It really is the look of a complete idiot. I know fashion is cyclical, but once this practice dies, I don't see it ever coming back. It'll go the way of the beehive hairdo. Generations to come will look back and laugh.
I saw this one time; two kids(ethnicity withheld) walking together, one talking on a cell phone and holding a large soft drink, his buddy walking beside him was holding up his own pants and holding up his buddy's pants. Dead serious...
Wow, really? As in, it's okay to shoot people over a fashion statement? Are you people just that freaking stupid?
Whatever happened to, "Let he who hath never stonewashed his jeans cast the first stone?" Remember, almost NONE of the clothes worn today were acceptable in the past. T-shirts, button-downs, pants, skirts, blouses, earrings, other piercings, shoes, sandals, dresses, bikinis, swimsuits (even the modest ones, including the old bathing-suits from when swimming became recreational), etc. They all started as some sort of fad in fashion. And you think it's okay to SHOOT and possibly kill the person because of it.
More smart thinking from the Christian Wrong, I suppose. Morons.
Im tired of looking at their underwear. If they only knew how foolish they look. If they dont have enough respect for themselves, then they should do what we did here. It is now ILLEGAL to have your pants on the ground!
I wonder what the long term effect is on their knees, hips and back trying to walk with pants falling down. What is wrong with the parents that BUY these pants??????????
Usually a person wearing their pants or shorts like this is a clear sign they are a punk and an idiot. The more of those type that get shot the better.
The whole trend of sagging pants started in prison I heard, just the sort of thing we want our youth emulating, the prison culture. Shoot them all in the ass. Open season on dumbasses.
Janstince- you need a serious reality check. "...almost NONE of the clothes worn today were acceptable in the past...button-downs, pants, skirts, blouses,earrings...shoes..." Weren't accepptable? Are you nuts? And you think comparing most of what is worn today to a stupid "style" of walking around with your underwear hanging out and your pants almost falling off makes sense? There's a good reason it's called "underwear". Keep it there.
The more of those type that get shot the better. Shoot them all in the ass. Open season on dumbasses.
I have been dreaming of doing what this man had the courage to do for years!! What an American Hero!
Y'all must be muslin becuz everyone knows jesus loving americans wouldn't want to shoot people just cuz they are differnt, amirite?
With the amount of up-votes on this thread for violent retribution for sartorial offense, one would think the entire country is a bunch of bloodthirsty psychopaths. I'm sure the rest of the world has already come to that conclusion.
Depends on what you use. I'm for legalizing shooting the exposed underwear of these intellectually challenged with paint guns. No one dies, it decorates their exposed underwear with even more color and is really amusing.
I say,"Let em wear how they want". I personally take GREAT PLEASURE when I get the chance to say (and I get it a lot in my position, 3 times just last week) "sorry young man, you weren't chosen for the job". If they ask me why, I tell them, "You couldn't even show up for this interview properly dressed, your pants are a joke. We're looking for a person that will represent the Company in a positive light, and pants around your butt doesn't cut it in the business world". They usually don't ask though. Clueless.

I was a fashion conformist all the same when I was a teenager. 20+ years of military service, a few college degrees, and a family later here I am. Your words and actions are those of a bigot who either doesn't yet realize that there are positive ways to make a difference or chooses not to exercise them out of willful ignorance...a lot bigger problem than some kid's underwear showing.
They look like perverted clowns with the pants down that low. Good for the guy, I'm just sorry he is gonna get into trouble. Here in Dallas there is an ordinance against saggng pants and showing underwear. Only thing dallas has done right.
Michael-366427: To my understanding (I'm not 100% sure so if it is wrong I don't want someone losing their @!$%# over it) I heard that the sagging pants thing came from jail because of the gay guys there. You know how girls underwear shows when they wear low-riders and such? Same concept. If you're underwear shows above your jeans it means you're gay, not only gay, but the 'catcher'.
@Fianchetto, "you all must be muslin"???? Do you know what muslin is? You are an idiot! And anyone who speaks and writes like you needs to go back to Kindergarten.
@layerpeeler, I'm just fine and don't need to worry about what I look like. But I sure am tired of seeing these idiot "kids" walking around with their jeans buckled under their butt. And what is worse is when they are grown men. It is a stupid look, it is outdated and its disgusting. I'd like to shoot these idiots in the a$$ too. Maybe a real gun isn't the answer, but the paint gun idea is great.
This guy didn't make the best decision by shooting the kid, but he sure represents many of us who are tired of this "fashion" look that should have died years ago. If people want to be treated like adults and given chances, then they'd better stop walking, talking, and acting like idiots.
C'mon...this guy did what most of us have thought about at least once. Granted, a paintball would have probably been just as effective but the "shooter" still would have been nailed for assault. The ones who tighten their belts just below their butts to keep the pants just above their thighs and the back pockets hanging down behind their knees....please...why not just walk around in your super cool boxers with a belt tightened around your knees? You'd look every bit as "cool" as you do now. Race ya!
Your words and actions are those of a bigot who either doesn't yet realize that there are positive ways to make a difference or chooses not to exercise them out of willful ignorance
Roy, I think that not hiring someone because of what they are wearing is completely acceptable. Most places require a dress code anyways, besides, if that is someone someone wears to a job interview, you know, when you're trying to impress someone, they don't need to be hired. There are plenty of well dressed people out of work that actually give enough of a @!$%# to look nice for their first impression.
However, I do agree that people need to lighten up a little about some other things. Such as piercings and tattoos. (with exceptions of course, such as a vulgar tattoo or a gauged piercing that looks gross) For instance, I have a Monroe piercing. I got it specifically because I think it can look elegant too. There were other piercings I wanted more but I figured a possible employer would like this one more. However, most don't like it, (I do live in Alabama so maybe that's just here...) even when I say I'll wear a retainer. I understand it depends on what job you are getting, but I don't think Wal*Mart should have it's standards based on facial piercings.
I had a very sudden weight loss due to illness. Saggy pants are very uncomfortable. Constantly pulling your pants up is a real nuisance. I can't imagine anyone wearing pants like this on purpose.
When younger, a couple of my cousins took to "bustin' a sag" (vernacular). I found the best way to illicit a negative behavioral response to this type of dress was to take them to the food court at the mall, wait for them to get near a group of girls, and "pants" them. Of course the resultant hopping around and attempting to pull their pants up only added to their embarrassment as they usually had a belt on that would not allow for the quick repositioning of their pants. They quickly modified their behavior.........They stoppped going to the mall with me...LOL
Roy, I think that not hiring someone because of what they are wearing is completely acceptable.
Taylor, there is a major difference even in the delivery of what you said compared to the comment that my comment was referencing. You didn't sound like you were having an orgasm when you typed your words. But the point of my original comment is that there are people who will target anything to get their rocks off. If it wasn't sagging pants, TRUST ME that post about why some hiring manager was consistently discriminating against applicants would feature something else under some guise of decency.
I had a very sudden weight loss due to illness. Saggy pants are very uncomfortable. Constantly pulling your pants up is a real nuisance. I can't imagine anyone wearing pants like this on purpose
Same for me but mine is due to an accident. Until I can get a belt, I wear shorts because wearing jeans that are now 4 sizes too big combined with one arm in a sling is just playing Russian Roulette with my modesty when I venture out. I was watching America's Dumbest Crooks one night. The one kid who grabbed the cash register hit the floor when his baggy, loose, low riding pants went south. That totally cracked me up.
This guy did what we all want to do. But forget the paint balls how about rock salt like the upstate farmers use on trespassers. Not deadly but stings like hell. This is one of the stupidist looks that has ever been. If the rappers pull up their pants maybe the kids will follow.
I have been dreaming of doing what this man had the courage to do for years!! What an American Hero!
Shooting someone because you don't like the clothes he's wearing makes you a hero? You're a truly sick individual. How would you like it if someone took exception to something YOU were wearing, and shot you because of it? What's it like being a pathetic loser?
When you walk around in public with your private hanging out and yes your ass is you private then you take what you get. All these people can't be wrong and the law in States are now following and making it illegal. So I guess that makes you the societal "dumbass."
And society gets to judge what is acceptable as a whole. Just as you can't walk around topless this is society being your intellectual judge. To help people who don't have the common sense to act correctly.
My daughter used to date this kid whose pant were always sagging. The funny thing was that he always wore a belt, but the belt was nothing but a handle for him to hold his pants up from falling down to his ankles.
You didn't sound like you were having an orgasm when you typed your words
I'm not going to lie, I don't entirely understand what you're saying right there.
And I don't think there is much of a difference at all. His point was, (as I interpreted it) I don't hire people that dress poorly. Your point was, (also as I interpreted it) that you thought that was wrong. I was saying that I don't think it's wrong. So what is the huge difference?
How would you like it if someone took exception to something YOU were wearing, and shot you because of it?
If I was dressed like a complete @!$%#, then I wouldn't be super pissed about it. I would also like to point out that the guy said "pull your pants up" and then they got all smart-ass on him. Perhaps it was because of their attitudes.
What's it like being a pathetic loser?
What does it feel like? You're the one that can't take a joke. If you say you have never thought about physically harming someone for being stupid, then you are a liar.
i give the guy 2 HUGE thumbs up!!!!! personally i always want to put my steel-toed boots into someones azz walking around looking like an idiot, and acting like a punk, but this tops whatever thought i had of doing!!! lmfao!!!
some say fasion statment, or trend, or what have you, i say an idiot. if you make so much as a quick move, your pants are around your ankles for starters, and who wants to see what kind of undergarments you wear?
even when you watch cops, and see guys like these get caught cause their pants fell down as they were "kickin' it" in an attempt to flee, and it turns out to be a weak one at that, but still funny, soesnt amount up to this.... jus too danged funny!
Depends on what you use. I'm for legalizing shooting the exposed underwear of these intellectually challenged with paint guns. No one dies, it decorates their exposed underwear with even more color and is really amusing.
Nah... bklynj beat me to it. A 12 gauge and rock salt. That'll send a clear message. 0_o

You ought to tell them every single time, whether they want to hear it or not. No one wants to see their sorry a$$es hanging out.
To my understanding (I'm not 100% sure so if it is wrong I don't want someone losing their @!$%# over it) I heard that the sagging pants thing came from jail because of the gay guys there. You know how girls underwear shows when they wear low-riders and such? Same concept. If you're underwear shows above your jeans it means you're gay, not only gay, but the 'catcher'.
My thoughts exactly, Taylor-2125043. I have always said they wore their pants like that to give easy access to their booty buddies.
There are many police officers who have wished they could do exactly what this man did. I'm sure at least one, if not all of the cops involved were sorry they had to arrest him.
Janstince never heard of anyone dying from being shot in the butt. I have no idea where you went to medical school but you are living proof that the educational system has failed.
As for the idiots wearing there pants around there thighs, well it was started in the prison system to signal to the other inmates that they were open for business, sexually, and they had no problem with male on male sex. In other words they are gay. Now try calling one of these thugs gay because of the way they are dressed and see who will get shot. My brother worked as a guard in a prison and laughed the first time he saw this. I had him explain to me what was funny. He told me what I just wrote, then I started to laugh at these misguided boys.
The last thing I will add is, "if you don't want to look gay, don't dress like you are gay and sexually active".
haha, ROY the great assumer. I have hired many an individual, and would love the opportunity to turn someone down because of some extremely poor attire decision. It is humerous that you feel that you are quite the intelectual bringing someone down because of the same enjoyment. It appears you assumed (and being from a military background (probably Army or AF)) that Taylor was being a bigot. You are a foolish old man. I have interviewed hundreds of applicants to work for me, and the first thing I would dismiss someone for is their appearence. If someone does not have the dignity, and pride in themselves to look respectable, why should someone assume that person would work for them in any type of prefessional and productive manner? Why do you (Roy) think that taylor was excluding a person of any race. I see pants dragging from many different cultures, and will leave to work with them. I will hire another person (from any race) to represent me and my company in acceptable manner.
I find it offensive that you would call someone out for expecting people to live to certain standard. I understand that all fashion starts somewhere, but not all of it is good or gets passed on. Taylor has every right to discriminate against whom he sees fit, especially if the person he is looking at is completely unfit.
Thank you Roy for your assumptions leave the decision making to the big boys.
Personally, I've never understood the whole baggy clothes thing with your pants saggin' down your butt and a shirt 5 sizes too big.
These dumb-a** kids must not realize that this is probably the only time in their lives that they'll look GOOD in TIGHT clothing.
I feel the same about piercings and tatoos.
I've had my hide punctured too many times ACCIDENTLY to want to pay someone to do it on purpose.
However, I would recommend that young people get in the tatoo removal business. There's going to be a large part of the population wanting to get rid of ugly, sagging, fading tats as they age.
I'm sure at least one, if not all of the cops involved were sorry they had to arrest him.
The dude fired a semi-auto at some teens. They could have been killed. I hope the cops were fine with arresting him.
what is your job here?
on topic, it always cracks me up when the spoiled, suburban white boys wear their pants like this. yeah, you're so ghetto. Dave Chappelle has a great bit where it's a trading spouses thing and the white kid tries to act ghetto, so dave drops him off in the 'hood saying, there you go, have fun!
Since when do we have the right to tell people how to wear their clothes? If it was such a big deal the man could have called the cops and they could have been ticketed for indecent exposure or something. People wear crazy things all the time. Girls sometimes wear see-through shirts. Should we shoot them because we can see their bras?
Also, I am surprised by the comments on this story. Are many of you just fatasizing about this because you dont like the style? Surely you would not really shoot someone over something as trivial as saggy pants. This man is going to be charged with aggrevated assault. How is that a good thing? Since when can we shoot people just because we feel like it? If this is the mentality of future Americans, we are all in a lot of trouble.
Gerry from Texas: So, because you never heard of anyone dying from a butt-wound, it's never happened. I'm going to have to ask for your statistics, please. Go ahead, go digging through all hospital files for gunshot wounds in, oh, let's say the past 20 years. I'll bet you find at least one person who died of infection, if not a severed artery or vein bleeding out. If you can't find a single one, and I'm convinced that you've thoroughly searched all hospital records, then I'll admit the point.
[sarcasm] Also, next time you or anyone comes around singing country or anything resembling Kenny G, or some gospel, I'm going to shoot them in the mouth. Everyone knows that it's just not good manners to be singing bad music, and I feel I have a reasonable response because if I shoot through their cheeks, then it's not likely to cause any permanent damage. [/sarcasm]
That's how I view your logic, there. Shooting someone over a fashion choice or style of music or any of those superficial things is extremely wrong. This is the argument right here against civilians carrying guns, wrapped in a nutshell.
Indecent exposure is not a guaranteed constitutional right, even if looking like a retarded wanna be inmate is considered by those punk brats who do a free speech issue. Don't you kids ( and a few really ridiculous adults) get it? You're exercising you freedom by dressing like inmates. You mommies should have given the crack pipe a rest for 9 months. This is not like wearing a thin tie with a tee shirt. We don't want to see you in that stage of undress. But I can tell you this; if you choose to look like an inmate, you are certainly increasing your chances.
My friends think my politics are to the right of Attila-the Hun. Rush is too left wing for me. I strongly support the NRA and believe the second amendment means exactly what it says. I own many firearms and have a permit to carry concealed. I can't stand this "look" and find it especially disgusting on many levels.
Having said that, ..There is NEVER a reason to shoot someone unless your life, health, or the lives and health of loved ones, or innocents, is being threatened. Had this mans aim been just a little off, the results could have been a.) paralysis, or b.) death of a human whose offense was that of being a loud-mouthed idiot with extremely poor taste.
Perhaps a better response would have been to go ahead and pull this boys pants all the way down, or even off. God knows, the man would still be arrested and charged with assault of some kind. But it least it would have been funny! Who had the poorer judgement.
This from an extreme right-winger (or wing-nut for all you kool-aid drinkers).
@Janstince This is the argument right here against civilians carrying guns, wrapped in a nutshell.
REALLY? You're going to go THERE? I would never shoot a moron for something like this... Why should I give up my right to protect myself and my family because of the few jack@sses out there????
Your words and actions are those of a bigot who either doesn't yet realize that there are positive ways to make a difference or chooses not to exercise them out of willful ignorance...a lot bigger problem than some kid's underwear showing
Sorry Roy- not buying it. Show up for an interview looking like a clown (pants around your ass isn't a fashion statement in my book) we have no use for you, end of discussion. I did the military thing too, along with Boy Scouts as a child, so I know "fashion conformity". I'm not buying your argument. For you to refer to me as a bigot is a bit presumptuous, but thats okay. Have a good one Roy.
Lets ask Viners, "Should I go ahead and hire this guy with the sag, and expose my other employees (who adhere to our Corporate dress code)to this while I try and extoll the virtues of pulled up pants, hoping he'll conform somewhere along the line?"
MsAubrey, please allow me to clarify. I'm not weighing in in particular on the gun-control issue. Personally, I think a lot of people shouldn't have guns, mostly the criminally-insane and felons, but that's about where I draw the line.
I was using that statement as a point that all these guys supporting this idiot who did the shooting were giving plenty of ammunition, if you'll excuse the bad pun, to the gun control lobby: "Look, some guy shot a kid for wearing loose pants, and all these people came out in support of him. Do you still think gun control is a bad idea?" That was my intent. I apologize if it was too clouded.
It's still America for these last few remaining days (however many months we may or may not have left), so feel free to hire those you have trust and faith to conduct themselves as your company would so desire. When it's no longer the American Story to live, then Stalin or her osama or obama may try to force you to hire those you consider to be disgusting.
That's when this region turns into something more liking to the mountains of Pakistan or Afghanistan and its residents will behave in a similar fashion!

Not sure what You're speaking of. "Stalin or her osama or obama?" Okay- It boils down to one thing-I'm not hiring anyone, regardless of ethnic origin, if they drees like a fool. I never said the person looked disgusting, either.

You ought to tell them every single time, whether they want to hear it or not. No one wants to see their sorry a$$es hanging out.
As I stated in an earlier post, I do, if they ask. I do it with tact and diplomacy. i don't belittle or berate. I explain to them that "this look is not acceptable in todays business world. When was the last time you saw a CEO of a Fortune 500 company wearing his pants like that? I also tell them that individuality is a great thing, and could work in their favor, However, first impressions are very important. I actually had a Guy in the office (he asked why he wasn't chosen) for an hour explaining our decision. I ended up calling him back, as he was qualified for another slot- he got another shot- he showed up, and got the job. He looks very professional, too, wearing a nice set of Dockers up around his waist. I plan on moving him up the ladder quickly, as he is a fast track learner. As I also stated previously, they don't usually ask.
You have obviously never heard of arteries. He would have died within a matter of minutes had it been hit. How about YOU learn basic highschool anatomy before talking of the education of others.
Here I even found a case for you(ahhh I'm so generous)
The court papers indicate one of the bullets struck Ross in a buttock, passed through his abdomen and lacerated his iliac artery, resulting in his death

@bklynj
Majority does not make something correct or even intelligent. Only an idiot would think so.
ugh I think I lost some intellect just reading some of these posts
it was inmates who brought this "fashon" out of jails because their jumpsuits wouldnt fit correctly. If young men want to look like inmates, they should be treated like that... How people expect to dress and look like thugs, dead people, freaks and other such things and get jobs is beyond me... whats worse is when they dont get the job, or someone shows concern when the enter their store, they cry Racism or ageism etc.
I myself, as a "grunge" freak, was wearing tore up jeans, destroied flannels, and had, yes, barettes in my male hair. I only wish someone would have shot me early on so I could have figured out just how horrible it truely was.
It's not so much about taking a fashion risk as it is about indecent exposure. Is is inappropriate for anywhere in public, period. I saw a man in his 20s walking past a high school with his pants halfway down yesterday. In my book, that makes him a sex offender. Period.
My sympathies are for the Paramedics called out to respond to this fashion emergency. I don't like the style but how the kids or cons dress is not my business or concern. Hire one who comes to a job interview looking like a recently gang raped convict ... nope, it isn't going to happen.
Some of you people like to get way off topic don't you. The point is, a majority of the population think that saggnig pants fashion is idiotic and just makes the people doing it look like they have a low IQ. People in the business world will not take them seriously if they show up dressed like that. The guy was wrong for resulting to shooting the kids for this reason. Though it would be nice to do something about this and get it to end, it won't happen until the kids wearing it decide it doesn't look good. Nothing we do will change that. Though it is an eyesore, kids wearing their pants down to their ankles or knees and walking around having to constantly hold them up doesn't actually harm anyone except the wearer. They won't be able to easily find a good job dressing like that. But we as a people don't have the right to shoot them with paintball guns, real guns, or rock salt just because we don't like what they are wearing. We can't resort to violence just because we don't like what we see. Unless the baggy pants are harming us in some way, we have no right to fight. We can just simply state our disgust with it and then try to live life as normally as we can. They are right, at some point the fashion statement will work it's way out and something new will replace it that people will hate. It's just the way it works. Kind of like how in my grandma's time girls that dyed their hair were considered to be "not nice" girls, but now almost everybody dyes their hair at some point and no one thinks anything of it. We will get over it, just try not to let it bother you so much. I joke about the fashion and how stupid it looks, but I would never resort to violence to "teach them a lesson." That is also stupid and doesn't work.
@Taylor - the style did come from prison, but not to show who is or isn't gay. It is because when you go to prison you are issued clothes in a certain size, most in prison will lose weight because their meals are limited and there is nothing better to do than workout, when they lose weight they are not issued new clothes immediately. Thus, sagging pants. The "style" started in gangs and what not, to show people that you had done time in prison, similar to prison tats.
Justleaveitbe- I dis agree with you saying they dont harm anyone but themselves. You say they wont get a job looking that way, so then they will turn to food stamps and government help just cause they dont see how dumb they look and dress right to get a job. Dont get me wrong if you need the help Im not against judging anyone who gets this help but I hate people that abuse it. My tax dollars are helping these fools and that makes me mad and so Im glad he shot his butt....
Yea the baggy pants/shorts looks trashy, nasty and shows that the person wearing them doesn't have a clue how to dress,it's not breaking the law. Taking a gun and shooting the fool wearing the baggy pants/shorts is and that is where this guy made his mistake. He would have been better of just making fun at the teens or just chasing them and making them trip, which he would have probally gotten in trouble over.
Chaoticneutral said "Who gets to be the intellectual judge? I'd say you and plenty of other people in this seed qualify as "dumbasses"."
Ok, you go hang out with people who wear their pants around their legs and have their hairy smelly cracks exposed along with their skidmark stained underwear, and tell me if you detect any among them who would qualify as even a borderline intellectual. Good luck!
Makes you wonder if they know how that "fashion statement" came to be and what it means in certain circles?? LOL If they knew they might think twice about it...
I have so wanted to do what this man did but I was raised to think twice before acting on my urges.. It did give me a smile though even if it was considered a violent crime... :-)
@Little.. that started in the prison system. As prisoners are not allowed belts and such, they had elastic waists. When someone was trolling for homosexual favors, they would wear them sagging. The lower they sagged the more "willing" the participant...
Roy-933464, I wouldn't hire anyone either who came to an interview with their pants sagging past the butt crack. To me it shows disrespect and is not a fashion statement and it DOES say alot about the person wearing the saggy, baggy look. I have even walked out of restaurants where not just the males but the females were wearing their pants hanging on their hips and showing there underwear. It not only looks bad for business but I find it unsanitary as well cuz one has to imagine how many time they reach to pull up their pants and not wash their hands.
Sorry guys, I gotta agree with Roy. Though I think sagging is the stupidist of fashion trends, it too will pass. Teens have an extreme need to fit in. The remarks here are reminiscent of those about hippies and punk kids in the 80s etc. People usually grow up and realise how stupid they look. Though there are an awful lot of mullets walking around on middle aged men, and lets not forget those nasty perms with funky bangs sticking up in the front still worn by many middled aged women. Those were NEVER attractive hairstyles and I still see alot of middle america holding on to their youth through these dumb hair styles and peg leg jeans.
Did y'all know that this "statement" started in the prison system? Are you aware that it signifies your willingness to be someones "girlfriend" for the night? I personally think it is disgusting to be subjected to seeing someones underwear but then again I don't want to see their ass crack either...
Roy: sorry but this is pure rebeliousness, sure we had our fads and things back in the 60's but we werent gross about it, that's just plain disgusting, there is such a thing as common decency!!!!!!!
I don't think this is a trend, it has been going on for too long; in fact the pants are bagging lower as the years past. I was passing by an urban clothiers last week and saw that they are MAKING pants to fit that way. I just make it a point to stare at the pants long and hard, because of my physical stature I don't get any lip. To their credit, I have witnessed young ladies pointing and laughing... all is not lost; however we'll be having the same discussion in 5 years.
"Though I think sagging is the stupidist of fashion trends, it too will pass. Teens have an extreme need to fit in."
That doesn't matter when it comes to hiring. I used to be a HR manager, and I had to do all kinds of interviews for lots of different types of positions. My first impression would always be how the applicant presented himself/herself, and that started with their attire. If someone came in with their pants around their knees or with facial piercings galore (both of which were against the company dress code), it would severely hurt their chances of getting a position at the company. I was always told when going to an interview, always dress above the dress code. It's better to go to an interview overdressed.
Although, I would usually tell them that what they were wearing was against dress code and they would have to change it if they wanted a position. Usually only about half of the time would I be met with willingness to change that for the job. And if they weren't even willing to entertain the idea of changing their clothing, I wouldn't hire them.
Did y'all know that this "statement" started in the prison system? Are you aware that it signifies your willingness to be someones "girlfriend" for the night? I personally think it is disgusting to be subjected to seeing someones underwear but then again I don't want to see their ass crack either...
I've heard this, but I think it's a bit off. Here's the origin I got; It dates back to the days of plantations and slavery. When a child would outgrow his/her "wardrobe", it would go directly to the next youngest child, regrdless of age gap. It was not uncommon to see a 4 year old holding up his oversized pants just handed down from big Brother, as he will grow in to them.
I can't quote a source, as he was my neighbor and he passed away at 96 last year. He was a Black man from North Carolina, and one heck of a Guy. i figured he knew of what he spoke.
@Lloyd - while that is entirely possible, I would think if that were truly the reason, the trend would pre-date the 90's. However, I have never heard the "gay" connotation with it, simply that men in prison sag because they lose weight and are not allowed belts. It was then brought to the streets to give one "street cred" for having done time in prison. A google search did result in one associated press article stating the "gay" theory; but my husband, who actually works in a prison, gave me the other version.
Like I said, my neighbor enlightened me with that one, because he basically lived it. He was raised dirt poor and that's all he had, clothes from a brother 6 years older than him. ("Momma wasn't countin on me", he told me.)
One more thing I have to share. I was raised in Hawaii, and in High school (69-72) we didn't wear underwear, period. We also used to "cruise low", which was basically wearing our pants down low (yep, just like today, sometimes lower) and we would pull our shirts up in public, just to basically be a niusance. We were, believe me. This really isn't anything new, just folks are getting shot for it now.
@Lloyd, I was not refuting your version, just that I hadn't heard it. As far as you wearing your pants low, I would certainly believe you did it, no reason for me not to. Being as I grew up in the 80's I didn't personally see this trend until the 90's and it isn't one you see on older T.V., but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Either way, it is a rather ridiculous look and I hope that someday soon people will get over it and start wearing their pants where they belong, though I doubt that will happen.
Yeah. I pulled mine up as soon as I realized i needed to work. So much for being that rebel kid~~
No worries Natedom, I wasn't calling you out on anything. I agree, it is a ridiculous look. But, now that I think about it, the ones doing it now are kind of weak, as they have to have their underwear on. If you're going to offend, do it right and leave the BVD's off~~~~~~~ Now THATS offensive.
Can't tell you how many times my Mom yel;led, "Pull your pants up, I can see your pubic hairs!!"
there would have been no need to run if their pants had been up. i still don't understand the concept. i know most people find it repugnant.not cool man!
Montom, you mean there'd've been no need to run if there hadn't been a psychopath with a gun, right? This is America and while the pants sagging past the butt look isn't practical, it is one of the many legal rights we have, provided that something is covering the butt.
I'm tired of looking at males running around with their total underpants exposed and overpants dragging the ground--and the offender holding his pants up by the crotch. It's the most disgusting, idiotic fashion trend in memory. I don't believe in violence and guns, but secretly I'd like to high-five this Tennessee gunman. As for the boy, go on down to the drugstore and get yourself a sanitary napkin belt and box of pads. That should keep the blood from soiling your shorts till the wound scabs over.
I couldn't agree more Kerry!!! It's sad when kids have to hold their pants up while walking to keep from walking out of them! I, for one, care nothing about seeing someone's underwear, and in some cases, their crack!!! Sickening
live and let live, chief! i agree that it looks stupid. i also think plaid button down tees tucked into jeans looks mighty stupid too, but this IS America, after all......
Kerry, Its not just Males who are doing this.. I was having lunch the other day, and believe it or not, I saw two young girls (probably around 13 or so)(race withheld) wearing shorts, and over the shorts they had sweat pants, with one almost hanging down below here crotch... Im think what the..... ! It looks bad enough when guys do it, now we've gotta see it from women too?
live and let live, chief! i agree that it looks stupid. i also think plaid button down tees tucked into jeans looks mighty stupid too, but this IS America, after all......
That's right. And i don't have to hire the fools, "after all".
Advocating shooting someone because of their thug-style criminal fashion sense is wrong-headed and far more dangerous than my method. When I worked in an office and an intern wore his pants like that I warned him - just once - that if he couldn't keep his pants up I would pull them down whenever I saw him, and I mean whenever I saw him. The next day he wore his pants the same, with about 8" of boxer short showing. He got pants 4 times by me. After that he wore office appropriate clothing.
As for guys holding their crotch, if I see them I ask if they have to "make a pee-pee" and tell them that the last time someone did that in front of me, he was 2 yrs old and had to use the restroom.
It does worry me that these boobs look in the mirror before they leave the house and think, "damn I look good!". I weep for my daughter's generation. A decent dressing man - a man with style and fashion sense - is pretty thin on the ground.
so then you're ok with it? well, i don't like the fact that your hat is backwards so now i get to shoot at you. sounds dumb doesn't it. well, that's what you're starting by agreeing with this dumbass old man. let's see him tell the guys in prison to pull their pants up. he'll end up dead with his pants around his ankles.
LesleMora, apparently you weren't at the club meeting. We also decided that it's OK for golfers to dress like fools, just as long as they're rich enough to belong to the club.
Seriously, I have a very hard time buying the idea that the majority of Americans think anything more than possibly a fine is ever OK for a fashion statement. And even then there'd better be legitimate nudity, as in more than you'd see at a typical beach.
This guy was wrong as wrong can be. If he hates it so much, then pants them. He could have killed someone. You'd be ok with that? Over poor fashion taste? I'd bet that everyone who advocates this hysterical fool's use of a gun have had some pretty shaming fashion pics in your own closets.
I don't like kids wearing their pants sagging down, but this is way over the top. You don't shoot someone because you don't like their style of dress. There is something called the First Amendment in this country and you have the right to express yourself (including style of dress) even if other disagree. Personally, I hope they prosecute this guy to the fullest extent of the law. Furthermore, all of you in here laughing about this or somehow thinking it's justified because you don't like the style, what if someone decides that he/she doesn't like your style of clothing and opens fire on you because of it? Whatever happened to "Live and let live"?
There is something called the First Amendment in this country and you have the right to express yourself (including style of dress) even if other disagree
The First Amendment doesnt protect someone showing their butt in public. I applaud communities who pass decency ordinances that prevent people from grabbing their genitals and wearing exposing outfits beyond locations where they are meant (ie. bathing suits at a pool or the beach).
Well, there should be a law against letting your a** hang out of your pants... same goes for the ones wearing thongs that care to show the world what color they are.....
If they open fire on me then I'll just shoot back, you see, I'm a Neantherdal who believes in the Second Amendment and am ALWAYS armed. Looking forward to Nov 2.
Tracy and others - if it were hot young women letting their ass hang out this way not very many people would be complaining!
Problem is, it's guys who really SHOULDN'T be doing this. Their hairy smelly asses popping out, ew. And like numerous people have said already, it just looks stupid. I think half of them do it knowing it will annoy people.
In closing - UP with pants, DOWN with stupid fashion trends!
I know I'm old because I whine in my head about various current fashion trends. But at the end of the day I just don't really give a @!$%#. For context, consider that near the turn of the 20th century women who wore ("modern") underwear were considered whores. . .
I agree did anyone ever think of the infection this boy could get from that bullet just because you didn't like the way he was dressed. I hope they throw the book at this man then he can go to prison and look at all of the sagging pants.
The guy was just trying to tell the boys how dumb they looked...one of them got it in the end. I can just hear his buddies now...you got shot where?!?!
What this article doesnt say is how the gunman probably threw some racial slurs their way, and then they threw some defamations about he and his mother's sexual endeavors. Then they tried to get attitude in his face, and he felt he was defending himself from them, so he shot.
racial slurs? was one of them out running the other? there's only one race the human race and it comes in all shapes sizes and colors. never studied biology in school, huh!
You are correct - "race" is a classification of humans, however, the use as a synonym for ethnicity is an acceptable use of the word as well. Mocking Cygnus was a little unnecessary I think.
hello..... Southeast Memphis. It would be uncommon for someone not to get shot.
Hahaha. I was thinking the same thing, Jeremy.
As for the topic at hand, of course the vast majority of people would never shoot someone over excessively sagging trousers; myself included. However, the fact that I -- like many others in this forum -- feel a sense of vicarious satisfaction from this story does not make me a psychopath. Now, it would be different if the kid got killed or paralyzed, but he got shot in the a$$. I'm sorry, but that's hilarious.
There is no such thing as the human race. Anybody who thinks there is needs to go back to school. There is the human species, but race is a term used to classify people based on their language, ethnicity, and culture. Maybe someday, with enough interbreeding, there will be a human race, but that will not likely happen for millennia.
SpencerW, you're confusing realms of inquiry. Scientists in general don't use the term race to refer to anything other than humans. The only exception that I'm aware of is with birds, within which separate genetic groupings will be refered to as race.
Suggesting that because scientists don't use the classification that it doesn't exist is just plain silly. I'm not sure why else my dictionary would have a listing for "human race" if it didn't exist.
BS, the kid is still walking around with his pants hanging down... should have shot him in the head, because aparently lead is the only thing that is going to get through his thick scull..
Yeah ok ...shooting is the answer for everything. What if it were your child and someone didn't like the way they spoke or the way they looked....be realistic.
The realistic thing is that nowadays parents dont know how to lay down the laws with their kids and their kids just do whatever they want. If they were my kids, they wouldnt be dressing like that.
The realistic thing is that nowadays parents dont know how to lay down the laws with their kids and their kids just do whatever they want. If they were my kids, they wouldnt be dressing like that.
Oh, please - do you really think this is anything new? I can remember when I was in high school in the late 60s and early 70s, girls would leave the house looking all prim and proper- and the minute they were out of mom and dad's sight, they'd be hiking up their skirts to a "fashionable, cool" length and putting on the makeup they kept in their locker. Once the kids walk out that front door, you have no idea how they're going to be dressed for the rest of the day. Your son could go out with his jeans cinched tight at his waist, and drop them halfway down his butt as soon as he got to school.
Yeah, Brad and David I'm sure nobody ever said the same thing regarding beats, hippies, punks. . . jazz, rock and roll. . . tattoos, piercing. . . I think it looks stupid - but I'm old.
The beats, as in beatniks, I remember when I was dating my first husband, my aunt called him a beatnik just because he had a beard or mabe it was a gotee, dont remember ,that was about 1970 tho, lol, she hadn't learned the new term for long hairs (hippies) yes hippies were disgusting looking but they werent nasty and showing their underwear, that is just sick!
Sorry, I'm with the shooter on this one. I'm sick of seeing these kids and now "grown" men with their underwear (or lack there of) showing. It is tacky and stupid! And if they really think this is a good look, they aren't looking in a mirror to see how bad it really is! Pull em up and wear a belt. You do not look good!
You think this is something that ought to be punishable by firearm? You think it's ok for ordinary citizens to play fashion police and use potentially deadly force?
It's people like YOU that do the most harm to people like me who support the 2nd amendment. You've taken it way, way too far, beyond the realm of logic.
Sean, you don't know how you dress? Do you need me to send you a mirror? Cause I can probably find an extra one at a yard sale for you...hehe.
You are correct about lots and lots of people walking around looking like they got dressed in the dark from out of the dirty laundry bin. I think maybe so many people find this one trend different because it's offensive to them...visible underpants...men grabbing their crotches and butts trying to keep the pants up... I feel equal disgust and revulsion when I see inappropriately dressed women with underwear and body parts hanging out all over the place (Walmart girl with the love handles and crack hanging out of the low-rider jeans, I'm [averting my eyes from] you!) Naturally, I don't physically assault them for crimes against my tender bleach-needing eyes. I really want to know what the rest of this story is. It can't be as simple as "you there! get your pants off the ground!" "screw you, old man, I'll do what I want!" "then enjoy your sore bum!" *BOOM*
Looking like crap vs. having your butt crack and/or underwear showing while one grips their crotch so they can walk....whole 'nother thing. Man should not have shot the kid, but wouldn't it have been funny if he chased him and the kid lost his pants altogether? Kind of a demonstration of the kids poor choice of "fashion".
Fallout: I think you and that comedian are partly right. While it may not have been cops who started it, my father was a police officer and he LOVED it when they would try to run and either have to stop every 3 steps to pull them up or fall down completely and get caught. You can even see it on episodes of "COPS" for pete's sake. My nephew just graduated the academy and I'm sure he will enjoy the thugs making it easier to be caught because they just had to show the world their drawers.
Not only that, but I saw a kid at a store trying to get money out of his pocket, which should have been at his hip but was instead at his ankles so he had to bend way over to get it, showing even more of his butt than before. Pretty soon, the baggy shirts will start looking like smocks because they will have to add pockets to the bottoms of the shirts so their money will be more easily reachable... you watch!
As you can tell by all the crap in the news lately, "Live and Let Live" is a thing of the past. People are being shot and killed for THINKING or BELIEVING differently than someone else. If you do something to offend someone who owns a gun, you better look out. Guns--not common sense and compassion-- are the law of the land!
Kerry, live and let live has never been around. All through history you have examples of the opposite. Whats different, or seems to be, is the media coverage surrounding it. You hear about these incidents more and more because it excites and angers people, causing ratings for the media and more reason for them to feed the flames.
BTW-No gun has ever "woke up" one day and decided to shoot someone. There is someone behind the gun pulling the trigger. You wouldnt blame a car for killing a pedestrian.
John Wayne said that there are two reasons to kill, meat and survival, so I would have to say this man was a little extreme in his actions! What we really have here "is a failure to communicate" lol!
Or maybe in the entire English-speaking world. Confused, if you want to broadcast a message of solidarity and proclaim that you believe all human beings to be entitled to equal human rights, then that's fine and I'm with you. But if you do it in a condescending tone while implying that everyone is using a commonly accepted term wrong, then no one is going to join you in the humanitarian corner. Just sayin'. I think you're trying to say something good here, but I think you can do it better.
There is no such thing as the human race. Anybody who thinks there is needs to go back to school. There is the human species, but race is a term used to classify people based on their language, ethnicity, and culture. Maybe someday, with enough interbreeding, there will be a human race, but that will not likely happen for millennia.
The man, a Mr. Kenneth E. Bonds, was a 45-year-old African American. The "victims" were likely the same race, considering the ethnic spread of the area where the incident occurred.
Not a new way to get to the point but the man needs a little anger control instruction. I have never understand what this way of dress is supposed to accomplish. If it disgust, then they have it down right. Maybe they are proving that they have clean underware on so their mom and dad won't be embarrassed if they have a car accident, I can't wait for until the light bulb goes on over their heads to tell them how stupid the look really is.
This style of dress began in the prisons, the weaker inmates were required to keep their pants loose so the dominant ones could just push them over and slake his se*ual thirst. It also denotes the gay style of the wearer, so when you see one of them it's easy to know how they swing.
I can’t get the image of two teens running down the street like penguins while he took shots at them. He must have had to aim above the pants’ waistline in order to hit him in the behind. LOL
I don't condone any type of violence publicly. But secretly, I hope it made a difference. My husband told me to stop yelling out the window for kids to pull their pants up because I may get shot.
StoneCold - got any impressionable five-year-old daughters? Do they ask you awkward questions and point and stare when men walk by with their underwear hanging out, grabbing their crotches on your own street where she plays in the yard? If your answer to these questions is no, stop judging this woman's urges plz.
I also believe the world doesn't exist just to please me. If I don't like something, tough @!$%#. I don't like dogs, football, rap music, David Letterman, or fat women. But I'm not under the illusion that anybody cares what I like or don't like. As long as no laws are being broken, it's not my problem.
When I saw someone doing something wrong when my children were young, I would tell them right away so they wouldnt try to act that way when they were older, like mabe dressing inappropriately, drinking, doing drugs, cussing etc., because I care about my children more then I care about offending someone!!!!!
It's a damn teenager with baggy pants! Who cares! Shoot a unarmed kid with a gun. What a joke! He should be charged with at least attempted Manslaughter.
You would think that since most of the "thugs" who dress like this are also running from law enforcement that a track suit would be more appropriate... I have never had to nor would I run from the law but I can't imagine holding up your pants while running and ditching the drugs and guns they have is helping them get away.
If you were to walk down the streets in your underwear, you would get stopped, due to Indecent exposure...while that may not be a criminal act..it is not legal, and it is "Indecent"
"Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, looking like a fool with your pants on the ground"!
good thing his pants were down, or he would have got a hole in them.
It really is the look of a complete idiot. I know fashion is cyclical, but once this practice dies, I don't see it ever coming back. It'll go the way of the beehive hairdo. Generations to come will look back and laugh.
I have been dreaming of doing what this man had the courage to do for years!! What an American Hero!
Morons.
I used to wear "rags" pants and 'vans". I had a flock of seaguls haircut too. Yes, I should have been shot!
'bout time one of the "bull elephants" does something!
Jeremy, thats to funny!
Fianchetto, I really hope your ebonics is a joke. If you want to emulate thug culture, be prepared to be shot like a thug. End of story.
I is just lookin after all the bus riden folk ya hear? Thems asses be rubbin on our collective seats yo.
Well it's clear who the menace to society was in this case. Lock his dumb ass up and (brace yourself) TAKE THAT FELON'S GUNS AWAY!!!
I wouldn't object to women taking up the Oh Henry Candy Bar Heiress look.
Roc,
It looks like the Fools is the man that got ARRESTED and will SERVE Time for using a Gun in a Crime....
And people wonder why children use GUNS... LOL LOL LOL ... Adults...try to Gain some Control of your Emotions....
Your words and actions are those of a bigot who either doesn't yet realize that there are positive ways to make a difference or chooses not to exercise them out of willful ignorance...a lot bigger problem than some kid's underwear showing.
too funny roc....
They look like perverted clowns with the pants down that low. Good for the guy, I'm just sorry he is gonna get into trouble. Here in Dallas there is an ordinance against saggng pants and showing underwear. Only thing dallas has done right.
LOL! Before I even scrolled down to the comments that was the first thing that popped into my head!!!! So funny
Roy
As an NRA Life Member, I fully agree with you!(gasp)
Race ya!
My suggestion: don't shoot; shark!!
Sounds like he ripped him a new one.
Shooting someone because you don't like the clothes he's wearing makes you a hero? You're a truly sick individual. How would you like it if someone took exception to something YOU were wearing, and shot you because of it? What's it like being a pathetic loser?

Who gets to be the intellectual judge? I'd say you and plenty of other people in this seed qualify as "dumbasses".
Chaotic
When you walk around in public with your private hanging out and yes your ass is you private then you take what you get. All these people can't be wrong and the law in States are now following and making it illegal. So I guess that makes you the societal "dumbass."
And society gets to judge what is acceptable as a whole. Just as you can't walk around topless this is society being your intellectual judge. To help people who don't have the common sense to act correctly.
It sounds like they got shot for being wisearses not for the pants.
It matters little, if you are living the falling pants lifestyle you are likely catching a bullet sooner or later anyway.
My daughter used to date this kid whose pant were always sagging. The funny thing was that he always wore a belt, but the belt was nothing but a handle for him to hold his pants up from falling down to his ankles.
If I was dressed like a complete @!$%#, then I wouldn't be super pissed about it. I would also like to point out that the guy said "pull your pants up" and then they got all smart-ass on him. Perhaps it was because of their attitudes.
What does it feel like? You're the one that can't take a joke. If you say you have never thought about physically harming someone for being stupid, then you are a liar.
Finally someone stood up for the rest of America. A true hero...
I LOVE this. It made my day.
i give the guy 2 HUGE thumbs up!!!!! personally i always want to put my steel-toed boots into someones azz walking around looking like an idiot, and acting like a punk, but this tops whatever thought i had of doing!!! lmfao!!!
some say fasion statment, or trend, or what have you, i say an idiot. if you make so much as a quick move, your pants are around your ankles for starters, and who wants to see what kind of undergarments you wear?
even when you watch cops, and see guys like these get caught cause their pants fell down as they were "kickin' it" in an attempt to flee, and it turns out to be a weak one at that, but still funny, soesnt amount up to this.... jus too danged funny!
Nah... bklynj beat me to it. A 12 gauge and rock salt. That'll send a clear message. 0_o

You ought to tell them every single time, whether they want to hear it or not. No one wants to see their sorry a$$es hanging out.
My thoughts exactly, Taylor-2125043. I have always said they wore their pants like that to give easy access to their booty buddies.
There are many police officers who have wished they could do exactly what this man did. I'm sure at least one, if not all of the cops involved were sorry they had to arrest him.
Sure makes it easier for the cops to catch them in foot pursuits. Hard to run with the crotch of your pants at your knees.
Don't grenade-troll, Janstince.
...
The dude fired a semi-auto at some teens. They could have been killed. I hope the cops were fine with arresting him.
I guess some people are SO trigger happy they will use ANY excuse to shoot at people.
Tatoo removal will be a real growth industry!!

what is your job here?
on topic, it always cracks me up when the spoiled, suburban white boys wear their pants like this. yeah, you're so ghetto.
Fine, grenade-trolling set aside...
REALLY? You're going to go THERE? I would never shoot a moron for something like this... Why should I give up my right to protect myself and my family because of the few jack@sses out there????
Lloyd:
It's still America for these last few remaining days (however many months we may or may not have left), so feel free to hire those you have trust and faith to conduct themselves as your company would so desire. When it's no longer the American Story to live, then Stalin or her osama or obama may try to force you to hire those you consider to be disgusting.
That's when this region turns into something more liking to the mountains of Pakistan or Afghanistan and its residents will behave in a similar fashion!
Have a nice day, keep your pants up!
Lloyd:
Not sure what You're speaking of. "Stalin or her osama or obama?" Okay- It boils down to one thing-I'm not hiring anyone, regardless of ethnic origin, if they drees like a fool. I never said the person looked disgusting, either.
Lloyd - #1.21
@gerry from texas
You have obviously never heard of arteries. He would have died within a matter of minutes had it been hit. How about YOU learn basic highschool anatomy before talking of the education of others.
Here I even found a case for you(ahhh I'm so generous)

@bklynj
I like this guy. Maybe he should run for public office.
My tax dollars are helping these fools and that makes me mad and so Im glad he shot his butt....
hey a fellow metalhead!
I heard that guy who sang pants on the ground song, was beat to death outside a store because he started singing that to a group of men!
i gotta get that song— where do i find it? too funny!!!
They are imitating convicts. Good for them to get use to a bullet.
Good luck!
Hahahahaha!!!! Lookin' like a fool with your ass bleeding out... Ass bleeding out. =-D
Ha!
I would love to know how that started and why.
Rock salt is the answer for everyone of the boys, young and old, who dress like this.
@Little.. that started in the prison system. As prisoners are not allowed belts and such, they had elastic waists. When someone was trolling for homosexual favors, they would wear them sagging. The lower they sagged the more "willing" the participant...
This guy only did what most of us would love to do.
Good for him.
Its about time someone got tired of looking at crack.
Crack kills!
Political derail deleted.
ya know...
Denis Leary warned you stupid kids nearly 15 years ago... PULL UP YOUR PANTS!
lol, infact... Here's the clip!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQxgv4QtKM8 (contains adult language)
at 5:29 :P "pull up your pants!"
Maybe someone should tell them what it means...
Aww you beat me to it...=(
Roy: sorry but this is pure rebeliousness, sure we had our fads and things back in the 60's but we werent gross about it, that's just plain disgusting, there is such a thing as common decency!!!!!!!
To their credit, I have witnessed young ladies pointing and laughing... all is not lost; however we'll be having the same discussion in 5 years.
klm:
Made sense, as does the prison/weight theory.
Too funny! I have to say, I am very glad they are wearing boxers though.
haha.... they probably would've gotten away faster if their pants were'nt half off.
FYI idiots.... chicks don't dig saggers
there would have been no need to run if their pants had been up. i still don't understand the concept. i know most people find it repugnant.not cool man!
Montom, you mean there'd've been no need to run if there hadn't been a psychopath with a gun, right? This is America and while the pants sagging past the butt look isn't practical, it is one of the many legal rights we have, provided that something is covering the butt.
Or, is it open season on plumbers?
I'm tired of looking at males running around with their total underpants exposed and overpants dragging the ground--and the offender holding his pants up by the crotch. It's the most disgusting, idiotic fashion trend in memory. I don't believe in violence and guns, but secretly I'd like to high-five this Tennessee gunman. As for the boy, go on down to the drugstore and get yourself a sanitary napkin belt and box of pads. That should keep the blood from soiling your shorts till the wound scabs over.
Well then, you actually do believe in violence and guns.
Kerry,
Its not just Males who are doing this..
OK, Think back to the 70's, I was told all the time, Cut Your Hair Hippy. now should I have been shoot for long hair?
That's right. And i don't have to hire the fools, "after all".
Well, now that you mention it.
See also: AFV, "I gotta go doodie" clip......
Says it all...
He should not have not him. But, I know how he felt.
It's about time someone did something about butt flashers. They all look like they've taken a dump.
so then you're ok with it? well, i don't like the fact that your hat is backwards so now i get to shoot at you. sounds dumb doesn't it. well, that's what you're starting by agreeing with this dumbass old man. let's see him tell the guys in prison to pull their pants up. he'll end up dead with his pants around his ankles.
a 12 ga. with rock salt @ crushed glass would have been more effective
You really think this guy will go to prison? He only did what most Americans would like to do.
You've discussed this issue with most Americans?! Wow, you really get around.
Crack Kills
Sometimes it just wounds.
Hahahaha
I don't like kids wearing their pants sagging down, but this is way over the top. You don't shoot someone because you don't like their style of dress. There is something called the First Amendment in this country and you have the right to express yourself (including style of dress) even if other disagree. Personally, I hope they prosecute this guy to the fullest extent of the law. Furthermore, all of you in here laughing about this or somehow thinking it's justified because you don't like the style, what if someone decides that he/she doesn't like your style of clothing and opens fire on you because of it? Whatever happened to "Live and let live"?
The first amendment does not protect dress.
since no one got hurt i think it`s funny, load up the butt shot.
The First Amendment doesnt protect someone showing their butt in public. I applaud communities who pass decency ordinances that prevent people from grabbing their genitals and wearing exposing outfits beyond locations where they are meant (ie. bathing suits at a pool or the beach).
Sorry Chris, but I'm afraid it does indeed protect dress: http://www.bc.edu/bc_org/avp/cas/comm/free_speech/tinker.html
Michael... Ive seen young women doing the same thing here in Dallas.... and it looks just as rediculous on them as it does the guys...
You hit the nail on the head. As I stated earlier, "I'll see your annoyance, and raise you a "sorry, not hired"."
In the buttocks
What this article doesnt say is how the gunman probably threw some racial slurs their way, and then they threw some defamations about he and his mother's sexual endeavors. Then they tried to get attitude in his face, and he felt he was defending himself from them, so he shot.
racial slurs? was one of them out running the other? there's only one race the human race and it comes in all shapes sizes and colors. never studied biology in school, huh!
learned your abd's and 124's though.
Confused,
You are correct - "race" is a classification of humans, however, the use as a synonym for ethnicity is an acceptable use of the word as well. Mocking Cygnus was a little unnecessary I think.
Cygnus_X-1, hello.....
No, what the article didn't say is what color/race anyone was, as if it matters.
confused -
There is no such thing as the human race. Anybody who thinks there is needs to go back to school. There is the human species, but race is a term used to classify people based on their language, ethnicity, and culture. Maybe someday, with enough interbreeding, there will be a human race, but that will not likely happen for millennia.
Last time I checked, the gunman and the "victim" are of the same race so what is your argument?
SpencerW, you're confusing realms of inquiry. Scientists in general don't use the term race to refer to anything other than humans. The only exception that I'm aware of is with birds, within which separate genetic groupings will be refered to as race.
Suggesting that because scientists don't use the classification that it doesn't exist is just plain silly. I'm not sure why else my dictionary would have a listing for "human race" if it didn't exist.
Those interbred people will most likely be the most disgusting people to walk the earth.
it is a sick thing looking at anyone walking aroung looking as if they are carying a load of @!$%# in their pants, they look stink!
That is just insane! So what the kid had his pants sagging, that does not give this man the right to menace let alone shoot the kid.
If they were my kids, they wouldnt be dressing like that.
wow db..we are talking kids here.
DB: It's spelled s-k-u-l-l. Yeah, what we need is an illiterate fashion police authorized to use deadly force on the spot. Who's "scull" is thick?
Brad, right there with you.
I'm sorry but thats Dam Funny. No Butts about it!
So Sean and StopandThink...does that mean you dress like sh*t too? The underwear you have sticking out is probably your g-string.
I dont own a gun and I doubt I ever will. I dont believe the man should have shot the kid, but what's the point of looking like crap?
Sean:
Looking like crap vs. having your butt crack and/or underwear showing while one grips their crotch so they can walk....whole 'nother thing. Man should not have shot the kid, but wouldn't it have been funny if he chased him and the kid lost his pants altogether? Kind of a demonstration of the kids poor choice of "fashion".
I forgot what comedian said that it was probably cops that started the fashion trend so idiots couldn't run away as effectively.
Kerry Daniel:
> If you do something to offend someone who owns a gun, you better look out.
> Guns--not common sense and compassion--are the law of the land!
Its been that way before. Ever watch a Western movie? Westerns are why I stay away from bars and off the street at noon.
John Wayne said that there are two reasons to kill, meat and survival, so I would have to say this man was a little extreme in his actions! What we really have here "is a failure to communicate" lol!
dunno the colors of these people. this could be a hate crime. i guaran-damn-tee ya...
A hate crime against dumbasses. It is not a raced based malfunction.
ignorance we can cure thru training, stupidity however is a permanent affliction as there's nothing we can do for it.
there's only one race the human race and it comes in all shapes sizes and colors. never studied biology in school, huh!
learned your abd's and 124's though.
Confused,
Two can play the repeat game.
You are correct - "race" is a classification of humans, however, the use as a synonym for ethnicity is an acceptable use of the word as well.
In georgia maybe
Or maybe in the entire English-speaking world. Confused, if you want to broadcast a message of solidarity and proclaim that you believe all human beings to be entitled to equal human rights, then that's fine and I'm with you. But if you do it in a condescending tone while implying that everyone is using a commonly accepted term wrong, then no one is going to join you in the humanitarian corner. Just sayin'. I think you're trying to say something good here, but I think you can do it better.
Guess I'll fall in with georgiagal again...

The man, a Mr. Kenneth E. Bonds, was a 45-year-old African American. The "victims" were likely the same race, considering the ethnic spread of the area where the incident occurred.
Thanks Spencer & Violinista!
I hate sagging pants (and the idiots that think it's cool).
I have also wanted to shoot them in the butt.
We should all carry BB guns and shoot them in the brown eye..
Yank, step, push, thud. After a few dozen times they might catch on
HAHAHA made me laugh so hard. Would probably still get arrested on assault charges though if there were witnesses.
Troubled... I would like to be a fly on the wall for these kids in 25 years when they are showing their own children pictures of themselves as teens.
I can’t get the image of two teens running down the street like penguins while he took shots at them. He must have had to aim above the pants’ waistline in order to hit him in the behind. LOL
Thats so funny! It's like being at one of those shooting booths at the carnival. The shooter should win a prize of some sort shouldn't he. hee
ROFLMAO...
it's such a stupid looking style...most folks learn to pull up their pants before they go to pre-school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh wow graywolf and whut....I am laughing out loud!
Graywolf: you're right! If he had aimed at the seat of the kid's pants, he would have shot him in the ankle.... ROFL!!!
I don't condone any type of violence publicly. But secretly, I hope it made a difference. My husband told me to stop yelling out the window for kids to pull their pants up because I may get shot.
Why would you be yelling out the window for kids to pull their pants up? Unless it's your own kid, it's none of your business.
So it looks dumb, so what? You don't like it, look the other way. That's why your neck swivels.
StoneCold - got any impressionable five-year-old daughters? Do they ask you awkward questions and point and stare when men walk by with their underwear hanging out, grabbing their crotches on your own street where she plays in the yard? If your answer to these questions is no, stop judging this woman's urges plz.
If I had any five-year-olds, my answer would be the same: "it's their business and none of ours. They want to look stupid, that's their problem"
Stone, telling them "its not our business" doesnt erase the images from their mind. You cant un-see things.
I don't like rap music, sagging pants, ignorance or StoneCold-363654. Now take that.
Very few disagreements in Tennessee that can't be settled with a gun.
It's a damn teenager with baggy pants! Who cares! Shoot a unarmed kid with a gun. What a joke! He should be charged with at least attempted Manslaughter.
This is a classic example of ; Mad about CRACK ! He was probably wearing a THONG ........................................
You would think that since most of the "thugs" who dress like this are also running from law enforcement that a track suit would be more appropriate... I have never had to nor would I run from the law but I can't imagine holding up your pants while running and ditching the drugs and guns they have is helping them get away.
that's why the cops don't have a problem with it! it makes these idiots easier to catch.
With a TV up on one shoulder and a boombox on the other. Imagine all that goin' on.
@ Sean
If you were to walk down the streets in your underwear, you would get stopped, due to Indecent exposure...while that may not be a criminal act..it is not legal, and it is "Indecent"
