Learn what? How failed drug policies work? Reread the article: Malaysia is the new Methamphetamine hub despite their harsh sentencing. They're killing of drug dealers has done nothing to stem the demand.
I dont think judicial punishment is there to stem or curb behavior, but to punish those found guilty of crimes. We in the U.S. have the most people incarcerated in the entire world, would anyone think we should consider letting those people free because jail certainly is NOT a deterent to crime.
I also have to question "learn what?" The Death penalty for drug dealers in Malaysia has been in force for more than a decade. Even so they are described as a hub for meth making. It hasn't slowed them down a bit. So when you start babbling about "learning from Malaysia" maybe you should think before you talk.
WMG-21.........you think that Malaysia is "the meth production capital of the world" because this writer tells you so? Consider the source. Perhaps the writers real intent is to trash the idea of capital punishment. Consider reading more articles from different authors.
The death penalty has been in effect for a good amount of time, but their government agencies are even less effective in catching the individuals than us. So if criminals don't fear being caught, then the death penalty isn't that big of a deterrent. So such a penalty would work better in a system with more efficient criminal investigations. What I would question is a having death penalty be the first penalty, maybe instead for two-time offenders.
@Robert-2589118 & WMG-21,
Could you two please elaborate on the benefits of sustaining these criminals in prison for years?
Hypocrites. They write extensively about the drug trafficking by a few immigrant Mexicans cooking up meth as well as corruption and theft of seized drugs by Malaysian policemen when Southern California is the drug capitol of Western USA protected and operated by the same kind of low-life policemen.
There is no question the illegal drugs and other resources of "high life" in Hollywood and LA come from south of the border. The real question is how these drugs and resources have managed to infiltrate and inundate southern California despite massive and generous funding of local police departments under the War-on-Drug federal programs. The only logical answer is that local cops are corrupt and reselling seized illegal drugs or in the alternative, are secret members of drug trafficking organizations. In effect, local cops have become syndicates for the drug cartels.
There's a positiver side to the local-California-cop-turned-drug trafficker syndicates. By facilitating the orderly distribution of cocaine, meth, heroin, and cannabis, the Southern California cops are steering California cities from the indiscriminate drive-by shootings, wanton killings, and gruesome executions associated with drug turf wars such as those seen in Juarez, Mexico.
On the negative side as drug profit reaches billions of dollars per year, all drug traffickers and their stooges ultimately get greedy and plunge the cities into battlefields for market dominance. The Battle for Southern California is imminent. Southern California is doomed.
Learn what? It is from this country alleged cocaine was/is packed in an empty stereo case by Japanese corporate gangsters and shipped to the US like every other electronic products. Except that when it enters LA port and moved to warehouses they knew what box contains the cocaine by serial numbers. That used to be the case in 1990's and early 2000's. If that is still underway I do not know. Sometimes they schedule truck high jacking plot to divert the product and get double pay. They get the drug in to distributors and claim insurance for stolen goods as well.
PHILIP----- Have you traveled in Asia ? I'll tell you one thing -In singapore they'll put you to death for drugs. Now while almost anything is possible in this day and age I think if convicted and likely so these hermanos will either be put to death or if super fortunate will get 10 years or more in Malaysias jail. And these malaysians won't lay down like the sissy United States for them. There wont be any Mexican Gang that runs their prision to help them out. If the Malaysians really have the goods on them they are done.
"If convicted, they face Malaysia's mandatory sentence of death by hanging for drug trafficking."
The REAL solution to the drug war... sounds excellent to me. Hang the drug traffickers, no more prison sentences, instant hanging, make it quick too, none of this waiting around for years.
With all the murders going on in Mexico... the bloodbath of children having a simple birthday party, the people pulled from a bus to be systematically shot...
This is the effect our money is having in funding the murderers. If you are wondering who is funding these murders, the money comes directly from the illegal sale of drugs in the United States.
So, each time you light up, remember what you are supporting. Because the sale from the drug money is the only thing that is funding the murders. As such, each time you get your fix, you are the one who is committing murder. There would be no murders without your financial support. And yes, even marijuana is one of the big sellers here.
You can make whatever excuse you want, but in the end, you are still providing money to murderers.
So, I say... Hang the drug dealers, and the traffickers... get the job done.
I don't do drugs but your argument doesn't hold water. If drugs were manufactured/grown /controlled /taxed and monitored in their country of origin you just wouldn't have the violence associated with the Mexican Cartels you'd still have some problems but miniscule in comparison. Didn't you read the article. Malasia is the Hub of drugs. So hanging everyone won't solve the drug problem either.
1) - The malaysian government has no problem breaking the law itself.. The government itself recommends copying intellectual propertys and software to local biz'.. this is just one law they like to break.
2) These were not the traffikers, these were the poor saps working for the traffikers.. Death Penalty should be for the bosses only who make the profits.
3) Drugs are big biz and the only way to make it un-profitable and get rid of the traffikers of it is legalize/decriminalize it, collect taxes on it, and use the taxes collected for rehab/healthcare...
Prohibition of drugs has been a massive failure spawning violence, trampling of our constitutionally protected inherent rights and corruption of our political system. At least the people that lived through alcohol prohibition had the common sense to end that nonsense. What happened when they did end prohibition, the gun fights, bombings and other atrocities stopped. What's your excuse?
BTW the state religion in Malaysia is Islam and Shariah law is practiced there to the point that it heavily influences their entire legal system. Instead of minding your own damn business and supporting liberty, its nice to see so many right winged wackos supporting Shariah law for the United States.
Hmmm they must have gotten the wrong coyote but that is 3 less that will come to the U.S. illegally.
To think these 3 are anything less than Cartel is ridiculous. Why would anyone else come to Mexico grab up 3 brothers that weren't smart enough to do anything else than make bricks, wisk them 15,000 km away to a country that has no clue what a taco is and then pay them to guard a building?
These 3 chuckleheads got paid to monitor the drugs and now they will probably get to pay with their lives for being so ignorant. They deserve whatever they get.
The death penalty for drugs will stop drug trafficking like the death penalty in Texas has stopped murder.
But no I don't think meth will ever be made legal and taxed. And why does everyone always compare it to alcohol? Do you think it becoming legal stopped all the killing. Did you miss the truck hijackings and all in the 1970's.
Whatever is made legal(pot) they will just move onto the next illegal drug to make their money. Along with gambling and prostitution.
I don't think the Malaysians believe that the death penalty will curb the manufacturing or distribution of drugs however it does curb overcrowding in their prisons and saves on tax dollars being spent to pay for criminals that are probably illegally in their country in the first place.
Malaysia's system isn't very good if it's now the meth hub of that area. If executing people for drug crimes worked, things should be getting better there, not worse.
From the sounds of it the police tolerate it as an additional revenue stream for themselves.
HHHMMMM, I suppose none of you have ever heard about a fall guy. A fall guy is someone you setup to take the fall for your crimes if caught. Lets see, Mexicans would be a great fall guy if drugs were involved considering all the drug problems in Mexico. Why would Mexicans need to go half way around the world to make and sell drugs when the biggest drug market in the world is next door, you know here in America. Where is the money trail, no one just makes 15 million of drugs out of no where, there would be smaller production needed first to build to that scale, so where did that money go. Also I am so sure that you could not bribe the local cops to fix the case considering they were stealing meth for selves. So before you condemn someone to death just use your little ignorant, judgmental brains first and think, I know it hurts but just try. I love how people condemn others to death, but never realize if society goes that route, they will probably or their kids be condemned to death themselves. Man Hitler would have loved some of you guys.
PS: If I ever did something so bold and bad as to produce that much drugs I would defiantly have a fall guy, its crime 101. And if you don't believe me just talk to you local felon. So are just the Mexicans getting convicted I bet, but what about the kingpin who I know is Asian.
I have serious trouble with this article. In a country where is the rule of sharia indicate dead penalty for drug dealers, means perfectly applicable for that type of crime. When the parties are Mexicans it made a big headlines. What about if these men where US citizens, and they had facing the same penalty. You will see how the media would be rushing to criticize the wrong application of that law. Even they would demonize Malaysia legal system. I would like to see a fair and balanced opinion when we are dealing with real problems worldwide. In my opinion drug criminals should be treated harshly and punished with death regardless of what part of the world are been tried. I think is been a high social price by maintaining this criminals operating freely on the streets and continuing on the rise. These penalties should be applied to anybody who is been caught in the crime period. Absolute no mercy or free rides. As society we should be less permissive and more proactive to reduce this crime to spread to our country and infect our children.
Many Asian countries put the; dealers, manufacturers, and traffickers to DEATH. Thailand places users in jail for up to LIFE. Their jails are over-flowing with drug users... You do not want to go to jail in Thailand...
China EXECUTES more people every year that the remainder of the World Combined. They have less people in jail than the USA, and they still have illegal drug problems...
IMO - Illegal drug users and traffickers should face the death penalty... OK, I will give the user (alcohol included) ONE chance, then Bye Bye...
Steve says: "With all the murders going on in Mexico... the bloodbath of children having a simple birthday party, the people pulled from a bus to be systematically shot..."
So if drug traffickers are that ruthless now Steve, how ruthless do you think they will be if they know they will face execution if caught and convicted?
The "War on Drugs" is a failure and like Prohibition in the 1930's is causing far, far, far more problems than it is solving. legalize all drugs and let the stupid fools who want to take them have all the cheap drugs they want. That will kill off idiot drug users faster and the rest of us will have a better world to live in.
You better be carefull about the "learning" because mistakes happen and you can find yourself at the end of a noose on your neck. Since Project Innocence started in US many people had been exonerated by DNA, because mistakes happen, but how about the ones already executed?
Sorry Khaled........most Americans could care less if they were Mexicans, US or Canadian citizens.
Unlike most Muslims, I can think for myself. BTW...It seems ironic that Muslims will kill somebody over the burning of a Koran but applaud the destruction of Buddhist statutes in Afghanistan? That's what your God wants?
Why are heroin and meth so much more costly in Australia than in the U.S? The answer to that is the State of Singapore and the Islamic Republic of Malaysia. Both of those countries have a mandatory death sentence for drug being involved in the drug traffic or having something like 200 grams of this stuff in their possession. If convicted they are allowed two appeals. This case will take a little longer than if home nationals were involved because these brothers are from a foreign country where English is not the language used in civil and criminal legal proceedings. Therefore, the Mexican Consul will have to be provided with all relevant transcripts in Spanish for their review and to be used in the interest of acertaining that these 3 bros. get a fair trial. If convicted, they will be allowed two appeals that will be denied. For those that do not know that asided from Singapore and Malaysia having a zero tolerance for the drug traffics because it ruins lives - there is no possible way that these Mexican gentlemen did not know of that reality. To begin with, that admonishment appears in bold in just about every language that go through a consular application for a visa to enter either country. So unless these men were illegal aliens to Malaysia they would have had a visa to enter Malaysia and to leave Mexico by air. Secondly, at the airport visitors are informed of the mandatory death sentence for being involved in drug traffic in any manner whatsoever. Also, while in Malay air space all foreign vacationers, those on business, those with visas must fill out a customs declaration and the mandatory death penalty for drug traffic activity is there in printed in the language of the country that these bros. came from. Moreover, signs of that warning are all over the airport and intermittently on billboards all over the cities. One might very well see a billboard proclaiming "DADA IS DEATH" ("Dada" means illegal drugs in Malay) next to a billboard that advertizes the merits of Bridgestone Tires.
In short, if these three bros. are found to be guilty and after their two appeals that will only uphold the guilty verdict, if you will, "los tres hermanos" are truly screwed. They will then be taken to the prison in Penang to await death by hanging. Outside of the prison are coffin makers and undertakers that advertise their services and offer the best prices on return of the remains of those executed by air common carrier "at the best prices currently available." They will, while awaiting hanging, be allowed visits by Catholic clerics (I presume that the Mexicans are Catholics?) if they desire, their attys., visits from Amnesty International, Canadians Against the Death Penalty,, and maybe even the ACLU and from the Holy See reps. Their family members will have the right to visit them prior to their execution if some kind pesrsons will purchase their air fare (round trip, as Malaysia requires a round trip ticket) and hotel accomodations. Fast food and regular meals near the prison are very good and quite reasonable. If you are ever there and love seafood--try the "LAXHA" as it is the most delicious seafood porridge on earth!!!
Then they will be hanged. Leaders of various Western countries will send polite diplomatic mail delivered protests written on MS Word. Pope Benedict will give his "sincere pedophile prayers and two centavos worth of please to spare these criminals and the Holy See's diplomatic priests will be politely rec'd. by Malay govt. and diplomatic officials and accorded a "reasonable audience time before being given the bum's rush."
They will be executed a@ 0600 on an undisclosed day of the week. Their deaths will be painless as the hangmen are skilled, they use seven loops on the noose and position it above the sinus of the left ear. The hanging ropes (that are re-used) are made of the finest Manila hemp, boiled, oiled, and static tested regularly so that they don't stretch during the procedure. Lastly, the hangman weighs each man several days before the hanging and uses the weight of each condemmed inmate in conjunction with the Standard Bristish Table of Drops to ascertain that the actual death is instant and painless. For humane and diplomatic reasons the Malay govt. does not want them to be decapitated or twirl around squaking like chickens!
Their final meal the night before will be anything that they desire up to the value of $11.00 USD so trust that their last meal will be really good. However, Malaysia is an Islamic Republic, therefore the "three amigos" won't be able to order any "pork carnita," although they do have Mexican resturants and "food stalls" in that country. However, their "last feed" will be by any standards very good."
The best part of it is that the world will be rid of three more rotten filthy drug traffic type mofos.
Ya know, I always thought these guys were good swimmers to get across the lower Rio Grande but I'm really impressed now! Swimming the Pacific ocean took real cojones!
Rattus, that was VERY long winded but still +1. Very good for them fools to die. regardless of thier innocence, they will die. Now for the home front, maybe, if people know more about the risks (and the clear message from the drug lords that folks sent on these types of missions are nothing more than cannon fodder), they will risk death at home instead of almost certain death abroad...
@Vernon: If such laws get rid of the "drug problem" then why does Malaysia have a "drug problem"?
@ratus68: Brilliant post! Factual, amusing and cynical. I loved it. I just got back from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and I can confirm that $11 USD will buy one an excellent meal there. I am not sure if the Three Amigos will truly enjoy it though, what with anticipating that dessert will be a hemp necktie.
Very well stated. Nothing like truthful facts to help one gain sobriety.
The Elephant in the Room: The manner in which functioning drug addicts have destroyed children, families, and a way of life (civilization). Singaporeans detest when things run amok.
Why mortgage your life to someone who may be secretly addicted.
Did the workers who built my home use drugs? One friend found a contractor in his garage w/a female companion.
Finding a clean and sober musician to collaborate with is not easy nowadays.
Google the annual total of school teachers busted for ________(fill in the blank).
The list goes on.
The pols are paid to maintain this continuum as they continue to pay social welfare benefits to addicts.
Instead of feeding addicts, and paying their rent so they can buy more drugs, give them NOTHING, except free in-patient rehab.
Then, employers would have a healthier pool of candidates from which to choose.
Oh boy, who here has actually heard of common sense?
Common sense of the day: if you make something illegal, and then have more people die by having it illegal then legal, then make it legal again.
The problem is that the stuff is illegal. We whine and complain that "AHHH my sister was murdered in LA by some drug gangs shooting at each other!" and then continue to make the drugs only available by having those said gangs continue that said course of action. The people who would hurt themselves by "getting high" can find the stuff anyway, it is really not that hard. We are not saving anyone, only giving more reasons to kill others.
Lets look at it, the day drugs become legal: 1. All drug cartels fall apart instantly, 2. no reason for shootings to occur over drugs by cartels protecting their reasources, 3. no other deaths occured in relation to persons using, selling or making drugs in order to avoid arrest, 4. less people in prisions to cater for, 5. excessive funds spent around the globe on police and anti drug officers are no longer required, 6. those who are not logical enough to not use drugs have a higher chance of dying and therefore a lower chance of spreading the act, 7. less time spent on arguing this issue on ever venue on the internet, 8. the media will actually have to spend time finding more intuitive and usefull stories to fill the void, 9. teenagers will no longer have to avoid school or "the big man" because of fear of arrest, 10. we can spend less money on destroying drugs and more on preventing those who would get them anyway from using them.
If the goal is to save our people who use them from negtive effects of these drugs, then why are we making it more self promoting to cause negitive effects to everyone? Our laws don't help, they only make hate.
Perfectly logical, and makes sense to anyone with common sense.
If the cartels pay $$$ to pols, who in turn, vote to give social welfare benefits to confessed drug addicts, who then purchase drugs from dealers, who pay $$$ to the cartels that supply the drugs, why should they vote to make less $$$..?
Thats the story of mexico they have 7-20 children per couple in country which was over populated a 100 years ago and unlike los pepes in columbia the only ones who have any cajones are the drug dealers. I would suggest that the us send introops but it would not help its way to late for that anyway it would become a vietnam or afghanistan no way to tell the good guys from the bad and if you cant do that theres nothing to win
What do Republicans and democrats have to do with this? It isn't America. What does planned parenthood have to do with this. They are Catholic. Why does MSNBC put a story about Mexicans and Malasia in the U S news section. This is world news. MSNBC not all Mexicans are from America.
3. As in most Third World countries the infant mortality rate has historically been high, so you have lots of children hoping enough will survive,
4. Like most Third World countries they have no retirement plans or pensions; you have lots of children so there will be someone to look after you when you are old.
Jhereck------You've provided A perfect demonstration that if one thinks small (my father and grandfather did it like this so it must make sense)or that their actions have no consequences or repercussions they are doomed. Mexicans are doomed for their own lack of ability to think outside the box.
Did you miss the part in the article that stated that Malaysia is the methamphetamine capital of Asia? Their spartan drug laws have done absolutely nothing to stem the tide. What a waste.
How do you know their laws have done absolutely nothing ? I`m sure the death penalty there has changed the minds of SOME !! How many drug arrests were made in that country last year ? Now compare their arrests with the amount of people that were arrested here in the states during the same time. I`m not just pointing out that country, look at other countries around the globe. Where they are serious about crime. We have the best and most powerful country in the world. But we have serious problems too. And I dont think that will ever change until we admit what the underlying issue is. Greed. Only when we admit who is really behind the drug trade in this country will we ever rid oursleves of this plague. But thats just it is`nt it. That day will never come.
The problem isn't so much greed as it is opportunity. The user is issued a slap on the hand and sympathy. That creates a market for the supplier to fill. No users equals no suppliers it's as simple as that.
WMG21...Absolutely NO waste at aLL !! I look at it (death by hanging ) as a definitive deterent in Malaysia. I could even be argued that WITHOUT this, the trade and scourge of the meth trade in Malaysia may be even worse than it is now. So, when will the US adopt a similar deterent policy? Probably never! Too many vested interests groups from law enforcement ...all the way to the "top" ... would be effected advirsely. Money, my friends ...money.
But, it would be nice to see this class of scum swinging from the gallows ...and I don't care what side of the border the hail from... or their social status.
Drug dealers already face a high risk of being killed by their competitors. When you factor in the sheer amounts of money to be made a death sentence is probably not much of a deterrent.
They don't have the death penalty as a deterrent. They have the death penalty because they are pragmatic: It is far cheaper to hang a convict that feed and house him for the rest of his life.
Busted in Asia for drug running? Oh, bad idea. Some asian countries do the life sentence approach. Given the spartan conditions of most asian prisons, death may be the kinder sentence.
Yeap, we should "out source" our courts and prisons to the Asian Muslim Countries, might worth bargaining "fore," seems how Corporations have "out sourced" most of our jobs, wonder how the "financial crooks" would do under Muslim justice, snicker.
Jensen you are a sicko. Who clearly does not believe in justice or the Constitution. Do you have a drop of real American blood in you, you sound like a communist.
Yep, in fact I do have a Chi-Com issue SKS and AK-47 clip, that I brought back through LAX (think somebody called me a Baby Burner) from a tour in Nam. Seems like I did get a transfusion from a Gook, (NVA), think he was a Communist, but he saved my life. Could show you my Disabled Veteran's Plates with a Wheel Chair on them, or you could talk to my VA Doctor, at 208-422-1000, Psyche Ward 2. Had to go in for a IV drip, the other, so they didn't have to amputate my hand, but will be sure to have that American blood test, actually you got my curiosity up, might have turned Commie, my liver is getting kind of yellow.
Hopefully justice is handled fairly and rightfully. Asian countries are not very much welcoming to westerners and especially Africans. Just to discourage people from going there they usually set people up in drugs even if you do not know jack. There was AUSI lady once who had such drama and AUSI had to work hard to insure her safety in President Obama's second Country Indonesia.
It still all boils down to genetics, doesn't it? Hitler wasn't all wrong. Not everyone should breed. These probably-Catholic parents had nine sons -- and God knows how many daughters. MY DOG DIDN'T HAVE THAT MANY IN HER TWO LITTERS! As a Catholic writing this on Easter Sunday, I really don't give a damn about who reads this and objects. If the Catholic Church wants them to breed like rabbits, then let the Catholic Church support them with a decent education so they don't have to break the law, and and the Catholic Church can provide them with anything else they might need. Personally, I took a vow myself a few years ago: not to give another penny to the Catholic Church. The world is grossly overpopulated. There isn't even enough clean air to go around. Every breath we take already has been breathed by someone else. Third World people contribute nothing, and take everything. They leave a major carbon footprint with every breath they exhale. They destroy the rain forests in South America to support their herds of children; and, in Africa, they are too stupid to tend the land properly, resulting in climate ravages during severe weather conditions. As for this family, let's turn loose Planned Parenthood on them. And as for their sons: HANG 'EM HIGH!!
How come you did not mention what catholicism is most famous for. Creating pediophile priests which make a mockery of the whole religion. The Pope a Dope king of the catholics uses baseball rules to handle the priests. 3 rapes and you are out. Im my area of Southeastern, PA 33 priests have been indicted for raping and sodomizing little boys. After all this was going on, the athletic director of Archbishop Carroll High School in this region was just snared going after an older student. The student or former student had called the athletic director to see if he could get some things out of his locker. The athletic director said only if he would be his "Sugar Baby". One thing led to another with internet notes, until a detective started to answer for the boy. When a meeting was set up, the director was arrested. The only thing I see coming out of this, is that this guy did not try to go after a little boy.
When I see catholics picketing at abortion clinics in some places, I now see counter protesters carrying signs which read "Catholics are against abortion so that are more little boys available to rape.
Think about it. If these priests really believed in God or Jesus, which probably taught them that they would go to hell if they did things like this, they would have done it. No Way. They just laugh at the fools that attend their churches. They believe in Catholicism to the extent of getting their collection pots filled by the ignorant sheep that follow them. They know the whole Jesus thing is a joke.
wow., blatant racism. and no attempt to even hide it and no fear of being banned.
as for over population, using up world resources and polluting the environment., maybe the world would be better off with fewer people., people like you.
the world will come to an abrupt and violent end soon enough and we will all thank YT for that when it happens.
I have suggestion for you about your concerns in regards the air previously being breathed by some one else. Warp a plastic bag around your head and seal it with duck tape, that way the air you will be breathing would not contaminated by other human being.
Hey!!! it will kill you in less than 5 minutes, but I dont not give a DAMN about it.
SHAME ON YOU! You call yourself Catholic, yet you spout vituperations like this? Hang 'em high? I hope you precede them to the gallows you small-minded insignificant waste of space!
Know who Montezuma was? He was a Aztec Emperor, he/they were the biggest mass murders in the history of the world, they did it for sport. Pure Evil, they were born that way. They were also, not poor. Guess who those people are today? Just look at Mexico today, any correlation (statistical relationships between two or more)?
Well with this family hung there will be 1,2 million less in the world in 50 years....
So you must live in a nice little gated community, far far away from Texas, were I live. You have no idea what this blood line is like, as a whole (not all)???
Do you.
you are right, I am a racist, I judge a race by the historical deeds.
what a sad story. poverty and drug cartel is so "fatefully" sad and deadly. The brothers had jobs and they left it for an easier life of dope manufacturing... guilty?
Perhaps you may wish to look at it from the perspective that the so-called illegal drug laws - especially in the USA - are contrived to allow a symbiotic relationship between the pusher/users and those that purport to enforce the law...money makes the world go around ...attorneys, prosecutors, judges, law makers,, etc, all feed off this scum, then release them, re-arrest ...vicious, often deadly, cycle.
We will wait for you to finish doing our manual labor for us, then when there is no need for you wetbacks we will destroy your whole country. It will take about 12 minutes. We will wait till there is a nice wind blowing torwads South America. One question, was the mule your father or your mother
Just think of the revenue citys could take in with public hangings!Step right up folks and buy your tickets too see this rapist or meth producer get their neck snapped! In fact ,have grand finalies where you spend a three hour show of hanging societys dirtbags!Sounds like such an easy solution,{ Huh America}?
Are you people idiots? Nations where they severely punish the drug trade and "wage war" on drugs, remain hot beds of drug related activity. Yet good, old-fashioned black and white statistics prove that decriminilization not only reduces the population of non violent offenders that you, the idiot screaming to hang drug offenders, pay to house, but reduces the overall number of users. Most of the violent crime in this nation stems directly to the ILLEGAL drug trade... so if you regulate the trade, and take the ILLEGAL portion out, where is the violence? Why can't we, as a nation, learn from nations with a succesful drug policy? I'm no hippie... red voting, gun toting, Texan... but Christ Almighty people... there are successful policies enacted in the European Union that are proving a criminal war on drugs is not the answer... and they are making leaps and bounds in progression in as little as 3-4 years.
Won't happen. The "christians" that control this country will never allow the legalization of drugs. Hell, they are still working on taking away our current rights that don't meet their "god fearing christian" definition.
"God fearing" is such a funny way to describe your devotion to a "loving" God?
It's really a pointless argument... I live smack in the middle of one of the most conservative states in the nation, with a wildly liberal capitol... (go figure). You can't argue with a braying ass. I can't really align myself with any political party, honestly, because they all have it wrong... and although I'm not saying my way, or anybody else's, way is just right for us, but we are obviously not leading the way in successful drug policy. Why don't they all just keep eating their prescription pain killers and put themselves into a Xanax induced time lapse (legal, right?), and let people with functioning brains do the tough thinking.
Sorry, but that is just a blatant lie. Even in nations where drugs are legal, there is violence.
Firstly, who cares about pot and what they do with it. It is much safer than alcohol
Secondly, heroin, cocain, and meth should never be legal. I can count the meth heads I know that have been productive members of society on one finger, and he/she had no disposition (most likely genetic) to addiction. While the anti-meth commercial are a stretch, its not like the reality is even remotely good.
Agreed, Endo....the problem is with the "harder" drugs. You may argue (to a point, correctly) that these users will simply kill themselves off and over time society will simply become smart enough not to use if it's readily available and legal by watching these people self-destruct, but in the meantime the collateral damage will be significant. Probably nowhere near as significant as it is NOW, but still significant. Legalizing things of that level would be unwise, and detrimental to society IMHO. However, as science and technology are NOW, legalizing pot across the board carries it's OWN problems.
That's probably my only arguement against legalizing marijuana...you can't test to see just "how high" someone is, not like a breathalizer to tell how drunk someone is. If there were a way to regulate that (sorry, you're too high to drive) then my final resistance would be - happily - gone. It has many medical applications, and IMHO should be regulated like cocaine and opiates are regulated - for approved medical purposes only, with a prescription needed. But full legalization, without a means of monitoring and control, is just as unwise.
In Malaysia, "No" means "No". This makes me believe that Malaysia's no nonsense and zero tolerance policies towards drug production and distribution is more practical than our current policies and a much better solution thanlegalization.
Strict enforcement and death sentences sound impressive until you realize that such convictions would never stand for the syndicate bosses, corrupt police, and well-connected politicians at the top of the drug supply chains.
most america is on some caffiene HIGH sugar HIGH .etc..drug use is everywhere.advertised on t v all the time.its time for the Hypocricy to end.i mean murder for the suppliers of HIGHS..FIRST murder the coca cola suppliers whom supplies all your CRAVES then we can talk about the others.as jesus says dont look at the twig in anothers eye when you have a plank in your own
I find it deliciously ironic that those in the United States who call for "learning from Malaysia" in regards to hanging drug traffickers probably also fear "Sharia Law" being implemented in America, when Malaysia's harsh drug penalties stem from the strong influence of Sharia law in that country. But oh well.
Not really. There are two legal systems functioning in parallel in Malaysia, and Sharia law (in Malaysia) is only applicable to Muslims. I actually live in Kuala Lumpur, so I can speak with some intelligence on this point. Just down the road, Singapore's drug trafficking laws are just as strict, if not more so... and there is no Sharia law in that country. Malaysia's drug trafficking laws and penalties are secular, not Islamic. Penalties are meted out for these offenses in the secular courts here, not the Sharia ones.
What we could learn in the U S from Malaysia is this: when you go to another country, you are accepted to adopt to their standards, not have them adopt to yours. Stories of foreign nationals being sentenced to death in for drug related crimes are nothing new. The Malaysians don't pussy foot around. It is a country that not only doesn't support drug trafficking, but race baiting. Hucksters like the "Reverend" Al Sharpton wouldn't stand a chance there. There are three major groups on a tiny peninsula, now Iranian immigrants. They don't need the agitation of folks like Sharpton, who still hasn't apologized for having a white man falsely accused of rape. The Chinese dominate there in business and if someone can't accept that, they aren't free to speak about it. If folks can't adapt to the dominant religion or legal system in another country, they should stay home or find a place with a more similar way of life.

10Klakes ..Perhaps, just perhaps a modified form of "Sharia Law" for VIOLENT drug traffickers - you know, the repeat offenders who shoot up the neighborhood, the "drive by" terrorists, the cop killers, the scum MN simply rotates thru the justice system... A length of rope had its place in the justice system, for the appropriate crime.
will it be on TV I just can't wait t osee those drug dealing pinatas swinging in the wind maybe it will be on pay per view. We should do the same here in the U.S. it would be a great reality show hang a dealer
It'll never happen in Mexico because Mexico has no death penalty and the U.S.A. politicos like OBOMBA only are allowed to receive Mexican Cartel murderers via extradition under Calderons condition that they not receive the death penalty. And I'm talking about Murdering Cartel criminals not just those convicted of Drug trafficking. Politicians onlylike to enforce he laws that benefit themselves
What exactly is a redneck? Anyone that doesn't think like you? People want to see these international meth dealers dead for spreading poison. Is that really redneck?
We need to learn from Malaysia!
They already do in the name of over crowding. Unfortunately they let out the very violent rather than the non violent.
They already do in the name of over crowding. Unfortunately they let out the very violent rather than the non violent.
that is all well and good but if you get caught. you have to ask is it really worth my life to be stupid.
I also have to question "learn what?" The Death penalty for drug dealers in Malaysia has been in force for more than a decade. Even so they are described as a hub for meth making. It hasn't slowed them down a bit. So when you start babbling about "learning from Malaysia" maybe you should think before you talk.
Arizona Tumbleweed you could always move there, although I think they look at gun toting rednecks the same as drug dealers.
No you idiot, Malaysia is worse than us. Sure, we send people to prison for drug offenses; Malaysia executes them.
I support the death penalty for the worst violent offenders, but drug "offenders" shouldn't even be in prison because drugs shouldn't be illegal.
We need to stop this "war" on drugs altogether, and hope the rest of the world will follow.
@Robert-2589118 & WMG-21,
Could you two please elaborate on the benefits of sustaining these criminals in prison for years?
How many REPEAT OFFENDERS do they have. One gone is one less you have to worry about..
So the Malaysian drug dealers get dumb people from other parts of the world to do the dirty, dangerous work for them.
The lure of the 'fast buck' was just too much for the Mexicans.
If we had the same laws here we wouldn't have a drug problem, just trying to find room to plant the dealers.
Excellent, I'd sure like to go and help out......the hangman that is. However, I'd insist on a cup of that Marisco Sopa primera.
Completely untrue, just look at them and their laws. they haven't helped, they're still producing mass amounts of drugs.
AND, healthcare costs would no longer skyrocket.
The list goes on.
You mean, now they can't slip in here to pick fruit?
Hahahaha
Wow, dad had nine sons. No wonder three of them had to leave to find work elsewhere. Too bad it was in the drug trade.
How many places more can we sent troops to?
What do Republicans and democrats have to do with this? It isn't America. What does planned parenthood have to do with this. They are Catholic. Why does MSNBC put a story about Mexicans and Malasia in the U S news section. This is world news. MSNBC not all Mexicans are from America.
Mexicans have lots of children because:
1. They are good Catholics,
2. They are poor and birth control costs money,
Horah for Mylasia !!! Dont let your country end up like ours !!
Serve them right.
Amen brother.
You guys ever see Idiocracy?
Yes....he was just here and looking for you.
It's a womb, ladies, not a clown car.
You are without a doubt the biggest moron to have ever posted.
@The Truth Is in Genetics
wow., blatant racism. and no attempt to even hide it and no fear of being banned.
as for over population, using up world resources and polluting the environment., maybe the world would be better off with fewer people., people like you.
the world will come to an abrupt and violent end soon enough and we will all thank YT for that when it happens.
I hope you precede them to the gallows you small-minded insignificant waste of space!
overpopulation will be solved by the zombie apocalypse
I smell (through my computer) a bumpkin!
hahahahahaha...I guess you should not be wearing the clothes on your back since they were made by those third world people.
SEEEEEE YA!!!!
WOULDN'T WANT TO BEEEEE YA!!!
You are an embarrassment to the human race.
Isn't it funny that you can rant and rave like a true racist looney - and it's ok!
But say the F word a couple of times and it's ... bye bye post!
So you must live in a nice little gated community, far far away from Texas, were I live. You have no idea what this blood line is like, as a whole (not all)???
Do you.
you are right, I am a racist, I judge a race by the historical deeds.
Don’t Judge Me Based On The Color Of My Skin, But On The Content Of My Character- Martin Luther King Jr.
I DO.... I BLOODY WELL, DO!
The Truth Is in Genetics
So much compassion on Easter Sunday - what do you do the rest of the year? Do you feel better now?
The meek shall inherit the Earth.

You are so perfect...
Naughty, naughty, naughty
What about the Malaysian cops caught on video stealing the evidence? Any word on when they will be hanged?
No. Like their counterpart American cops, they will be reprimanded and promoted or given a desk job for life.
isnt this interesting. what a way to put an end to the manufacture of meth. leave it up to the asians to lead the way. good job, hang um high.
what a sad story. poverty and drug cartel is so "fatefully" sad and deadly. The brothers had jobs and they left it for an easier life of dope manufacturing... guilty?
Everyone needs too take FULL responsibilitie for their actions! No crying aloud!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whe are taking over the world!! Soon everyone will be dopeheads and Mexicans will prevail! VIVA MEXICO!!!
Happy Easter Mr. Guzman
Finally, something Mexicans can be proud of.
You shouldn't insult cockroaches like that
We will wait for you to finish doing our manual labor for us, then when there is no need for you wetbacks we will destroy your whole country. It will take about 12 minutes. We will wait till there is a nice wind blowing torwads South America. One question, was the mule your father or your mother
Vance65, you are suspended for a day for violating rule # 5 of the Code of Honor.
Do not make racist remarks.
Just think of the revenue citys could take in with public hangings!Step right up folks and buy your tickets too see this rapist or meth producer get their neck snapped! In fact ,have grand finalies where you spend a three hour show of hanging societys dirtbags!Sounds like such an easy solution,{ Huh America}?
death by victims of drugs !!!!!
"...you can't argue with a braying ass." - I'm gonna steal that, it's well stated and on point.
R-E-D-U-C-E-D violent crime. Reading does wonders.
Looks to me like a very possible case of enslavement by the Mexican Cartel.
A lot more investigation might help us convict the real criminals
In Malaysia, "No" means "No". This makes me believe that Malaysia's no nonsense and zero tolerance policies towards drug production and distribution is more practical than our current policies and a much better solution than legalization.
Strict enforcement and death sentences sound impressive until you realize that such convictions would never stand for the syndicate bosses, corrupt police, and well-connected politicians at the top of the drug supply chains.
Its all great until someone in your family is put to death.
Nick.....you have drug traffickers in your immediate family? I know I don't.
most america is on some caffiene HIGH sugar HIGH .etc..drug use is everywhere.advertised on t v all the time.its time for the Hypocricy to end.i mean murder for the suppliers of HIGHS..FIRST murder the coca cola suppliers whom supplies all your CRAVES then we can talk about the others.as jesus says dont look at the twig in anothers eye when you have a plank in your own
I find it deliciously ironic that those in the United States who call for "learning from Malaysia" in regards to hanging drug traffickers probably also fear "Sharia Law" being implemented in America, when Malaysia's harsh drug penalties stem from the strong influence of Sharia law in that country. But oh well.
You make an excellent point.
Sounds like LAKES doesn't know as much as she thought
Guess you got schooled Lakes!
ThinkforYouself.....thank you for your post . I was misinformed.
I find it deliciously ironic that those in the United States who are calling for "learning from Malaysia" in regards to hanging drug traffickers probably also fear "Sharia Law" being implemented in America, when Malaysia's harsh penalties for drug offenses stem from the strong influence Sharia law has in that country.
TenK, your intellectual dishonesty betrays you.
Lakes post the same thing twice and was just as wrong the second time.
482933. bin smoking that funny stuff again?
will it be on TV I just can't wait t osee those drug dealing pinatas swinging in the wind maybe it will be on pay per view.
Is it me or there alot of dumb @!$%#ing rednecks commenting on this subject.
Of course! They saw the word "METH" in the title!
john-3367628,
it's not you
What exactly is a redneck? Anyone that doesn't think like you? People want to see these international meth dealers dead for spreading poison. Is that really redneck?
