Besides the work issue (actually happens quite often...and one must use ones personal e-mail, not a business or work related e-mail), I wonder if she would have gotten in trouble if she was forwarding pro-Obama information? Just a thought.
freedom of speach in danger. it is not because she used the job e-mail address. 50 years ago, that is how started in cuba, little by little. i am scare, very scare
jack i can tell you not even know how the danger of loosing freedom of speach start . i do, believe me , i can show in my back, and i was 13 years old. and in this case with the teacher, they give an excuse that is because she was using her job e-mail . maybe she did it before when bush was a president, but he was bush , and was no problem using the job e-mail ,you can do that with him but not with obama. carefull !
It is true that her communication from work is not protected by the first amendment - however, I just wonder if she would have been in trouble with the teacher's union had she forwarded pro Obama e--Mails to others.
She went overboard, and I would feel the same way whether she was sending offensive material about Bush, Obama, blacks, latins, or anything else that might upset someone, especially after being told already by her employer that she could not do this. Political opinions, racial and religious views have NO PLACE in the workplace, nor do your sexual preferences. We have had co-workers reported for forwarding racy images, scripture, pro-McCain/Palin, and pro-Obama/Biden emails because they are not work-related and usually, unwanted by those on the receiving end. Some people just hit "delete", but others are sick of opening these emails and having to waste time skimming through to find out its content and decide to report it. I don't care who you support, who you believe in, or who you have sexual encounters with, if you want to protect your job, be professional, and not make enemies, you will keep these things to yourself, especially after being warned to stop the proliferation of such material to others who have no interest in it. A company has a right to tell you what you can and cannot do (it's usually in the employee handbook, too). Don't like it? Find another job or start your own business.
Get rid of her. She\'s wasting tax payers\' dollars with her political issues. Do it at home, not work!!

Of course you are right as the Teacher unions are pro Obama! .. and we know they wouldn't object to anything in favor of him!

This has nothing to do with free speech.

Please read the Bill of Rights this has nothing to do with free speech. Private business can and do have 100% say so over these matters.
Were they able to overturn the Constitution and outlaw free speech already. I thought it would take much longer.

Think about that.
