What I find most problematic is that, according to the article, Wikileaks has the name of 15 individuals avoiding taxes by hidding money in Switzerland. For me the problem is that they have had these names for several years and have not released them. Why? If Assange wants to try and hide behind the identity of a journalist he is going to have a tough time convincing a court he is in fact a journalist. A "real" journalist goes after a story and reports it no matter where a trail might lead. By selectively releasing information that suits his needs Assange demonstrates that he is not a journalist, but rather an individual with a personal agenda. Therefore, lock his ass up.
As for the banker's implication that only Wikileaks is capable of releasing the information. B.S., if the information is that important then email it to several major news organizations anonymously and I guarantee said information will see the light of day.
Just the beginning. So many are ready to show the paeons what the world is really like...how reality is skewed....how equality isn't but mere lip service.
We truly are having people stand up for right over might....that shows hope, one more time.
Showing those who hoard only pushes my agenda up the road. Hoarding cannot last, disburse the wealth to the working class.......responsibly and philanthropically, so we all share in a future
Personally, I can't wait to hear what comes of this latest "leak". It's about time that those with money and/or in power have to answer for their malfeasance.
I sure hope Mr. Assange doesn't seek out the services of a fortune teller anytime in the near future because he won't like what he will be told. As in, sorry Julian, but it appears your days are numbered indeed.
Mr. Assange is a egotist seeking to make himself the center of the world, but really all it has done is put a price on his head that gets bigger with every release of private and/or classified documents.
Everyone in the world knows his name and face now and there are those in the upper echelons of society and governments just waiting to pay for the privilege of making him go away. I don't think he will be among the living for very much longer.
Must be nice to be rich eh? Have enough $$ to hire a sleazy accountant to hide your money in off shore accounts and have the GOP get you tax cuts at the same time. Must be nice.
I'm starting to sense that something is brewing in a scope that is worldwide. I think us "common" people are reaching a boiling point where all hell is going to break loose from the screwing we're getting by the mega rich and big corps. that are running this country and many others into the ground and taking us with it. They are choking the life out of us a bit at a time no matter how hard we work to overcome they just tighten the noose a little tighter (prices, taxes) to the point where we just have no life left
I don't understand why any citizen of the world would ever dismiss, ignore, or want to remain in the dark of governments, institutions, organized religions, etc. that are anti-democratically taking advantage of them.
Again, I don't care if WikiLeaks, the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, or janitors at the U.N. expose criminal injustice.
The ends far outweigh the means...for the promulgation of global democracy...who wouldn't want to see global democracy?
Brandon; You are right in wanting to know; however, this is the great game, do not mess with the world banking cartels, they are more power full than all the worlds army's; they can bring down nations overnight; all the worlds major banking systems are all tied together; we in the U.S., just spent 7.5 trillion dollars of taxpayer iou's to bail out the banking derivative and hedge fund markets , most of the money went overseas to cover the short selling; " I care not what group in any nation, is in power, as long as I control the world banking system " Myer Rothschild!
Brandon No, the means do not justify the ends, if you believe that than intellectually you are in bed with the same people you criticize. Buy the way the list will not just include THE BAD GUYS. I wonder what you would do if someone just gave out all your private stuff? Would you cry about how your privacy was invaded, would you cry innocent until proven guitly, would you squeal like a little----? Cast that first stone big boy.
Gut reaction was, I'd like to see names, especially politicians from here, just as proof of corruption, both sides of the aisle, but thought again...
it's not really necessary. Just because I've not personally seen a grizzly doesn't mean they don't exist. Some may need proof, but not here; I have to admit, though, there's curiosity as to whom.
The corporates, the international bankers, etc... well, hell -
My endorsement of the "ends justify the means," with Wikileaks, does not equate me with those who are being exposed...
That would presuppose that the villains promulgate a higher "truth" than the democratic utilitarianism of the people of the world.
No, my "Machiavellianism" parallels that of Dr. Martin Luther Kings' "Letters from a Birmingham Jail."
Dr. NO, you must have some hideous secrets to hide, with regard to your "personal privacy."
I don't.
In addition most Governments and Institutions democratically serve "the people" and are held to a different magnitude of responsibility and transparency.
To compare them to your personal liberties is comparing apples and oranges.
For those of you who don't seem to understand what is going on, the guy gave Wikileaks a list of people and some very limited documentation that did not contain names in 2008. Wikileaks does not post just anything you send them. There was no corroboration
The State Department provided corroboration of the cables before they were ever released.
And so, far, the government of Tunisia has fallen, with Wikileaks being widely cited as the straw that broke the camels back.
You forgot to mention that this is a Republic. We elect leaders to do what they feel is in the best interests of the country, even if that means ignoring the people who elected them. This is NOT a democracy where representatives are committed to doing only and exactly what the majority of the electorate wants.
The Founding Fathers' greatest fear was that the Republic would slide into excessive democracy. They had seen numerous examples of democracy in action in both the Colonies and in Europe. And it always came down to the same thing, in democracies the majority used its power to strip rights from all minorities. Often it was not even a majority doing the stripping, but a coalition of splinter groups with the numerical appearance of a majority. Most often it was just organized mob rule.
Ru, UNFORTUNATELY Switzerland has laws on the books to help protect tax evasion. That is why high worth individuals bank there and in other tax havens designed to keep the wealthy wealthy and other white collar criminals safe. Didn't you know that laws and governments exist as a separating layers between the haves and the have-nots. Offshore banking was developed to confuse the laws between countries. Rich can only exist if 20% of the population can float on top of the backs of the remaining 80% poor. If this potential difference didn't exist then rich wouldn't exist. From the poor to the rich any and all social barriers that can be erected will be erected to continue with the status while those at the top yell work harder and with more intelligence and you can be just like us. I call that economic slavery. The only difference between the chains of yore is that the present chains can not be seen with the naked eyes.
I applaud whistle blowers and Assange's WikiLeaks. Keep up the good work!!!
The guy hasn't given wikileaks anything yet. He gave them a verbal promise to deliver and quite frankly, that isn't worth crap if the guy turns out to be just an idiot that sat amongst a group of journalist wannabes and simply said something to get their attention span for the moment. Had he actually stolen this information and had it, it would have been in hand and have been already sent to wikileaks. I think the guy was simply out to impress the people he found himself amongst at the moment.
AmericansAtWar, Only YOU. Most Americans do not want war and you certainly do not speak for me. Be careful with speech calling for the killing of others. You may get a knock on your door by the FBI or SS.
Your posts are level headed and right on the mark! Saxon your point about the banking system of the world is so true. All you have to do is look at what happened in the US and how it reverberated around the world to know that what you have stated is more true than any other posts on this board. I salute you!
Brandon, thanks for the reply. I like your thought patterns. Nice try, the means still don't justify the ends. You point the finger mighty fast. You say I MUST HAVE HIDEOUS SECRETS TO HIDE! Its not my personal privacy, its everyones. I am no better or worse than anyone else. I just wonder sometimes when some seem to want to their version of instant justice. We used to have that years ago. It was mob mentality, hang'm high. It was called lynching. Lots of innocent people died. That is why that type of behavior is trying to be countered with justice, you know American rule of law. Doesn't always work but its better than some places where they just stone people to death.
saxon, you are willing to demurely surrender to the banking industry?
You must have a lot to lose.
90% of the World Population has literally nothing to lose.
By holding the Investment Capitalism accountable for their 60+ years of extortion....ever since the Bretton Woods Conference...which rigged the system against the poor.
Democratizing the wealth of the world is a human value (in contradistinction to the values of Finance Capitalism itself).
Would I be willing to give up 1/2 of my salary if I knew that all humans beings could at least have shelter, food, and clean water?
In a minute.
I grew up in poverty (which is a strange term for just about anyone growing up in the United States...anyone who has not traveled to 2nd and 3rd World Countries really doesn't understand "poverty").
At Chris, you said, "The Founding Fathers' greatest fear was that the Republic would slide into excessive democracy. They had seen numerous examples of democracy in action in both the Colonies and in Europe. And it always came down to the same thing, in democracies the majority used its power to strip rights from all minorities."
Now Chris just replace a few words, It always came down to the same thing, in modern democracies the RICH uses its power to strip the rights of the poor. Gone for a job interveiw lately, they get background checks, Fbi Checks, Credit checks, drug test, physcials, personal references, previous employer info, work history...and what ever else they want to get on you. They can even censor your freedom of speech at work or on facebook. So is this the republic or a democracy?
And the examples you stated were more like monarchies than Democratic.
Doesn't bother me if everyone finds out who is hiding money in swiss banks. I have a problem with wikileaks in principle for leaking classified US information, and I think they should be prosecuted if possible for that. I just don't have a dog in this fight over a bunch of swiss bank accounts getting published. This has nothing to do with USA national security or USA state secrets and could care less about Swiss banking regulations that have been shielding criminals for decades. To hell with both wikileaks and the Swiss banking industry.
I sincerely hope Wikileaks focuses on the entire banking industry in Europe and America. That would be a huge public service. From insider trading to cooking the books, there is probably a huge amount of information that needs to go public.
When the Republican controlled congress in America wrote and passed the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1999, and the Modernization of Commodities and Futures Act in 2000, they deregulated Wall Street and gave these multi billionaire, multi national banks huge loopholes to exploit. They repealed the Glass-Steagall Act and its regulations to prevent Wall Street giants from forming and regulation on traditional forms of speculation. The commodities/futures legislation opened new directions for speculation and white collar crime. This includes derivatives and related predatory lending. This included the infamous Enron Loophole that enabled the Enron electricity scandal to happen in California. Any random accident that the mastermind behind this legislation was Republican Banking Committee Chairman and ex Enron lobbyist Phil Gramm? Any random accident that Phil left government to work for the Swiss bank UBS, which was just busted for providing offshore banking to rich Europeans and Americans for the purpose of tax evasion?
New forms of white collar crime were invented and spread worldwide. Banks were involved in moving their speculation offshore to unregulated markets to get around regulations imposed in the US and UK.
Before any Republibots come along and say these were Clinton years, Clinton signed off on these bills and a few Democrats voted for them - therefore it is all the Democrats fault, please note that Republicans were the majority, they WROTE the bills with few concessions, and Republicans block voted them into law. Bill was wrong in not vetoing them, but think of all the bills Bush signed with signing statements indicating disagreement. It is extremely dishonest not to fully own this was the REPUBLICAN party in action.
Without these two bills mastermined, written and passed by Republicans plus Alan Greenspan refusing to prevent the housing bubble from bursting, our economic collapse would not have happened in 2008. That white collar crime wave had Republican fingerprints all over it.
Brandon , i understand what you are saying, as far as giving up ; let us be realists, there is nothing you or me can do about the situation, it started in the first decade of the 1800's; it finally came to pass at Brenton woods(you are right on that one); it is so firmly entrenched that the debt= slavery scenario has finally come to it's full conclusion; can we change it, I think not, if the banking system would collapse, it would make the dark ages seem like the age of enlightenment. there is no leader Strong enough to challenge the system; JFK, " we will break up the federal Reserve ," he even started issuing silver certificates, he was killed 6 months later, all silver certificates were withdrawn from circulation !i
I think Elmer has just cause for exposing this, and I am very disappointed in the Swiss courts for their sandbagging.
But, why is he going through WikiLeaks? Why not just go directly to the press? If the press has the documented evidence of guilt, would they be held accountable for some form of obstruction of justice? Just wondering.
What?!! Switzerland will jail a man who exposes criminals? That's a@@ backwards!
Ru, You got to remember that this is where centralized banking was created. i.e. - the Red Shields. So in effect, they're only protecting their own.
"Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes the laws." -- Mayer Amschel Rothschild(Bauer) 1744-1812, Godfather of the Rothschild Banking Cartel
-------- and --------
U.S. authorities are currently trying to build a legal case against WikiLeaks and some of its collaborators, claiming the release of the files puts lives at risk.
And since we have nothing but puppets in the highest ranks of government, they must protect their masters.
Since there has been problems with posting links lately, go to youtube and after the dot-com-slash copy/paste the following and hit return: watch?v=ZPWH5TlbloU
saxon, the Trust-busting, Monopoly-busting Teddy Roosevelts and Franklin Roosevelt's("I welcome their [Banks] hatred.") demonstrate that real change can occur.
In contradistinction to your assertion, we voters are not powerless.
These individuals DID change the course of history and allowed Americans to live in unparalleled splendor (to the present) which the richest of humans have not known for over 100,000 years.
Thus, the fight for Representative Democracy is categorically worth the fight.
Gramm-Leach-Bliley passed both the House and the Senate with very large bi-partisan support.
plus Alan Greenspan refusing to prevent the housing bubble from bursting,
Alan Greenspan created the housing bubble by lowering interest rates to a then record low and keeping them there for an extended period of time. All in an attempt to stop the markets from correcting after the dot-com bubble burst.
Contrary to popular view of a paradise with few problems and its official definition of having a goverment which is a democracy: Switzerland is not as free a country with the level of freedom of speech and legal course of action like here in the United States.
Brandon keep up the good fight, more persons like yourself may make a change; as for Franklin Roosevelt; he was one of them, in 1934 he met with the governors of the Federal Reserve banks, they agreed to print billions in paper non redeemable money, on one condition, ALL GOLD MONEY WAS REMOVED FROM CIRCULATION, THE GOLD ACT WAS PASSED, 10 YEARS IN PRISON TO ANYONE THAT DID NOT TURN IN THEIR GOLD u.s. CURRENCY. they then lend the money back to the government at interest, the other agreement was , social security taxes, the fed controls all social security Treasury bills, , the federal reserve issues bonds backed by social security receipts, then lends to the government at interest, the Government remains in debt forever. ALL INCOME TAX RECEIPTS IN THIS COUNTRY GO TO PAY INTEREST TO THE FEDERAL RESERVE ON GOVERNMENT DEBT !
ru we "the United States is working very hard to jail wili leaks for releasing embarrassing cables so why would you not think that all governments and powerful people and companies won't do the same thing
The wealthy make money when the economy is ticking up or when the economy is ticking down. greenspan had orders to lower the inter-banking interest rates in order to create the housing bubble. Everybody, cheap loans to be had while housing went into short supply, thereby creating artificial high housing prices. He did nothing to stop the bubble from bursting because that is what they wanted. Wallstreet made bets on just that, the economy tanking. Now that the economy tanked, assets can be bought once more at deflated prices. In the mean time, bush set up his banking buddies with OUR tax money in order to make sure that their bets would be paid off while at the same time creating wars to prop up the military industrial machine.
I only have one question, WHEN WILL THE MIDDLE CLASS WAKE UP AND REVOLT?
Middle class pays the price. Middle class pays taxes. Middle class pays interest rates. Middle class dies in wars. Middle class is STUPID!!!!
Middle class is controled TOTALLY by making just enough to buy bread and return to work.
Its the same old, same old talking point and its monotonous. Who WROTE the bill? Republicans. Gramm, Leach and Bliley were all Republicans. Republican block voted for the bill with few exceptions.
As usual, the facts do not get in the way invariably for some Republicans maintaining their delusional parallel universe in which Republicans are not to blame for anything at all while the Democrats are to blame for everything.
Both parties have their issues, but at least the Democrats are trying to protect the economy and the public while the Republicans have been raking in millions of lobbyist corporate dollars for protecting multi billionaire multi national corporations from regulation.
Since Republicans accept no blame, are in denial, and are dogmatically sticking to their pre Great Depression dogma of non regulation, this is an extremely important point. They are ready to do it all over again if re elected to a majority in both houses and the white house. That type of national vote would be a vote for the next recession through the same old, same old process, deregulation.
Do you intentional skip over the parts you don't like or are you incapable of comprehending facts which go against your obvious and extreme partisan hatred?
The bill then moved to a joint conference committee to work out the differences between the Senate and House versions. Democrats agreed to support the bill after Republicans agreed to strengthen provisions of the anti-redlining Community Reinvestment Act and address certain privacy concerns; the conference committee then finished its work by the beginning of November.[8][12] On November 4, the final bill resolving the differences was passed by the Senate 90-8,[13][14] and by the House 362-57.[15][16] This legislation was signed into law by Democratic President William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton on November 12, 1999.[17]
Copied and pasted from your own link.
It makes no difference who wrote the bill, this did not pass along party lines. No matter how many times you repeat this fantasy scenario of yours, it will not make it true.
Realist-502574 @1.17 "Yup, the ends justify the means even if the means were criminal in scope. While Manning spends the rest of his life in military prison. "Wow, now that's justified alright! "Using a wrong to make a right is not right, it is wrong."
Who do you think writes the laws, but the politicians at the beck and call of the rich and powerful? Of course they're going to trump up laws that protect their interests, all in the name of "national security," or corporate strength or just plain personal gain. Just because a law is passed doesn't make its subject ethical, moral or just. History, including a heap of recent history, is strewn full of examples. Bringing malfeascence to public light is not wrong in any fashion regardless of the method by which abuse of power is revealed. We, the little guys who remain powerful only in unity, are thwarted because the powerful are always thinking "out of the box." They get away with it because resistance to their hegemony is most often insignificantly weak. We, the least influential as individuals, must band together to counter the subterfuge of the powerful. They have the bucks, but we have the votes. Support of efforts like WikiLeaks is paramount to our very survival as individuals, as a society, and, indeed, a species.
It's the way that he's going about it that has gotten him in trouble. You can't just hand that kind of information over to the public. Such laws are important because they do protect the rest of us. If his intention was to report a crime, what he should have done is take it to the authorities, in which case he would have been protected.
The Pillars of society, criminals at best, hide with protection behind the various Governments. As many as 40 politicians and over 2,000 high net worth individuals or companies (if not more) could possibly be revealed in this enormous tax evasion going on around the world. While the names WILL NOT be listed, I think everyone has the right to know who is avoiding paying their taxes to the U.S. with those over sea accounts. If it were any of the "Little People" doing the same, the names would be all over the News Media along with their pictures. In addition, they would receive a sentence along with a hefty fine. Finally after so many years, it's about time that officials starting chasing after all those elite criminals for Tax Evasions, while the Swiss banks profited from all those deposits. The laws are not just for most people, while selectively excluding a few privileged elite to break at their whim in order to further their profits at our expense. And it doesn't matter what journalist or publisher, who acts as the whistle blower, as -long-as the facts are valid, and not selective to protect some even more powerful, elite individuals. It's time to stop ignoring and just slapping the hands of the elite for their major crimes committed.
I bet Obamma's buddies George Soros and Warren Buffetare one the list, and probably half of Congress (both sides), half of the U.N. and China's Hu Jantao. The probaly were China buy's off our government politicians at
Perhaps this is the story that will make it clear that borders are a joke. While we scream at each other about immigration - illegal or otherwise - corporations and Big Money have been breaching them for centuries.
Wake the hell up folks. Capital - yes you raging capitalist folk - is nothing more than the physical representation of labor. Period. End of story. The rich cross the borders with that representation of labor to the tune of billions of monetary units - dollars, yen, euros, yuan - each and every day. BILLIONS! But you only see a Mexican crossing the border to earn a few dollars.
Yessssirrrrreee, keep the lower class fighting among themselves, while the rich continue the transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich, thanks to the governments they own and control. We fight over scraps. That's all there is - and upper class and a lower class. Thus has it always been, and thus it shall always be.
And we are to believe Assange is the enemy. Well of course he is. The truth doesn't set us free, it scares the hell out of us.
It is odd reading the rantings of those trying to make this a Republican thing. Democrats have done nothing of substance to change things, the democrat president surrounds himself with former big bank executives which now fill the White House, your crooks forced loans to be made to un-creditworthy recipients in the mid/late 2000's and you want to lay this all at the feet of Republicans.
Funny, but the truth is that greed and selfishness have no party affiliation. Democrats in Congress are richer than their Republican counterparts. The White House employs tax cheats and the boss of the IRS is a noted tax cheat, so it seems both Republican and Democrat are greedy little vermin.
Maybe I'm misinterpretting what you are saying and maybe I'm not. Blaming the legislation on Democrats is dishonest. That's my point. Republicans initiated both bills, and that is primary responsibility. Yes, I fully disagree with the Democrats that voted for it and Bill Clinton signing it. Anyone that knows how Wall Street operates should have known what would happen with deregulation.
I disagree with the Republican concept that Wall Street simply represents the free market capitalism and the concept of non regulation. Our last recession could be better labeled as one of the largest Wall Street white collar crime waves in recent years. The lesson to be learned from Wall Street giants like Lehman Brothers is that white collar criminals cannot be trusted to regulate themselves, from cooking books to fraud.
So Danielle please explain the difference between tax evasion and tax avoidance? Is it like putting off your homework or something till after you watch TV? I think its more like the difference between Murder and Negligent Homicide or Manslaughter, somebody still wound up dead. Calling it something else doesn't make you any less guilty, it just apparently helps you sleep at night, on your fluffy bed, in you large house, in your gated community, with the rest of the Burgiouse.
I am not trying to blame the Democrats or the Republicans for any legislation. It is our two party system and our government (all of them), who are failing us miserably.
I agree that Gramm-Leach-Bliley was/is @!$%#ty legislation, and that Clinton should have vetoed that bill. He should have forced Congress to over-ride his veto, then his hands would be clean.
the cause of the current crisis is much deeper than just blaming Wall Street. Don't get me wrong, there bear a lot of responsibility, but not all of it. Greenspan and the government's monetary policies intentionally created the housing bubble. Ratings agencies put AAA ratings on assets worse than junk. You are also correct about to many former Goldman Sachs employees in both this and previous administrations.
But we can not simply get stacking regulations on top of each other, we need to enforce the regulations that are already on the books. Timothy Giethner was head of the NY Fed during the meltdown. Part of his responsibilities as head of the NY Fed were to regulate Wall Street. He did such a good job we promoted him.
Bottom line is that neither party gives a rat's ass about you or I. They tell us what we want to hear on the campaign trails, then once elected they do something completely different. There are very few pieces of legislation in existence that were passed without vote from both side of the aisle. Both parties are responsible for where we are today, and both side continue to make things worse every single day.
Criminals own the system in question- we just collectively refer to them as "businesses". They've been greatly inconvenienced by the Patriot Act- which made provisions for tracking money once it leaves our borders.
Now, the "offshore account"- the ultimate tax shelter- has come under attack and the wealthiest are furious- and the one who dared hurt them will be persecuted for protecting the rest of us. This whistleblower should be lionized, not jailed- and it's a national shame that our judicial system is so public in its service to the rich and its disregard for any real justice.
Contempt of court under these circumstances is only the logical consequence of the court's contemptible behavior. Perhaps Assange really is the best venue for exposing that judicial corruption to the rest of the world- by revealing what they've so far concealed from the rest of us at the behest of their rich pals.
Tax evasion is where you should legally be paying tax, but are not.
Tax avoidance is where you are using concessions that the government have given you to minimise your tax bill. Such as using your personal allowances and exemptions. They are there for everyone to use, and it would be stupid for you not too. Unless you like paying more tax than you need too.
What Im afraid is going to happen is that the media is going to do is take advantage of the fact that people are uneducated about such matters, write biased nonsense to inflame people, prey of course of the poor/rich divide to incite matters further and in turn make a load of unnecessary trouble which funnily enough will probably end up shooting the average person in the foot.
Two areas have already been brought up in this article which cause people to think of negative connotations because of the press: tax havens and financial structures.
If the wikileak reveals tax evasion/money laundering I of course would hope that something was done about it. It is unacceptable.
Welcome to peaceful revolution. There are no mobs swinging torches and brandishing guns, we are using the truth and knowledge as a weapon. Time to start acting like a country of laws and morals, or is that just lip service to the masses that cannot think for themselves.
The sad thing is that this is one revolution that will go unnoticed as the masses continue to erode their freedoms to ease their fears.
The names where given to the proper people....You guys just forgot about Senator Levin obtaining secret swiss bank accounts of known tax evaders in the beginning of the current administration.
I'm sure that has led to more investigations that are still ongoing by Eric Holder.
He busted the mafia big time just the other day...A lot of progress takes at least 2 years or more.
Some people are crooks... not all people....Get a grip!..It's not that easy to catch big crooks...They have a lot of money and power.
Would only be good for the general public to come to understand how the levers of power operate in our name, particularly since money, the transfer of money, as well as the international arms and drug trade are at the root of all global evils. Still waiting for all those promised Bank of America files, too.
ever notice how those that scream the loudest have more to hide? look at it this way once.
The gov is preaching peoples lives are in jeapordy over the last release, yet who has been killed? puts a small stain on how big gov operates, and boo hoo...
now we have proof gov officials from not just the US, about around the world, have been holding out on taxes, and who is crying? of course, the government. ill be last to say our gov isnt as crooked as a stick, and i think its about time, this whole things gets out in tho open. Tax evasion, $ stashing, secret offshore accounts, all illegal, and one would think, that the governments would be azzhole and elbows running to bring charges, and get this info. yet they shy away from it like a beaten dog in a corner, why is that?
i say bring out the truth.... let the people know who is dirty, and who isnt. see who all screams bloody murder about its release.... see those that have something to hide is what i say.
those people b!tching about dems, and repubs i think will find both sides have little thieves working for us, and if the case, no matter party affiliation, how great they have so called "served the public intrest", should be brought to trial, and put in real prison, like the real criminals they are, not little vacation getaways the special prison for political, and hi profile $$ making offenders, like they have been. Real federal prison stints for those people, who have betrayed the people they server is just as bad as armed robbery, and should be treated as such criminals are.
banking secrecy laws only protect one person, those who have secrets to keep, and why keep a secret if there is nothing to hide?
Amen to this post! People think that the criminals are the ones who pull the trigger. The real criminals are the ones who make the phone call! It is a systemic problem, and the governments around the world surely do not want us to know how much corruption and "acceptable crime" is being actuated within their establishment
[and one would think, that the governments would be azzhole and elbows running to bring charges, and get this info. yet they shy away from it like a beaten dog in a corner, why is that?]
Good point megalodon, it wouldn't suprise me a bit if some of those names belong to the higher-ups in the IRS.
Some of you have felt the end justifies the means, and that only those with secrets have something to hide. I can sympathize. I certainly don't condone illegal activities, tax evasion, or laundering money. If you know that someone is breaking the law you have an obligation to tell the authorities. But I do object to Mr. Assange being the decider in these cases by releasing whatever information he gets, whenever he decides to release it. This is getting to be more and more about his interest in power and fame.
They are very busy removing the names of all those that they don't want exposed. I might be able to get behind this if it were a total dump of files....and let all the chips fall where they may......
The Swiss are freaking out about this because besides Cheese, Army knives and yodeling, secret bank accounts and the gazillions they make off of them is all they got.....oh yeah...they make nice watches too.
I do object to Mr. Assange being the decider in these cases by releasing whatever information he gets, whenever he decides to release it
OK, but if not him, then who? Whatever his personal motives/agenda in doing this, thank @!$%# he is doing it, because nobody freaking else was, were they? You do it, if you have such a problem with Assange.
Article stated the man admitted he released discs to several in the media. Where are the stories?Therein is the truth that rich people control the media. They have their trolls complain about the liberal media all the time but that is just to deflect the real ogre behind what we read and that is the filthy rich folks who prey on honest good hard working men and women.
Right there with you on this one. Sure, there's privacy, there's this and that... but this in idealic and common sense terms blows that out of the water with all that's going on, especially here in the States.
As I'd stated in an earlier post, we all know politicians from both sides are guilty as hell and vested in corporo-government interests; it's why nothing meaningful ever changes no matter who is at the helm. But now, in this case and heated environment, I'd REALLY like to see names- - it may turn civil unrest against eachother into civil unrest, united, against government.
I agree with you. If we can get past the banality of arguing whether the tweedle dee or the tweedle dum party is the worst and realize that they're both tweedle parties, then maybe we can go after the real culprits - the banks, big corporations, and our government that enables them!
what i dont understand is why all seem to favor wikileaks giving out this info, but not the lies and underhanded dealings of the politicians. where is the difference. i say "out" them all.
Why would you tell the authorities, when they are the paid lapdogs of the corrupt entity to begin with?
The exact point precisely why WikiLeaks may be so valuable. They bypass the authorities and go directly to the public. That's who they are.
I was wary of them putting our soldiers at risk in the mideast with previous leaks, but this would be an invaluable service to the public.
The World of Wall Street is a House of Cards. The fundamental card that holds the house up is secrecy about how far everyone is going into white collar crime to reap greedy profits. Yank that card out from the foundation and the entire house will come crashing down.
My bet is that we will learn most banks are involved in new strategies to cook the books and insider trading. My bet is that there are hundreds of more cases where a bank like Goldman Sachs sets up meetings between hedge hog fund managers and investors/victims. This is what Goldman paid a $550 million out of court settlement fine over. The bank can claim innocence as only collecting a fee for setting up the meetings. My guess is the banks get a percentage of the take from the hedge hog fund managers if they really rip people off. The name of the game is persuade investors to invest in one direction that you know is bad, then bet against them and make millions of dollars.
But I do object to Mr. Assange being the decider in these cases by releasing whatever information he gets, whenever he decides to release it. This is getting to be more and more about his interest in power and fame.
Nothing is stopping you from setting up a few servers, advertising that you will support whistleblowers, and setting up shop in competition with Mr. Assange. If you are willing to put in the time and effort and take the risks, then you too, can have your own Wikileaks.
Nothing is stopping you. Go for it. Till then, he has the right to decide. He paid for it in terms of effort, sweat and taking the risks of offending very powerful people, as well as the risks associated with tyrants and useful idiots calling for his murder.
If you read the article it succinctly stated that there will be NO NAMES RELEASED! In other words, a whole lot of numbers without corresponding individual, business or governmental representative's names. It's tantamount to reading that oft over-used and abused tag line in a news article about anonymity because the spokesperson isn't authorized to release any details. In other words, we get ZILCH!
This whole Wikileaks gaggle seems suspect to me. Why isn't Assange just throwing everything he's got, or gets, on the website with reckless abandon? He doesn't do that, does he? He selects and decides what "stories" he will champion. So, either he is a fame-seeking non-journalist wanna be computer geek, OR there's something more sinister and far-reaching behind the Wikileaks agenda. Think "manipulation of the masses", and go from there.
This is a non-article about an issue that everyone already knows about, in general, and will lead to no valuable discovery or prosecution of wrong doers. Therefore, this bankers threat, which is nonsensical at best, is nothing more than a sideshow, as are the actions of the Swiss court.
If you're inclined to be angry about this not so new & improved information, what are you going to do about it when you don't even know the names of the allegeded "criminals"; burn you OWN house down?
It makes absolutely NO sense to jump off the deep end when there's nothing tangible forthcoming, and certainly no notable or air-time worthy facts. The powerful elite who lie, cheat and steal will ALWAYS lie, cheat and steal BECAUSE THEY CAN! You say you want a revolution? Good luck with that! We're the puppets and the puppeteers have us tied in proverbial knots, JUST the way it's been for a very, VERY long time. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, to those who just decided to tune in to reality!
No one judge can shutdown wikileaks any longer. It is too well distributed now, from country to country, hosting site to hosting site. The information age is upon us. I wonder if this is what the bible refered to when it said that all will be revealed in the end and judged for it.
This is one of those times that yes.... common sense needs to trump law.
If many knew of what was really going on vs. their personal rights, then yes... it's a violation of privacy and none of us would want it done to ourselves but at the same time would change the course of history; hopefully it would wake many up, close the gap on divisiveness, and instead of supporting one Donkephant over the other we'd all support and do what's right for America and Her constituents, Her livelyhood, Her best interests.
They've all been playing the blame game for so long, it's time for honesty; I'm VERY close to losing all I have, am versed in both the medical field and in machining/manufacturing, still nothing of any substance. Over 12 years of college overall.
Any employer can look up my credit score, etc... and We as the People have the right to trump privacy rights when it comes down to our Representatives selling out; could care less about other nations, call me protectionist, and F the 'privacy laws' that discourage knowing what our supposed reps are doing..... perhaps the left and right will realize we're all getting it up the arse, and from both, because of heavily invested interests.
Law this and that; look towards common sense. How many from either side of the aisle are worth less than millions of dollars? How much are you and I worth? This isn't law case about murder, rape, torture.... it's a case about abuses, lying, hiding, and bringing to the light of day what these arseholes have been doing in bed together for how many decades.
Certainly would provide whatever money I could to this defense.
Obama got his peeps to pay it off, so he could make her Secretary of State. And before all you Obamanista's accuse me of racism or something, I'll show your favorite Huffing&Puffington Post as my source:
Well Okkkkk go a head and tell it all. I am sure the media will run with it a long time, plus we may get to know who has been reaping us off for years.
Funny how he comes forward now, because he is pending trail !
My guess. They'll run with it for about 3 days. Frankly, it's boring news. Would anyone really be surprised that rich people put money in Swiss banks to avoid paying taxes? I always thought that is what they were for.
I would like to see the list myself if only to confirm what we already know. If there is enough tax eveasion to put a dent in our national debt then it's a good thing go ahead a collect.
And how much is it going to cost the taxpayer to collect it? And how much do you think will be left to go toward our national debt after everybody and their brother get a cut? A pittance, that's how much!
What happens in Switzerland stays in Switzerland. That's the Las Vegas motto and I don't see much difference in what has been going on there for decades to what has been going on in Switzerland since they figured out banking was the best thing to ever happen to their country.
And I never offered or made any suggestions. What's yours?
Think about this. How many major stories have you read on what has been released by "leaks" so far that has any meat in them? Most are anti "Leaks" stories and contain little or no information of value.
That people have swiss bank accountants is no secret. People legit as well as corrupt have been using the Swiss for all of my lifetime and beyond. Simply stealing banking information and dispersing it isn't going to do a whole lot of anything other than expose people's bank accounts. I just can't wait for the drama of knowing who has swiss bank accounts.
Mine is to wait for the info to be released and then see what comes of it. Not sure what your point is, you seem to think we shouldn't do anything...which is just idiotic.
He's not handing over the account information, he's handing over all the ACCOUNTING information, the money trail. It's no different than the mob, the vast majority of whom go down for simple tax evasion when their illegal income is discovered, vs all the other crimes they commit but which insufficient evidence for a conviction exists.
I can see it now. A person opens up a bank accountant and tells the bank he has to hide it there because he stole the money from society or it's drug money or from hostage trafficking. Just isn't going to happen unless wikileaks adds the tidbits and releases it with account numbers and names to spice up his portfolio. The most that can be released is an account name and number period.
Yep, its way overdue. We do know that Google and Yahoo have accounts overseas but it's that damn tax structure here in the U.S. that needs reform. Corporations wouldn't do this if the tax system was fair in this country. You can't have a blanket tax system and expect to thrive as a nation. Especially when it comes to business taxes in this country.
Japan has a higher tax rate that America. America is a close second, and Germany is a close third. Japan and Germany have been role model strong economies for years with near full employment based on the production of tangible goods with little outsourcing. Both are prevented from large scale military spending due to the treaty that ended WWII. In the mean time, America has accounted for more of the world's military spending than all other countries combined. We are currently down to 46.5 percent of the world military spending, and our closest rival is China at just 6.6 percent. We have over 737 military bases and facilities world wide, and no other country is even remotely close to that number.
While we have to worry about a $14 trillion national debt and federal government solvency, both Japan and Germany have much stronger economies than we do.
Japan is in the midst of a 20 year long recession and has more public debt than any other country on earth as a % of GDP they are hardly a role model to be looked up to. The reason they have little outsourcing is because people outsource to THEM. They are both countries which rely heavily on exports, Japan has been overshadowed lately by China which has lower wages hence the 20 year long recession. The US government is REALLY interested in tax evaders with swiss bank accounts. If this guy really had anything all he'd need to do is give it to the feds and I can promise you they'll be all over those people. I think he's full of crap and in order to have reliably known that they were in fact tax evaders he'd need a somewhat detailed knowledge of the tax codes of dozens of countries which is doubtful. America's average tax rate is lower than most first world countries. Military spending in the US despite 2 wars is actually at historically low levels as a % of government spending. We spend a great deal more on transfers of wealth like social security, medicaid and medicare. At least we have evidence to suggest our military actually suceeds in achieving it's goals. I wonder if poverty has decreased as a result of all that welfare? You can't fix a problem by treating the symptoms. Poverty is a manifestation of the wickedness in the human heart and not a problem of it's own accord.
Japan for many years was a role model economy. The strength of that has declined. Germany is still a strong economy based on near full employment producing tangible goods with little outsourcing. The business taxation rates between these two countries and America have been within 1-2 percentage points of each other for years.
Sounds like Julian Assange is wanting to be like Nostradomus in creating Quatranes of future events that he created to solidify his name in history regardless of how many people are affected.
I think Julian Assange is becoming the biggest threat to the planet maybe even more so than Osama Bin Laden.
As far as we know the information being released from the Swiss Banker has been falsified in order to create a Nostramian mushroom cloud around him of choas and confusion of which he and his follower's will rake in billions from those who are looking for any type of dirt on an institution to try and bring the institution down so that they will fall under Julian Assange with him being their Emporer.
I would pay close attention to his movement's and purchases. If he begins getting involved with arms deals I would worry as he might be the actual third anti-christ in Nostradomus' Quatranes.
If assange has such info it is more than likely real and if assange would release it all to the public many of your so called elite government officials would be running for their bunkers to escape capital punishent from vigilante justice..
i agree.... its been long known gov officials have been taking in cash, obejects and so on to hide personal sways in laws and so on, from both sides of the fence. Laws in place now are just a formality to them, just ask the ones busted so far, even tho only a tiny handful. heck, some even kept going about it as buisness as usual ignoring being caught, because they figure they can buy their way out. the time will come, just like in other countries before us when the people of the US will get sick of being sheep, and want to be human again. 20 yrs or so ago, i would have told someone like myself they were off their rocker. as time went on, read the news, see what gets the hush, and what doesnt, one comes to see, white collar public service crime does pay, even if caught.
when we start putting politicans in federal prison, where the average criminal is tossed into, and action taken to catch these political thieves, it will be only a small start to changing government to serve the people, rather than the wallet/ bank account.
Oh yeah, Julian Assange the man with the Golden Rule tattooed on his arse.
Yeah right, and I have some real estate in the North Pole I'd like to sell you.
He has his own agenda and he is definitely NOT looking out for anyone's interest but his own. Reminds me of the kid who always tattled on everyone in school...except himself!!
You seem to have forgotten the Golden Rule: Those who have the gold make the rules.
There is no profit in being a prophet. Instead there is considerable risk.
Despite Assange's Jesus-like egomania, he has everything to lose by telling anything but the truth. As such, there is reason to trust Assange more than any government official.
And as to Assang'e motivation, Jesus was also a b*stard (culturally referred to as the "son of Mary") which explains the search for identity and social outrage for both of them.
Realist>the pole is melting and countries are try'n to get that same land in the north pole (shipping routes), so i'll take it!
Mr. Assange is part of a team. He has decided to be the face of his team so his organization has credence, and to keep the rest of his team as safe as possible by being the visual target. This info is from previous articles. This Mr. Assange has BIG BALLS for doing this!!
So... his "agenda" is not his own, but a group of people. This group is now extended to millions who agree with it.
Why would you or anyone else run from the light of truth, like a roach, unless you are just that. WHO'S interest do you write your opinions for? the roaches hiding and stealing from the world at large or your self serving swiss bank account? Why in the world would you NOT want to flush out theives and liars? You must be afraid it includes your elected official or someone you trust? IT MUST REFLECT YOUR ATTITUDE of deceit.
I'll bet your buissness partners should Not trust YOU!
It's one thing to enlighten the world or expose crime. It is another to commit a crime in order to best oneself.
Where is Mr. Manning right now...JAIL. Where is Mr. Assange...FREE. Manning committed a crime in order to give Assange his ticket to notoriety. I have no use for criminals of any ilk and IMO Mr. Assange is just as guilty as the kid he duped into life in prison for his own ideology. The ends DO NOT justify the means. If they did then please set all white collar criminals free including Madoff!
And if he is trying to keep everyone safe why do I keep seeing interviews with several of the folks he works with? Your argument does not carry very much weight.
Come out, come out, whoever you are! I cannot wait for this super leak to occur and do not care to be disappointed either!
I do not expect the U.S. to spoil this party...presumably, the IRS went after individuals for having funds in Swiss banks, but apparently, some remained?
Interesting! Hopefully, they'll collect enough to pay down the National Debt and our government will cease harping about how expensive insuring Americans will be and our economy will be on the upswing!
REALIST>your argument does not include the info itself and the truth that has come to be. PEOPLE in the gov. and the banking system are ripping off you and everyone else.
Assange had notoriety already and didn't demand this guy give up his info. In this case what ends do you speak of? Clarity, righteousness in the face of theivery. Knowing whats right and wrong?
Why should anyone turn their backs on something we know to be wrong. If big buissness is cheating it's wrong and I have a right to know, since it's probably (in part) our tax money. In turn i want them punished for tax evasion. If it's gov. practice to "wash" money in secret, then why is it being "washed"? I want to know because i pay my taxes without cheating. Those who are cheating should be held responsible.
Don't kill the messenger, take head the message!
by the way Madoff and anyone like him should be prosecuted to the fullist extent of the "law".
Manning committed a crime in order to give Assange his ticket to notoriety. I have no use for criminals of any ilk and IMO Mr. Assange is just as guilty as the kid he duped into life in prison for his own ideology.
If Mr Manning committed a crime, then why is he not being brought to trial? Where is he? What are the specific charges against him? When is his trial going to be held? Where is it going to be held? Who are the judges?
In a real democracy, people, even soldiers, aren't supposed to be able to disappear without trial. Life in prison? Why?
Especially when the charges Mr Manning himself has brought, in what should be a protected capacity as a whistleblower, are so grave.
Julian Assange the anti Christ? Sounds like another Swedish indictment go along with a broken condom.
Good grief! The tin foil hat is abuzz with cosmic electricity.
On the topic of top government officials being implicated by such leaks, I doubt it. Not many legislators on both sides of the aisle do not take Wall Street money.
My question in this category is that both John Boehner and Mitch McConnell are leaders in congress that serve as conduits of lobbyist corporate money for Republican legislators. For example, they did this to facilitate the flow of corporate money during the health reform legislation debate, banking reform debate and the BP oil spill debate to protect multi billionaire corporations from regulation through obstruction and watering down legislation.
Both John and Mitch are millionaires. How do you do that on a legislator's salary?
chockeonitwyt; what you say is rigth real head of the banks are criminals themselves, and the very rich. I wish they all will choke on the bread they buy with dishonest money for riping off people. They dont want to their evil club members to be revialed.
MY FREE SPEACH HAS BEEN VIOLATED BY NBC>NBC YOU ARE JUST AS EVIL>
Press has double standers one for themselves one for the rest of the public dont you dare touch my first amendment rights. YOU snake lovers snake worshipers.Satanist.
What you dont want me to write here Iwill write to the emnasty INTERNATIONAL AND ACLU.YOU WANT TO TAKE MY FREEDOM OF SPEACH. HOWCOME you all run your mouths like snake venim propagandist you all are.
"CREATOR" ARE YOU ON YOUR MEDS? We all know corruption is rampant in every endeavor, THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT. We all know lawyers are paid to defend THE MOST HEINOUS CRIMINALS. We all know NO ONE will risk their life UNLESS THE GOOD OF EVERYONE IS GREATER THAN THEMSELVES. Now you have to ask yourself HAVE YOU BEEN AN HONEST PERSON, AN HONEST CITIZEN, AND AN HONEST AMERICAN? I doubt it! Wiki Leaks and Mr Assangue was given the burden to exposing the hypocrisy of government and the tendrils that expand into every endeavor imaginable. You just put republicraps in office that are the prime example of governmental AND corporate greed and corruption. Democrats are to blame also, but their involvement is still orientated toward the good of the public,NOT CORPORATIONS. The only desire of the republicrap agenda is stop taxing the corporate rich and tax the lower earners more. Give breaks to the well connected and cut benefits, proper health care, savings interest, and every manner of help for the real workers in this country.
I want NAMES, CORPORATIONS, AND GOVERNMENT PEOPLE INVOLVED, without that information these people will just deny any involvement. I think Mr Assangue and his associates has delivered something special to our public discourse, those that knew this was going on without any proof will have the truth vindicate their suspicions. We need criminal prosecutions of those involved, death sentences for those convicted of serious fraud involving public funds, corporate regulations forcing a total description of all additives to our food, and reasons they were allowed, and by who. Secrecy using the corporate method should be outlawed. With the present system nothing is known about the people making the decisions that affect millions of peoples welfare. A true "free" society has to have the information readily available, and honestly reported. Go back and take another set of your meds, looks like you need to cool down, me too.
Me, too. But maybe it will at least cost them some of their precious piece of mind. Some of Wikileaks acts are questionable. This is what free press was intended to do. And why not publish the names? Really, what does it matter without the names? We already know we live in a corrupt society.
The corrupt sons of bitches will figure out a way to stifle this ..
Assange is an Australian citizen and Australia has demonstrated no alarm at what he is doing. Those SOB's have tried to stifle him and have been unsuccessful due to his presence outside of the United States world wide.
However, if you are talking about Wall Street, I would not put it past these white collar SOB's to put up a top dollar contract on him.
Who really cares what this guy says. Anyone associated with Wikileaks is crooked. Wikileaks uses stolen documents and criminals to get this information. They are just as guilty. Who cares. Assange is going to get his when the US can get to him. I hope he rots in a federal prison. He is a criminal since he used STOLEN documents. No moral dilemma. STOLEN DOCUMENTS.
ANYbody can hack computers now Goverments does it all the time you are too stupid to understand. They dont like wikileaks because he spill the beans about their dirty dealings all around the world.HOW They will go about killing everybody.
"Stolen documents" SO WHAT, MORAL DILEMMA" SO WHAT" I am positive that if your stupid self had a "stolen document" that said your house was going to be fire bombed you would be the FIRST TO USE THAT INFORMATION TO REQUIRE SOMETHING TO BE DONE ABOUT IT. Kristian 113 is the type of ignorant person that is taken by the very people involved. Yes Mr Assangue will endure a very dangerous life ahead, the very rich and powerful already has him in Sara Palins "cross hairs", just waiting for their perfect opportunity. May he survive long enough to prove his allegations against the rich and powerful traitors within our society.
Ollie North and John Poindexter were classic corrupt narco-terrorist enablers guilty of massive crimes against humanity, both mvrders and setting up the Colombian-Ecuador-Nicaragua connection to destroy USA with snowcaine.
Today Poindexter's a high-rank ambassador. North has his own RW talk show.
Ask Hillary Clinton how she paid off her -$35M bankrupt 2008 prez campaign.
We are paying Karzai $5 BILLION a year in baaksheesh direct to his account.
We are paying Zardari $4 BILLION year in baaksheesh direct to his account.
Hillary approved both those payments as SecState and Spymaster in Chief.
Ray4ya— I know exactly what I am talking about. I have endured the countless crap that you are too afraid to do. Wikileaks is NOT providing a service. Did they receive stolen documents? Yes. Did they get them by illegal means? Yes. So they did nothing wrong in your eyes. Let me hack your home computer and put EVERYTHING you have ever looked at on the web. Send it to your friends and family. Do you think I did nothing wrong? You are the idiot.
Jealous of his sexuality? Are you serious? He isn't even attractive. What woman wants to be with a man who considers himself on the same plane as a fictional superhero? Someone in Hollywood maybe, but not anyone with real taste.
Realist. I agree with a lot of your posts.I fear your just a voice in the wilderness on this vine. I want justice as well as anyone else, and there is a right and wrong way to get it.
Well, to make a serious answer to what you mean as a insult, we know that there were at least two such women.
I agree with you in that I don't find him sexually attractive either, but then, I don't swing that way. On the other hand, there's no doubt that there are plenty of women who find him very attractive.
He might not be a Hollywood superhero, but what he has done is without question very brave. It's rather funny that there are so many soldiers who heap abuse upon him. Yet, they consider heroism to be sitting in multi-million dollar machines, armed to the teeth and killing journalists carrying cameras. They would have involuntary bowel movements at the thought of standing up and speaking truths powerful people want to keep hidden.
Assange is a hero, whether you like it or not. Like any other human being, he has flaws, perhaps even serious flaws, given the charges against him. This does not detract from the service he has done for the common people like us.
Those implicated include "business people, politicians, people who have made their living in the arts and multinational conglomerates — from both sides of the Atlantic," Elmer said, according to the Observer.
Individual names will not be released, the newspaper reported. Similarly, a shorter list of 15 customers the banker gave WikiLeaks in 2008 has not been revealed, it said.
Now that is the stupidity of the whole thing. If you will name the "Multi Nationals" and hedge funds why not the individuals?
Ya got it. This is just to scare the corrupt Trans National Globalist BANKSTERS to back off a bit. If he was a REAL threat he would have been JFKed by now! Other than low level informants, the only big shot hurt by his leaks is George Soro's puppet Hillary Clinton. After Soros helped throw her daughters 3 to 5 million dollar wedding she was gettin upity and there was tooo much talk about her runnin against Soros's other puppet, President Oboma. Notice that there is NO talk about a Clinton Presidential run now!
If anyone is hurt by these releases it will only be Soros's enemies; Not the members of the New World Order that are callin the shots. Just small time fry. Like when the cops bust the dope pushers. Do they get the big shots? No, they get the big shots competition and everyone is happy and a lot of money is spread around!
What a stupid list of propaganda statements. So this fool thinks Mr Soros is a demon, I guess Rupert Murdock is a saint! Right, We know what fountain you drink from, FOX( FAKE) NEWS. Go get a life, the one you are in is truly miserable.
Ray, Fox News is owned by the Trans National Kapitlist also. Ya think that 20% plus oil tick money has no effect? Murdock has Lib papers in England and Australia. He just is part of the good cop/bad cop game and makin big bucks doing it. Beck is just preparin the SHEEPLE for the New World Order so they're NOT that SHOCKED once it comes down soon! Plus Satan enjoys toyin with ya before he sticks it to ya. Gotta love the Prince of Light. NOT!
Without Wikileaks around to provide some threat of exposure , there would be nothing. The Swiss won't do anything? Just look at their history of concern for others (WWII and Hitler)
With all due respect folks, you're well off hoping - but don't hold your breath.
The "scumbags" you want named & villified are "masters" in the arts of "plausible deniability"evasion, avoidance, denial, side-stepping, getting "menials" to accept the blame and CYA in general.
The real "powers" you want exposed will have so many layers of protection to distance them from any sanction or penalty that - like the drugs scene - you may catch a few runners or minnows but the real big fish will just swim away as usual.
He hasn't said anything about Assange, just the people Wikileaks is going after. They are very good at avoiding judgment and penalties for their actions.
Doesn't mean you just give up and let them do whatever they want. The hell kind of person are you?
I bet those oh so eloquent comments you just made about me, someone you don't even know will get you suspended by Newsvine. Quite a vocabulary you have there.
Most people on this comment board feel as if this information is going to change the world order or change the way business is done. That is a false hope. In the end it will change very little, if anything. Did the leak of US government cables ultimately change anything? A few red faces maybe, but not much else. It did change Private Mannings life though didn't it?
As Eamonn stated, these people are good at what they do and they have lifetimes of experience in doing it. They will sneak, slither, crawl, and slime their way out of anything that comes out of it or they will finger some poor fool working for them. And should they end up with any kind of charges their very well paid lawyers will keep it tied up in litigation for years, if not decades.
There is a reason why they are so rich, because they have all been schooled in the art of deception and reared in the society of CYA!
Have I answered all of your questions and acusations towards me? I am not a softy on justice I just deplore ANY form of criminal activity or intent and I also know when to hold and when to fold.
waaaah, Don't really care about suspension from a blog site. why should I? When so many opinions exist here for the sake of argument, why shouldn't the dumb ones be pointed out. If your skin is to thin, then maybe you should read some of the violent ones, and get a real opinion about people who think as you do? their are lot's and lot's of em. They don't get deleted, and those are some crazy remarks about death, dismemberment, rape and many other nasty remarks. much more so then being called a dummy. besides, all you had to do was read the above previously stated to understand what he meant.
by the way, have a nice day yourself, hope it's better than our morning dispute. thats real.
You shouldn't worry about being banned from a blog. You should worry about being rude and acting like a jerk. The suspension will go away. Whatever causes you to be hateful will remain.
The last line of your response was nice. Hope you meant it. Ultimately it comes down to us, the people, and how we view and treat one another. The politicians can play on it but no one but us can control it.
IMHO ckoeonitwty, Realist's posts made WAY more sense than yours, I fully understood what he was saying in BOTH posts maybe it's YOU that needs to go back and re-read them?
Does that make you a fan of Chief Justice John Roberts?
Choke - you are dead on. The "realists" have thrown up their hands - nothing we can ever do to level the playing field in this corrupt world. Just do your 9 to 5 and shut up - that's what they are suggesting.
Eammon is right. But things are chaning, people are becoming MUCH more aware of their govts crimes against them. This is a good thing.
A special council of Wall Street giant executives control the derivatives market. The Fed is a semi government private entity with Wall Street involved. The rating agencies for investments are owned by Wall Street giants lie their butts off for them. Then you look at all of the so called government banking experts and almost all of them are (alleged) ex Goldman Sachs executives. When you talking to banking executives they speak the bankerese language. You are not supposed to understand what they are saying. Like sophisticated Pig Latin. So you here about CDO's, derviatives, Abacus Schemes, hedging your bets, collatoralized debt, etc... and the plain English translation is probably "I'm being $crewed." Otherwise, why would they use such devious language?
We are most likely talking about the super-super top-top .5 percent rich that you and I will never bump into in real life. They live behind gaited fences in gaited communities with hired bodyguards, property sentries, fleets of stretch limos, hired spies on other elites, several mansions and vacation mansions, etc... Bringing them down would be a humungous task. Anyone that has the adequate level of smarts will get bought off and be smart enough to be bought off instead of risking assassination. They are essentially above the law because they are so rich.
Hey JOHN R. if the name bugs you....too bad, don't read it. If you really have a problem with it. It will do good to wonder why you should choke on it.LOL
again>not the messenger, the message
1SGFitzsWife4ID, of course you understand that crazy @!$%#e, patriot's have their own way of doing things.lol
Gee, imagine that! People who are wealthy enough to care about secreting income from the taxing authorities feel they shouldn't be subject to the taxes that all the rest of pay. Who knew? What a surprise.
Really Stephanie! I agree with you.... Like who will be surprized???? Has this ever happened before.
This is just Media hype!
Assange is a mental case. Reminds me of a weasel or a racoon, not brave enough to come out during the day, always hiding and doing his dirty work in hiding. Won't be surprized of someone put's his lights out.
No surprise Stephanie - but what is your suggested response? Nothing? Nothing to see here? C'mon. Crimes need to be punished. It's not that complicated.
So true, with the present atmosphere truth is never allowed to be known. Million dollar advertising contracts paid to conceal bad things. Some think nothing can be done, and without some that are willing to endure the cost nothing WILL be done. I WANT SOMETHING TO BE DONE, I want honest change from the corrupt environment we are in today. Sure it has always been corrupt, but in the present configuration the actual workers of this world are prisoners of their own complacency. When will we answer the call of honesty? It better be soon or we are lost in a sea of idiots.
Get the names released so these individuals so they can be jailed!!
Further, let's do something revolutionary and drop the pretence that the country of Switzerland is so damned simon pure. They've been gangstering since they allowed their first crook to put money into one of these hidden accounts. Along with ending the practice, which is no more than bilking other nations of money which is rightfully theirs, the International Bank (or some new entity with a different name) should be given powers to levy huge fines against Switzerland. If any Swiss leaders have the audacity to start screaming about their "mistreatment", dissolve the country and let Germany, France, Austria, and Italy each have a slice! Then let's put them all out on the street!!
Get the names released so these individuals so they can be jailed!!
We have had two of the most blatantly obvious cases of white collar crime possible this last year. Goldman Sachs was involved in setting up a convention of investors with a hedge hog fund manager, who was selling the investors in investing in the market while he bet against them and made millions of dollars. There was an out of court settlement, the largest in US History at $550 million. Then the worst of the worst predatory lenders Angelo Mozilo was on trial. He worked with CitiBank and Bank of America and was up on predatory lending charges in 11 states. He settled out of court with a fine of a few million dollars.
Goldman Sachs easily paid off that fine for fraud and went on to make billions of dollars in profits in the next quarter. Angelo is most likely investing his own money with insider information and making millions. Fines are a slap on the wrist for white collar criminals. Yet when you look at the huge amounts of money they have ripped off from thousands if not millions of people, they rank up their with Bernie Madoff.
What we need is a few of the worst white collar criminals going to prison like Madoff. Fines only mean $crewing more people out of more money to pay it off. I have yet to see a serious legal deterrant for these slobs.
My husband's little 83 year old grandma makes enough money every year babysitting that she has to pay taxes. She grew up during the great depression, lived frugally, and saved every penny she could - LEGALLY. The rich-beyond-your-wildest-dreams corporations and individuals that are evading taxes illegally through these accounts should be paraded into a public square, then have to watch as every dollar they hid is burned to ashes in a huge bonfire, before being sent to prison for the rest of their lives with only bread and milk to eat. This is revolting, and the day of reckoning can't come soon enough to these scumbags.
My mother fits the same profile and she must account for very penny of her earnings from a pension and interest in all of her savings. IRS is all over her returns.
On the other hand, there was so much of a drain on neighboring countries that the Swiss Bank UBS was taken to court for providing offshore bank accounts for rich Europeans and Americans for the purpose of tax evasion. THEY DISCOVERED ALMOST 5,000 RICH AMERICANS INVOLVED IN TAX EVASION. And that is just one of the favorite off shore banks.
Why doesn't the IRS get super aggressive and go after all banks engaged in offshore tax evasion bank accounts. Just do an internet search on offshore banking and you will see all of their adds.
If they can go after all of the grannies in America for every last single penny, I'm sure they can go after the rich and super rich on their offshore banking and trillions of dollars.
Many if not most people involved in offshore banking do not declare their accounts on their tax forms, which is against the law. What would be the incentive for an offshore account otherwise?
Actually, I believe that most do declare their account as legally required, and are people just like you and I.
Maintaining an offshore account allows you to hold money in a different currency. This is important since our government is actively destroying our own currency. Also the SEC places many restrictions on the stocks or funds that a US account holder may invest money into. An offshore account can open up the world to you as an investor providing you with opportunities you would not otherwise have.
If structured properly, there an also provide protection from frivilous law suits.
So whats new ? This has been going on for many, many, decades. Corruption and Greed does not like having it's criminal doings exposed - whether they be Individuals, Companies, or Governments. And their Laws, (passed by themselves), work in their own favor, to protect their own underhandedness. They don't like the people knowing the nasty truth of what they are really like. Maybe they are afraid of a 'Tunisian Revolt' in their own backyard.
Jesus tossed the "money changers" out of the temple. If he does a return visit, maybe we can get him to toss Goldman Sachs "experts" out of the Fed and our government.
More than likely only a few who have accounts in the Camen Islands, the rest will scurry away and breathe a sigh of reielf that they didn't get caught!
The journo is right in attacking the system! Bad system has to change for a better society. A bad system is like an evil movie script, would you change the actors or the script to better the outcome? Actors would be right in following the script. Change the script and the very same actors will perfom well. This one is a juicy one..... just don't forget it takes more than just spilling the beans. Big guys normally are prepared for such a showdown. Nevertheless it has to be said!!!!!!!!!
Way to go Rudolph and Wikileaks!!! I just hope they really intend to see it through. I hope they live long enough to see it through. We certainly do live in interesting times.
If he begins getting involved with arms deals I would worry as he might be the actual third anti-christ in Nostradomus' Quatranes.
I don't know about that, however truth is stranger than fiction. Because of technology the world is becoming a smaller place at a rapid pace and it's having consequences that apparently even the most powerful of men are failing to anticipate.
Perhaps it is simply that I am getting older, but it truly does seem to me that the collision course which the basic forces of good and evil have always been on, is nearing the point of impact with ever increasing speed.
I don't claim to know what's going to happen in the future but I get this feeling that the excrement is soon going to strike the blades of the high speed fan and someone is going to get covered in merde. It probably won't be the rich and powerful, but it's happened before. Actually, many of us in the middle and working classes already are getting sprayed with poo and have been for a while.
If the American people knew what we have done to their country they would hang us from the lamp posts.
Georgge H.W. Bush
Actually Goerge, I think we're starting to figure that out, finally. Hopefully Rudolph Elmer and Wiki leaks really will get this information to the public, so that the world may see in detail just what a complete moral failure has happened.......that world will see just how rigged and dirty the game truly is.....that the world will see that we are nothing more than useless parasites breathing their air and drinking their water. In the eyes of the uber wealthy and poweful we should be happy to be thier servants. Some actually believe that they are deity. When they say power corrupts, they aren't joking.
Which reminds me of one more quote......and how very similar words were spoken by Patrick Henry, Thomas Paine, George Washington, Samuel Adams, Thomas Jefferson and many more. When our country was born, it was only after the defeat of the most wealthy and powerful nation on Earth, and it's equally powerful military. Sadly, it didn't last much more than a century and it died on Jekyll Island. We will never get it back until we put our ridiculous left/right differences aside and join together as Americans once again.
Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!
Attributed to Sir William Wallace in the movie Braveheart.
No truer words were ever spoken. How many of us are willing to trade those days yet to be lived in the pursuit of honor and truth. I am not a leader, but some things are worth the sacrifice. That day may be sooner than we may like. SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE.
As far as we know the information being released from the Swiss Banker has been falsified in order to create a Nostramian mushroom cloud around him of choas and confusion of which he and his follower's will rake in billions from those who are looking for any type of dirt on an institution to try and bring the institution down so that they will fall under Julian Assange with him being their Emporer.....
The History Channel needs to back off on all of these doomsday stories. It's starting to affect the masses.
The occupational hazard of a "pud puller" is pulling the ol' pud too far and getting discredited. If Assange goes too far just once, he will be yesterday's news.
You are making assumptions about people you don't know. How would you possibly know what I've read? I'm 50 years old. In the sixth grade my reading comprehension was tested and placed at grade level 14.
Although strange for a twelve year old, I was a history junkie then and I still am one today. I've also done a good bit of reading since then. I may know more about both the French and American revolutions than you think,
As to the Swiss banking records and Elmer's threat to release them to Wiki leaks.....
We will see if these CDs are actually released and if they are, we will see what they contain. Until that time, I am not assuming anything. I am very hopefull though, yet I am also mindfull of the fact that life is full of surprises and disappointments.
If they are indeed egaging in pud pulling and using this occasion to make a quick ez buck, it will be obvious soon enough and both men will run out of money long before they ever regain a shred of either their lost credibility or the good will of their former supporters.
If these records should expose criminal acts by either individuals or govts who have previously been shielded from justice because of their great wealth and power, then both Assange and Elmer are heros in my book.
“… we must be aware of the harm we may do in the name of the honesty we want …” Teddy Roosevelt
Aristotle [ (384 BC – 322 BC) a Greek philosopher who more or less created Virtue ethics as an approach to ethics that emphasizes the character of the moral agent, rather than rules or consequences, as the key element of ethical thinking. This contrasts with consequentialism, which holds that the consequences of a particular act form the basis for any valid moral judgment about that action, and deontology, which derives rightness or wrongness from the character of the act itself rather than the outcomes.
If we follow the Greek's logic, alas we are at the doorway to a hell we built our selves.
Assange. has proven himself unworthy of being called human rather he is a greedy freak of nature called opportunist. Him and many people like him fail to realize the harm he does when he spouts partial truths and unlinked facts.
Most of all I would like to see how many millions he will make off the blood spilled and lives destroyed by his actions. Lack of moralaity can breed snakes that eat the breeder.
What?!! Switzerland will jail a man who exposes criminals? That's a@@ backwards!
This story makes about as much sense as a person going to the media and saying "I am going to rob a bank before I go to trial for breaking the law."
then quit smoking pot longhair, and you might get the drift.
Please Read the story before you comment. it said the papers did not release the names. if you have ADD read it till you understand it.
I don't care if it is Wikileaks or any other organization that exposes this information.
The ends justify the means.
Thank you to anyone who exposes criminal malfeasance anywhere.
Blackmail at it's finest! I hope the sqealer lets loose on Bank of Airholes!
Go Julian ! .. You might win the Super Bowl !
One might surmise this fellow has seriously shortened his longevity and any future birthday plans.
I'm starting to sense that something is brewing in a scope that is worldwide. I think us "common" people are reaching a boiling point where all hell is going to break loose from the screwing we're getting by the mega rich and big corps. that are running this country and many others into the ground and taking us with it. They are choking the life out of us a bit at a time no matter how hard we work to overcome they just tighten the noose a little tighter (prices, taxes) to the point where we just have no life left
had-enough - I will bet you real money that there will be names from both sides of the street.
Right you are, NVArt, and I do not care. I just want their taxes and fines back into the global economy. Maybe we can start righting the ship.
Yup, the ends justify the means even if the means were criminal in scope. While Manning spends the rest of his life in military prison.
Wow, now that's justified alright!
Using a wrong to make a right is not right, it is wrong.
Ends don't justify the means...Realist=502574?
Like Iran Contra?
Like the illegal invasion of Iraq?
Like Enron?
Etc?
Why can the Right commit crimes that affect, if not kill millions, but, if documentation that saves millions, should be outlawed?
The corporates, the international bankers, etc... well, hell -
no news there. No names need given.
@Brandon,
You forgot to mention that this is a Republic.
All we can say about this article is "SWEET" more targets.
AmericansAtWar, Only YOU. Most Americans do not want war and you certainly do not speak for me. Be careful with speech calling for the killing of others. You may get a knock on your door by the FBI or SS.
To Chris-749391 and Saxon
Your posts are level headed and right on the mark! Saxon your point about the banking system of the world is so true. All you have to do is look at what happened in the US and how it reverberated around the world to know that what you have stated is more true than any other posts on this board. I salute you!
Have an awesome day!
Brandon. It is good to see you holding your ground! Stay strong My Friend.
I wish he hadn't warned them, just released them.
Ru, You got to remember that this is where centralized banking was created. i.e. - the Red Shields. So in effect, they're only protecting their own.
-------- and --------
And since we have nothing but puppets in the highest ranks of government, they must protect their masters.
Since there has been problems with posting links lately, go to youtube and after the dot-com-slash copy/paste the following and hit return: watch?v=ZPWH5TlbloU
In less than 30 minutes, anyone can get it.
saxon, the Trust-busting, Monopoly-busting Teddy Roosevelts and Franklin Roosevelt's ("I welcome their [Banks] hatred.") demonstrate that real change can occur.
In contradistinction to your assertion, we voters are not powerless.
These individuals DID change the course of history and allowed Americans to live in unparalleled splendor (to the present) which the richest of humans have not known for over 100,000 years.
Thus, the fight for Representative Democracy is categorically worth the fight.
mountainmike,
Gramm-Leach-Bliley passed both the House and the Senate with very large bi-partisan support.
Well this should be entertaining.
Go Wikileaks, Go!!!
ru we "the United States is working very hard to jail wili leaks for releasing embarrassing cables so why would you not think that all governments and powerful people and companies won't do the same thing
Old Mustang:
Its the same old, same old talking point and its monotonous. Who WROTE the bill? Republicans. Gramm, Leach and Bliley were all Republicans. Republican block voted for the bill with few exceptions.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gramm-Leach-Bliley_Act
Commodities Furtures Modernization Act: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodity_Futures_Modernization_Act_of_2000
As usual, the facts do not get in the way invariably for some Republicans maintaining their delusional parallel universe in which Republicans are not to blame for anything at all while the Democrats are to blame for everything.
That type of national vote would be a vote for the next recession through the same old, same old process, deregulation.
mountainmike,
Do you intentional skip over the parts you don't like or are you incapable of comprehending facts which go against your obvious and extreme partisan hatred?
Copied and pasted from your own link.
It makes no difference who wrote the bill, this did not pass along party lines. No matter how many times you repeat this fantasy scenario of yours, it will not make it true.
Realist-502574 @1.17
"Yup, the ends justify the means even if the means were criminal in scope.
You didn't actually read the article Greg.
Hey Dr. NO....
The banks sell the data on Clients every day.. Or they do a PISS POOR Job of protecting Data....
So, The banks are the ONES that have been Criminally responsible for Identity Theft
I bet Obamma's buddies George Soros and Warren Buffetare one the list, and probably half of Congress (both sides), half of the U.N. and China's Hu Jantao. The probaly were China buy's off our government politicians at
This is DEEEEEP ! About time we exposed these starched collar crooks!
Let's go back to our bread and circuses.
Does anyone else think this guy looks a lot like BillM: http://themoderatevoice.com/98505/goodbye-bill-maher/
I don't care who he looks like, the information he's got is sooo darn attractive!
Old Mustang:
I hope there is actual tax evasion as opposed to avoidance which is perfectly legal. Im tired of seeing it dramatised.
So Danielle please explain the difference between tax evasion and tax avoidance? Is it like putting off your homework or something till after you watch TV? I think its more like the difference between Murder and Negligent Homicide or Manslaughter, somebody still wound up dead. Calling it something else doesn't make you any less guilty, it just apparently helps you sleep at night, on your fluffy bed, in you large house, in your gated community, with the rest of the Burgiouse.
mountainmike,
I am not trying to blame the Democrats or the Republicans for any legislation.
Quite happily.
If any of our elected official name;s come to light in this mess, he or she should be charged with treason and publicly hung!!!!
I can't wait for this release!!!
Good point megalodon, it wouldn't suprise me a bit if some of those names belong to the higher-ups in the IRS.
tmoff---this will be priceless!
Article stated the man admitted he released discs to several in the media. Where are the stories?
Why would you tell the authorities, when they are the paid lapdogs of the corrupt entity to begin with?
id:tomilvento
OK, but if not him, then who? Whatever his personal motives/agenda in doing this, thank @!$%# he is doing it, because nobody freaking else was, were they? You do it, if you have such a problem with Assange.
Article stated the man admitted he released discs to several in the media. Where are the stories?Therein is the truth that rich people control the media. They have their trolls complain about the liberal media all the time but that is just to deflect the real ogre behind what we read and that is the filthy rich folks who prey on honest good hard working men and women.
@Megalodon;
To: ModerationinAllThings
I agree with you. If we can get past the banality of arguing whether the tweedle dee or the tweedle dum party is the worst and realize that they're both tweedle parties, then maybe we can go after the real culprits - the banks, big corporations, and our government that enables them!
what i dont understand is why all seem to favor wikileaks giving out this info, but not the lies and underhanded dealings of the politicians. where is the difference. i say "out" them all.
OK, so Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign ended up -$35 MILLION in debt
because she was dang sure she would win the nomination then could payola her
way out of debt, how is it at only 20 months later, in late 2010, her campaign has
reported the debts have been paid off, when she is a Cabinet member and can't
make speeches for money? That's $2 MILLION A MONTH! Is that why she was
flying frantically back and forth to Kabul and Islamabad at Transporter in Chief?
She approved $5B a year for Karzai, then approved $4B a year for Zardari, and
you don't think they showed their gratitude with a little baaksheesh in a pouch?
As a public official, she must reveal how her campaign debts were finally paid!!
Obama got his peeps to pay it off, so he could make her Secretary of State. And before all you Obamanista's accuse me of racism or something, I'll show your favorite Huffing&Puffington Post as my source:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/12/04/clinton-scrambling-to-pay_n_148586.html
Well Okkkkk go a head and tell it all. I am sure the media will run with it a long time, plus we may get to know who has been reaping us off for years.
Funny how he comes forward now, because he is pending trail !
Night Hawk:
Bullet171
And how much is it going to cost the taxpayer to collect it? And how much do you think will be left to go toward our national debt after everybody and their brother get a cut? A pittance, that's how much!
Realit - so your suggestion is what? Do nothing?
What happens in Switzerland stays in Switzerland. That's the Las Vegas motto and I don't see much difference in what has been going on there for decades to what has been going on in Switzerland since they figured out banking was the best thing to ever happen to their country.
And I never offered or made any suggestions. What's yours?
I bet Martha Stewart and a couple of the Waltons are on that list....they are all well known for cheating.
Statutory reap? With Wall Street, the 2008 recession was a "gang reap." And we are all under age for that type of reap!
Hope he follows through!
Its about time
Yep, its way overdue.
I hope you're not really that stupid.
If he begins getting involved with arms deals I would worry as he might be the actual third anti-christ in Nostradomus' Quatranes.
dwighthuth
you need to do some research on your government.
Did the TEABAGGERS lose a nut bag?
Wiki Leaks is a force for good!
Amazing .......... how long can you deny the value & honesty of Wikileaks?
Is there no vaue in the Truth?
dwighthuth
What do you have in YOUR Tea Bag?
I'll bet your buissness partners should Not trust YOU!
chokeonitwty
D. None of the above
Choke - couldn't agree more. What is Realist so scared of?
The corrupt sons of bitches will figure out a way to stifle this ..
I hope you are mistaken.
It seems the courts won't be tolerating any monkey business.
However, they do accept cash :-)
Me, too. But maybe it will at least cost them some of their precious piece of mind. Some of Wikileaks acts are questionable. This is what free press was intended to do. And why not publish the names? Really, what does it matter without the names? We already know we live in a corrupt society.
Any questions?
Ray4ya— I know exactly what I am talking about. I have endured the countless crap that you are too afraid to do. Wikileaks is NOT providing a service. Did they receive stolen documents? Yes. Did they get them by illegal means? Yes. So they did nothing wrong in your eyes. Let me hack your home computer and put EVERYTHING you have ever looked at on the web. Send it to your friends and family. Do you think I did nothing wrong? You are the idiot.
I want to see all the corruption revealed and let the truth be known just how politicians, bankers and world leaders have screwed over the people .
Expose the scumbags and let them face the angry mobs that seek justice .
Washington District of Corruption is one large cesspool that needs to be cleansed of the scum..
I want to see wikileaks leak out the sexual past of Julian Assange
Yea just think unlike you he's had SEX!
rockne1865
Thanks. Much of the resentment of Assange IS sexual jealousy.
Too bad we don't have documentation of the sex life of Jesus Christ. That should really freak out the Church.
They are still denying that Roman soldier Pantera was his biological father.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiberius_Iulius_Abdes_Pantera
Wow!
But they're keeing all the Holocaust Jews money safe, REAL safe! What % did they give up, what 20 years ago? 20%?
With all due respect folks, you're well off hoping - but don't hold your breath.
The "scumbags" you want named & villified are "masters" in the arts of "plausible deniability"evasion, avoidance, denial, side-stepping, getting "menials" to accept the blame and CYA in general.
The real "powers" you want exposed will have so many layers of protection to distance them from any sanction or penalty that - like the drugs scene - you may catch a few runners or minnows but the real big fish will just swim away as usual.
Eamonn, Dublin, Ireland
maybe not this time, Eamonn
Here, here Eamonn! Another member of the small percentage in the world who see behind Assange's veil of BS!!
my god Realist?!? god your a dumbass! read his opinion AGAIN! have someone DRAW you a picture of what Eamonn means. damn dummy
He hasn't said anything about Assange, just the people Wikileaks is going after. They are very good at avoiding judgment and penalties for their actions.
Doesn't mean you just give up and let them do whatever they want. The hell kind of person are you?
chokeonitwty
I bet those oh so eloquent comments you just made about me, someone you don't even know will get you suspended by Newsvine. Quite a vocabulary you have there.
Enjoy your Sunday anyway. :)
Exactly what my screen/user name says, a REALIST.
Choke on it whitey, your screen name says it all.
1SGFitzsWife4ID, of course you understand that crazy @!$%#e, patriot's have their own way of doing things.lol
thanx larry
secrets are what we all want to here
Gee, imagine that!
And yes, we have two more members of the party of realistic thinking!! Thank you for being real.
Hummmmmmmmm The mental midgets & puppets come of the woodwork!
moonbeamracer
I will test your intelligence against mine whenever you're ready!!!
hey REALIST. tell em how you didn't understand the comment above. that should really put em in their place....again>damn dummy
Again, you are going to get yourself suspended. Please see my comment above #11.6 before hurling anymore insults at me.
Have a GREAT day sunshine!
Again,waaah.... if the shoe fits!
No surprise Stephanie - but what is your suggested response? Nothing? Nothing to see here? C'mon. Crimes need to be punished. It's not that complicated.
Re: Louiec
What the hells wrong with you? the rich & powerful are making a mess of the whole world & you hate the one man that tells you what going on!
Authoritarians don't like it when authority is challenged.
When authority comes into conflict with freedom, they choose to side with authority. They despise freedom and liberty as being anti American.
Their rhetoric is often violent and decidedly anti intellectual.
They can call themselves liberals or conservatives, and they often do... but not all liberals or conservatives value authority over liberty.
They're just bossy, mean spirited folks who want everyone in line and being quiet.
Then let's put them all out on the street!!
they were neutral in WWII and a repository for Nazi plunder.
They ought to be concerned with this leaker.
Excellent idea!
It is time to know the truth! Not that this is really new, but it is a validation. Such hypocrisy, lies, and a two tier system ....
Always been that way, always will be that way. Sorry truth hurts, huh?
There is nothing illegal about maintaining an offshore bank account, as long as you report those accounts to the proper authorities.
Decades? Try Centuries.
Remember some dude named Jesus Christ?
Maybe this time the guy trying to stop the Golden Rule ("those who have the gold make the rules") will not get nailed.
Jesus tossed the "money changers" out of the temple. If he does a return visit, maybe we can get him to toss Goldman Sachs "experts" out of the Fed and our government.
I hope he does it, we all know that most, nearly all politicians are crooks, this will tell us just who are the biggest.
More than likely only a few who have accounts in the Camen Islands, the rest will scurry away and breathe a sigh of reielf that they didn't get caught!
Make sure you include all the Towel Head Jihadists, Drug Peddlers in your list and I can live with you ratting out the rest of the jokers
Wow, I would love to se Bank of America brought to its knees!
Online PRivacy Tools
Way to go Rudolph and Wikileaks!!! I just hope they really intend to see it through. I hope they live long enough to see it through. We certainly do live in interesting times.
Amen Brother.

It's starting to affect the masses.
that pud puller Assange will never be emperor of anything but his pumpin fist
Oh, but he will be the emperor of his own short life and demise.
The occupational hazard of a "pud puller" is pulling the ol' pud too far and getting discredited. If Assange goes too far just once, he will be yesterday's news.
I just love how none of these people praising Assange no nothing about the French Revolution and it's repercussions
Re: @ dwighthuth
You spend too much time listening to Rush Limpbrain.
Anonymous,
You are making assumptions about people you don't know.
Just goes to show the old saying is true, "You reap what you trail."
While I disagree with your premise I do so respectfully. I believe that the truth is worth going to hell for, and always will be.
blood spilled?
bwahahaha.... fall for propaganda much?
Another one for the CIA hit list.
So true!!!
Yes you are all very right . it will be most intresting to see the other 250 thousand of documents.
They want everybody to live in fear. The renewed nazi rules.
