Here, no matter how unpopular you are or how much everyone hates you, you get tried by a Court of Law, not a Court of Public Opinion. Nor are you subject to mob justice. You are wrong when you state ALL abductions. The only ones that receive AMBER alerts are Caucasian children...not people of colour. Philosophically I do not have a problem with this but practically speaking here is the flaw with this current bias.

First, any sort of system, be it law enforcement, religion, etc., that has inconsistent applications creates a huge potential for irrational behavior that governs public thought. We are facing challenging times and need to rid ourselves of useless emotions when making corrective decisions. Hypocrisy is like a plague which is slowly destroying our society.

She has been on a mission. She is back in SLC for the trial. (She is a witness for the prosecution.) She will be retuning to France to finish her mission. When she returns next spring, this clown will be sentenced. They are postponing his sentencing to meet her schedule.

We all have a part of us within that wants to do things that aren't right; and I seriously can't even begin to imagine what kind of depravity would make a man even briefly contemplate the idea of harming a child, or for that matter a woman. Nevertheless, there is an animal within all of us, and by that measure, we are upright citizens because we choose to suppress our darker side; and so unless we may conclude that this criminal did not exercise free choice, we may deductively know that he acted by choice and is thus accountable as a human being both capable of and expected to sound reason.

I do not suggest that we kill him or torture him; but I do not believe that the man should be free. Thankfully, it does not appear that there is any question about his release. Whether in a hospital or a regular prison, he will be kept off of the streets, and that is good.

She is tryly an amazing person, and is serving a mission for her church in France. She only took a break from her missionary work to return for this trial to testify. I'm sure she will return to France to continue her work as soon as possilbe.

It is no doubt with her strength of character and great faith that she will live lilfe to the fullest and put all this behind her. She has a loving family and community to support her.

They allow time for family, lawyers & press to return to be present when the verdict is read. You don't know if the jury will take 10 minutes or 10 days to return a verdict.
