I can't see the video at work so I'm curious, did he prove he went to school or is he just BS'ing like alot of the homeless do? Did the reporters just take his word for it? It's just a question. It's not that I don't wish him luck, I do. I just don't like liers and gang bangers that make it to the top so easily. So if it is found out that he did lie, I hope he continues with his panhandling career.

Rumblenut-you are an idiot! Not all of the homeless are liars and BS'rs or gangbangers as you believe. (Have you ever done anything for anybody other than yourself, from the tone of your email, I doubt it). Admittedly, some manipulate the system but some of these people, and yes they are PEOPLE, some have fallen on very hard times. I WORK with the homeless everyday and to actually befriend and UNDERSTAND their situation takes time, patience and dedication. Something it looks like you do not have. Some are addicts and alcoholics but there are families that have fallen apart due to circumstances beyond their control. For EX: One of my friends that lives on the street is a double PhD whose family was taken out by a drunk driver. He was a tenured professor at an ivy league school, (and, why yes, I did verify this) who has a home that is paid for and money in the bank. He simply cannot move forward with his life because, as he says, "everything I earned, I earned for my family. They are not here any longer so how can I move forward"? You HELP a person move forward. You LIFT them up as you would hope if you were in the same situation.

People like you I have nothing but pity. Go serve a meal at a homeless shelter or better yet try sleeping outside, on the concrete in the middle of winter with nothing but newspaper stuffed inside your jacket to keep you warm.

I agree with kacky. The quotes from Ted Williams have been altered slightly. To me the meaning of what was said varied greatly between the misrepresentations in the article, and what was said in the video. Maybe it was the golden voice.

To me there is a difference between, "Alcohol and drugs — and few other things — became my life," and "Alcohol and drugs — and few other things — became a part of my life."

But I guess that second quote did need to be punched up a bit.

Take notice, you dumbass, that it even states where this quote came from, a Facebook page, and you still question whether the reporters quotes came from the video! You're not a very good articulator of what you are trying to get across to people. Yes some are not exactly as in the video but some are not even from the video so the reporter did NOT get them ALL wrong!

I disagree. I articulate well and I stand behind what I typed. The quotes were wrong and it changed the substance of the article.

I could listen to him all day. What a wonderful voice and it's not all training, there's pure talent underlying all that. His comments were practised but the interview was not, hear his flow, smooth, seamless, very unlike the staccato jerk in the White House.

Here, I'm reading the remarks generated by a feel-good story, and Mr. Lester has to gum up the works by inserting his hatred for Obama. Can't you neanderthal authoritarians just put a lid on it?
