Anyone with a pea brain knows that the ship Bush stood on was part of the inital fleet of NAVY SHIPS that brought Iraq into American control within hours. That was their mission and they acomplished that and they were given CREDIT for it.

The tragedy on this event is when and if the the Taliban and Al-quida were brainwashing the civilians thru their religious version acts and and maybe using them against the international troops and US troops as unibombers.

They're badmouthing us when their troops were in on the firefight also. That's the big problem. It doesn't matter how long we're there if they aren't going to stick up for themselves eventually. We need to bring our troops home and let them deal with their own problems. Of course then they'll say we deserted them.

Wow. Our boys are killed while "protecting" Afghans and the Afghans are chanting "Death to America". Isn't this enough already for Gods sake? Bring our boys home and leave these ungrateful fourteenth century miscreants to rot with one another.
Afghan military conscription is the answer to the insurgent problems. If you force all able Afghan male to serve in the army, you are denying new recruits for the Taliban. You also decrease the effectiveness of Taliban to hide among civilians. Consequently, this will resolve the unemployment problem as well. When you bring all males into the army, as time goes by, hopefully it will foster a sense of belonging to one tribal flag: Afghanistan.
So the next time troops march into southeastern Ghazni province, if they see a male, he is 99.99% definitely a Taliban. With a male population of 9 million between 15-65 years, if you draft a quarter of that which is about 2 million, even 50,000 Taliban will be no match. The huge numbers alone will be enough to police the country allowing the US troops to leave.
The only thing left is a strong leader who knows how to wield such military manpower. In this case, someone like Saddam must take the leadership role.

Freedom of choice is a luxury gift and a privilege that the brave and unselfish Afghan men who are willing to serve in the army and fight will bequeath their sons, daughters and grandchildren so that they may live in peace in the future.
Just like what the forefathers did and that is why many today have the so-called freedom of choice.
Look how well pulling back is doing! With the added troops they can hunt them down in their camps or bases instead of allowing them to mingle with civilians leading to civilian deaths and us losing support. If orator in chief" would make up his mind instead of making speeches there may be progress before winter.

Sept. 11, 2001 remember? Iraq was wrong and now this war is being botched. Was on the back burner so long it makes it seem longer ,but while we were in Irag we were only a presence in Afghanistan not doing what needed to be done.Time to do it!

What a pathetic goal: to apologize quicker and pay familities of killed civilians off. Americans have little to no regard for others and especially the Afghans and Iraqis. So many civilians have been killed due to this and gross carelessness. In addition, every time this has occurred it has been lied about and later there has been somewhat of an admisssion of the truth. No one respects this country and therefore the Taliban are getting stronger. For some time now the U.S. has claimed 'NATO' was responsible for the U.S bombings that killed civilians to deflect the blame. Mistakes will occur in situations but not to the degree the U.S. creates them. Since there is no accountability for this there is no deterrant to continuing in the same manner. If the media was not muzzled in the U.S. I believe we would find the reported numbers of civilian casualties to be staggering.

If this war is to continue then bomb the hell out of all of afghan, bring in air support, give our soldiers what they need to survive; instead of handing them sticks and stones to fight afghan. People die during war but our soldiers are dying due to civilians working with the Taliban, the civilians and the Afghan army are killing our soldiers. Air support is denied when our soldiers are penned down. Our government has the audacity to apologize to afghan, while our soldiers are being sacrificed to the afghan nation like pearls before those afghan swines.
Obama and mccrystal also have another thing in common they give out "compensation" to the wrong ppl. What about the families of our fallen soliders? Where is the compensation to their families? America families get a flag and a body but no compensation, and no apology.
Where the hell does this make sense to anyone? Hell, those afghan dogs are getting paid to die now and they have been doing it for free because they hate Americans. Afghans are nothing but a bunch of walking suicides, and the afghan families are profiting from the deaths of our soldiers because they are getting killed during the process while they slaughter our soldiers.

It is time to stop with the apologies and compensation to the enemy and allow our soldiers to do their jobs which is to kill the enemy. I have as much mercy for them as they did for us on 911 which is absolutely NONE!! Collateral damage is part of war, always has been, always will be. When our soldiers are allowed to do their jobs with air support, etc., then the civilians will either learn to get out of the way or they can die with the Taliban, at least they have a choice on 911 our families did not.

All soldiers having to fight under this political pressure in these conflicts in the middle east, MUST being having and awful personal struggle NOW. IT now looks like a no WIN situation also. Especially being denied the protection of assistance when needed to help in a really dangerous situation. I can well imagine the trauma America faced over 9/11, not really knowing and understanding that diabolical situation, and then their determined response.
But now after the real factors are known, the middle eastern philosophy of a tenuous life style, and their religious sense of any kind of values, WHY does the USA still hang themselves and their soldiers out to DRY....for these crazy, and absolutely unrepented people....WE are supposed to be a nation of moral, ethical and rational thinking people, who have been educated, and have deep religious convictions, plus extensive political underpinnings. It's beginning to look like in some instances, we are no better, smarter and balanced then all these people we are trying to help. I hate to say this, but Obama's addition at this time to this mix, is doing very little if anything, that seems like things can get better, but only worse.....He not only is fast becoming a lousy president, but as a commander in chief, any boy scout leader it would seen could do better....God help America?
