I am sure the people killed and maimed in this terrorist act do not share the same opinion. This bum is a TERRORIST. As far as his daughter is concerned the "apple don't fall too far from the tree." By this nuts' reconing, Timothy McVeith and Osama bin Laden are heros as well. One can't help but notice that while she whines about taxes she is living in a heavily taxed country that actually provides health care for its citizens- I guess she has no problem with paying taxes there and taking advantage of their superior healthcare.
She actually CHOSE to live in Norway because of she gets more government entitlements there than in the US. She said so herself in an interview.
The HERO in this case is the IRS man who died. He served 2 tours in Vietnam and was a 20 year Army verteran.
You sick teabaggers needs to try thinking for once and not support this type of terrorism. The Tea Party = the American Taliban!
RC and everyone else trying to link him to the Tea Party..
NOWHERE in any article is it mentioned that he is member of the Tea Party.. The left has been trying to link him to the party since he crashed his plane to throw more mud on the party.
There are many many different forms of Revolution, so unless know what you are talking about with the Tea Party, kindly stop trying to link it to this guy. Anyone with any common sense (why is it common sense when so many people lack it) can see why the guy did what he did. He blamed the IRS for his problem, and took it out on them.
Everyone wants to put a political spin on this, and the facts are there isnt one. The guy had the anti-big gvmnt ideas of the tea party. He had the rantings of a Progressive, had the money to own a business and a plane so the republican party there since everyone wants to throw anyone who believes in making a profit a republican. He hated the Bush term, so hell throw him in the Democratic party there, not many ppl there like Bush at all.
SO tell me again... How does someone with Ideas from almost every Political Party, get lumped into ONE group? Could it be maybe you just do not like what you see in said party and have to demonize it and the people who believe in things that you do not?
Indeed! I absolutely agree with you, Jamey.
Well said, friend. Bravo.
Most of what he rambled about aligns with the Tea Party way of thinking. You can rationalize it all you want, but out of all the party's you mention, it's the Tea Party that openly advocates this type of behavior.
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then you can't blame people for calling it a duck. His views align very well with the teabaggers, sorry, but you people are scary!
RC
Tea Party = Taliban=freedom fighters=contra= minutemen etc.
Every fight starts some where the terrorist that attacked the British government for unfair taxation would also be described as terrorists.
However History views those people differently. People are speaking out all over the country, I continue to hear the news media marginalize this, saying thing like its just a few radicals they don't really matter.
Or people are just angry ignore them and it will go away.
I don't think the man was crazy or a hero. I don't know what he wanted, and I don't think it matters he reached the end of his rope. I don't think this is the last of this sort of action we will see. People are coming to the end of there ability to cope.
SO since he Quacks like a progressive, hes a tea party member...
Since he quacks like a republican, hes a tea party member...
Since he quacks like a Democrat, hes a tea party member..
Do you realise how idiotic you sound.
besides..
I higly doubt you know anything about the Tea Party besides what Maddow and Oberimen tells you.
I'm gonna join the Tea Party. If the left is so up in arms about it that they resort to LYING about him being a member it can't be all that bad. You wouldn't do that if it wasn't a viable threat to your voter base.
I can't just stand by in the middle splitting my vote any more. The left has totally lost it's mind.
Good one Jeremy, the left hates anything opposed to it and wants so desperately to have this guy be a "tea party" member. Unfortunately he is more far left than anything else. If they could for a moment take off their hatred mask and see things as they are it would be nice.
LOL - rightiskind - I could take your statement and insert 'right' where you wrote 'left'.
Hatred masks evidentially are worn by both sides, not just 'left' or 'right'. Come on, we are getting more and more polarized by the minute and we should really be stopping to think about where this is going to lead all of us.
From what I see, Stack is a combination of both 'left' and 'right' - he was about as middle of the road as most of us are. I do not see him as 'one or the other'. I do see him as a coward who thought only of himself that day.
BJs65 Sorry but he is more left than anything. The hatred the left has for the Tea Party is amazing to me, if you read most of the posts here the "lefties" are trying to paint him as a Tea Party member which is not correct. The left does hate anyone who doesn't line up with their way of thinking, again just look at most posts form the left and you will agree with me.
I have to admit it seems like a Tea party philosophy but I'm not a Republican and I have the same view about Taxes and how out of hand it has gotten, in fact I hold many of the same views like the Second Amendment, and yes I'm a NRA member but that's where we part, as far as Stacks I don't think he was a nut job, this was a citizen that felt there was no other way to solve this problem, you can talk till you're blue in the face and it will not change a damn thing, the IRS will make it hell for you but if you have money or you have political power or political friends this is where it becomes a game of double standards look at how many prominent figures just skated on their tax problems .........
And this is part of the problem, rightiskind. You want to go through the guy's wallet to find out if he has a membership card to an organization. If he does, does that mean the organization is as bad and crazy as he was? No. If he doesn't, does that mean he wasn't exactly aligned with the espoused beliefs of an organization? No.
We need to start judging people for who they are and what they say and do--not painting people with ridiculous brushes like "left" and "right"--as if there are only two kinds of people in America.
Well, you're entitled to your opinion about whether Stark was left or right, but frankly, it really doesn't make a difference.
As far as the 'hatred' you see about Tea Partiers, come on - Pot, meet Kettle. Someone on the left sees it the same way, vice versa. The kind of comments that can come from the 'righties' can be downright horrid towards the *gasp* LIBERALS.
How about YOU look at the posts coming from the right and you will agree with ME.
One of the biggest messages coming from the tea movement is dislike of taxes and government. They are also not shy about advocating "revolution" (its all over these boards) and they are calling this guy a "hero" or telling us they "understand" why he did what he did. Many of us have heard the republicans pandering to the violent side of the movement (even Pawlenty talked about smashing gov't with a golf club). If you all don't want to be lumped together with this potentially violent fringe of the right, you'd better kick them out. My personal opinion is that republicans are worried about them, but don't want to piss them off, and want their votes, so they are trying to have it both ways. And they can't.
I haven't seen a post on here saying he was a member of the Tea Party, just that his stance aligns with Tea Party thinking.
But I'd be willing to bet most, if not all the people calling him a hero ARE Tea Party members or at least wannabe's. And there are blogs popping up with people calling him a hero.
Funny, it used to be the right wing necons the left screamed about. Now it is the right wing tea baggers. Lefties just love labels don't they? Too bad they couldn't at least get their definitions right when they label...
Chris...Pot, meet Kettle.
Righties sure love labels too.
Ditto on the definitions part of it too.
RC...the communist/socialist thinker. Are you sure you're not Obama?
Toss a few labels righties love to use. There just isn't a single one routinely used by the right. Liberal is the closest but it is generally referring to people who actually are spouting liberal rhetoric and it is a broad term anyway. Neocons and Tea-Baggers are a pretty specific definition routinely brushed on anyone who disagrees with a democrat point of view. I have been in the political game for a very long time and seen it a lot. Your post verifies what I said. Your answer missed the point.
We are going to throw this "terrorism" around like we have done "racism" until it means nothing anymore.
A terrorist is a person who kills and/or destroys solely based on Religious or political motives.
This man would have a beef with the IRS regardless of republican or democrat president or his religion. Knowing the IRS fights this probably started under Bush and ended under Obama.
The manner of assault might be shared tactic with many terrorist but the motive is pure anger not terrorism.
I don't think so Chris.
The way I see it, it's ok for "righties" to insult the "lefties" but it's not ok when it comes around.
You really don't think there isn't a routine insult coming from the "righties"? That is a crock of bull and you know it.
Hatred comes from both sides. Take off the blinders.
Neither a hero or a patriot. Simply a deranged fool who rationalized in his mind such an irrational act. Just another liberal fool who thought he was entitled to special dispensation.
uh, I don't think this guy was a lib. Of course being a liberal in Texas would drive a person insane ................
The sad thing is someone was killed. I don't think this incident is about liberal conservative or whatever. When you have a system that is not meeting the needs of the people, and the infrastruture is eroding away, because it is so heavy with beaurcratic bs, people get frustrated. Political participation is not just voting people need to get involved. We are the only country in the world that actually idealize the rich. Why when we spend so much per student we lack as a country to 27 in education we can't produce scientists, or profeciency in math, because in the U.S. people are too busy wishing to be a corporate CEO who makes $52 billion. we are top heavy with business degrees why
You guys need to read his manifesto again. He wasn't with either party. He DEFINITELY wasn't a Tea Party member. He didn't want to pay taxes but wanted health care (doesn't make sense for either party view). Basically he wanted all the handouts, free health care, and not be taxed for it. He pretty much wanted communism.
Theresa, I lived in Austin and it's a majority liberal city. The liberals there drove ME nuts and I an a right leaning Centrist. Altho with all the liberal lies the last few years I get pushed further and further away from the left.
While you can understand the daughter is grieving for her father, her statements are totally misguided and she is very sadly mistaken ...
This guy is NO HERO, he is a mentally ill COWARD who took his delusional, mis-guided anger out on HUNDREDS of people in that office building - and killed and injured innocent people who had nothing to do with his problem
A COWARD who apparently blamed ALL his financial & life problems on the IRS & government, and took no real responsibility for his OWN career failures and lack of change.
A COWARD who complained about being financially ruined ... but he owned a private AIRPLANE and a nice HOME ???
A COWARD who burned down his own HOME - after arguing with his wife (she spent the previous night in a hotel) and then left her and his family to deal with the aftermath
I sure hope this guy's daughter can explain her father being a "hero" to those people who were in the building in Austin.
I think she should have to meet them in person and offer them an apology. Maybe then she'd stop thinking of dear old dad as a hero.
Laurie & Serious
Only after the IRS meets everyone whose lives they've ruined, how about the Army doc who killed 13? He supposedly did it in the name of the Muslim faith? Is he a hero? Stack would be at the end of a long line for apologizing as there are many more that should be ahead of him/her. Leave the daughter alone, you are very angry people today.
rightiskind: This man murdered people. Do you understand that? When good people do not stand up to murder and terror in this country it will be a very sad day. The daughter is not the victim in this situation. You do appear to be happy person, who has not the slightest idea about morality.
She should leave us alone with her moronic opinion. Her father was clearly deranged.
The similarity to the tea party members is crying poormouth about taxes which is clearly a lie. Your life is not in financial ruin if you own a private plane. Most of the teabaggers seem to be the idle rich themselves.
rightiskind - If the daughter wanted to be left alone, she should have kept her mouth shut and declined speaking to the media. Despite cries to the contrary, we are still afforded some freedoms like slamming the phone down when we don't want to talk. Can you imagine calling what her father did "inappropriate"? Yeah, setting your house on fire, flying a plane into a building and killing a man is inappropriate? LOL.
pjt2352 No I am not happy this man murdered an innocent person. Your assertain that the daughter is not a victim shows how little compassion you have for others who are suffering. What you think she isn't suffering? That her dad did this for no good reason (there is never a good reason for murder by the way--even abortion) I am sure she is suffering with what he did. But to paint him as evil as both laurie and serious do but not others who have done far worse surprises me, do you only pick on those who you view as evil and not all?
rightiskind: She has the right to grieve for her father, who she may have loved very much. I am very compassionate for people who are left behind when a loved one does something stupid and/or harmful to others. HOWEVER her statement that her father was a 'hero' when he committed murder and a terrorist act on this country is WRONG. This statement can not be left to stand without comment. When someone commits an evil act it is unfortunate that that persons family and friends often have to answer for the act. This daughters answer was WRONG and highly inappropriate. And my compassion for the family of the murdered victim demands that I stand up and clearly state that I will not condone terrorism.
What makes him any different than your run-of-the-mill MARTYR ?? There are times when you have to fight for what you believe in and sometimes collateral damage is an unfortunate part of the result. It'd be a different story if this government wasn't as overtly corrupt as is it and his perception of it wasn't based in reality. The CORRUPTION is VERY VERY REAL and everyone else was just sitting on their dumb asses, taking it up the backside with no lubrication and a great big "here... let me bend over further for you".
I wonder how long it's gonna take his daughter in Norway to sell her story and Hollywood to make a movie about this crackpot. I hope she never profits, but you know someone will be knocking on her door with an offer.
And AZRANCHER....yesterday's democrats are today's republicans. Don't know why, but it seems to be the way it is.
rightiskind- I am not angry about this guy, just saddened that he did this to people.
Doing something like trying to burn your house down and flying a plane into a building is not a hero, you are hurting/killing people and for what. Is the IRS magically going to change those laws because of this....I think not.
But to take lives of people like that is wrong.
This is domestic terrorism. There is little difference between the Oklahoma City bombing and this "tea party" terrorist attack.
Moron, the guy was a liberal fanatic. Study before you post! What he did is evil no matter who did it.
Liberal fanatics are a fan of high taxes and government spending. This guys views were more conservative in nature. But you are right about the other part, evil no matter what his views.
The guy also wanted universal healthcare. How many conservatives are asking for that?
So maybe fanatic is the only label necessary.
ssg8, where (besides your liberal loony friends on here modding your comment up) do you come up with him being in the Tea Party? And don't cut/paste just pieces of his manifesto saying "this part looks like it" because anyone can cut/paste another part showing the alternative. The guy WASN'T IN THE TEA PARTY. Are the Democrats all losing their minds completely? You're not convincing anyone to move to the left with idiotic lies that destroy credibility.
A tea bagger organizer is praising the guy. He wasn't a tea bagger but some of the tea baggers are admiring him.
Regardless of what political party Mr. Stack belonged to...one thing stands clear. The only party / faction that was quick to praise everything he did, claim he was a martyr and say his action was the first shot heard around the world - were not one but various Tea Party groups. No one on the Left was praising this man. Not many - but a few on the Right were. But go back and look - the number of comments praising this man and his actions, calling him a hero, from the Tea Party followers is staggering.
jeannie-529664 and The Maitre
source?
Tom-1002719 - So maybe fanatic is the only label necessary.
Absolutely agree.
Kind regards,
An non-fanatical liberal
jeannie-529664 and The Maitre
*crickets* - Because they can not provide a source. It is just their shallow-minded, unsubstantiated opinion. It reeks of the desperation that their party is feeling because of their leaders taking this country down a path that a majority of the people do not want to follow.
He was a kook! A shameful person who lashed out at people who most likely had nothing to do with him or his issues.
The nut never falls far from the tree, does it?
You took the words right out of my mouth.
I am sure she is not alone in feeling this way. Twisted, isn't it?
Stack is no better than idiots who get arrested and complain about how the police are unfair. If you don't want to get in trouble with the government, obey the laws. If you don't like the laws work towards changing them or go somewhere else. Attacking people who did not write the law is cowardice in the extreme.
So according to your logic the minuteman that fought the British 'that wrote the law', were probably domestic terrorists also?
So you are trying to equate the spoiled followers of the fat drug addicted blowhard Rush Limbaugh with the American Revolution? You need to draw more parallels than just not wanting to pay taxes.
I thought I read the whole article.
I must have missed all the political conotations.
Are you people listening to Limbaugh as you type?
I understand the daughter is trying to find a way to believe something positive about her dad; but to use the term "hero"...yikes. A hero would have found a way to save a life or change lives without taking any. It's doubtful that any sweeping tax laws are going to change because of his actions either....so he wasted his own life and took another life for nothing. What a shame.
So the minutemen of yesteryear weren't heroes? You are always a terrorist until you win the war (s). Then you are hero's and patriots............ hummmm sounds vaguely familiar.
j burk....The minute men were not killing civilians....They were focused on armed forces wishing to tax them without a voice and live in their homes without a voice among other offenses. They were not killing the tax man they were defending their homes.
Check the history.....It is our legacy.
TXMOM----- Apparently Mr. Obama and yourself didn't go to the same history classes.
The revolutionary war patriots certainlly did attack civilians, a lot of them as well as the tax collectors.
There were a lot of people calling themselves Tories, just like your self that saw it as terrorism, supported the king of England, those people were afttacked as enemies.
Jerry...Given that Mr. Obama was educated in Indonesia in those formative American History years and his mother was well...to the far right of center I do not believe we did receive the same History lessons. Nor would we interpret later course of study in the same light.
Please point me to the literature that shows the Minute men randomly murdered people for doing their jobs.. I will gladly read and research the source.
txmom- Obama went to high school in Hawaii. He went to college also. I am a college graduate, and I took history classes in college also. Maybe he missed fifth grade history. I know he was in Indonesia for third grade. In TX, third grade history is about the community, fourth grade history is about Texas, and fifth grade history is US history. A high school student takes one year of US history, and a college student takes a semester of US history. Obama went on to specialize in constitutional law.
btw, Obama has tried to lower taxes for people like Stack. It is called small business tax deductions.
jeannie...I am aware of his high school and University record. Yes he claims the distinction of a "Constitutional Scholar". I am also a college graduate and I took more than one semester of US History as well as many Government courses in University and Graduated with a BA in Speech Communications as well as a degree in Advertising and Public Relations...honestly, I can spot the propaganda of the Obama image every time the man speaks, and yet that has nothing to do with this conversation.
I am aware of the Texas Curriculum and I can agree with a few exceptions. (we are now discussing the contemporary not the curriculum I was taking in the 60's and 70's Texas school system)
Third grade encompasses more than community to discuss the aspects of US Government in relation to Community as a spring board to broader concepts. Fourth grade is indeed about Texas History. In the scope of the curriculum, Fifth Grade history builds upon concepts of third grade in the same vein as Seventh Grade Texas history builds upon those from fourth grade.
The reason I am painfully aware of this is my Daughter spent fourth and part of fifth grade in Britain where she was studying British and World history. I mention this because I can see how the broader scope of her focus as well as the loss of that continuity in curriculum has colored her approach toward both State and National history. Fortunately, we were in Britain and not elsewhere in the world.
So basically you agree with my statement that given he was educated in Indonesia as well as taught by his right of center mother that his interpretation could be very different from the average American. In my experience that can make a difference and Jerry was just being silly drawing Obama into the conversation.
actually British troops had to escort the tax men because good american patriots, heros like Mr Stack, would attack them, beat them, kill them, and tar and feather them before tying them on a rail and riding them out of town. Thats what started the revolutionary war.
wizbang99...you certainly have that down to a nut shell. Although it is only half a story...and I am not sure if your facts are correct. There was violence between the Sons of Liberty and British Solders because many Colonists refused to abide by the Quartering act. Note the violence between the brave voluntary militia members and British Soldiers. I know there were other instance but truly you cannot put these two instance on the same scale.
Stack would not have been a hero to the colonists. He would have been nothing more than a heretic. He was not worried about the collective rather about only his own interests.
thats what all the colonists were all about, their personal interests. they didnt put the collective above the individual, the state serves the people, not the other way around. The colonists enshrined the rights of the individual, what do you think the bill of rights is all about?
I agree that they did not place the collective above the individual and that the state was to serve the people. The Federal layer had boundaries they were not to cross.
Unfortunately, through time we have had Presidents and a Congress that wish to usurp powers from the State which in turn is taking power away from smaller community and creating a nanny culture for the individual. The farther away the seat of control the more difficult it is for the individual to promote their own interests.
However, burning down ones home and flying a plane into a building of other people living a similar existence is not the answer to bring about change.
It is time our Governors and Senators and Representatives stand up and protect states from a hostile take over. Deal with it through the law not through a violent assault.
your senator and governor and representatives are part of the take over, not part of your protection! when will people wake up and realize that? The business of government IS to GOVERN, and it is only natural then that such an entity will eventually abrogate to itself every aspect of the human condition. You cant win through the law, who do you think appoints the court? It aint you pardner. As for the people in that building, they knew they were part of a corrupt system, they knew they were aiding and abeting the despouiling of the american citizen. They know full well what they do. I dont feel sorry for them at all.
What a pathetic, miserable soul you are.
It is understandable that a daughter would want to find something positive in her father whom she loved.
But after these comments, if the FBI aren't keeping an eye on her, I would be alarmed.
the fbi will be keeping tabs on anyone who dares speak out. They are on this board, writing slanted pieces aimed at only dividing us. They are writers of these articles too., and the editors who approve them for publication. dont think you ever read the whole truth. Clear back in the 60's a courageous congressman had read into the congressional record the names of the newsmen and the nespaper and publishing houses who were on the payroll of the CIA, and there werent many who werent listed there. its all a big show to keep you under control.
wizbang - they should be concerned about you
Im sure they are, but you yourself are probably more dangerous to liberty than I.
It never ceases to amaze me how similar the far right and the Taliban are to each other.
It's one of the great ironies of this world how two groups that are similar to each other have each other as bitter rivals. Christians/Muslims, Greeks/Turks, Isrealis/Pakistanis, Korea/Japan, Conservatives/Taliban. Any others you can think of?
funny
BLS the man was on the left side of the political spectrum. The left quickly gets angry when the taxes fall on their door.
BLS-Sure, Republican and Democrat Politicians! They can't come together FOR the voters on jobs. But they sure can "through mud" at the other party. Too bad that's NOT helping the country.
through/throw.
What never fails to amaze me are those Democrats who pass laws on taxation and then "forget " to pay them until they are offered a higher position.
Im extreme left wing myself, such designatons are no longer that meaningful except to try to categorize people.
"taxes pay more get less",, look at your schools and govt., period
Simple and true "false flag" operation...Anyone dissenting against the govt. is a terrorist...Monkeys...
dissenting does not make one a terrorist. Taking a plane and slamming it into a building in a crowded city because the focus of your rage is in it does make you a terrorist.
The IRS was not the only tenant of that building, there were innocent folks in the street, in that building....how about other victims is the IRS in there trying to sort out the mess the IRS made of their lives!?
Funny...the Muslim extremists use a similar argument in defending their actions. They are not terrorists, they are resisting an oppressive regime. Only when you indiscriminately kill people with the intent of causing terror, whatever your motives, that does make you a terrorist.
catfishpunch...He wasn't a dissenter...He was a person intent on a suicide and decided to take an innocent person with him. In truth he would probably rather had all those normal people just doing a job to take care of their families die.
No sympathy for this coward he did nothing to change the law all he did was die and take a good mans life.
Dissidents take responsibility for their actions. They do not blame everyone else for their misfortunes and mistakes.
txmom, I appreciate your coming out against the violence. We don't usually agree on politics, but I'm glad you call out this type of terrorist behavior when you see it.
there are no innnocent bystanders in war. your all on one side or the other. if your a bystander then your aiding and abeting the rape of the American citizen.
wizbang99...Are you saying this nut started a war? I don't know that he could have started a lucid conversation about Government or Taxes let alone a war.
He was a pathetic excuse of a American.
Im saying a state of war already exists, just that the sheep being sheered dont know it, theyre too busy eating the additives in the food.
So Sorry I missed the declaration. I would suppose the nutters can come creeping out of the recesses and get picked off one by one.
of course you missed the declaration, nose was buried too far in the feed bag.
Hero!? I am sorry dear, heros do not murder people. That is what he did. It was not "inappropriate", it was murder. It was an act of terrorism.
I am no fan of the IRS. It could get disbanded and every employee laid off and I would throw a party. They are abusive, and a total waste of taxpayer dollars. That being said, it is NEVER alright to take a life for property. I have no doubt the IRS pushed and pushed and pushed this guy. I have no doubt they abused the crap out of him. I have no doubt he was justifiably enraged, but that does not justify an act of terrorism. His actions killed someone. he could have easily completely missed his target and killed folks who have nothing to do with the IRS. He simply was so ticked he did not care.
The news needs to stop posting this crap. He was not a hero.
The IRS has a job to do just as every agency does. They are no less predatory than many major corporations in this country who benefit from much less transparency and advertising dollars that continuously remind us how useful they are.
And even if we went to a FLAT TAX system, who do you think is going to manage that mess for us? The IRS, and just as there are loopholes with the current system, there will be loopholes in that system as well. People always find a way to circumvent and exploit the system to fit their *own* needs and desires.
If you read his letter, you'd see how this guy was all over the place. The views he expressed were both conservative and liberal.
Too bad he wasn't able to seek the help that he truly needed and deserved.
You say you oppose the IRS, talk is cheap! Everyone says they don't like the tax laws and just go on like no big deal. I don'tagree with killing innocent people like he did, he had enough! So what do you do? Looks to me like no one else will do anything! This story will blow over and then it will be business as usual for big taxes and the government. What he did was wrong, but he wanted to wake people up to the high taxes in this country. I, as a citizen of the United States should not have to fear the government is going to lock me up for failing to pay my INCOME taxes or filing them wrong, which is what they do. Also they can freeze your bank account at the blink of an eye. But you all don't have to worry, as long as your good boys and girls, and do what they say. I believe in taxes, but not the way they're taking them from us. Our military and infrastructure needs funded somehow! Me, as a responsible citizen, am fighting for a fair tax system. Where everyone pays a fair share. It would work too, if more people would fight for it. But then again, talk is cheap for most people on this site, so nothing will be done and we will read about a story like this down the road! Dennis Miller is like you all too, he doesn't think they'll ever be a fair tax! What an ass!
have to disagree with ya there. I have had 2 occasions when I had issues with a return. They immediately sent VERY threatening letters as a first notice that there was an issue with my return. I went directly to their local office and not a single soul there could give me any information on my issue. They did not even know how to read the readout, or the information they pulled onto their computers on my return.
They would give me no escalation path, nobody else to talk to, no manager, nothing. They told me, "Quit asking questions and pay us.". This is not podunk, Arkansas, this was in Charlotte, NC a major banking and financial center. Yet they did not have staff here to assist and threatened to push fines on me if I did not pay now without any explanation on why they though I owed more.
I had to involve a congressman, and an accountant to get them to finally assist me. That is predatory. That is abusive.
I have dealt with the State Department for an issue with my Birth certificate (I was born on a US army base abroad). They were helpful, polite and professional. I had to deal with veterans affairs for something with my grandfathers estate, helpful and easy to deal with. This is an IRS issue.
That being said, I NEVER, repeat NEVER even considered doing harm to someone over it. This man was flat out a murderer. I bring up my own experience with them to highlight, MANY of us despise this agency, yet we do not take to attacking the employees working there.
blubal42.... in this country we do not run for the guns every second an agency screws us. We have a system to work through. If we went attacking government officials everytime they abused us, this country would cease to exist. As bad as things got, I doubt anyone seriously considers how bad it would get in that case (think Katrina on a nationwide scale, except no red cross, or FEMA, or anyone coming to help you).
So what do you do? Financially support organizations working against it. Contact congressman, news agencies, go to rallies..I can say, loading a plane up with fuel and ramming it into an agency office, not on the list. Amongst other things, he lost a lot of folks who would have supported him and he silenced his voice for them. You think they shed a single tear over his situation now?
13directors - having both liberal and conservative views is "all over the place", How radical! Really? You can't be both? Not to defend this guy, but, it's idiots like you who can only see things one way that represent the downfall of this country.
that we dont run for guns every time we are screwed by a governemnt agency is precisely the reason they screw us, continue to screw us, and will always screw us. The founding fathers made sure we HAD guns so we could do precisely that, while you sheep are wailing to have them taken away, sheep must like the screwing they get.
Ask anyone what is the most hated date on the calendar and they will say April 15. Unless of course, you are one of the parasites who don't pay taxes.
Hey - that's my birthday! I love April 15th and
i pay taxes.
most would say 9/11, not 4/15............ yet another person that loves the property he owns, public schools and support for the eldery, healthcare for kids and elderly that cannot afford it, public roadways and yet thinks it is all free. Our infrastructure is a tax based support sytem. No taxes, no interstate hwy system. No taxes, no social security for kids whose parents got in a car wreck and cannot work, or worse, died that way, no taxes no care for the elderly. Get a grip. Freedom and our way of life is not free.
PAVenturer,
Do the presents you get cancel out the check you write to the IRS? LOL
i own two houses and came from dirt poor and picking cotton as a teenager. I enjoy the fact I have an nice sizeable income to pay taxes from. That is the promise of america. I have only one mortgage now but pay lots and lots of property tax gladly becuase I enjoy the property so fully and roads leading to it must be maintained. The ISD my kids are in must be maintained. The public waterworks must be maintained, the streets, the street lights and bulbs that make our roads travelable must be maintained. What grown up does not know what taxes also pay for other than the rich to get richer. The poor avoid starvation as well, yet the poor cannot open a business to employ anyone.
PAVenturer,
I'm a parasite I guess. I made 11,000.00 in 2009. The last time I made mid-forties was 2007.
I'm really happy to know that you're fairing much better than I during this economic turndown. One day I'll be back on my feet paying as much or perhaps even more than you.
In the mean time, thank you for not abandoning me. I am an America Citizen after all.
booohooohoooo......OK, OK, I give. You're right...boohooohooo...Barack, come on in. I have a check for you...boohooohooo.........Is 65% of my income enough...boohoohoooo....I feel so guility....booohooohooooo.....All those homeless people.....boooohooohoooo......I can't take it anymore....booohooohooo.................
dont get me wrong ben, I would rather keep all my money, but it is a fact of life that poverty generates poverty, wealth at least has the potential to generate wealth. I am no liberal but I am also educated and understand more about what taxes are used for other than from the soundbites you get from the news. I live in the real world and nothing is free. My oldest is in college and I make to much to get freebies i would get if we were poor. I dont get the free "earned" income credit which is actually money for money you did not "earn". funny how that works. I dont agree with the distribution, but the alternative is much worse. I made it out of poverty by hard work, but also by using the earned income credit to pay for college when I was struggling. I dont bite the hand, or fly a plane into it.
ben, you , like joe the plumber, are lost in your neocon haze that makes you identify with the very master that disowns you as white trash. joe the plumber is in obscurity right now and was used up and tossed like two squares of asswipe paper. You celebrate the rush's of the country and all the while they are ashamed of you ordinary types. You are not a member of the GOP, just GOPHERS. It is like the ugly guy that is hanging on the nuts of the good looking guy hoping for his scraps. If you are not a member of the power elite, having both money and power, then you are just in denial of your true lot in life.
Kevin S,
Roads and infrastructure are a very small part of the federal budget. Most are social programs like welfare, Medicare, food stamps, social security and a million other programs. We have to get rid of all these programs because they cannot be sustained. It is bankrupting the country. Charity should be from the heart, not the hammer and sickle.
and charity is going to start with you isn't it Ben?
13directors,
That is absolutely correct. A month ago, a lady came up to me and asked for money to buy a prescription for her sick child. She said she wouldn't get paid until another four days and her child needed the prescription very badly. I took her to the drug store and paid for her prescription. That is what I consider charity. What is your definition of charity? Obama said that paying more taxes is just being a good neighbor. Is that the way you feel?
btw-Ben, the Pentagon budget receives more than half of spending. Your argument wouldn't be so porous if you had included these numbers in your figures as well.
13directors
The military is not a social program. Unlike social programs, everyone agrees that the military, fire department and police department are necessary. They have been around long before the New Deal.
I call BS on you Ben. A lady randomly walked up to you and asked you to pay for a prescription for her sick child? And you did it, no questions asked?
Yeah, right.
RC,
You apparently won't give the benefit of the doubt to someone in need. I could not say no. She might have been lying (probably was) to get some drugs for herself, but I had no way of knowing. I might have been duped, but in such a case, I erred on the side of caution. So should you.
We could save a ton of tax money by changing the way we interfere in other countries' business, which breeds hatred and terrorism, and by stopping the fake war on terror (remember how we were first told that if we "fought them over there" that they "wouldn't come over here" - now they tell us that they ARE here and ARE going to hit us.), Gee, I'm sure glad we've spent a trillion bucks and counting. Remember that on tax day. Remember that the bulk of your taxes are going to the fake war on terror. There's your real complaint.
bonos,
I agree. Why are we still over there? Bring the troops home. Obama ran as the anti-war candidate and have asked for war funding through at least 2011 and maybe beyond. So much for change.
All I said was that April 15th is my B-day. I don't know how that makes me "fair much better." However, I am not an anarchist and believe that taxes are a necessary evil. I'm not saying that I agree with everything that my tax dollar support - just saying taxes are necessary.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To follow up your comment about tax savings resulting from ending the war on terror, I have an even better solution to save money; cut military spending by 10% or more.
As it is, the U.S. spends more than the rest of the world combined on defence (last time I heard anyway) and much of that is focused on Cold War style technologies (which assumes a fight between a nation having a large, advanced army) and less on the sort of insurgencies that the U.S. seems to spend most of its time fighting. Also, the stories of Defence spending waste or pork are absolutely legendary. Remember the $50 pens? What about designing hundreads of prototypes then deciding "oh we don't need this?" Redundant weapon systems? etc. The truth is billions and billions of dollars could be cut from the defence budget and the U.S. would still maintain its standing as the world's top military power. The reason for much of this spending is pure pork yet the right doesn't seem to want to touch this issue with a ten foot pole.
I find it funny how in all the dicussions regarding cutting spending, defence seems to be sacrosanct, as if people don't want to admit that there are a lot of wasteful policies and programs. Unfortunately the moment someone calls for defence cuts, someone else (usually the right) will cynically scream "WEAK ON DEFENCE!" at the top of their lungs as if cutting ineffective and wasteful projects would make the U.S. immediately suspectible to foreign invasion.
I find this sort of hypocrisy beyond frustrating.
Too bad so many politicians are so cyncial and unscrupulous to make such arguments and that people are too hysterical and/or stupid to see through the bull on this topic.
Ben, good for you! You went to the counter with her and bought it for her, the left would never do that as it is their money and they won't part with it. The left should also know that you can send MORE money to the government than you owe in taxes, if everyone who says they want all these programs would send an extra $1,000.00 per year to the fed's we really could have all these programs--if they would really put their money where their mouth is. But I know that would never happen as they only want to spend other people's money, not their own. Shame on those on the left!
If my child has a chronic condition like copd from premature birth I should rely on the kindness of strangers outside the drugstore? Does Ben have the $300 a month for just one of those medications? Instead we need to rein in the drug companies who are gouging the sick and gouging the USA. They charge less in countries, Japan and Canada, for the same drugs that control their avarice.
oldnewgrad,
If you don't pay, someone else has to. You don't like the drug companies gouging, but you rather gouge the American worker instead because it is they who has to pay if you don't. Canada has cheaper drugs because the Canadian workers are gouged to pay for it. Nothing is free.
13 Directors - the military budget is NOT "half of spending" --It's about 600 Billion a year, maybe 700, of which about 70 % is PAY for the troops. How much would YOU take to get shot at on a daily basis?
I used to get $125 a month in Vietnam, and that was good!
The U.S. spends over 4 TRILLION dollars a year on welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.
The system is out of control, and we have to fix it.
My prayers to the Hunter family at this tragic time. Sadly, a good man died that day but the hands of a deranged, selfish human being. What a sadness that we will showcase the nuts in this world.
Bless the son who will stand up and speak on his fathers behalf. Vernon Bell is the American Patriot in this story.
As for the daughter who would even consider the needles death and destruction of her unstable fathers suicide as anything but appalling...well I will pray for her too, because you just don't champion cowardice and malice without being rather defective yourself.
Yes, and to think that she has kids herself. Oh joy.
Yep...kids living off a socialist system that cares for their every need...as a mom she isn't compelled to truly provide. How sad is that? Pop out kids and leave it to the politicians to provide...Oh wait we do that here too but the masses are just not satisfied.
txmom
I am sure you will be voting for the conservative canidate this next election as all those on the left advocate exactly what you wrote above. How can this woman appall you so bad when she lives the leftist dream?
rightiskind...I could care less where she lives I am appalled that she would actually voice anything beyond condolence to the Hunter family for the murder of their father, Vernon Hunter.
The sad fact is there are probably crazy people in this country who did listen to his bastardized message and might see him for something he was not.
I vote for the candidate. If I feel the candidate is not representing my interest he or she will not receive my vote. I like my Congressman and the Senator that will remain in Washington....They are fighting...seriously fighting to represent my interests.
txmom, I see you didn't indicate which party you vote for which I assume you vote left from all the comments I have seen from you. It's amazing how when the left is confronted with their own ideals, which you did with this woman and then must concede that you are really conservative, you run and hide. This must be a tough day for you, please try to have some compassion for the daughter as well.
rightiskind, it is idiotic to assume you know how someone votes just because they disagree with you on Newsvine. Brace yourself: some people are capable of independent thought. I've seen txmom32 on the vines several times. Sometimes I agree with her; sometimes I don't. It's not important to me to pidgeon hold her into a 'left' or 'right' category. If you find you must do this with even anonymous people you interact with on the internet, you should give yourself a political time out.
rightiskind...I am a libertarian leaning conservative. I love what the Founding Father's put into motion. I truly believe that the human spirit can thrive in our nation to work for the American dream even in they year 2010.
I do not care for all of the feel good special interest groups that must have special laws...There is no need this is America and THE PEOPLE accounts for each of us. As for those who live off the State...shame on them if they abuse the generosity that is intended to offer a hand up. I believe that people can face very hard times, I also believe that when people are faced with hard times in the United States of America they can regroup and rise again. That is the promise of our Founding Fathers. Each can make their own way. Each can make reasonable decisions without a Nanny State.
I also believe it is not an act of Patriotism to murder another human being just because you are unhappy. Nor do I believe one should hold this selfish insanity in any high esteem.
so rightiskind...let me suppose you are one of those neo-conservatives that young Republicans are ready to place in the back of the room with Old Uncle Joe spouting some embarrassing rhetoric. One of those old democrats that burrowed your way into the Republican Party to change the scope from small government, low taxes and independent thought to those DNC values of promoting some form of social design.
As a conservative I am as tired of the Left fringe as I am of the right fringe. I think both groups should elect to retire to some ashram in the desert and spend the rest of your lives trying to impose your lunacy and will on each other. Let the rest of us who are old enough and wise enough to make sound decisions live our lives in peace and prosperity.
txmom, from what I have seen fo your posts you surprise me and if what you write is true I apologize for calling you leftie or somethign like that. I too believe the government should be much smaller, no more special interest groups, the government should provide military, police, fire, and roads. We should not be spending so much money abroad, join me in voting for Ron Paul?
rightskin...I actually have voted for him before as my representative, I am no longer in his district. I think he would be a fine President and I believe we would definitely see change. I think the down side of Ron Paul as President is many States would find themselves in a position to actually Govern in a way that States have not been afforded since the Civil War.
As for the next Presidential Election. I think before committing to any candidate they have to put their hat in the ring. I think I will reserve the decision of my vote for a time when there are actually Candidates running.
One man's meat in another man's poison. A terrorist or insurgent to some is a hero, patriot, and freedom fighter to others. One side will never convince the other side to see things their way. There will always be black and white and good and evil.
Unfortunately, the definitions of good and evil are subjective and often changed to fit the needs of a group or individual.
as is SIN.
he left his family, a wife and kid, without a father/husband, or even house. they were left in a motel to survive alone for how long. This guy burned the home they could still be in. He was selfish and killed a man that was just going to work to do his job. Guess that is whats good about being white. This nutjob , like mc viegh, are hailed as heros because they did not have a towel on thier heads or brown skin.
You forgot to add that they will not get a cent in insurance money as all those acts were intentional. In addition the estate will be the target of civil suits so he effectively destroyed his own family.
Sure, he's a hero.
If the property was in his wife's name, she will get something. Just because somebody goes nuts and torches your home doesn't mean the insurance company gets off scott free.
Even life insurance policies will pay out if the policy had been held for more than two years' time.
The civil suits will be against the husband's share only and cannot touch the wife. If the property was in his name only, they will get it all.

At least until the time people grow up and start to see the world as it is truly is; in shades of grey and stop seeing themselves as angels and all those they disagree with as being akin to demons.
I'm not holding my breath.
Kevin, the race card? Really? C'mon, man! Your post was excellent until the last two lines. Nobody is hailing this guy, or McVeigh, as a hero - black or white. What both of them did was wrong regardless of their skin color. Anybody stating otherwise is either a family member or looking for attention.
he probably torched the house because he knew the IRS was going to sieze and auction it. Good for him.
Huh???????
The article is a mess, and the daughter is a complete moron.
This really doesn't surprise me. There is so much talk of revolution, take back the country, and immediate peril to our way of life. Most folks just blow off a little steam and go their way. Some, like this guy take it to the extreme.
His daughter is in total denial. If someone flies a plane into her or her families workplace, will they be a hero, as well? My car broke down, yesterday. I guess if I fly my plane into the GM auto plant, I'd be a hero, too.
Wolf, reading comprehension not your strong point? She said what he did was wrong. She stated that the fact he stood up and protested was heroic. I agree with her. I dont like what he did, but see his point. Dont like these things happening? Then scream like heck for our government to return to being of the people by the people for the people.
'Daughter: Pilot in Texas IRS crash was a martyr'.
I'm sure this is what the Tea Baggers are thinking.
BLS, the Tea Party see's this for what it is, a thoughtless act of terrorism on innocent people. I pray for Mr. Hunter and his family, but I also pray for Stack and his family as both need our prayers. The hate you preach only serves to fuel the division in this country, and demonizing the Tea Party just because we believe there is a bteer way scares me. The hatred you and other lefties have is the kind that helped fuel Mr. Stack, please try to have more compassion.
Excuse me, but the so-called "Tea Party" nimrods deserve no compassion-but exposure as traitors-demigods who would strip those who voted out the Republican greed and death machine by a legal and democratic process of the rightful government. Now you tin horns who don't want equality and affordable health care for all use murderers as your sounding board! Guess what-the people of the US will never stand for such tyranny as you would inflict-and you've just ripped the mask of civility off by applauding this killer-you all belong in jail!
BLS, drop the 'L' out of your name and it would be appropriate for you and your shallow comments.
jtbwriter, you really should join the rest of us here in reality. You have issues. We belong in jail? You belong in a mental ward!
I understand the daughter wanting to think her dad was a hero, but she is sorely misguided. This was an act of domestic terrorism, with the potential to cause as much death as did Timothy McVeigh. I can understand someone become frustrated with bureaocracy, but, hey, we all pay taxes. These taxes support our way of life, though sometimes we don't all agree on how it is spent. We best make our revolutions at the ballot box and through public demonstrations, not by flying planes into buildings and killing our fellow citizens.
IMHO - He did not target any CITIZEN but a SYMBOL OF ITS OPPRESSION.
BTW - OKLA was a false flag, try doing some research and always be aware that the THEY are always BUSY covering/altering/confusing reality.
An OVER VIEW on all of this.... the truly UGLY yet perhaps real truth is that this incident will be used to further the grasp of our modern police state.
I must constantly and without hubris.... remind myself that most people are simply not very educated about the reality of "god & government" or, since the seperation of church and state, which people like TJ held so highly, has not only been breeched yet overflooded with psurdo religio attachments, it is better that we refer to it now as GODVERMENT!?
911 was an inside job and over 1000 scientists, engineers, pilots etcetera agree yet you, you the PEOPLE have read enough and know enough to know for certain that your government could never do such a thing and that no presidence exists to think otherwise :D
Bill, very well said. If we can all have compassion for those who have differing opinions and agree we need less hate speech which alot of these posts have, things could be so much better.
neopo's tinfoil hat is on a little too tight
neopos the only one with any sense.
Neopo - Only your first sentence has any truth at all. The rest of your post is exactly wrong.
Your conspiracy assumption about the Murrah Building bombing is wrong. The facts are clear and they are clearly spelled out in the final report - which was performed by independent (non-government) specialists. Trust me, if you read somewhere that the bomb size and loading that is cited in the report could not do the damage that occurred, then you might as well be reading a comic book. They are definitely wrong. All those conspiracy claims have been fully debunked by people that actually know something about this.
I for one, have studied the events of 1993 (WTC), 1995 (Murrah Bldg) and 9-11-2001 in great detail and with significant insight and knowledge. Those that claim an inside job are flat out wrong. Since I am a structural engineer by trade and have designed and analyzed structures for abnormal loadings for all of my career, I have a lot more knowledge than the kooks you cite.
BTW - this is NOT terrorism. It is another form of workplace violence - it's just that this kook had access to a plane instead of explosives or being able to get automatic weapons past security screening.
you yourself studied these bombings with great insight and knowledge...? wow, then we are all safe thanx to you, what a man! you should be the president...hahahahahaha. thank god for your GREAT INSIGHT and KNOWLEDGE. oh yeah, you might throw in there your amazing humility too! hahaha.
I can not and will not condone what this man done, but it is plain to see that as his daughter stated, this letter did not sound like her dad, this should be an eye opener for our government to see that bill collectors drive a person off a cliff and the relentless ways the government go about collecting a tax is wrong, they have passed laws to stop companies from collecting the way they do, but exempted themselves from these types of laws, rules and regulations, it is not only in the form of tax collecting, it is in the way of government, Stacks was tired of "Government" they drove him overboard, it can happen to anyone that begins to suffer anxiety, depression, and low self esteem from the hounding, and wondering why we as small business owners are not given some leeway to keep the business open and grow to maintain employees, and be a vital part of the american economy, in short, the government is at fault in a lot (not every way) of ways for the failure of the american small business owner, its sad that an innocent person died this way, I shall remember that family in my prayers, and pray that the government is listening to the message which I hope the people get, and remember,
People try and cheat the government more than other agencies. Schools, roads and infrastructure depend on the tax system. Is it fair? I don't know. I just know I pay it before I even see the money. I get back some every year and that is the end of it for me. I am not rich and haven't many deductions.
JK, if our government would spend the money on the things we need such as what you stated, and stop this won-ton spending spree they are on, and stop the waste of the money it collects, (and I can not, and need not tell of all the waste, you know what it is) and stop bailing out the big business with your tax dollars, it could LOWER taxes and and we would pay our taxes gladly, and still have more of our own money to spend locally and support our economy, and the big brother could give us more of the things it should give us that we REALLY need, the things YOU mentioned. Then and only then the government could stop "terrorizing" the american tax payer, and you could then buy more for your family, for your taxes would be lower
dr juan-
when you support a terrorist your ideas loose all credibility. This guy thought he had a way to skip out on paying taxes and then blames the IRS when he wound up with a big tax bill. This isn't the government's fault. It is his.
he may have been unbalanced, distrubed, depressed...but he was not a hero
Don,
when you own a business and are required to maintain a minimum amount of insurance to maintain the contracts that make your business work, insurance that overcharges you because you "have" to have it, and the government allows them to over charge you, and then the government themselves over taxes you, on every little thing they can tax you on, and then hound you for a "penny" and I mean hound you to death, something is wrong with the system, you apparently have never owned a business, or atleast one that was legal, and I DID NOT anywhere in my writing support terrorism, nor do I think he is a hero,
dr juan, you are exactly right! Anyone hounded enough can snap, most not to this extent but they can certainly "have had enough". No one condones what Stack did, but those who have been there know what he went through and can sympathize with his situation. Hopefully this tragedy will have a positive outcome, make government for the people and by the people again.
If starting, running, managing and making a profit in a business you built from the ground up - was easy - everyone would be doing it. The fact is most small businesses are underfunded, mismanaged or at least not professionally managed. So they end up failing in the first 6 months to a year, then by year 5 less than 10% of them are still operating.
However, we have a system where you can start again ... if you are brave enough, smart enough and learn from your mistakes.
The down fall of small business is as money moves through your hands ... people start thinking it their money, all of it. They forget about taxes, forget about paying their suppliers, wages, rent, utilities, bad days and "Act of God" disasters.
Reality hits you like that first real job a teenager gets. What the hell is "FICA" and why do they get so much of my hard earned money. I'm gonna retire by the time I'm 25, so why do I need to pay into social security? Why do people with kids get deductions and I don't, I have a fancy car to support - I need all my check!
Then they grow up...suddenly, Day care for the kids and free Public education don't seem so stupid.
I've helped people who come to the USA for the first time... they are surprised to see a real supermarket, to go to a store and people let you try on clothes - that what you bought is actually delivered to your house without you having to hunt the guy down a threaten his family before you get your paid for goods or your money back.
I seriously wished more Americans would travel and see the world, it ought to be a requirement, same as The draft ought to be mandatory. A few years "without freedom" would go a long way toward making you appreciate it when you come home or return to civilian life.
ok, get this, I lost a business to fire, Jan 9th, the same year the county and city both gave walmart a 7 year free pass on "TAXES" now my business is going to be rebuilt, ground up, possibility of 8 months for the new erection of a building, there for 8 months of "NO INCOME FOR ME" the county and state still sends me a tax statement on my business for the complete year, I step in and ask for a "tax abatement" just a little relief for the 8 months I was going to be with out that business, and all they tell me "to bad" pay it !!!! Why, because big government allows laws to be passed so major corporations do not have to pay taxes and us little bastards get taxed to death, in 7 years walmart will be building a new building down the road and getting another 7 year free pass on their taxes, WHY IS THAT, oh, and by the way, if I do not pay the taxes for that year, they take the land from me, and hound me to death,
Now for part 2, the 10 % that survive 5 years mostly did so because they are forced to hide all the income they can so they can maintain that business for 5 years to get their clientele built, and get their footing on solid ground, but God help those that get caught hiding income, they will strip you of everything you worked day and night for, and I never took even a weekend vacation when I was starting a business, as a matter of fact, I only took 3 vacations in 23 years,
point being, those businesses that fail in 1 to 5 years, some are ill run, most are not, but our government does not and will not cut the small business owner any slack to help us become a vital part of a positive economy, they have one provision after another for major corporations, and people like you wonder how come so many of us fail, and then say "go to another country and see what they do" well I have to work to hard, so I dont have time to go and my taxes are so high I cant afford to go, if I have extra money at the end of the year, they take it for "taxes on my starting inventory"
go start a small business, better yet, do it out of your pocket without a bank note in hopes that you will save money on interest and find out you loose a "tax credit" for "not having a "bank note" you either pay the big brother banks, or you pay big daddy government, seems like a fine or a sentence for not having a note at the bank, it all makes sense to someone that has been there, but everyone that argues with it is apparently still living on a week to week paycheck, or works for a major corporation with big tax free bonuses paid out of my taxes paid in, or is illegal and gets everything for free, oh and by the way, if I dont pay those taxes so they can Jose's rent next door, they hound me to death and take away my house for "non payment" yes I am sour, and you should be also
I thought "business insurance" took care of that?
Financing your business, "out of Pocket", is a great way to save money - but, as you mention, it does not come without attached risks.
"Life is a banquet ... yet there a people starving to death".
All endeavors carry risks as well as rewards. As a kid, I was awed by the number of Explorers that "discovered" far way lands, brought back treasure from the New world, Founded colonies, discovered Radium, Uranium - brought in the age of Plastics, Chemistry.
What they don't put in the history books are the failures, the underfunded expeditions, the "hostile" tribes that resisted subjugation, the Scientist who - unaware of the risk, died from radiation poisoning, even after receiving a Nobel prize.
Few talk about the failures, the fiasco's or what was lost, destroyed to achieve the one bright, shining success.
Maybe, if they had known all the risks they would not have taken the chances they did to reach their goals. But, the fact is business, like any new birth - has to reach a point of viability before it can sustain life on its own. Starting a business with hope for the future and no sense of the reality of the present, is similar to starting a family during a drought, in an arid land - on a farm growing watermelons.
It might work, but the odds are not that good.
Human beings are intelligent, have the ability to reason and plan for the future - it would be better if more used all of those gifts before relying on luck, exceptions and desire.
There are no guarantees. No do overs, on Oopsies - one ticket per customer is the rule. Unfortunately, a few decide to "jump off the ride" before the good stuff shows up...even worse, they take others with them, too afraid to go it alone?
Stack was a suicide bomber and no different than any al Qaeda terrorist. The POS killed and injured innocent people and should be dumped in a garbage heap and forgotten.
