nothing has changed. In fact, in the last decade, or so, it has only gotten worse and I blame that on the education system and media.
The education system is creating dumber people and dumber people react more with emotion than logic. At this point in time, it is a losing battle cause most can't even think critically about what you are saying.. or anything, for that matter. We see the proof in the comments to this article and in the responses you have received.
I am trying to get back to my tolerant levels I started off with, some 30 years ago, cause I do understand why people react this way, and it is not necessarily their fault, even tho, in small part, they choose this.. because they don't know better and it is hard for them to understand that, even when someone points it out to them.. human nature, again.
Anyways, kudos to you for still having that tolerance. Try not to let time wear that down, cause it will, eventually, and we both know that countering these positions with annoyance or intolerance doesn't help. I am just so sad for humanity that they keep doing this to themselves and I know that if I was able to figure this out at 20yrs old, then anyone can. I am no genius, just the same as everyone else.
Yes, being emotional is what makes a being living. Be able to surpass personal emotion and think independently "through the enemy's eyes" is what separates us from the rest of the other species.
Everything happens for a reason.
That's exactly the point. Bin Laden and his ilk conspired to, and succeeded in brutally murdering 2,986 people here in the US. I won't even get into the murders he's responsible for directing in other places around the world. That sick f*** finally got exactly what he was asking for.
I take no pleasure out of it. There's nothing to celebrate imo. One evil murderous douche bag down. Thousands more evil murderers to go. I do feel a sense of relief that he can no longer orchestrate these atrocities.
As far as Osama affecting our economy - wishful thinking on his part. He caused a blip in the stock market for some months back in 2001-2002 because so many financial interests were in the WTC, and shocks of any kind cause temporary ups and downs in the stock market. But a blip is all it was. Our real, long-term economic crisis has been years in the making, and its deep rooted and complex. Osama was simplistic in thinking he could affect our economy in any meaningful way. Our economy was already headed where its going when he was a kid.
Someone said something about how "things are different today", that theres international protocol, etc. Wow. How misguided. Nothing ever changes, just the complexity of the interactions and the words we use. Human nature - same as it ever was. If anything - the powers that be have gotten more subtle in how they carry out dominance. But the motives stay the same. Getting the stuff, the land, the power. History repeats itself over and over. Not exactly of course, that would be science fiction. But the trends - over and over. Things arent newfangled and better today - theyre different. But the same... trends.
U.S. Government, your post is wrong on so many levels I don't feel like debating them all, but here's food for thought. One of the reasons Radical Islam is such a menace to civilization is because of the educated fools who follow it, not "cavemen wearing turbans". The Muslim Jihadist who attempted to blow up Heathrow Airport was a doctor, not some young, uneducated, hygenically challenged Arab cave man.
Look at the footage of the 9/11 murderers passing through security some time. These were professional looking young men, no way to determine they were murderous religious fanatics from their outward appearance!!!
Bottom line is nothing the U.S. ever did justified 9/11 and Osama paid the price for this unwarranted attack.
Now could be the time for dialogue and a chance to clear out of Iraq (where we never should have gone in the first place) and Afghanistan (where we should have gone, but with a clearly defined mission with an exit strategy), or it could begin another chapter in Radical Islam's Jihad on the West, which has been costing innocent lives in Muslim countries as well as the West for generations!!
Native Americans had more common sense than most European invaders. The British or the Patriots still don't own this Land its Gods country. And by that I mean you cannot own land it owns you. Think about it
Native Americans where their own Flag We did not need little perty signs saying who we were. Or bright red coats. So there goes the NO FLAG NO COUNTRY theory. Say that on the Reservation and see how far you get with it. Other Natives knew by our dress, manner of living, and the way we fought. They still do.
Face it I am pro American. And American is not WHITE period its a melting pot. America is not Christian in totality never has been. If you all wanted that you should have never entered treaties. Never given the freedom of religion.
The United States is a Nation of immigrants from all walks of life. A melting pot with people of every culture including Muslims. Who are also in our Armed forces on our side of all this. And have died defending those freedoms.
Osama Bin Laden was not a honorable Muslim. And yup I am proud we shot him dead. Yet StrengthInNumbers has a point we trained him to fight the Russians. He had wealth power and disliked our meddling in Middle eastern affairs.
I think if you want to fight over religion go to where it all started and end it there. America was not the birthplace of any of this. Our foreign policies are jacked up. We should protect our own. And let these others figure it out while we watch.
"But his death has angered Islamists, with one major hardline political party calling on Pakistan's government to end its support for the U.S. war on militancy." I think maybe they have it backwards..the USA should stop supporting Pakistan with ANY funds what so ever..same should go for any arab nation that places any kind of support for terrorist. Its time this country became independant of all others..it is rather dumb to sell our intel, patients or anything else to those that would do harm to this country. Which I believe includes most all of the arab nations.
Except that all this happened (if it did) at least 1,000 years prior to the birth of Jesus, and 1,5000 years before the birth of Muhammad, so what this really explains is the division between Judaism and the Arabs, nothing more. As a Jewish woman, many an Arab woman has told me "we are cousins" which fits the biblical account.
He showed no mercy to the people he killed so why did he deserve mercy, justice has been served, I do not like to see people die but that news that he was dead brought me peace and a happy smile , so if the muslims do not like murder , then stop the terriosts and taliban from all the killing they do instead of all the complaining, Osama got everything he deserved and asked for.
Awww, they didn't like it? EFF THEM. Blow them all off the planet. We didn't like it either when bin Laden killed not one, but THOUSANDS of our people.
How dare they protest us! Both of these countries take $millions in aid from the USA without any regrets or qualms! Let's withhold that money and put it to use here at home! Plenty of of our own countrymen have lost their homes beause of twisters and flooding, let's help them!
I agree...and they can simply spin on it all! We need to move forward and ignore what our detractors say or think. Hopefully, we can all go forward and live in peace.
Quite frankly, I'm relieved that OBL is gone and I will leave it there.
karen C...Take comfort in the fact that now there are 3,000 plus innocent souls all haunting bin Laden in the hereafter if one exists. You know that saying "Rest in Peace"...bin Laden will have no peace. That's the best comfort there can be. He died with the murders of innocent people on his conscience.
He may have tricked himself in life in believing what he did was "jihad" or "holy" war...but none of that matters now. He has all eternity to relive what he did over and over and over. Hell, after all, is repetition.
He *was* shown mercy. If the USA wanted to be unmerciful they would have kept him alive, paraded him around NYC in a cage where people could throw things at him then they would have taken him someplace very private where they'd torture him for a few decades with battery cables and Barney reruns.
Japan thought that they would strike a horrendous blow to us at Pearl Harbor and the Americans would have no will to fight and be out of the picture for their plans to take over S.E. Asia and the eastern Pacific. They too were wrong and only realized it after it was too late. Admiral Hirohito, who planned the Pearl Harbor attack said afterwards, "I am afraid we have awakened a sleeping bear." And he was right. The rallying cry for America was "Remember Pearl" as today the rallying cry is "Remember 9/11". It appears that from some accounts at least, Al Qeda may be beginning to think the same thing.
There are many similarities to then and now. The Japanese at that time had been brainwashed by their military leaders to believe that dying for the Emperor was a glorious death with many rewards in the afterlife. They were also brainwashed to believe that the U.S. was pure evil and would rape, pillage, kill, and maim any Japanese they came in contact with. They motivated their people with false fear just as the jihadists do today. Like today's jihadists, the Japanese at that time were not afraid of death. They were taught it was the ultimate glory to die for the Emperor. At first we in the U.S., including our military had a hard time understanding this lack of value for human life. But once we wrapped our head around that idea we helped as many of them as we could get their glory. As we took out their experienced pilots the less experienced were easier to defeat and once that ran out of trained pilots they began the Kamikaze attacks. The terrorists are in the Kamikaze attack phase now. The main flaw with their suicide attacks is that they can only do it once. If they step up their attacks they go through their operatives faster. Sooner or later the people will wise up and realize they cannot win just as the Japanese people did during WWII. Near the end the military leaders were still spouting victory propaganda to the people, but the people saw the changes and the shortages and began to see they were losing no matter what they were being told.
The only way to put a stop to this jihad is to ensure that any leadership position is a very short term opening. Then and only then will those that are the educated leaders leading the uneducated, brainwashed ones to early death realize that maybe being the leader isn't such a desirable position and that stepping up is signing your own death warrant. The leaders aren't in any hurry to get their 72 virgins, but are more than willing to help the uneducated masses get to theirs. Otherwise they'd be leading by example. The numbers of the protesters I got from this article were 1,500 and 60. I'm sure there are more, but even if it is ten times that, what percentage of those protesting would actually strap on a bomb ? Less than 50% I'd guess. Hardly the majority of Muslims.
Soldier's Dad: You forget that the Japanese successfully negotiated their terms and kept their power base in place. In fact, much of the war time officials stayed in place up until Nakasone in early 1980s. They paid no reparations and kept their country from long term invasion.
And what we did with them was the right thing. If you let people keep their dignity and their jobs, they will eventually move toward peace. Bush ignored that in Iraq and created an 8 year insurgency.
It's time we all grow up and realize that throwing American soldiers at the problem is not going to solve it...
As long as we’re going this far, we should have left his head on a pole in that compound and taken the body to be fed to pigs, then posted the video of this on the internet.
That would have driven the Islamic crazies to new levels of insanity.
Monkey@Keyboard - I disagree. The Japanese didn't surrender even after they were warned of impending doom. They didn't surrender after the first A bomb. They were warned we'd do it again and stiil didn't surrender. It was only after a third warning and the second A bomb that they agreed to an UNCONDITIONAL surrender within two weeks. They did not negotiate their surrender. Not sayin we should nuke them, but we have to stay strong. A position of strength is all any radical understands, otherwise they will see us as weak.
The point I was trying to make is that if you look at the numbers of these protesters they seem rather small as compared to the entire Muslim community. So it appears, at least that the huge Muslim outrage that was predicted hasn't materialized and that maybe, just maybe the Muslims are wising up and not so eager to rush to the virgins as maybe they once were. There was also a brief mention on Monday that a larger number of Muslims celebrated his death worldwide. So this gives hope that the majority of Muslims didn't like him either and that his supporter's numbers are shrinking. That's my wish but only time will tell.
As for the throwing of soldiers is concerned. My son just returned two weeks ago from a year in Afghanistan at a combat outpost and his biggest frustration as well as mine is that our leaders threw soldiers at them then tied their hands. I truly believe that we could have been over and done in A'stan years ago if our leaders would have let them go in and do the job they are trained to do. But then Karzai was and is a major roadblock. Every time we tried something that worked he had a problem with it. I believe he's just trying to drag this out to keep the U.S. money coming in.
I agree with you whole heartedly. War is a nasty business, but when soldiers are not entirely supported to do their jobs they are rendered less effective. Not every muslim is pro-taliban/al qaeda and the whole world isn't against the US.
Thank your child for their service. I am truly grateful that we have soldiers able and willing to defend America. I thank the families that have waited for the safe return of their loved ones.
I think many people judge things they don't fully understand. History is a good subject to pay meticulous attention to when things like this arise. It's a better teacher than we give credit for.
this person lived a life of COW-DUNG, as nicely as I'm able to post it. Martyr???? are these dot-heads serious??
'Dot-heads' is usually a slur directed at Hindu people. Not a lot of Hindu folks in Pakistan. In the future, you might avoid suspension by not slurring large groups of people at all. You're suspended for a day for violating #5 of the Code of Honor.
6 deleted, macanic calling OBL 'camel jockey #1'. Come on, now. You don't need racist slurs to impugn the most famous terrorist in recent memory. You're suspended for a day for violating #5 of the Code of Honor.
These radical clerics are real good at brainwashing, inciting, and provoking young men into suicidal bombings and then sit back and run their mouths off. I have worked with many muslims and in so many muslim countries and have heard all the warped ideology there is. Everything from conspiracys (that would put Michael Moores philosphy to shame) to this is the only way to get Americans attention. Well 9/11 got the average Americans attention! Before 9/11 the average American really didn't care one way or the other about Muslim extremists, but now the extremists have only galvanized Americans and I have never seen so much hatred. The extremists have only made Americans more aware of them and more vigiliant about their termination then ever before....Looks like Al Quedas strategy backfired. I'm sure there will be more threats and deaths in the future, but the numbers will surely not be even.
Eff them, bin laden was responsible for thousands of deaths, muslims included. Good riddance, I say, regardless of the circumstances. Good job to all, Seals, CIA, President Obama. Cheers!
when you look at the numbers, he and his organization killed far more muslims than Americans, and yet the islamists continue to call us the great satan? Amazing that the idea that true evil cannot breed within one's own faith is an alien concept to them.
Karen C...evil is as evil does. bin Laden had a personal agenda: control. Beware of all control freaks. They, more than any, have the ability to mesmerize the most impressionable among us. When they continually use religion as the excuse for their evil, what could be more heinous? That kind of evil is intended to go to the very core of each individual's soul.
Are there any scholars out there that are expert in Islam. I would like to know from a muslim view what happens to the "martyr" OBL? From the news of all his wives he obviously got his 72 virgins on this earth. So what does he get now?
I do not celebrate this individual's death, but I don't feel the least bit sorry for him either. I do feel he received much less than he deserved, what he asked for so often, from a hand of justice extended from those he slighted and slaughtered as often as he could. He and his like minded terrorists planned and plotted against many unarmed innocent members of the World's populace on 9/11. They went on to behead and slaughter many others since, some even their own people, innocent or not, because they believed differently.
Now we hear from the illiterates OBL left behind, about how brutal his death was … WHA-WHA! I would suggest they add things up, but teaching math is not part of the Koran, so they can't count. They ignore their own teachings of Sharia Law, about an eye for an eye. Then again, they don't consider anyone not of their religion to be deserving of life if they don't bow down to their version of religion. Their newest martyr slaughtered many over his years of life all in the name of his caveman times religion. He oppressed his followers, raped their children and did them little to no good.
While I don't like everything our current president does [the same is true of me from all our past presidents in my lifetime], I am glad he found the nerve to give the orders or accord to take this zealot out. I agree with an earlier poster who said it is a shame he released the news of this successful mission to increase his popularity in the poles. Those of Muslim and Islamic beliefs who remain silent in the face of those who claim to follow your religion, your silence equals agreement with them and it is not lost on the rest of the worlds population.
To USN Seal Team 6; I can only offer you my sincerest heartfelt congratulations on a job very well done. Thank you for putting your selves at extreme risk to lance this festering evil boil off the butt of humanity. To all our men and women in harms way, thank you for your service in the attempt to make things better for the populations you serve among. To our politicians, pull our people out, bring them home and let these backwards bound people deal with their own issues. Stop bankrupting the USA by sending an endless stream of money borrowed from China; to these corrupt Middle Eastern governments … they get enough from the rest of the world at the gas pumps. To the friends and families of those who lost people over the many past years, I hope with the death of this product of pig spit, you can find some solace, some peace.
Rick...You are welcome...You want to know what I would really hate to be my repetition in hell? Vacuuming rugs. rofl. I think about having to do that over and over until I'm like that guy in Clockwork Orange....driven mad by it. Everyone has one thing in their life they wouldn't want to do for an eternity. For some it might be a single moment they don't want to relive.
ewent - since we are talking about our particular hell then mine would be after picking up temporary work as a school janitor would be an eternity cleaning up bathrooms after all those school kids.
And regardless of politics, I think both sides can agree that we don't feel to awfully bad that this particular demon has left this earth.
That's not true. I read long posts too. I like reading. It allows me to learn a great deal about many subjects and is an excellent tool in any given argument. So while some may choose to ignore a message; it is their loss.
But wait, the Administration says it is not about Peaceful Muslims. OK!! Then why are they demonstrating? He was just a fanatic wasn't he? True colors are always true colors and A is always A. Just saying!!!
Then they are next. Karen did not need fox new to put that out. Were you out of town on 9-11 and miss the extent of his evilness or what USG. I think she managed to say in one short sentence what so many here have in paragraph after paragraph.
So the politicians masquerading as religious professionals have condemned the "brutal killing" of Old Slimy Ben Loudmouth. Boo hoo. Where were they when he was killing Muslims all over hte world? 82 Muslims died on 9/11. What were they? Collateral damage? Oops.
Here's a hot scoop for you. God is not a homicidal maniac. He does not delight in the death and misery of His children. God accepts willing servants. He does not take hostages. And God is not a politician. When you are already Lord of the universe, any earthly office would be a downward career move.
So excuse me if I don't get all excited about a political rally to protest the killing of a wolf who ravaged God's flock for so long.
The Loon...Rational know and accept that respect cannot remotely be accorded an evil man like bin Laden. You can only respect those deserving of it. In order to deserve it, it has to be earned.
There will always be a battle between good and evil, however religiously we choose to frame that. It's incumbent upon the high minded decent human beings to do what they can to force evil to be identified and to restrain it when we can.

Wow, you hit that nail on the head--I agree, the Bible says, "God is not willing that any should perish, but that we should all come to repentance". Unfortunately for him, I didn't see any signs of binLaden repenting of anything and he now has eternity to rue his decision to reject God's gift of abundant and eternal life through His Son....
Rn in Philly...It's our duty as decent, honest human beings to condemn that which we know to be evil. To stand by and allow it to continue would implicate us in that evil. Just my opinion.
Ewent, I especially love your comment that was posted at 11:28 today. How eloquent, I couldn't have said it better myself! To me, the right wing conservatives in this country are just as scary as the ones in Muslim dominated countries. Ironically, though Bin Laden was admittedly a very evil man, he was not stupid. I was shocked to read in the timeline of his life on MSN that he gave a speech that was televised on Arab TV admonishing the US and other industrialized countries for ignoring the threat of global warming and consequently promoting the desertification of his region and many other regions around the world i.e. our state of Texas. If the Republicans and their supporters do not recognize the increasingly dire threat of global warming to the whole planet, we are all going to die, or perhaps our children and grandchildren and it won't matter what religion we were, we will all just be dead like our planet!
Thank You...We are NOT at war with ISLAM...We are at war with extremists. OBL was an evil man with a cadre of evil minions. While I don't rejoice in the destruction of anyone, it is hard to be sorry for someone who nearly killed your husband. We are still not sure what the long term implications of this will be, but, I do know we, as a couple, endured a life changing, soul searing event caused by this bin laden...May God have mercy on all the victims of this violence and guide all people of good will and peace safely into the future...
These muslim whackjobs just don't get it. If you are a muslim, believe in blowing up a market place, maimiming innocent people, children included (women don't count with your kind of sick religion), with no thought other than to try and instill fear in the genral public.....if you just don't get it.....you are no better than OBL and he definetely got what he deserved. You should be next. Some people think there was one bullet too many wasted on OBL and the soilder should have to reimburse the tax payer for the cost of the bullet for not killing the dirtbag with one shot. You kill a pig with one bullet, why not him.....same difference. OBL is a martyr my ass........he is soaking up sea water, and hopefull they put 3000 sets of shoe souls in the bag that took the dirtbag to the bottom of the sea.
Actually they put a pigs head and a bunch of pigs feet in his bag to keep him company for eternity. The water where they dropped him is cold and deep enough to keep his body from rotting for a long, long time. Enjoy the company you pig @!$%#ing terrorist!
fyrboss...Near as I can figure, religions that promise a glorious and immortal utopia for the hereafter make it easier to give up on all life as it exists. In reality, all we can ever hope for is an eased conscience at the moment of death and a long and eternal rest.
laughingatGOP....And yet you miss why they are protesting? They have been duly and without reservation distinctly indoctrinated by muslim clerics to do so.
Killing all muslim clerics isn't the answer. Forcing these muslim clerics into the fresh light of day so that the world can see them for what they really are: instigators of violence is the answer.
The reality is that we want to demonize all Muslims when it's a handful of ancient clerics with a very clear personal agenda: control. Face facts. If they can control all of their own, why would they want it to stop there?
When we exposed Jim and Tammy Faye and Jim Jones, that exposure showed their true agenda: evil. This is what must happen with these Muslim clerics. We need to know who they are, what they preach and then expose their evil. Then, all we have to do is watch their followers leave their flock.
RN in Philly...All religions have some measure of excommunication in some form or other. I've read the Koran, the Kaballah, parts of Torah and of course the Bible. What was expressed in Biblical times has only a barest thread of relativity to how people live today. Intelligent people, let me clarify, that is.
We are talking about a culture that has yet to become part of the modern world. Therein lies the crux of the problem. It simply isn't possible to take an embedded cultural heritage and expect changes to occur immediately.
And, I hate to say this because it sounds like male bashing, but all of the most religious books were written or inspired to be written by men. That is an indictment of one half of the species whose evolutionary existences were dependent on control over the planet. Like cultural heritage, we may all think we've stepped into 2011 until we begin to observe certain quirky habits we have and start to question them.
Nothing at this juncture can be as important as knowing who these muslim clerics are and why they are preaching such hatred.
Rn in Philly...Your knowledge of history and religion is quite impressive and I certainly agree with your views. I admit the first time I saw a Muslim woman dressed head to toe in a black burqua in front of a US Post Office, I bristled wondering what she had under that black shroud. Then, I wondered what on earth would ever make her that submissive to any man or religion that she would walk around with only her eyes visible?
What I found amusing is that when she dies, she'll find there are no burquas where she's going whether it's up or down, no husband telling her what to do and no religion....rofl. Hmm...Maybe John Lennon said it best..."Imagine."
@ewent and RN: You both make a good point, God is the worst opressor that ever exsisted, not because it is the nature of God, but because it is the nature of men like these clerics. They are just the latest in the cycle of self-proclaimed "holy men" using religion to gain control over other people. This has been going on from the time of the Sanhedrin, to the Roman Emperors, to the Renaissance Popes.
The only good news to come out of this is that few of thier fellow muslims are no longer giving these radicals a willing ear. Calls for the reestablishment of the Caliphate have been replaced with calls for equality and Democracy. One way or another, the Jihadists are losing the war they started.
This is one area that I don't understand. Why do we tolerate some of this on our own soil. Freedom is not absolute. IF you are against our country then I think that some of these should be made to leave. IF you don't like living under the rules of our house then get the "F" out!
Cynic...How many Americans with a back room agenda are willing to reinterpret the intent of the Constitution to suit? When you read the words of the bill of rights, you know and understand its intent is equality for all Americans. How many generations of Americans deliberately and with malfeasance of intent misinterpreted that?
RN in Philly...You'd be quite surprised to learn that there is far more to the neocons out there trying to rewrite your voting rights than just to prevent illegals or immigrants from having a right to vote. The ramifications of these pieces of legislation are so broad as to trample many born and bred Americans voting rights. Water down voting rights and you have people with no voice.
Actually, you are quite correct about Sharia law. However, it isn't just Muslim religious laws attempting to supercede American law. Our Constitution guarantees freedom of religion. Here's where this gets sticky. There are several religions who have their own basic laws. Mind you, they are not actually "God's" laws as we would understand them but laws of men who created them for others to follow with blind acceptance. This is something certain religious leaders in the US would rather not be addressed.
Now, comes the problem. How do you not violate Freedom of Religion when each religion is replete with their own basic behavioral laws they consider part of their religion?
This is a very, very serious issue as you pointed out. One I hope our Supreme Court will ponder over long and hard before they make any judgments on it.
In my view? Civil laws must always supercede religious laws in order to protect the common good of ALL Americans. Anything less would create a vast standoff between Jewish Orthodox laws, Muslim Sharia laws, Catholic Laws and civil laws of our country which is the substantial uniting factor we are fortunate to have.
RN in Philly...Those new voting rights laws began in Arizona to prevent illegals and immigrants from voting. Then, as always, the idea began to spread among other red states. I know the blue states will never allow that to get to a federal level. It's too innocuous to children born in the US with immigrant parents like myself.
Explain to me what part of Illegal immigrant you don't understand. Is it the illegal part, or the immigrant part?. No one who is here illegally should be allowed anything but the back of a deportation vehicle, in shackles. And yes, it is the Liberals of this country and there mind set of over looking the illegal part and focusing on the human element. Sorry, but i abdicate the removal of all illegal immigrants as well as any green card holder who is convicted of a crime from our soil. I abdicate putting in prison any employer who employs illegal immigrants as well as any family members who shield then from the law. I abdicate for all these immigrants any any future immigrants, to go back to their country of origin and make that country as good as America. Stop coming here and bringing our society down and draining our resources. Stop bashing our country while at the same time attempting to scale our fences. Get out and stay out. Consider America like a rural Hotel, NO VACANCY. And for the Liberal pukes who disagree, stop trying to destroy Tradition in the name of evolution. Time ticking by has no bearing on what was put into law long ago. If it was good enough back then, it is good enough now. Damn it, I want to see a Nativity scene at Christmas in public. I want every Atheist or Jew or anyone else who has a problem with God in the pledge or on our money to STFU and go crawl back into your barren cave of immorality. Stop chopping our country down from the inside. Have some pride in your country for a change instead of Critically thinking us into some hideous beast who is out to steal the worlds goods. And F*&^ any radical muslim who has a problem with America trying to fix their backward ass way of thinking.
This is one area that I don't understand. Why do we tolerate some of this on our own soil. Freedom is not absolute. IF you are against our country then I think that some of these should be made to leave. IF you don't like living under the rules of our house then get the "F" out!
Seems like they are raising their hands to be placed on the list of those who need a late night knock on the door. Tap, Tap, game over. Every country that allows these protest to take place at US Embassys need to have their funding cut off. Save my tax dollars by forcing these people to go to work instead of protesting in the streets. If the protest in the USA, they need to be added to the terror watch list until completely vetted, which should take about 20 years. If they are here on an expired Visa, send them home permanently.
If you don't like Team USA, get the hell out of our stadium!
Bob338 - That ignorance should be a wake up call to every American. That ignorance is deliberately fabricated for a purpose: control. Control can only be seized and maintained through grave ignorance. Keep people stupid and isolated long enough and they'll do anything the "holy" man tells them to do up to and including blaming the rest of the world for their own submissiveness and ignorance.
And , yet, there are those among us who would willingly strip our educational system of funding. Who could that possibly be and what could possibly be their intent?
We should have fed Binny Boy to a pack of Pak dogs. (Is that desicration? Who gives a F!) It was good that we took out OBL the way we did but JDAMS might work better on these crowds of protesters. I realize that USA is guilty in many ways, but to idolize OBL is pure tribal stupidity.
OBL'S killing was brutal??? How about the thousands he had killed??? Not to mention the innocents on 9/11. I say good f riddance to that "holy man". And to those who would continue this crap OBL started....you're next!
Do you know what muslim in the philippines do for national past time? Bomb their own people. I am part filipino and I am ashame for the muslim. They bring in foreign money from Saudi Arabia to pay off the Philippine military so they do can do what they want. They have nothing to cry about.
RN in Philly...The problem is the US has not been able to clearly identify the real troublemakers and is reticent to do so. How exactly do you march into the mosques where these jihadis are being indoctrinated by ancient old men in white robes looking pure as the driven snow with hearts blacker than a raven's wing?
Therein lies the problem. As Americans we preach freedom of religion. So, we get what we have now...an unwillingness to cleanse the mosques of the troublemakers preaching hate and violence to people they know they control with that single word "holy".
RN in Philly, The United States let fascism in before Germany. In fact most of the things that the Nazis were declared criminal for was already going on in the States starting with Theodore Roosevelt in office.
All the Nazi War Criminals were given light sentences by the U.S. War Tribunals because of the information the German Nazis could reveal in all the Aid the United States was giving Nazi Germany before and during the war.
Herbert Hoover and Field Marshall Goering conspired and almost succeeded in removing Franklin Roosevelt from office during the war.
Facism didn't go away in the United States when WWII was over, it was just absorbed into the Republican Party.
Bob, I think maybe you should go visit the Congressional Library and look at the information that has been declassified in 1998.
So go do that and then we'll talk about it.
By the way, we had over 300 companies tied up in cartels set up by IG Farben, Hitler's top financial advisor. Some of these companies had to be seized by our government in order to get them producing for our own war movement. It is the cause of our not invading Normandy until 1944.
Just to name a few:
Standard Oil - and none of their assets were seized.
Dupont
Remington
Bayer
Singer
Ford
GM
GE
In fact, Singer, Ford and GM had American operated and owned plants in Germany during the War and utilized concentration camp inmates for slave labor. These plants continued to report to the Corporate office in the U.S.
When the war broke out most of these companies dealings were masked by Wall Street and goods were routed through Argentina and Spain to Germany.
Come on America,no more aid money for the double dealing Pakies. Cut off the money they hate us. When will we start takeing care of our own and let the rest of the world do the same. Billions spent on countrys that want to burn our flag and spit on us? Wise up before we go from super power to dismal third world.
Waxx...it all depends on what "prosperity" means. For some, it means only wads and wads of money. For others, it means a healthy life with a healthy family and lots and lots of happy times spent together that make a lifetime of wonderful memories to take to the grave.
Listening to the news last night and then reading the paper today, have these people lost their minds, the US sends BILLIONS of dollars in aid to them, pull the money and take care of our own people in our country, screw them, also because it was called operation Geronimo, apparently that offened people as well, what a bunch of bull, get a life,, I for one am sick of all the political correctness, get over yourselves!!!!
Beleive it or not it is an American Indian tirbal leader who is offended by the name operation Geranimo. I would be proud if the operation was named after me. The Seals can always change their minds if they want to. I would be proud to have Osamas death mission named after me.
I would think that since they came out of helicopters that it is typical when you jump from above that you yell "Geronimo" I just thought that was why they called it that. This American Indian leader is offended because the names Geronimo and Bin Laden were used together. Geronimo being a famous Indian and Bin Laden a famous scum bag. You are right though. Political and gramatical corectness needs to go.
I sit here shakin my head as i read posts today! First people believe al queida leaders statments about the death of OBL instead of our own leader! Second because i made statemtnes recently sayin this was not over yet it would get worse before better and we needed to stay and finish things! Thrid because the day we learned of his death i made a post about aid being given to Pakistan and why they are recieving it when the loyalty is in question! I read alot of statements over the last few stories it amazes me how some protesters and terrorist releasing statments changes peoples opinions here in the USA! We need to continue to support our troops and our POTUS! No questions asked we need to come together and stop being so devided on everything! For those of you who have been screaming i have the right to see the photos or video i wont believe it til i see it who have now become so quiet since the terrorist leaders released the confirmation you should be ashamed of your selves for believing a terrorist and not our own leaders! Now i know our country is far from perfect that is because we are all human! But to belive somthing from a terrorists statment and not your own President that is just down right shameful!
I just want to see his dead body. I would like to make a poster out of it and hang it on my wall. Or use it for my original idea. Terrorist tissue. You get regular white toilet paper and have the faces and names of all the known terrorists printed on it in color. Then you wipe your ass with their faces. I certainly beleived he was dead. But in hind sight Bush did say prematurely that the war in Iraq was over. When it really hadnt even begun. If you remember Saddam Husseins sons dead bodies were photoed and released to the Iraqi people because they were too afraid it might be a lie. Saddams hanging was televised so the Iraqi people would know for sure that it was him and that he was dead. Fear can do that to people.
Im just throwing out ideas to consider why people need proof. I agree that we need to re-unite as a country here. We are too divided and too opressed. I dont beleive we are the land of the free anymore. And I would like to see us be the land of the free. Mostly meaning we have way too many damn rules and laws in this country.
Screw all you radical pieces of crap. This man is no warrior. Nothing more then a cold blooded killer who deserved to die like the dog he is
He has been killing not only Americans but Muslims around the world. You want us out of your country. Well, keep your radical Muslim Ass in your own country and stop the killing, otherwise we are coming to do to you what we did to Osama. We will put you down and bury your ass at sea to. Hopefully they put a little pork blood on him before we sent him into the sea.
They need to go back to their caves, tie up their wives and have sex with teenage girls... (I wish not for the latter) - they're f'ked in the head.... the women are the key to peace in the middle east. They talk about US oppression or suppression WTF.. I agree with Bruce 917111 -they're just f'n stupid
"Jihad" will not stop with the killing of bin Laden. Gotcha. You intend to keep on killing us ... even innocent women and children ... that's why we intend to keep on killing those who wage jihad. You can "protest" all you want, old man.
Screw em!
I totally agree, F these people.
G
Yeah its sad your boy Wya couldnt get the JO B done eh?
They forget who threw the first punch. I am really not a "blood and gore" person. I don't even own a gun or want one in my home but if possible, I wish we could resuscitate him, fix him up and then shoot him over the eye again for each of the 3000+ plus innocent people he murdered.
OBL is no "holy warrior" he is a murderer. If they feel so strongly about America then they should start a revolution to get their corrupt government to STOP TAKING OUR MONEY!!!.
These people declared war and should be taken out.
In their own words, "death to Americans","the Jihad will continue".
Yet we keep giving foriegn aid to these places that harbor terrorist
abwil
We're not gunna protest! We're not gunna protest! We're not gunna protest!
your wrong RI Mom...there may be a few idiots out there saying stupid shyte , but not the large numbers you are infering...they are pretty much the same sort as your libbie idiots that think Bush flew those planes into the trade center towers by remote control...spare us your liberal diatribe and talking points...it's already tired and played...oh and by the way..it was "authorized" while Obama was still a "community orginizer" , when he represented the southside of Chicago, you know, the place that was a shyte hole when he represented it and is still a shyte hole, he didn't "orginize" that community except to hate white people
I don't believe for a moment that Not releasing the pictures will save anyone. I just have no interest in seeing them. There's simply no reason for it.
I remember the videos and pics Al Qaeda put online of the reporters and such they beheaded. We don't need to reduce ourselves to that crap.
Osama is dead. Lets move on
PCU reference. Love it!!
When I first saw that picture, I thought the SEIU was back in Wisconsin.
Ignorance abounds. War on the US? Srsly? Bring it.
Everytime a Non-Muslim is killed at the hands of a Muslim, All Non-Muslims should gather and march in the nearby mosque, and burn it down!!
Also, everytime the Pakis burn an American flag, we should post a cartoon picture of Mohammad on the front page of the NY Times.
Hey Pot meet kettle!
Farook you Islamic jihadist creeps! Osama is making it right now with 72 virgins and you're not. We did him a big favor, so where's your beef anyways?
Your are so full of yourself The Judge 2!!! Perhaps you are speaking for yourself!!!
There is a Commandment that says "Thou shall not kill !!" No religion has a right to kill in the name of God!
Your ideology is holding this country back and there are many Americans who are fed up hearing it.
good post !!!!!
Only ObL is allowed to kill in a brutal fashion, NOT! Live by the sword, die by the sword.
And the reason for not releasing the photos was so we didn't inflame the extremist - silly us...
ewent - Great Post.
"If God be with us, who can be against us"
John Doe...That wasn't the reason.
I'm not sure about that? Do you speak for the rest of the world?
maybe the seal team should go back for some clerics
What is with these protesters. You know there is never an IED around when you need one
"described the al-Qaida founder's burial at sea as a desecration of his body." Are these people really muslims? Our govt told us that by burying him at sea we are respecting Islam? Who is lying?
Time to play Cowboys and Muslims - should address the problem pretty quickly
I am so glad Obama told that little old man in Florida not to burn the KORAN ''"Stop genocide in Libya! Let Muslims rule their own land. US allies: Stay out of Muslim lands." Huh they didn't mention that? But I think they are angry about OBAMA BOMBING LIBYA pakistan afghanistan and Iraq.
ya...what Ewent said...because we all know that liberals don't have ANY ideologies...post some more stupid shyte
Willy...they sound more like the liberal ilk , you know , the "I do as I please because there are no rules" crowd
Let's not turn this into a left / right debate...
I think we can all agree they are the scum of the Earth and every last one of them deserve to die.
Will they ever learn a lesson? So screw them well with pork meat!
These lunatics can't repaired anywhere!
Over Taxed Again - So I guess anyone who disagrees with your ideology is a liberal? Typical right wing hypocrite.
Maybe one day we can go back to Land Owning White Men ruling the world!
ILK!
Be Safe
This is a time for America to breathe a sigh of relief, of hope.
This is a time for those who lost loved ones to hopefully feel some sense of closure, if possible.
This is a time to thank our soldiers.
This is not a time for hate. Our battle is not with Islam.
This is not a time for bigotry, or using terms like ragheads or savages.
This is a time for cool and measured thinking.
This is a time to contemplate peace, and the process we shall use to achieve it.
Am I the ONLY one who takes notice that, by radicals threatening us if we:
1.) Sketch/copy/draw/print a "picture" of Muhammad
2.) Burn Koran/Korans
3.) Kill a man who declared war on us by killing 3,000 of our citizens on their own soil.
That we are abrogating our:
1.) Freedom of Speech
2.) Freedom of Expression
3.) Freedom of Religion ( to those so inclined as to repudiate another's religion. Ignorant, but guaranteed. ) ???
Little by little we are losing our Bill of Rights on our OWN soil. And other than 9/11, not a shot has been fired.
They warp their religion into something "UNHOLY"
ewent - so it's OK for YOU to go on rants against conservatives, but conservatives should get over it, or get help?
You're the one who needs help - and a good start would be to open your eyes to your own hypocrisy.
"I consider right winger neoconservatives American terrorists"
And I feel the exact same way about liberals. So what makes you better?
Stupid friggin Muj. Let's just keep throwing money at their countries . . .NOT!
Lucy...Your extremism is showing. How is that not as bad as the rest of the extremists you are bashing?
Gneisenau,
re post 1.39
Just imagine a donut with cherry frosting dripping off the back. That's what it looks like.
ewent - and I don't have a problem with "old-school" democrats.
Hmmm?
Actually, I should say Will 3050062 more than ewent.
Thank you though for admitting extremism yourself. You said so in your comment back to me. Here, I'll share it with you. You said it, I didn't.
grilledcheese...Except that you accuse Democrats of being sore losers when they are always the clean up crew for your Republicans.
Don't and see if we the nearly extinct Middle Class help you remember where you all came from.
grilledcheesesandwich,
You actually converse with ewent? I gave it up a long time ago. It gave me a headache and solved nothing. He/she lives in his/her own little reality that resembles the real world not in the least. He/she is a knee jerk contrarian and will argue the opposite of any comment made by a Conservative. Reminds me a lot of Michael Moore.
Guess the USA is pretty good at this as well, wouldn't ya say?? Or is that too extreme????
Over taxed again -
You are a racist.
Violence creates violence. Hate creates hate.
Where do get off Lucy. The Pledge of Allegiance mentions God not Jesus. The short length National Anthem everyone knows does not even mention God.
The term God is near Universal to ALL religions, and is not specific to just Christians.
There are crazy people in all religions. Some more than others though.
JC: Jesus never advocated killing under any circumstances. Maybe a little Jesus is what we need.
Jessica-1170252: Thank God, a voice of reason. May you multiply quickly.
Big Al "I say @!$%# You and We are going to kill all you crazy sick religious zealots one by one your sick twisted days are numbered 8)"
im pretty sure this is what THEY are saying right now too...
"it's pukes like this guy that make the world we live in dangerous for all humans."
I just find it ironic that they believe the same thing about us.
Vote Obama 2012.
That being said, they may want to keep in mind that 'jihad works both ways'!
Proud2to liberal, you aren't liberal, your Communist. Or do the two think alike?
That line of thinking scares me, should scare all Americans. And it's gotten to the point there's enough idiots out there that think like this to make it happen.
Maybe it's time to drop a huge bomb on these jerks.
Ewent continues to dazzle:
"I consider right winger neoconservatives American terrorists because their backward ideology is the most destructive to the unity this country so depends upon"
You can always count on ewent to turn a story about the radical Muslim street into her ongoing incoherent fantasys about the really super-duper terrifying "neoconservatives American terrorists" in our midst. I'd love to put her in a room full of our "American terrorist" founding fathers. They would wonder (like I do) what planet she was from.
But NOT the terror he promoted and perpetrated all around the world, RIGHT?!?!
What self-serving, ignorant, hypocrites.
How sad for humanity. Most of you people sound just as bad as them, if not worse. You people disgust me!
And I don't give a rat's a$$ if you collapse me. All of you people, both sides, are disgusting human beings. PERIOD!
Proud to be liberal,
That has got to be one of the scariest posts I have ever read.
Ken, Take your meds dude!!
Ken, I was okay until you brought up the rat's derriere. That worries me a little...;-)
"Slam brutal killing" ??? Upset by the manner in which we took out OBL???
This is MADNESS.
Where were these dogs when some 3000 'unarmed' citizens were brutally killed on September 11, 2001?
Utterly amazing.
Tod-2791955 -
You are illustrating the problem with the current political dialogue.
Hate is hate, it's wrong, it divides, and it kills.
asuras,
And you suffer from a nutritional deficiency of iodine from birth.
US.Government
I heard it was somewhere on the order of 2.2 billion unarmed citizens killed in the gulf war. But hey you got to break a few eggs if you want to make an omelette. :) Is that you Michael Moore?
Jessica -
We did have a policy of doing nothing and we were attacked with increasing violence. We must either neutralize or stop them with whatever means we can up to force, because sitting aside didn't work and doing nothing is condoning their hate and policy of violence towards other nations.
Todd
Those are the guys you want dead. ;)
Over Taxed Again banned, multiple of OverTaxedAgain, also banned. Don't register multiple accounts, folks.
Just my opinion.
I'm glad they shot him down like the dog he was. To hell with OBL & all the others like him.
Cjsks,
I would say the problem is we don't do enough generalizing.
Not to mention made money with Haliburton on it all.
proud,
Not at all surprised you are an educator, You can not become one without a thorough "liberal" arts education.
You get what you pay for, one of the best flag makers is in Alabama.
Not a good idea. You don't want to find out what happens when a nuclear power over-run with terrorists becomes a failed state.
They are angry?@!$%# them.Where they were when that SOB killed 3000 + innocent people ?now they want to tell us how to do our things?@!$%# THEM ALL.
seriously! they're lucky we're not as crazy and delusional as them cuz we wouldve spanked them off the face of the earth. im glad that SOB's last memory on earth was an American being justice.
And its not our freedoms and liberty they hate.
Smoking too much weed. Cottonmouth setting in.
Osama - Obama, man I'm so confused.
G
"our land" No it was actually British land. This was a British colony and we revolted.
The natives didn't have a flag, you can't be a country if you have no flag. NO FLAG NO COUNTRY, sorry you can't have one!!
Those are the rules that I just made up.
-Eddie Izzard
I think the natives who lived back then would disagree with you. They didn't believe in the concept of owning land. They would tell you they didn't own it either.
You are counting only those, who are dead in 9/11.
What about those in other places of the world, who had see different types of 9/11?
Declare Pakistan a terrorist nation and stop all aids to Pakistan.
Also start kicking out all Paki illegals and then those indulging in criminal, freeloading or Islamic radical activities.
And the killing of over 3000 civilians wasn't brutal????
Todd, I can't like this ENOUGH!
VERY well put.
Also, I hate how Obama even gave these nutty extremists consideration when opting to release that p.o.s. osamas pictures.
I would have created a website for them for all to see.
His reason for why they couldn't be released? Oh, because we would get mad if they happened to take pictures and video of them killing our guys???
Obama, I suggest you do a google search. They plaster the 'net with all that stuff. Sick bastards.
Obama is the same guy who authorized release of Abu Grahib prison photos! He is more pro-Muslim than he is pro America.
That's the Constitutional Right of Free Press.
strength in numbers: Long posts are like cursing, no one hears the message.
Bill, you're an idiot. The Abu Grahib prison affair occurred during the Bush administration, and were released years before Obama became president.
Repeating lies may make other idiots believe you, which seems to be a conservative method. But, a 2 second google search will expose you.
wildinaustin...so are short, all too convenient Texan memories.

They are very much misguided in that.
Howdy, you ask, what was the reason Bin Laden attacked USA in the first place?
Actually, he was quite explicit. It had nothing to do with American values. He had issues with our policy:
Here was his answer:
1. USA troops in Saudi Arabia, he wanted us out of there
2. USA blind support for Israel, never seeing or acknowledging opinions or rights of Palestinians
3. Embargoes in Iraq that starved millions of innocent children
Stop the hate. Do the right thing.
StrengthInNumbers,
You are someone I would call a friend.. and I don't use that term lightly, I have very few friends cause of these types of reactions we are seeing here.
Marcello,
That's exactly the point.
He's not pro Muslim
Of course not. Unless you count his referring to Muslim morning prayer music as the most beautiful sound in the world.
Â
I think he got far less than he deserved, but I'll take what I can get!
Personally I called for a far more brutal public display, ending in his public hanging.
These two faced pakistanis, are lucky we stopped where we did.
Stop all aide, remove our military . then back their arch enemy ...INDIA
F Pakistan !!!!!!!
G
right on!!!
So, I guess the assassination will not stop with OBL.
The Americans need to recall thir own history of violent against human beings dead is dead and no one is going to excape that.
What about Osama's followers being bred and exported from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia?
They should all be punished without any mercy such that world won't see these mad religious killing anymore!
All infidels should unite.
What do the Muslims in the Philippines have to do with Osama?
If Muslims all over the world can unite behind Osama, why not all of us unite to save ourselves from these Islamic religious Nazi beasts?
Your son and my brother included.
Critical thinker 3.2
As long as we’re going this far, we should have left his head on a pole in that compound and taken the body to be fed to pigs, then posted the video of this on the internet.
That would have driven the Islamic crazies to new levels of insanity.
How's this for carrying absurdity to a new level?
Soldiers dad
I agree with you whole heartedly. War is a nasty business, but when soldiers are not entirely supported to do their jobs they are rendered less effective. Not every muslim is pro-taliban/al qaeda and the whole world isn't against the US.
Thank your child for their service. I am truly grateful that we have soldiers able and willing to defend America. I thank the families that have waited for the safe return of their loved ones.
I think many people judge things they don't fully understand. History is a good subject to pay meticulous attention to when things like this arise. It's a better teacher than we give credit for.
5 deleted, tekj2000 calling someone 'dot-heads' - protesters, apparently:
Cheers!
Salute!
when you look at the numbers, he and his organization killed far more muslims than Americans, and yet the islamists continue to call us the great satan? Amazing that the idea that true evil cannot breed within one's own faith is an alien concept to them.
Bin Laden was a very evil man.
Rick312...A repetitious confrontation with his conscience.
Thanks ewent and RN. I like both your answers.
IMPGA: Long posts are like cursing, no one hears the message.l
ewent - since we are talking about our particular hell then mine would be after picking up temporary work as a school janitor would be an eternity cleaning up bathrooms after all those school kids.
And regardless of politics, I think both sides can agree that we don't feel to awfully bad that this particular demon has left this earth.
Rick...See? We all have things in our lives we can do for a short period of time. After that? It's hell.
wildinaustin.
Just saying!!!
there are much worse people out there
Then they are next.
Rn in Philly...It's our duty as decent, honest human beings to condemn that which we know to be evil. To stand by and allow it to continue would implicate us in that evil. Just my opinion.
RN in Philly..I don't know about you but I find using religion as the scapegoat for a personal agenda that includes violence is the far greater evil.
To all jihadist moslems:
Come one, come all
This rock shall fly
To smash your face
And pulp your eye.
(With apologies to Sir Walter Scott)
Thank You...We are NOT at war with ISLAM...We are at war with extremists. OBL was an evil man with a cadre of evil minions. While I don't rejoice in the destruction of anyone, it is hard to be sorry for someone who nearly killed your husband. We are still not sure what the long term implications of this will be, but, I do know we, as a couple, endured a life changing, soul searing event caused by this bin laden...May God have mercy on all the victims of this violence and guide all people of good will and peace safely into the future...
They have 1 martyr we have 2,752. I hope this threat brings together the right and left and we unite to overcome these terrorist *ssholes.
Clint1245
Ahh.. you have totally forgotten millions there in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan whom you have killed in the name of peace.
Seems a lot more peaceful in America, now that there gone.
Screw them all!!!
I think a double tap to the head was WAY TOO good for OBL. If these ignornat people want to fight....
Bring it !
G
they just want to be with the fairy servants in the after life. man they're delusional lmfao.
If the Muslim's god says supporting brutality, hate and the murder of innocents is good, then their heaven will be a very unpleasant place indeed.
fyrboss...Near as I can figure, religions that promise a glorious and immortal utopia for the hereafter make it easier to give up on all life as it exists. In reality, all we can ever hope for is an eased conscience at the moment of death and a long and eternal rest.
No sympathy here for the protesters. **** them.
laughingatGOP....And yet you miss why they are protesting?
RN: Does this include Obama since he said he was raised as a muslin?
It's called the Bill of Rights of the Constitution of the United States of America. Love it or leave it.
Talk abuot ignorant people. Kind of scary!!
Bob338 - That ignorance should be a wake up call to every American. That ignorance is deliberately fabricated for a purpose: control. Control can only be seized and maintained through grave ignorance. Keep people stupid and isolated long enough and they'll do anything the "holy" man tells them to do up to and including blaming the rest of the world for their own submissiveness and ignorance.
ewent: AMEN Ignorance is not bliss, it's damn expensive! Ask anyone is middle America.
Who the hell cares what a bunch of ignorant unedcuated radical muslim lemmings think about the Osama killing!!!
Do you know what muslim in the philippines do for national past time? Bomb their own people. I am part filipino and I am ashame for the muslim. They bring in foreign money from Saudi Arabia to pay off the Philippine military so they do can do what they want. They have nothing to cry about.
Same old, same old.
I don't know where you get your information, but you're so wrong it isn't worth talking about.
Well said Jim B. My sentiments exactly.
I say...Kill EM!
Life's a bitch, then you die.
Yes, and be thankful you did not marry one .... LOL :-)
yeah but you can die prosperous, respected, loved or disgraced...its your choice....
Waxx...it all depends on what "prosperity" means. For some, it means only wads and wads of money. For others, it means a healthy life with a healthy family and lots and lots of happy times spent together that make a lifetime of wonderful memories to take to the grave.
ewent thats true as well but Prospering can be Business, Money, Self, health, spirituality..theirs many ways to prosper..
Funny how they call it a "holy war".
I also wonder what would stop it, what would be sufficient for them? I imagine nothing would as they are filled with hate.
Sharia Law in America is their goal!!!
they want world domination. they're "ethical/moral" ways of thinking are still of the stone age.
We still have some bullets left, don't we?
We still have what about 1800 Nukes maybe we should send them a couple .....
I do not need to see his body. I believe he is dead.
I could have gone along with your statement if you'd left the 'have sex with teenage girls' out.
"Jihad" will not stop with the killing of bin Laden. Gotcha. You intend to keep on killing us ... even innocent women and children ... that's why we intend to keep on killing those who wage jihad. You can "protest" all you want, old man.
