Actually, Hamas will do whatever Israel wants it to do, not because it fears Israel, but because it was created by Israel and, having been thoroughly infiltrated by Mossad agents, persists as a puppet of Israel.

Why don't the Israels have the small unmanned armed airplanes that the U.S. uses in Afghanistan? I just read a story that even Mexico has them. Then Israel can spot the bombers and just blast them while the planes are flying overhead? I am sure the inteligence to make such a weapon is within each reach of Israel. Hit the Hamas leaders and make the organization weak and let the West Bank take over Gaza and negotiate seriously about a Palestinian Country. The Palestinians have to recognize that since they refused to live in peace with Israel to the victors belong the spoils and one of the spoils is Jerusalem. Get over it and get on with getting Hamas out of Gaza and send in observers and oversee that the money donated to the Palestinian people is used for their benefit and not to line the pockets of the politicians. I.E. a hospital is needed then the money is sent to a trust fund in Switzerland and a contract is awarded to a company say in France and the money is doled out to the company as the hospital is built. No money gets close to a thieving politicians. It is estimated that Arafat, himself, stole over 2 billion dollars. Just look at where his wife lives and how many and what kinds of cars she owns. Where did that money come from?

Might doesn't necessarily make right. Just ask the Polish people after Hitler invaded them. I do agree, though, that the only way to make the other side listen is with might. Hamas has a very short attention span, though. It seems they need constant might to keep them from launching those rockets.
Israelis do have "small unarmed airplanes." In fact, they built the drone that crashed in El Paso recently. I visited the company that built it in Yavne, Israel. It was built by Aeronautics Defense Systems. They make small drones as well as larger two engine airplane sized drones. Heck, I even piloted one for a short brief time at Meggido Airport. Believe me, the Isaelis are on top of it when it comes to drones! That's not the problem. The problem is politics, in particular world opinion, which seems to be stacked against them. I disagree. I believe they should bomb the hell out of them when they misbehave. Of course, I am American and who are we to tell them this? We can't even win our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Why? Politics, of course!

Before you condemn the arabs in Gaza, check out how Israel used terrorism in Palestine. I don't agree with the terrorist actions, regardless of who it is. Both sides of this issue are killing civilians on the other side in the name of their religion. Since this is an ancient struggle, there probably will never be an actual peace in that region.
Actually Paduki, Israel is not killing civilians in the name of religion. While extremely sad and negligent in some cases, it is obvious that Hamas and other terrorist groups prefer to use public places (i.e. Schools and Hospitals) to launch these rocket attacks so that when Israel retaliates IN SELF DEFENSE, civilian casualties are maximized. This is how the Palestinian terrorist groups use the media to propagandize their struggle.
On the other hand, you are absolutely correct that the Palestinian groups like Hamas are killing in the name of religion. They kill themselves and claim to be martyrs, and they kill innocent Israeli's because they are infidels. These groups will not be appeased until there are no Jews or Christians living in the Middle East.

Actually Hip, it's the absolute truth, and it's quite obvious. It's just hard for people who are so blinded by the propaganda such as yourself to admit it.
I don't deny the fact that religion is absolutely at the root of all of this conflict, but the Israeli's are NOT targeting the Palestinians because they aren't Jewish, rather the Israeli's are retaliating when these extremists launch unguided rockets at civilians.
On the other hand, these Palestinian extremists absolutely attack Israel in the name of religion. They are taught in their madrassas that the Jews are evil infidels, and that killing them will give one a direct ticket to paradise.

But the point I was trying to make is that while religion may be at the root of the conflict, I personally feel that when these Islamic extremists launch attacks against Israel, it is absolutely in the name of religion. On the other hand when the Israelis retaliate, it is more in self-defense.
In other words, the Islamic extremists kill innocents (both Israeli's and other Palestinians) 100% in the name of Islam. And while Israel's very existence may be due to religion, the Israelis are NOT killing innocent Palestinians in the name of religion.
Further, however tragic and sad as it may be, if the Palestinians allow these attacks to be launched from their community centers, they aren't so innocent are they?
So the Palestinians do not act in self defense? They are the aggressors? Little sticks don't attack big sticks, unless their lives depend on it. Back an animal into a corner and watch what happens.
There is no right side to this conflict. There are innocents caught in the middle, and losing their lives, on both sides. The palestinians, just like any oppressed people (you do realize they are severely oppressed and deprived to genocidal proportions, right?) would make any and all required concessions in exchange for peace and freedom tomorrow, if it were offered.
I reject any categorization of this conflict as having an ideologically right or wrong side. With the exception of the severe oppression being suffered by the palestinians, and the civilians of Israel living under constant threat of terrorist attack because of the hawkish elements of their leadership. So I reject everything you just stated.
What is true about this conflict, however, is how cruelly and disproportionately one-sided it is.

Good idea Joe. Just make sure that when you do that you pick the border areas between Israel and Gaza or Lebanon so that you can act as a buffer between them.
It is interesting that Hamas leaders woke up to reality when Egypt warned them of impending attack by Israel if they they don't stop shooting rockets into Israel.
I don't believe that Hamas is serious about keeping peace. They have all the incentives in the world not to keep peace. They need Israel to point to for their problems and make sure funds and sympathy keep coming.
However, if they had the sense to stop their hostility, they should have enough sense to start using all the aid money to build Gaza into a thriving community.

If Hamas was serious about reaching a peaceful coexistence with Israel they would not only take steps to halt rocket attacks, but they would also seek out the ones doing it, destroy their capabilities and prosecute them for war crimes. There can be no doubt that a comprehensive peace with Israel can not be reached absent a security arrangement that prevents Israel from being subject to continuing attacks from those living in Gaza, Lebanon and elsewhere. Recently the Egyptians told the Israeli's that they needed to take certain "confidence building measures" in order for direct peace talks to resume with the Palestinians. Presumably that means halting continued construction of settlements. But it seems to me that the Palestinians also need to take confidence building measures as well, in the form of stopping all attacks on Israel and capturing and prosecuting those that continue to carry out such attacks.
But i guess it is hard for Hamas and Hezbollah to agree to anything that will move the ball in a positive direction. Hezbollah's recent exodus from the government of Lebanon is an example. Look for Hezbollah to now resort to more violence in Lebanon in an effort to shore up its power there. In their view it is better to resort to violence than it is to admit to your own transgressions and denounce them.
At any rate, this situation can not persist. Especially with Iran supplying Hamas and Hezbollah with increasingly sophisticated wepaons and other military systems. Israel can not afford to sit by and watch Iran arm its two puppets to the teeth, while Iran simultaneously ratchets up its own mititary might and continues to pursue nuclear weapons. If serious negotiations and a settlement, which includes security measures, do not take place soon it will leave Israel and its allies little choice but to deal with the situation militarily. You would think that cooler heads would prevail, but there do not appear to be any cool heads within the ranks of Hamas and Hezbollah, as they continue with their never ending resort to violence born of their xenophobic (despite the fact that they are actually brothers) hatred for Israel.
If Israel was serious about stopping the rocket attacks they would stop starving the palestinians.

Israel is allowing food and medical supplies into Gaza and the world sends the Palestinians plenty of aid. If their rulers weren't so corrupt, maybe the Palestinians would be in a much better and peaceful situation. But when the likes of Hamas embezzel aid and destroy rather than build, the people who put them in power will always end up suffering.

People let's be honest, if some Mexican cartel started shooting rockets into Texas, Arizona, NM, Cali, don't you think we would go in there and wipe the sh!t out of them? And if they were launching the attacks from a populated school or hospital, civilian casualties would be written off as collateral damage. I actually think this is a positive development. If rockets don't hit Israel because Hamas had stopped militants from using them, it keeps the peace process moving forward. If rockets do hit Israel, they'll know that Hamas has backed the use of them and can take appropriate action. If Palestinians can't control who shoots at Israel, they will all suffer reprisals and any hope of negotiated peace will be lost.
Gaza is such a waste. If Palestine ever hopes to become an independent country, then their interest should be East Israel. It would be economically better for them if they made land concessions along the Jordan River so that they could develop a sea port into the Gulf of Aquba, that connects to the Red Sea.
We've all heard that Israel has to trade "land for peace".
Well, Israel did exactly that. They pulled out of Gaza. Lock, stock and barrel.
And in return, as their reward, Israel got rockets, mortars and terrorist attacks against their civilian population.
Moderate Gazans were killed or expelled from Gaza.
So, why should any Israeli believe that "land for peace" is a genuine offer?
And, before anyone spouts off about the Israeli blockade, that didn't start until after the terror attacks.
A better question would be, Why Israelis think they have a right to steal land in the first place, then build Illegal settlements on that stolen land, and finally trade it back to better relations with Arabs for the hopes of lasting peace....
A) The land was won in war. That's the consequence of losing.
B) The actual, former owners of the land in question don't want it back.
C) The land is legal to build settlements on according to the owners of the property.
