Would be really nice if people could get medical treatment without the hospital announcing they are there!
GEEZ LOUIZE!!!! Why was it more important to mention that Sargent Shriver is Aahnold's father-in-law????????? He's Maria Shriver's father!!!! Is his relationship to his son-in-law more important than his relationship to his daughter, who is arguably as famous than her husband?? Why are unrelated men more important than women who are related? SHAME ON YOU, MSNBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You disgust me.
Decaf, sunshine. Angry much? Life isn't all about being "famous," nor is this news item about the man's children (he has several).
1. It is common press practice to note high ranking govt. officials, especially an in-law that just stepped down from arguably the nation's most influential state. (And Repub in a family of noted Democrats.) Maria Shriver does not have a job, hasn't for some time, and never served the country in any capacity other than wife to the CA gov. Don't like AP policies, rant at them, not a news aggregator.
2. This is pretty much a Beltway story. Sargent Shriver was an appointed govt. employee.
3. Lots of caps, exclamation points and tossing around of "disgust" ... how old are you?
Schwarzenegger was the Governor of California and an internally well known movie star. His wife was a dilettante, light-weight "journalist" - any other questions?
Have a couple extra prunes with your breakfast - constipation's a bitch and you obviously have it bad.

You are absolutely correct! This story is about Sargent Shriver and his family........NOT his son in law!
Maria Shriver is quite famous in her own right and also a member of the Kennedy family! And should definitely have had top press with her father and brother in this article.
Arnold is no longer the governor and no longer an actor and should have only been mentioned as an afterthought as Maria's husband.
Little changes and Francois..............try a few classes in Etiquitte, You might actually learn something.
Associated Press........ should hire some REAL JOURNALISTS.
Sargent Shriver and the Kennedy family have devoted their lives to their country and deserve better than this from the news media.
My condolences to the Shriver family. It would be nice if all those who claim to respect the life and work of Sargent Shriver would find another forum for their political rants. The story, as shown here, is clearly about Sargent Shriver, with Gov. Schwarzenegger mentioned only in the last sentence. I have no doubt that if Schwarzenegger had been a life-long Democrat that no one would been upset with the structure of that sentence.

Sergeant Schriver we wish you well. You spearheaded a government program that eventually led to the decline of poverty in the United States.

Alzheimer's is a horrific disease. My heart goes out to Mr. Shriver and to his family.
Sarge was a man of great energy and ideas aimed at improving the lot of humankind. His enthusiasm was contageous to all around him inclulding the first generation of Peace Corps Volunteers. A decorated WWII combat veteran he dedicated much of his life fostering better understanding among people and working for world peace. His life was well spent. A great American. We need more like him.
Maria Shriver is his daughter... no news organization can change that, even though they'd like to put the emphasis on an ex-governor. AP originated this dumb statement, MSNBC perpetuated the stupidity. What do we expect? We can separate out the junk. Journalists they are not.
I'm sorry for the pain the family bears, navigating a horrible disease. I remember a dignified, vital Sargent Shriver.

How unfortunate that people like Rochelle have to post her rants and poison regarding this article. A kind word would be much more appropriate, Rochelle, or better yet, no post from you at all.
Rochelle made an important and valid point.
No, Rochelle has diarrhea of the fingers. All she thought about was pitching a fit for all to read. After her juvenile, capital letters rant, not a word of condolences to the family she thinks was highlighted on in one sentence and then snubbed in the other. You'd be surprised of the number of under age 30 year olds who have no idea of who Sargent Shriver or Maria are.

Sargeant Shriver actually brought more class to the Kennedys than they ever had on their own. He was a class act and he and his wife adored each other. This is an example of " a life well lived".

Sounds like he has lived a good life. Peace to him and his family as they travel this emotionally rough road.
I am amazed that some of you took the "in-law" statement as a referral to the former Govenor of California. He was known as an "in-law" to JFK and Robert and the Kennedy family. Mr. Shriver was out of politics by the time his son-in-law was elected to office....some of you need a history lesson! He was a gentleman, never heard a taint of scandal, which is unusal in politics. Wishes for a peaceful end to a long life.
