There seems to be a trend as of late. Ordinary citizens are scared to death of the Police. Willing to risk their very lives to avoid a confrontation.
Times were when I myself was a Police Officer there was a degree of respect towards Law Enforcement.
In these times because of arrogant behavior by many Police Agencies the respect is gone, vanished and replaced by fear of the very people that are supposed to "Serve and Protect".
Any wonder why there has been a dramatic rise in Police Shootings over the last several years?

The police still do "Serve and Protect". They serve warrants and protect each other. Haven't you noticed that any time a policeman gets in a bind, the other police drop EVERYTHING and go to his aid? But when Joe Citizen calls for help, the response is "we'll get there as soon as we can". How many cold cases are there for police-victims versus citizen victims?
Maybe it might just have something to do with the number of officers who are shot at every day and end up wounded or killed by these maggots. It use to be that these thugs realized that it was senseless to fight law enforcement officers, now, it appears to be a badge of honor for a thug to shoot a law enforcement officer and kill him/her.
I wish I could say that the police are respectable people who are here to help us but my experience has been very different. A few years back my son took an overdose of mushrooms that caused him to go basically insane. I ended up having to tackle him in the front yard and subdue him while I had the neighbor call an ambulence. The police showed up with the ambulence. I was holding my son down, BTW he was an adult at the time and about 5'4" and 145 lbs, you know not a large man, I was trying to give him over to the police and one of them just went off on my son beating him yelling "stop resisting" and "where did you buy the drugs" while the 3 other police stood there looking sheepish and almost apologetic. When they finally got him on the gurney the cop that beat my son, BTW the cop was like 5'1" skinny little prick with a buzz haircut and an obvious short man's complex got up in my face and started yelling in a taunting kind of way that if I had been a better parent this would not have happened. The ONLY thing that saved that little prick from getting the asskicking of a lifetime was the badge. I didn't know if my son would ever regain his sanity again I had thought I had lost my boy forever and I have this piece of excrament beating my son and talking smack to me and none of the other officers stepped in. from that moment forward my atitude toward the police has changed. I hate them period.
perhaps your son shouldn't have done the shrooms....... law breakers and family of lawbreakers do tend to hate the police... funny huh?
OR, he has a record...in his own mind. He knows what he has done. No doubt one or more of his actions have gone undiscovered, and he has believed that they uncovered the truth & were ready to pick him up. I imagine that these police officers were smart enough to stick him in a room until he began telling all sorts of stories.
People make mistakes and young adults especially make dumb mistakes. To label me and my family criminals and take the position that that cop was doing the right thing is just totally retarded. Of course he shouldn't have done the shrooms, you know what arguing with people like you is impossible. If you can not see what the police did wrong in this situation then you are beyond reasoning with. Self-righteousness is such an ugly trait. God forbid you or your family ever makes a similar mistake. Good luck with that one.

Nowadays any encounter with the police ends up with the "citizen" being tazered, pepper sprayed, shot or beaten. only the stupid don't run from the cops. you don't have to be guilty of anything to be beaten to death or tazered to death by the police. and when they do, it's always justified by "the authorities" In the old days cops didn't think they were gods walking the Earth, they do now.

This guy was in his early 20's. What happened to parents who should be teaching their children to respect the police, teachers, pastors, government officials? Good citizenship, good manners, civil and civic responsibility? Even if they all turn out to be corrupt bastards, respect for the office should start somewhere.
I think the police officers deal with "suspicious characters" so much that they learn to be suspicious of everyone. Years ago, if I talked to a cop, say, to report a theft or as happened once, to report an alligator in my yard, I could chat with the officer and everyone was smiling. Recently, I had to report my car was broken into and the officer who responded seemed very cautious, even suspicious of me - perhaps thinking I was making a false report? Who knows, but the friendly demeanor was gone. Have things changed that much?

Considering the US population out mans them 100,000 to 1, the Police can no longer Serve & Protect, they are there to just string yellow tape, direct taffic, do chaulk outlines / clean up / do paperwork on what happened BEFORE they showed up. It has become each citizens own responsibility to protect themselves by whatever means they are comfortable with.
I prefer Peace through superior fire power....but thats just me. Then call the Police so they can document what happened prior to their arrival. There is only going to be one story.......mine.
the thing is police treat everyone as suspects nowadays. so to say that he has something he did to worry about is way off base. oh and cops do an instant back round check on every name they get. i also run from cops. i have no criminal back round. i just hate cops. they are in it for the money and nothing else. and the way they do that is to make arrests. more arrests faster promotions = more money. to protect and serve their money making and that is all.
background... not back round. The average police officer salary is $56,000... with half making less than that... not exactly a "money making" job considering they put their life on the line every day.

Obviously too Special to work on a farm, flipping burgers, get dirty, you know, manual labor. If everyone's kids weren't so special they would be working, not getting in trouble. Hey, guess what? If all the special people were working they would be too tired to get in trouble, and illegal immigrants wouldn't be here doing what we should be doing ourselves. ive been working since the age of 14. but thanks for worrying. sorry about the back round check thing i could not remember which was which. oh and some money is better than no money. there really is not a lot of jobs out there.
and i never got one thing from the government. when i did not have money for food i did not eat that day. i think a lot more people should try it. may give them a little motivation.
i have seen enough of how cops do there job to know i have something to worry about. i have never broken the law. but i know plenty of people who have and have not and they are treated the same.
This ORDINARY citizen THOUGHT there was a warrant out on him THAT means he KNEW he had done something wrong. I would think that and ORDINARY citizen would wait around to find out what they were being stopped for. I would, but then again, maybe I'm EXTRA-ORDINARY!
Too many cops are lazy and go for the easy busts, like someone smoking grass, instead of doing diligent police work and bust a meth or cocaine gang. (See pot smokers don't shoot). The old police saying is "To protect and to serve". The new one seems to be "To harass and arrest". All I know is every time a cop pulls into my rearview mirror my heart jumps. Not that I've done anything wrong but I truely dislike police due to too much arrogance. They definitely make me nervous. They have guns and I don't!
