Triumph indeed. History show us that for every “drug kingpin” removed there are dozens just waiting to fill that vacancy. No doubt there will be turf wars and numerous murders as the candidates wage war on one another to fill this vacancy. The government has captured one kingpin only to have another kingpin in place before the dust has settled, and at what cost?

They put this up to somehow justify that 69 people died in just ONE day either yesterday or the day before. Our Government officials responsible for the Drug War should be tried in Criminal court for crimes against humanity and democracy for pursuing Laws no longer supported by the Majority of Americans.

I agree. Then go after the tobacco, alcohol, and pharmaceutical companies that lobby to keep certain drugs illegal to keep competition down and make themselves look like the good guys. Without them, this guy would have had to get a normal job, in which he wouldn't have the opportunity to kill hundreds of people. (and don't forget the privately owned prisons, which would go out of business without the war on drugs)

Execute any person who is found guilty of possession of illegal substance. Why spend all this money and time to try to get the guys at the top. Start with the users at the bottom. Use CA's 3 times and your out...........forever. America's War on Drugs should start at home, not in Mexico or Columbia.

Pretty much. Legalizing marijuana would solve some of the problems (obviously they would still import other drugs). The lower prices here are for drugs the less problems Mexico will have.
As it turns out Caulderon is doing a fantastic job on his side of the border. Too bad the US still feeds the demand for drugs and sends so dern many arms back to Mexico, or he would have won already.

For all the arrogance we view the country to our south. At least they are waging a war worth fighting, and appear to be making more traction with less resources. Something to think about.

Nice...but really so what? This country with it's lax border patrol got lucky...Homeland Security really needs to "beef up" the borders..these mexians are like cockroaches they manage to find another way to get in no matter what..California is riddled with illegals and that is because Homeland Secuirty in all it's half assed efforts is failing horribly. The drugs will still find their way in and so will the illegals. It makes me sick and the US looks like a joke.

Think about where all the drugs come from. They come from columbia, venezuela, mexico, afghanistan, etc....I personally applaud the mexican government for trying to make a difference. We really do not need to be supporting the taliban, or hugo chavez, which is where a lot of drug money winds up.
