Ha! The world can always use another "coming to an end".
Article is pretty irresponsible creating the impression that "scrapping the treaty" is the same thing as open hostilities / war.
Past articles have hinted that Egyptians support opening their borders more with Gaza. Egypt largely allowed the border to be pretty pourous for a long time but then found that Hamas was gaining a lot of power at the grass roots level inside Egypt, so they clamped down. Now that the grass roots is demanding changes, I'm sure there will be a loosening of the border again.
ultimately if this results in renewed hostilities between Egypt and Israel is not a sure thing.
WOW, talk about a unraveling of the middle east peace process; it now does appear the revolt is based on radical Muslim beliefs; we really stepped into it this time !
The dust has not settled in Egypt. Emotions are still running high,so you can expect some coming out of feelings that have been repressed for years, even if they are not pro west. One should not expect an outpouring of love for those that have worked with Mubarak
The chosen leaders of Egypt willl understand that it is better to go with the flow of the world today, and not isolate itself from the west. This would be a dire mistake. Using these polls to get a bead on the course Egypt will take is sketchy at best.ie
Popular opinion in a country does not always become reality or law,as we in this country have learned over the past few years. At least a year should go by before we see what paths they will truly take.
Let us hope their choices will lead to commerce and peace, not isolation over religous differences.
Egyptian protesters, peace loving seekers of democracy my a**. This just adumbrates the future as the Islamists begin to take control of Egypt abrogating the treaty with Israel and entering into hostilities with it. The Western press is pathetically uninformed and incapable of grasping the true nature of Islamist or reluctant to report the truth because they favor Islams triumph over the Jews. The fall of Mubarak is a disaster which has increased the instability of the Mid-East and will lead us inexorably closer to the major conflagration the Muslims desire.
the Pew Research polls also said that most Egyptians were happy with Egypt... and then all of a sudden a revolt?! I wouldn't put too much stock in what the Pew polls say. Most of it is complete biased crap. Especially when you look at how they come up with these "opinions" based on the questions they ask. And Pew regularly takes questions from polls conducted years ago and adds those results into current polls they are doing, which then doesn't really show how people are feeling NOW. It's all spin.
Also, 1000 people "across Egypt", a country of 83 MILLION people? and that is only supposed to give an error of +/- 4%? So they only need to sample 0.001% of the population to give a result that reflects the opinion of the other 99.998% of the population with an accuracy of +/-4%? I say BS!
unenlightenedeuropean: So, war is better than peace? Help us understand, we must be missing something.
Take a look at a map of the middle east and compare the size and population of Israel with the total of their arab neighbors and then talk about how Israel is an aggressor, etc. Arabs live freely in Israel; how many jews live in arab lands?
so only the wealthy and educated are in favor of the treaty...(i wonder why?)
also it appears the Muslim brotherhood is highly favored in Egypt at the moment (i wonder why?)
maybe because the poor and uneducated are easily swayed by the fundamental clerics and militants into believing that the jews are the cause of all their problems, sound familiar?
watch your back Israel, this is starting to look real bad for you.
"So they only need to sample 0.001% of the population to give a result that reflects the opinion of the other 99.998% of the population with an accuracy of +/-4%? I say BS!"
Did you ever test this out? Since I was curious, I wrote a quick computer program that would randomly setup 83 million 'people', and I randomly polled 1000 of 'them' many times. More than 98% of the time it was accurate to the real value within 4%. More than 95% of the time it was accurate within 3%. Pretty cool. :)
Though it's tricky. As I recall from school, the sampling needs to be as random as possible. For instance, if they called people to ask the questions, then they are biased towards people who own phones. Or if they asked on the street, then they biased towards people who lived in certain neighborhoods. The science is valid but it's hard to be truly random.
This reporter shows a dislike for Israel. What is this a joke calling the killers, the radical muslim brotherhood ,,,conservitive?
Hahaha, omg. Do you even know what conservative means? Or liberal for that matter? The words have been twisted in the United States, partly in thanks to the fact that the average American's vocabulary is total garbage (see above).
Conservative = maintaining status quo, traditional beliefs, traditional power structures. Let me put it this way: Fundamentalism is basically an extreme form of conservatism. The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt isn't really all that radical, it has developed radical branches in other states, but think of it sort of like the Christian-Right in the US. The Christian-Right has its extremists indeed, but for the most part they aren't considered 'radical' - they just lobby and push for Christianity having a larger role in politics and litigation.
It is a little too conservative to want to go back to the first three generations of Islam.
The Koran, like the Bible, is open to different interpretations. The Brotherhood doesn't believe this. They will determine who is a good Muslim or real Muslim and not a khalafi.
If the Brotherhood gets the chance, Religious police will replace the old security police - One dictatorship for another.
That's something I always find interesting among Islamists, their tendency to name every other Islamic group 'kafir' - or non-true Muslims - and then forming a country based on this lol.
It's been done since the start with the Shia and Sunni, Twelvers and then ofc the Sufi mystics and that sect in Yemen, also Wahabism in Saudi Arabia. There are a lot.
Although the various Christian sects also are supposed to consider the others as 'false' Christians, or even 'abominations' such as in Mormonism. Thankfully, most Christians are fat and happy in developed countries - so violence over such things seems trivial (for the time being). The potential is there though. Christianity is not superior in this regard, far from it, its followers simply find themselves in a lucky position at the moment.
The science is valid but it's hard to be truly random.
And there in lies my point. They mention the cities but they never mention where within the cities they stop people. They also never show any information related to the people questioned.
I gaurantee I could go to egypt and stop 1000 people and get whatever result I wanted. The problem is their "selection" of who they "stop" for questioning. Also, what type of person agrees to answer the questions compared to those who say "no".
Tell you what... in your computer program. Make all a small portion (maybe 25%) of those "opposed" to the topic more inclined to agree to take the survey. Make those in favor, less inclined to take the survey. then as you ask the computer program to randomly pick 1000 out of the 83 billion, it has to use that weighting factor... Watch how quickly the results change from your initial trial.
Yes the science behind the +/-4% is sound. But that is in a completely sterile, unbiased system. It doesn't account for any other factors that could bias the questions. You need to ask a much larger percentage of the population the same questions in order to overcome the biases from the interviewers and those being interviewed.
As an example, say I'm an egyptian and I am in favor of Israel. I really could care less about spending the time explaining my stance... so I would say "no" when approached to be a part of the poll.
On the other hand... someone who is pissed off at Israel and wants them wiped off the map might be/would be more inclined to agree to take the poll and vent their ideals/frustrations with Israel. This "human factor" skews the results and is why Pew is usually way off base with most of their polls.
Not to mention the "human factor" of the people giving the poll. If I'm standing somewhere looking for people to poll in a public area...and I WANT the poll to say Egyptians are against Israel. It's easy for me to approach those who look like they might be more inclined to say they are against Israel. In doing this, some may actually surprise me and say they are for Israel, but I'd get a pretty high rate of people against Israel in doing this. If I want to do a poll that shows that most Southerners in the US are still prejudice against African Americans... i can go to places where I'm more likely to find bigots, and then approach only those that really look like they might support my cause.
And if I couldn't quite pull together enough data to support the stance... I could cherry pick questions from previous polls (some dating back 4 or 5 years) and ADD them to my poll (out of context of course) to help make my poll say what I want it to say.
Most of the polls I've downloaded from Pew, when I actually looked at the poll data and the actual test questions, stated things like "questions 101-124 taken from Poll #____" And when you look up that poll, you realize it was from 2008 and the topic was how Egyptians felt about Obama's election or some other completely unrelated topic... But the questions, out of context, when moved from the 2008 poll into the latest poll can help justify the end "assumption" the poll tries to make. They don't really expect anyone to actually look up where these other questions come from.
Anyway... in order to combat the bias of the polling entity, you need to use a much larger pool of people to poll. They know this, and it's why the limit the polls to 1000 or less. They try to hide their bias BEHIND The fact that statistically speaking their error rate should be +/-4% IF their polling subjects were truly random and all of the questions were asked of the same people throughout the entire poll. But when you have a chunk of questions asked of a different set of people from 5 years ago, and another chunk of questions asked of a different set of people from 3 years ago, and the topics of those polls were completely different... and you are not being entirely random in your selection of people to poll... you get results like the one this seed is based off of.
These are the principal findings from a nationwide survey of Egypt by the Pew Research Center’s Global Attitudes Project. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with 1,000 adults in Egypt between March 24 and April 7, 2011.
The survey in Egypt is part of the larger Spring 2011 Pew Global Attitudes survey conducted in 22 countries and the Palestinian territories under the direction of Princeton Survey Research Associates International.
Results for the survey in Egypt are based on 1,000 face-to-face interviews conducted March 24 to April 7, 2011. The survey is representative of the country’s adult population. It uses a multi-stage cluster sample design stratified by governorates proportional to population size and urban/rural population; about 2% of the population that lives in Frontier governorates is excluded for security reasons. All interviews were conducted in Arabic.
The margin of sampling error is ±4.0 percentage points. For the results based on the full sample, one can say with 95% confidence that the error attributable to sampling and other random effects is plus or minus the margin of error. In addition to sampling error, one should bear in mind that question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of opinion polls.
You obviously have no idea how or why Israel was formed. Do your homework and you fill know why we support them. I don't agree with all they do, but hell, I don't agree with half of what WE do.
The revolutionaries in Egypt need to REALLY think about how things have been for the past 30 or so years. They didn't have to worry about wars, etc. Guess they would rather be like the majority of Middle East countries and just continue to fight each other to death in perpetuity.
Yes, the Brits thought it was a good idea to carve out some land for the Jews after WW2, which went down really well with the locals. 'Nuff said. As a French Foreign Minister once said " Why all the fuss over Israel, its a @!$%#ty little country next to the Mediteranean".
Enlightened European? I don't think so. Have you ever been to Israel? It's beautiful. If you had visited you wouldn't be quoting an obvioulsy anti-Semitic French Foreign Minister. Israel has done great things with that "@!$%#ty little country.
@ eyetold; Strategic partnership, this is why they remain important. The latest which most of you have not heard about yet is we have successfully tested a cloaking device in Israel. The Egyptians wont know what hit them literally.ie stone age vs space age.
Anulling the peace treaty would not bode well for Egypt. As I stated in my first post, the majority usually does not know what really is going on.
Maybe it would be a good idea if so many of you here making statements of your hate for the Jewish people would at least explore the history of of the Jews and the land now known as Israel, just in the last 200 years. The turks took lands away from Jewish people and pushed thousands from their homes and off their lands and out of the middle east. This was to make room for the muslim desert nomads from what is now Jordan, Eygpt and Syria.
The turks are real good at ethnic cleansing, Their killings of millions of non muslims in the last 200 years would make Hitler or Stalin look like angles. OH I almost forgot the turks and Iran were partners with Hitler.
You same people who want to give back the USA lands to the American Indean now want to kick off the Jewish people from their trible lands and let the desert nomads who untill just recent history never lived in or on the lands now known as Israel. Its real hard to figure out you radicals of the left.
Maybe its just your discrimination and hate for the Jewish people. Remember it was the left wing radicals and Rosevelt of the 1940's that sent thousands of Jewish people refused safe haven at USA ports and sent them back to be killed in Hitlers Germany.
How far now is the USA radical left, union thugs, black panthers, socialist, from wanting ethnic cleansing in the USA for anyone who the radical socialist left does not agree with. Right now you left radical socialist are told to hate banks, rich people, free speach, rights to work, small business, and anyone who thinks Bambam has totaly failed as pres. The president now has people on staff who advise him that maybe 20 million Americans would have to be done away with, Killed. Then the rest of the country would fall in line to the socialist agenda.
Some people should 1st learn how to spell before they post their intelligent opinons here, 2nd the U.S. only supports Israel because of the Jewish lobby here, and because Israel allows the U.S. to have a military base in the middle east. And that is allowed because Israel NEEDS our billions of annual tax dollars. Without them, they wouldn't last a year.
Dave, originally, the title of this article said that the majority of Egyptians want to end the current peace deal with Israel.
Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure every article regarding the Mideast is going to attract some level of Jew hatred, regardless of subject matter. Seriously, I'm sure some of the more off-the-wall comments wouldn't look too out of place on Stormfront.
It becomes clear that the Egyptian population, by wanting to scrap the peace treaty with Israel, must really not know what sort of as s kicking they would be letting themselves in for if they poke the lion with a sharp stick -- again. I bet property in the Middle East is getting ready to become seriously devalued if this happens.
Yes we do send them some foreign aid, which personally I think we should stop. However, they build many of their own weapons and can stand on their own without us. Ever since Obama was elected they have been stockpiling more weapons in the event he turned against them and sided with the Muslims.
Well gee AG, if its such an insignificant amount, lets stop it now. Lets also stop giving them weapons and acting as their advocate in the UN. If we do that, Israel will be sanctioned by the international community in a month. Most of the world knows they are the source of problems in the ME.
See how well they do then. Israel exists only because America supports their useless a$$es.
However, they build many of their own weapons and can stand on their own without us.
Most of there weapons consist of reverse engineered American weapons which they sell on the world market. They are a huge weapons dealer these days.
The foreign aid we give them amounts to about 5% of their budget.
Maybe in foreign aid but not military aid. That 3 billion we give them in economic aid they loan it right back to us and collect at the end of the year with interest. If you can get a link to the amount of military funding we are giving them I would love to see it.
The United States has appropriated a total of $414.5 million in bilateral assistance to the Palestinians for FY2008:
•$239.5 million in Economic Support Fund assistance
•$150 million in direct assistance to the PA
•$25 million in INCLE security assistance
A "bridge fund" appropriation for FY2009 of $150 million in Economic Support Fund (ESF) assistance for the West Bank and Gaza, along with $50 million in INCLE security assistance, has been made pursuant to the Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2008 (P.L. 110-252). The Administration requested an additional ESF assistance of $75 million, along with $25 million in INCLE assistance, for FY2009.
Do the math, Dave - an ADDITIONAL $300M on top of the ongoing support....for Palestinians...
Usual Zionists apologists on here then. This is real democracy in action that we are seeing in Egypt, and the U.S. support for the Israeli apartheid state can't go on for ever. Oh, go ahead, call me an anit-semite.....morons !!
Love how you can't disagree with Israel's foreign and domestic policies without being labeled Anti-Semitic by some jerk-wad. I guess we just have to let Israel do what ever they want or be called a Jew hater. Screw the content of their character and actions as it's evidently irrelevant because of their religion.
You are correct mate. The rest of the world is starting to demand real change and movement to a two State solution in Israel. These cretins are the usual Zionist pawns, but their game is almost up.
So you're an Enlightened European, Explain to me How Islamo-Facism and the Muslim Brotherhood are good for the Outcome here. You Guys are so Overrun right now with Diversity, Europe as we know it will not exist in ten years. Bow to the West Five Times and get a Cushy Prayer Rug, I am truly afraid your skull is empty.
Let me see if I get this straight. A bunch of thugs in Germany with the same political views towards human life and individual freedom as todays fundamentalist muslim thugs tries to eradicate an entire group of people. THAT group of people has over 6 million of its people killed, gets displaced about 6 times, and ends up on a barren peice of desert that almost nobody wants in refugee camps and doesn't like it. Ther resist the inhumane treatment, claim about a 40 square mile of sand as a home, and are immediatley attacked by every Arab country in the region who, in 1948, were pretty much muslim fanatics themselves in control of several hundred thousand square mile of land. Israel all but annihilates them in not only that 1948 war, but the 1956, 1967, and 1973 wars, and they give BACK real estate trying to maintain peace that they won IN WAR with blood. How many nations give back ground they take in war besides the USA (which in the last 71 years has a war track record of 1 won, 1 draw, and 1 loss)? To even say that Israel is an apartheid state is sheer idiocy and can only be coming from what is probably one of the tens of thousands of muslilm fundamentalists that complacent Europeans have allowed to permeate their cities. All the "Zionist" haters had better get their head out of their nether regions and pray that nobody does something stupid to piss Israel off because it's a country with over 600 nuclear weapons that would vaporize that entire area of the world before it faced genocide once again directed at its own people. NEVER AGAIN DUMBO!!!!!!
Ahh, I thought you were better than that, JP. How very soporific of you to bring up the Holocaust. Yes, millions have subsequently suffered because millions suffered 70 years ago. What happened was an awful event - nobody but a fool would deny that. But you cannot keep playing your Holocaust 'joker' card everytime somebody legitimately criticises Israeli policy.
More accurate version. European Jews began a back to israel movement in the late 19th century - Zionism - started by atheists and socialists and taken over by religious Jews in the 1940's. European countries persecuted and killed Jews for centuries. Britain in World War I was worried that Jewish financiers would support Germany so in 1917 they promised them a homeland, saying in the Balfour declaration that the Muslims shouldn't be displaced. At the same time the promised the same land to the Arabs if they would revolt against the Turkish Ottoman Empire.
The Jewish population of Palestine increased from 25,000 in 1882 to 650,000 in 1948 fleeing European crimes in Russia, Germany and elsewhere and because the Europeans couldn't or wouldn't compensate the survivors. Local Arabs began to react against the immigrants from the 1920's, some of whom launched political demonstrations in Jaffa and Jerusalem. Some radical Muslims spread false rumors of Muslims killed by Jews and caused violent riots agaisnt Jews several times prior to World War II (over sixty Jews killed in Hebron and over 20 in Safed). As statehood approached and the Arabs rejected sharing Jerusalem with Israel, there was a battle for Jerusalem and terrrorism from both sides (including considerable Jewish terrorism agaisnt innocent Arab families adn terrible things done by Arabs as well).
At statehood in 1948, 700,000 Arabs fled in fear of death and their lands and houses were confiscated by the 650,000 Jews. Neighboring countries had attacked Israel and were beaten badly in 1948 and 1967. Egypt struck back in 1973, killed some Jews and claimed it as a victory, restoring its honor enough to proposed a peace with Israel - finalized in 1979, getting its land band its canal back as part of the bargain.
After 1948, stateless Arab refugees from Israel entered Jordan and tried violently to take power from the Hashemite king. There was a brief but bloody civil war and many of them were expelled from Jordan. Palestinian refugees also entered Lebanon where they tried to attack Israel, contributed to an extremely bitter civil war in Lebanon.
Israel after statehood recruited Jews from all over the Middle East to come and live in Israel. Some of them weren't welcome in countries that had lost wars to Israel (Egypt's Nasser in a social revolution took the property of all rich people and said the Jews could stay only if they gave us foreign citilizenship. They all left (wisely).
Israel subsidized the settlement of new arrivals in lands it had conquered in 1967. It made peace with Egypt in 1979 (ending the major threat to its existance) and peace with Jordan in 1994. Israeli Prime Minister Rabin was killed by a radical Jew for making peace (just as Egypt's Sadat had been killed by radical Muslims for making peace).
Taking over land and expelling the inhabitants was illegal by international law agreed after the crimes of colonialism and Nazism. But the settlements were subsidized and cheap and convenient places to live. Some extremist ultra orthodox Jews - sometimes violent enemies Muslims and of more liberal Jews (half of Israel isn't religious) claimed that God gave them the land and some of them welcomed the murder of Prime Minister Rabin for making peace.
In 2002 all the Arab governments called for peace based on 1967 borders. Some Israelis (the previous government - prior to 2009) wanted to negotiate peace. A proposal from Defense Minister Barak (in the current governemnt) was provisionally accepted by teh Palestinians - temple mount autonomous, Israel gets most of Jerusalem including the big Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem and along the border, Palestine gets the Arb quarter of Jerusalem. (Gaza could have voted to join or not in a referendum after the peace was completed - getting an enclosed highway to the West Bank if they said yes - they would have said yes). This was the deal the Kadima Party President Perez and the US wanted Israel to accept. Kadima (which got more votes than Likud in teh last election) offered to join with Netanyahu to make the peace. Netanyahu decided to stay with his extremist coalition and reject the peace.
Basically, Israel wants most or all of the land in the West Bank. The snag is that it is populated and Jordan has already made peace with Israel, set is border at the Jordan river and won't accept more destabilizing refugees.
Gaza is a violent little side issue - easy to control with or without peace. Gaza was given sort of independence but was surrounded by enemies - Israel and Mubarak's Egypt. The real issue is the West Bank - how Israel can take the land without the people. At present it seems that it can't expel them and it doesn't want them in Israel. That is a dilemma.
The thing that most outside observers fail to recall is that Israel never started any of its major wars ('48, '56, '67, '73). In each of those engagements, particularly '67, they were attacked first, and made their land gains with the intent to sieze land used for staging attacks against them (see: Golan Heights, prime example).
Certainly, the Israeli government isn't completely blameless for the current situation, either. They've made some incredibly poor decisions now and then. Europe and the rest of the world tends to perceive their responses as "over-reacting". However, the fact remains that Israel must react the way it does because to do otherwise would make them appear weak. In a region of the world where the strong man rules, they can't afford to do otherwise or they would be in a significantly disadvantaged situation.
No solution to this problem can be had unilaterally. It would probably be in Israel's best interest to slow down or completely halt the settlement of contested regions. But really, their neighbors, Palestinian and otherwise, need to seriously just stop their constant aggression.
I'm not suggesting that they have to like eachother; that ship's sailed a long time ago. But the shelling and bombing from Israel's neighbors needs to stop. Period. There is no argument that anyone can possibly make that anything good ever comes of it. All it does is force Israel to respond out of necessity in a manner which most westerners and europeans would consider "draconian". I'm not suggesting that Israel's arab neighbors "bow down" to Israel by any means; just... stop attacking.
Israel is, in fact, a democratic state, and operates in a manner similar to most european countries as a parliamentary democracy. As such, its policy is set by politicians which gague the sentiment of their constituents. If you have a population of citizenry who are angry because of this week's shelling or bus bombing, you're likely going to be motivated to respond lest they find themselves on the wrong end of a re-election. Israelis will stop being hawkish once they have a reasonable idea that they no longer have to keep looking over their shoulder.
Finally, on the subject of "anti-zionism" and "anti-semitism", it's ridiculous to couple the two. A person who disagrees with Israeli policy isn't automatically a "Jew-Hater". To be certain, at least here in America, that it's entirely possible for someone to be anti-semitic and still support Israel due to its significance to Christianity. I'd suggest to both sides that slinging labels instead of focusing on issues isn't the best way to talk about the problem.
As a Jew myself, I am of course proud of Israel, and I firmly believe that they have a right to peacefully coexist with their neighbors. I'm not deluded to believe that the government of Israel is somehow magically infallible; they're human, they make mistakes, sometimes terrible ones. However, their neighbors don't have the right to play the victim card either when they're the ones starting land wars or sending people onto busses with bombs strapped on their chests.
Technically Israel attacked first in 1956 and 1967. Nasser threatened Israel - some high Israeli officers said afterward they knew Nasser didn't have enough resources in place to attack, but he asked the Un troops to withdraw and threatened to attack Israel so they attacked first and humiliated Egypt.
Some say Nasser was told by the Russians that the Israelis were planning to attack Syria and this contributed to his bluster. He was a very bad leader and did much damage to his country, not only in the foolish wars with Israel.
The Suez canal is totally in Egypt between the Sinai desert (Asian Egypt and African Egypt. France managed to build the canal, with a large degree of Egyptian resources, cheated Egypt and encouraged Egypt's spendthrift Pasha to go bankrupt (trying to rebuild Cairo to turn it into Paris). Britain was threatened by the canal with its enemy (France) controlling the cheapest route to its most important colony (India). The British Prime Minister (Disraeli) borrowed money from his banker friend Rothschild and bough up half the shares on the stock market before the French knew what was happening.
Britain later took over bankrupt Egypt as a colony - resented bitterly by many Egyptians some of whom supported the Germans in WWII hoping to through off the yoke of the British.
The US prevented Israel, France and Britain from beating Egypt in 1956. Israel didn't have any more natural right to ship through the Suez canal (tottally in Egypt) than Egypt had the right to ship to Jordan via Haifa Harbor in Israel. The US stopped the conflict (fearing a war with Russia) by threatening to sell British war debt and bankrupt the country.
Sounds like it's time for a repeat of 1967. This time the Soviet Union is in no position to raise hell if Israel continues to roll towards Damascus and Cairo. Let the games begin.
You are showing the true Zionist colors, clamchop, war and more war for land and water. In your next breath you will be proclaiming all Israel wants is peace.
There is so often a gap between the views of the educated and the uneducated, we have the same problem in this country. Those who cannot formulate their own views by dint of reason and logic follow generalized sentiment effused by those who incite fear, intolerance, and violence toward others. Egypt's tourism business is as dessicated as a mummy's turd, and I doubt many American's will be wanting to visit after reading this public opinion poll.
let me answer that.....uhmm... because there wouldn't be the current global terror epidemic if it wasn't being fuelled by the current apartheid system in Israel. Give the Palestinians a real 'Home', not the squalor they have to live under currently. Americans, as usual, are completely ignorant to anything outside their own state, let alone country. Back to your doughnut and 'American Idol' moron !!
But, Israel is bigger and better armed, so I bet you can guess who I frown at more.
Shoulder launched rockets are terrible, but they're not phosphorous bombs.
To hell with collective punishment.
@ enlightenedeuropean
I'm an American. As a practicing anarcho-pacifist, I do not condone violence in any side of a conflict.
That said, Israel has been the bigger, better armed aggressor since they decided to Colonize the area, so I have harsher words for them, while still not condoning the rocket attacks.
If the Palestinians were smart, they'd put down the rockets, and pick up cell phones, Twitter, Facebook, and Google mash ups.
Much more effective, just look at Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and Syria.
Well said. I agree that social media can help the cause, but as a father, if I wasn't able to feed my child, or take them to a hospital if sick, I think I would be tempted to more immedite action. The current conditions in Gaza and the West Bank are intolerable.
I'm so sick of people who are jealous of Israel's success and her contributions to humanity in the face of ignorant desert goats wanting to trample her. If Egyptians and other Arabs don't like the punishment Gazans are suffering because of their terrorism, then they should invest in Gaza to give these "freedom fighters" something else to do with their time. Israel loves its children. Arab mothers raise them to be killers and martyrs.
Based on what I've seen in television and movies, they both raise their children to carry on the hatred of the previous generation. It's the only reason I could think of why bordering nations must continually murder eachother.
Kaff, that's part of the problem. Too many people's opinions on "what they've seen on television and in movies." Too many people take other people's opinions and the entertainment media as fact.
"Back to your doughnut and 'American Idol' moron !!"
enlightenedeuropean: why do I get the impression that if I were to change the word "doughnut" to "fried chicken", "American Idol" to "BET", and "moron" to "Negro", you would be pitching a fit and telling me that I'm an overgeneralizing racist?
I'm surprised someone as "enlightened" as you would be so intellectually lazy that you would revert to stereotypes in describing those who disagree with you.
Nobody finding it ironic that we supported throwing out a leader who maintained a peace with Israel that's unpopular with over half the population of Egypt? I question the wisdom of supporting groups in the Middle East who we don't which way their politics run. I'm going to laugh my ass of if it turns out the the rebels in Libya are mostly Al Qaeda and John McCain called them his heroes.
Libya and Syria - run by autocratic dictators, filled with Islamic extremists chomping at the bit to overthrow the semi secular governments, who want to usher in an Islamic utopia, peaceful and loving in the extreme!
Egyptians have short memories. It wasn't so long a go that the Israeli Army was as the Suez Canal, with only the World's superpowers asking them to hold up, between them and completely taking Egypt over.
You hit the nail on the head. Only difference this time will be much more expensive (Western) weapons systems getting destroyed by Israel, and, hopefully, no Superpower stepping in to hold back Israel from completing the job.
That whole part of the world is circling the bowl, and they are stupid enough to once again start crap with Israel? In the mid 1960's it was Syria and the Soviets pulling Strings (Egypt) and stirring the pot. It's time for us to step back and let the chips fall where they may, and if Israel brutally runs over the bordering counties, so be it. Enough is enough.
The Egyptian military is little better than bronze age tribesmen in uniforms. They are real pretty in formation but Israel would absolutely massacre them. There are a few Egyptian special forces units that might hold their own but they are few and far between.
Joe, I wouldn't be so cocky. Remember how Hezbollah gave the IDF a good a$$ whipping in 2006? I am going to guess that Egypt has a lot better equipment than Hezbollah. America might not be around to save Israel as we have in the past.
Hah let them end it and watch Israel stomp them out, that would be funny. Why don't we just let the Israelis control the Suez area, then we don't even have to worry about Egypt.
You really are fookin' stupid, aren't you ?? This isn't some video game here, we are talking about human beings, children, the elderly. You wonder why the world hates Americans, because of twats like you that no doubt voted that monkey boy cowboy Bush into office 2 times. Don't go to Europe lads - or if you do, keep your mouths shut, and pretend to be Canadians. HAHAHA !!
Yes, a real social democracy at work. The Scandinavian countries do have very high tax brackets, but there is a social safety net and community order that works ( and is not abused ). Probably somewhere between what they have and the pure market capitalism over here would be appropriate - close to what the French have ( just so I can be sure to get a few choice replies to this !! )....
That is an issue for sure, especially with the French, but not relevant to the bigger picture of the quality of life available to EVERYONE in a 'social democracy', compared to the increasingly 'dog-eat-dog' capitalism in America.
Enough of this European clap trap on Socialistic enlightenment. If it wasn't for the 66 years of American power allowing your countries to wave their own flags you'ed be a province of the USSR. Presently America is getting mighty tired of having spent trillions to rebuild, and keep Europe free with only your snobbish attitude as thanks. You think your armies would hold Russia back, yeah for about half a day before they hoisted their flag over your capitals. Two times this century we've come to Europe to save your ungrateful asses, only asking for enough land to bury our dead. Its not that we have to hear a thanks (although that might have been nice), but at least you could conceal your disgust and hatred for us.
I say remove our troops from Germany, and elsewhere, and let you enjoy the oncoming diversity. However whether that's Islam from within, or Russia from without is hard to say.
The Muslim Brotherhood has done a great job fomenting hatred and inciting violence in the Moslem/ Arab population of Egypt. They're pumped up to annihilate Israel and exterminate the Jewish people. But I wonder how they feel about giving back the Sinai and its oil wells and giving up use of the Suez Canal, their largest commercial venture. Let's take another poll.
dougiboy - there you go again, lying through your teeth. The Muslim Brotherhood has not done one thing to incite violence and hatred. You Zionists are working to incite violence and hatred even as I type this reply. That was the purpose of your post.
"The thesis that the danger of genocide was hanging over us in June 1967 and that Israel was fighting for its physical existence is only bluff, which was born and developed after the war." Israeli General Matityahu Peled, Ha'aretz, 19 March 1972.
Is Israel going to attack Egypt again and claim it was defending herself? As you can read, it was a lie the first time.
Ralph expert at spouting "Liar" hasnt read the Muslim Brotherhood web-site? I dont think so. He is a treacherous and slippery fellow. And a bald-faced liar. And he presumes YOU are really really stupid
its like this, you accuse everyone of lying, being an arab, when they state something you attack, claiming they are doing something they are not, you always want links, when links are provided you dismiss them
where did i say ralph is everyone? nowhere i merely stated that you think everyone is a liar and you are nothing more than a bully with a keyboard. you hide behind it and think your intellect is superior to everyone else, well guess what there kleb, you're not, not even close. but hey at least i know how to read and comprehend, can you say the same?
Me too. Also right alongside Egypt hopefully maintaining the peace with Israel. Ralph kind of had 14.2 coming when he said "The Muslim Brotherhood has not done one thing to incite violence and hatred" in #14.1. If that isn't an outright lie, or just unbelievable ignorance, I don't know what is.
Ralph's statement was so bald-faced; presuming he is not hopelessly stupid,
I could not restrain myself. However his posts bears out the the depths that Palestinian Muslims & thier dhimmi apologists will descend in order to foist their agenda.
We are led by the Secret Consortium of the Wit Brothers, Half, Dumb and Nit. Throw some genuine Islamo-Facism in and the next year or two should be very interesting. We have snatched Defeat from the Jaws of Victory. OBungla-Leading a Once Great Nation to Third World Status. Remember in November!
When was this poll taken and by whom? How many participated in it? I live in Egypt, I follow the news and never heard of such a poll! I know that most Egyptians do not want a war, we want to live a good life and the recent revolution was against poverty, so it makes no sense that we would take that route...
Please express your thinking here ( besides the non-related remarks)..makes no sense why another country wants to end a peace treaty now that they got a so-call freedom!
because they see Israel, with US support, as the oppressor of fellow Arabs ( ie Palestinians
The Arabs and Muslims are treated better in Israel and have a better standard of living than most of the other non-oil producing muslim or arab nations. Ask any Israeli Arab if they would rather move to Yemen, or Syria, or Lybia, or Iraq, or Lebanon, or Jordan. When the palestinians tried to overthrow the Jordaninan government the king killed 10,000 of them and kicked them all to Lebanon. No one complained. The palestinians have lived in squalor all of these years because that's where the Arab nations wanted them to be. While an equal amount of refugees from the 1948 war were kicked out of Arab lands they had lived in for 1000's of years, no one complains about it. No one syas they should have the right of return and be compensated for the value of what was stolen from them. Because Israel took them in and made them part of Israel. While the Arab nations could have done the same thingfor the Arab refugees, they chose not to. So please stop with the hipocracy.
"born-in-the USA but why are they so against Israel" the problem is simple my dear friend, try going into another country and then claiming it as yours and then declare it as the independednt state of Israel, oppress, kill the native people (Palestinians) and gradually steal more of their land for 60+ years, while the stongest country in the world (USA) and its alies backing up Israel and its lies, and then you wonder why the Palestinians and the rest of their fellow arabs hate Israel/America, if you hurt an american in one state you piss off americans in other states as well.
born in the US every action has an equal and opposite reaction, Israel's actions lead to the creation of hamas, hizballah and the hate towards it and the west, i agree why dont we stop the BS. the only way forward now is to put all this behind us and try to work towards a fair two state solution both sides need to compromise like hell, but i would expect more compromise from Israel since it started this mess and is far more powerful.
Unfortunately - nobody owns the land. The Jews were living in Israel long before Islam was even invented.
The region has been conquered and reconquered over and over. It belongs to nobody and everybody.
A nation cannot "steal" a country, it can only conquer it. Once your people's land is conquered, it no longer belongs to you, plain and simple.
Take it back if you must, you can try, but crying about it being 'stolen' because your people were not strong enough to hold onto it is nonsense. A nation is only sovereign if it can defend itself.
post 21.9 could not have said it better about my country PALESTINE, not territory. Simple
Slight problem.
Palestine was NEVER a country.
Never was, never will be.
From the words of Arafat himself -
"The Palestinian people have no national identity. I, Yasser Arafat, man of destiny, will give them that identity through conflict with Israel."
from the words of Zuheir Muhsein -
"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel. For our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of Palestinian people, since Arab national interest demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism".
In the middle east region, three things come to mind:
1. Poverty
2. Islam
3. Dictatorships
Only Israel does not have these things. All others do. That's why they dont get along. They are from different threads of cloth.
Oil and water don't mix.
The poverty that exists in the middle east is due to high birth rates and rule by the end of a rifle. With all that oil around there one would think by now these people would be more civilised and educated, but since Islamic dictators dont like to share wealth and power, you get mostly uneducated angry poor people.
It is readily apparent by the sheer number of morons making comments like "enlightenedeuropean" which suggest that Egypt should cancel out of the Camp David Peace Accords that they "know not of what they speak". This stupidity is so insulting I almost hesitate to respond. In a nutshell, prior to the Camp David accords, Egypt had lost 4 wars with Israel to the tune of over a million dead and was on it's way to becoming Israeli real estate. The entire Sinai was given BACK to the Egyptians by Israel in exchange for a peace that has lasted over 32 years and allowed Egypt to prosper, that is before the mob-driven stupidity that basically destroyed one of the most stable countries AND allies in the region. Israel does NOT need nuclear weapons to obliterare the Egyptian armed forces, or for that matter, most of the armed forces in the region, and MANY in Israel would love the chance to retake the Sinai and Suez which they won by blood in the 67 and 73 wars. I have served with the Multinational Peacekeeping Force and Obsesrvers in the Sinai, and been an advisor to both the Egyptian National Army and Israeli Defense Force, and I can tell you that if you want to see ANOTHER slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Egyptians just do away with the Camp David treaty and attack Israel. Of course people from different planets like "anarcho-pacifist" are so brain dead that they wouldn't even notice the difference. What a bunch of dimwits!!!
I don't give a toss about your history mate, it seems to me you don't have an objective opinion here ( which says everything about your 'advising' to the Egyptian army ). Israel is NOTHING without the billions in military aid that the US gives it every year. You see, like that @!$%# Rumsfeld said. 'Democracy is messy'........be careful for what you wish for. Most of the world couldn't believe that the monkey Bush was elected TWICE, but that was the Americans choice. Lets see what the Egyptians do with real freedom after 32 years of oppression from Mubarak, shall we ??
Well Mate you have your agenda as others have theirs, but one thing you're not is objective, which certainly says something about your posts about the West.
I served in the MFO as well. The U.S. would be well served to withdraw and save their cash from this useless, antiquated, and unecessary organization. The world community today wouldn't stand for another Israeli slaughter of Egyptians and the untold number of war crimes and atrocities they commited the last time they were there.
Boy its great we supported the revolution that wants a war with the Jews! 85 % of them hate America, yes we want violent regimes in power so we sell our old Jews friends down the drain. Not my kind of democracy, maybe the Administration has a different view on freedom!
Why the U.S. continues to support Israel is beyond me. Especially after Israel targeted and blatantly killed U.S. servicemen aboard the ship Liberty in international waters during the '67 war. The only military act on a ship that congress has never investigated. Why we continue to cover-up for these thugs is beyond me.
Everything is falling in to place. 2012 draws near.
I say BS!
nobody want to talk about 2012
unenlightenedeuropean: So, war is better than peace? Help us understand, we must be missing something.
Take a look at a map of the middle east and compare the size and population of Israel with the total of their arab neighbors and then talk about how Israel is an aggressor, etc. Arabs live freely in Israel; how many jews live in arab lands?
And yes, you are an anti-semite.
so only the wealthy and educated are in favor of the treaty...(i wonder why?)
also it appears the Muslim brotherhood is highly favored in Egypt at the moment (i wonder why?)
maybe because the poor and uneducated are easily swayed by the fundamental clerics and militants into believing that the jews are the cause of all their problems, sound familiar?
watch your back Israel, this is starting to look real bad for you.
israelo can't last forever simply becuz is surounded by Arabs.
israel will stand the test of time..... trust me.
all is going according to plan.
it will just get MUCH worse before it gets better.
Funny thing...
Who do they want to keep out of Egypt again??
LOL!!!!!
That's right Egypt, scrap peace with Israel and maybe go to war. Push them hard enough and your cities will be glassy craters.
How wise would it be to turn your next door neighbor into a cauldron of radioactivtiy that's going to drift right back at you?
Ever hear of a neutron bomb?
Some Lame Name Here:
If the Israelis think they are about to be obliterated, they might not care.

@WakeUpPeople
What is this a joke calling the killers, the radical muslim brotherhood ,,,conservitive?
sickofliberals
The important factor is the "fat and happy." This has more to do with it than religious dogma.
Just what the world needs, another Islamic state
And there in lies my point.
Here's the pew report that states Egyptians want an end to the treaty with Israel.
http://pewglobal.org/2011/04/25/egyptians-embrace-revolt-leaders-religious-parties-and-military-as-well/
"We want war. We want war." Yep, Egyptians are definitely ready for American-style democracy.
At least the Egyptians are willing to stand up to their Government. Americans are cowards and whiners.
We should stop any foreign aid to Egypt or Israel. It's not our fight. Why do we support Israel? They don't have any oil.
because of the Jewish lobby mate,uhmm....its got a little influence over how this country is run.
Can you say klingon.lol
Classic. FAIL.
Wow. So we should be trembling?
What about our bases in Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Iraq?
Or did you FORGET THAT PART?
what am i missing? the article was about egypt and it seems to of turned into yet another jew bashing free for all
Dave, originally, the title of this article said that the majority of Egyptians want to end the current peace deal with Israel.
The lions teeth and claws are funded by the US. Take away that funding and you have one helpless pussycat.
Try and pull out one of the lions claws or a tooth and let us know how that works out for you...
@Breeze
Yes we do send them some foreign aid, which personally I think we should stop. However, they build many of their own weapons and can stand on their own without us. Ever since Obama was elected they have been stockpiling more weapons in the event he turned against them and sided with the Muslims.
The foreign aid we give them amounts to about 5% of their budget. I'm sure they can do without us very well indeed.
Interestingly, Egypt gets the next biggest chunk of our money. (Well, maybe not anymore.)
Most of there weapons consist of reverse engineered American weapons which they sell on the world market. They are a huge weapons dealer these days.
Maybe in foreign aid but not military aid. That 3 billion we give them in economic aid they loan it right back to us and collect at the end of the year with interest. If you can get a link to the amount of military funding we are giving them I would love to see it.
According to this: www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/politics/us-foreign-aid.htm
the 5% includes all aid. (Israel has about a $60 billion annual budget.)
LOL
I can post several links that say the opposite. You got a government web site with military funding listed on it?
http://news.antiwar.com/2009/12/18/obama-approves-30-billion-in-military-aid-to-israel-over-next-decade/
They say that's 3 billion military funding a year plus 3 billion in economic aid making your 60 billion annual budget at 10%
Fact is you can't get a exact number from our government.
The State Dept has only posted 2007-09, but the numbers match the other link I gave you for FMF: http://www.state.gov/t/pm/64711.htm
Do your own research next time.
During Fiscal Year 2009, the U.S. is providing Israel with at least $8.2 million per day in military aid
Do the math, Dave - an ADDITIONAL $300M on top of the ongoing support....for Palestinians...
wow, i answer a question and get a snotty remark for it....
i still say we stop all this freaking support to everyone unless its food aid...
and for the record, i choose not to do the math tobii, that is all left for you
Of course Dave.
I'll do your math, I'll do your thinking, I'll tell you how to feel as well.
That's how you get through life, now, isn't it? By letting everyone else tell you how to do, how to act, how to feel?
Thanks for explaining where you stand. Buh-Bye.
Usual Zionists apologists on here then. This is real democracy in action that we are seeing in Egypt, and the U.S. support for the Israeli apartheid state can't go on for ever. Oh, go ahead, call me an anit-semite.....morons !!
You showed your true moronic Jew-Hating colors, and lost me at " Israeli apartheid state". Cheers.
OK you are an anti semite. Israel is the only buffer in that region that keeps the lid on from causing an all out war.
And don't tell me that some of my best friends are Jews.
european in the dark, you are really short on oxygen. Israel is basically the only functioning democracy in the area. Stupid moron.
No, but some of MY best friends are Jewish !! HAHa...your time is almost up lads !! VIVE LA REVOLUTION !!
Obvious Troll is Obvious.
Some lame name here
You are correct mate. The rest of the world is starting to demand real change and movement to a two State solution in Israel. These cretins are the usual Zionist pawns, but their game is almost up.
Ron, you beat me to it....
That doesn't even make sense. And your username is enlightened EUROPEAN? What do you know about America???
Enlightened - More short-sighted, misinformed and ignorant i think.
enlightenedeuropean, you are suspended for a week for violating rule # 1 of the Code of Honor all over the place. Please stop.
"How very soporific of you to bring up the Holocaust."
The Holocaust makes you sleepy?
Sounds like it's time for a repeat of 1967. This time the Soviet Union is in no position to raise hell if Israel continues to roll towards Damascus and Cairo. Let the games begin.
You are showing the true Zionist colors, clamchop, war and more war for land and water. In your next breath you will be proclaiming all Israel wants is peace.
congratulations we finally found the village idiot and you're it
Looks like any country we invade becomes friendly with Iran. Isnt time to stop.Lybia is the next friend in line.
Didn't want to prior and surely not after..I'd rather visit Mexico....At least the tequila is good...
rather go there than Israel any day!
Put your money where your mouth is. Bon Voyage.
I'm so sick of Israel.
Why?
let me answer that.....uhmm... because there wouldn't be the current global terror epidemic if it wasn't being fuelled by the current apartheid system in Israel. Give the Palestinians a real 'Home', not the squalor they have to live under currently. Americans, as usual, are completely ignorant to anything outside their own state, let alone country. Back to your doughnut and 'American Idol' moron !!
I'm an anarcho-pacifist.
I can't stand Hamas either.
The real war today is an Information War.
He doesn't like the design of their flag, prefers reds and greens on national flags.
iPan
Well said. I agree that social media can help the cause, but as a father, if I wasn't able to feed my child, or take them to a hospital if sick, I think I would be tempted to more immedite action. The current conditions in Gaza and the West Bank are intolerable.
If it's so intolerable why do so many live there? Don't tell me they are stuck there with no way out...
All the 7-11s and Circle-Ks here are run by those that left there, can't be to damn hard...
And I'm so sick of people like you!
enlightenedeuropean, you aren't very enlightened. better change your name.
Give me an uzi and some arabs to use as target practice. Make my day says dirty hairy. haha
Want another replay, Egyptians?
We armed Egypt too. It might be a fair fight now.
We armed Isreal better, and they actually know how to fight.
Remember the Liberty.
Israel needs more land & the spoils of war are sweet 8)
Let them come and try and take out Israel they will get routed.
They have had plenty of target practice. How does it go? Do unto others as others have done unto you?
So, what if some Arabs done crushed and leveled israelo, what would be the reaction really?
Spectacular...
The result would be Israel surrounded by a "Green Glass" desert. Israel will never let anyone take what they have.
Exactly never again will they have their lands taken
Hah let them end it and watch Israel stomp them out, that would be funny. Why don't we just let the Israelis control the Suez area, then we don't even have to worry about Egypt.
Clam Chop and Jeff
You really are fookin' stupid, aren't you ?? This isn't some video game here, we are talking about human beings, children, the elderly. You wonder why the world hates Americans, because of twats like you that no doubt voted that monkey boy cowboy Bush into office 2 times. Don't go to Europe lads - or if you do, keep your mouths shut, and pretend to be Canadians. HAHAHA !!
I actually wish I could live in Norway, Belgium, or Denmark.
I hear they are doing good things in those countries.
iPan
Yes, a real social democracy at work. The Scandinavian countries do have very high tax brackets, but there is a social safety net and community order that works ( and is not abused ). Probably somewhere between what they have and the pure market capitalism over here would be appropriate - close to what the French have ( just so I can be sure to get a few choice replies to this !! )....
Yes enlightened societies who are only now realizing that huge mistake to take in so many Muslim immigrants.
Joe
However whether that's Islam from within, or Russia from without is hard to say.
uhmmmm Larry, you are an idiot.
Must be I struck a nerve.......Just saying.
"I actually wish I could live in Norway, Belgium, or Denmark."
What's stopping you?
"The thesis that the danger of genocide was hanging over us in June 1967 and that Israel was fighting for its physical existence is only bluff, which was born and developed after the war."
Israeli General Matityahu Peled, Ha'aretz, 19 March 1972.
And he presumes YOU are really really stupid
he is the BIG LIE kind of liar. Reader, Beware!
wow, is everyone a liar? well according to kleb everyone but him is, he is the informed one and we are all useless, well in his world anyway...
what are you going to accuse me of next? guessing you know ralph personally since you claim to know so much about him.
duck some more behind that keyboard there kleb
Dave,
You and your voting lackies need to learn reading.
Explain how you can turn "Ralph" into "everyone"
That is according to dave294. Not Ixor.
Nice try sophist.
right back at you igor, nice try...
its like this, you accuse everyone of lying, being an arab, when they state something you attack, claiming they are doing something they are not, you always want links, when links are provided you dismiss them
where did i say ralph is everyone? nowhere i merely stated that you think everyone is a liar and you are nothing more than a bully with a keyboard. you hide behind it and think your intellect is superior to everyone else, well guess what there kleb, you're not, not even close. but hey at least i know how to read and comprehend, can you say the same?
who posted #14.4 again?
Ixor Kleb
if you can READ and COMPREHEND....
Who's IGOR??
Gotta love when people try to play the ""I'm smarter than you"" card...and FAIL.
I stand by my posts.
Standing right there with you.
chefaz-1319563
Thank you Frank, tobii and Chefaz.
Ralph's statement was so bald-faced; presuming he is not hopelessly stupid,
I could not restrain myself. However his posts bears out the the depths that Palestinian Muslims & thier dhimmi apologists will descend in order to foist their agenda.
egypt will be nuked to stone age.
Oops, they already are in stone age.
With over a thousand M1 Abrams tanks and the ability to manufacture them I kinda doubt it.
Angels on the sideline again

It was probably written by Mossad
Make falafel, not war
Tell that to israel by ending the illegal occupation of country Palestine. Smile.
Good for Egypt and Arabs expressing true feelings. Simple.
I don't give a flying F**k what they want to do..but why are they so against Israel??
I'm not jewish but if they want to hate someone it would be someone they already battled with like other arabs.
To me 80% of the world hates Israel..the USA and a small few more might like....why this way beats me.
And it's because of you that I feel so ashamed to be an American.
born in the usa
That pretty much sums up the average American's critical thinking in the Middle East. Have another doughnut mate, your head must be hurting by now.
Please express your thinking here ( besides the non-related remarks)..makes no sense why another country wants to end a peace treaty now that they got a so-call freedom!
Well, wait and see how it works out.
We shouldn't assume that just because they want to end a treaty, it means they want to go to war with Israel.
It could be just a diplomatic thing, maybe they want to cut some ties with Israel. That doesn't mean they are going to start marching tomorrow.
So calm down.
because they see Israel, with US support, as the oppressor of fellow Arabs ( ie Palestinians )...
Dear European Criminal:
the europeans are the greatest "wolves in sheeps clothing" to walk the face of the earth. whatever they say is usually a 2 faced lie.
Cheers mate, I'll drink to that !!
Mr butters..your talking about yards of land..not miles and miles..its a non-factor! And the killing goes both ways..stop the BS!
born in the US every action has an equal and opposite reaction, Israel's actions lead to the creation of hamas, hizballah and the hate towards it and the west, i agree why dont we stop the BS. the only way forward now is to put all this behind us and try to work towards a fair two state solution both sides need to compromise like hell, but i would expect more compromise from Israel since it started this mess and is far more powerful.

post 21.9 could not have said it better about my country PALESTINE, not territory. Simple.
Slight problem.
Palestine was NEVER a country.
Never was, never will be.

Most of those dictators were installed and/or supported by the American/Israeli oligarchy.
Mubarak? Supported by America.
Ben-Ali? Supported by America.
The Middle East, through it's rulers, has been a pawn of the West for a long time.
Are they pissed off? Yeah.
Are there better solutions? You betcha. But the oligarchs aren't interested.
The best thing for Middle East would be for Israel and America to reclaim their rogue governments.
And btw, Israel is by no means a democracy.
Neither is America
the europeans are the greatest "wolves in sheeps clothing" to walk the face of the earth. whatever they say is usually a 2 faced lie.
Ben - Israel has never been a friend to America. It has always been a one way street. Israel is a user nation.
I'm sure the US apologized for having the Ship there in the first place and paid Israel for the weapons used to sink it
Mopared..think..they have NUKES! Be nice with others with NUKES!
europeans are IDIOTS...........
Thats why the British hate being called Europeans ( which they are not).
