Can we push it inland, perhaps aiming at the areas controlled by various Drug Cartels?
If we are lucky, it will veer onto the paths used by the Coyotes, thus taking out some ILLEGAL INVADERS, and other of Mexico's finest examples of Immigrant Wannbes.
Perhaps wipe out a few major Baja ports where loads of weapons from arms dealers around the world are unloaded - before their government can claim they are US made.
Maybe take out a few flocks of Asians who want to sneak into the US via Mexico.
Might even get a Terrorist or two - who knows?
Ah yes....Hurricanes can be useful forces of Mother Nature.
Yes, it would sure be nice if the hurricane could target specific people - let's start with the drug cartels. Specific areas - how about Juarez? And while we're dreaming, let's get the army and police members who are helping the drug cartels, too.
Then, before we decide to send more millions to Mexico, take a good look at New Orleans and other areas hit by Katrina. Take care of them first and to heck with throwing our tax dollars into the black hole of Mexico. We have enough on our hands paying for the social services, jail space, education and medical care for the illegals that its government is sending us.
This has nothing to do with the people who are directly affected. Black hole? I live in Puerto Vallarta and you make me sick with your comments. Stay in the US and get ripped off of from all of the scams (which, by the way, are not in Mexico) you dumb f**K
Mexico is FAR from a "black hole" as you so eloquently put it. Having lived in several different areas in mexico, as well as several states and living most of my life here in the US, I have to say I prefer Mexico. The people have MUCH more culture, it is so beautiful, the majority of people are way warmer and more hospitable, and honestly, the two times I visited a Dr. in Mexico, I felt I received care far more superior than I had here.
Off thread a bit but hopefully Mother Nature will flush the problem into the Pacific ocean:
Ex-pats are all over the world. If you prefer Mexico, go for it. Most of us prefer to live in a place where corruption is a variable, NOT a constant part of survival. It is an interesting observation that most of the people advocating living in a third world environment are politically more conservative than most. Living in the places where personal freedom and rights are the LEAST available (unless you have bunches of money to spread around).
In a few years, as SS benefits are harder to get - watch for a restriction placed on SS money being taken out of the US. Of course, they first have to stop the flow of non-taxed cash $$ being funneled back to Mexico (and other countries) via Western Union. At least the 'cash' payments never made it into the SS program at all.
You might want to try Columbus NM, right across the border from Paloma (Chi) Mexico. Columbus is already taken over by (one of the) Mexican Drug Cartel, the US looks the other way, and Paloma just found their Mayor murdered on the street - again, thought to be a Cartel "hit".
Ah well...pack your bags, head down Mexico way, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. Via Con Dios
Haha wow it's clear that all you know about Mexico is what you hear on the news. Yes there is a lot of corruption, but have you seen our country lately? Corruption is not a constant need for survival for most either, half my family lives in various parts of Mexico-Mexico City, Cancun, Acapulco- and they are doing very well for themselves being the hard working honest people they are. You obviously have absolutely no idea what you are talking
about. Maybe if you were to actually make your judgements according to anything other than the stories you see on the news, then you'd realize you are dead wrong. Yes there are some very dangerous and corrupt areas on Mexico, but there are definitely cities here in the US that I wouldn't walk around at night in either.
Oh and thank you, I will, but its VAYA con Dios. If you are going to attempt to speak another language at least try and spell the words correctly :)
Amik - We are playing " My Country is better than your Country" and I applaud you for defending Mexico. Just keep the criminal element away from us. Your 'finest' choose to stay in Mexico and I assume they make positive contributions to the world they live in. I wish they paid more attention to the criminal issues runnng rampant in your country.
BTW: I HAVE seen your country lately, Loved to see the militia-armed men at your favorite tourist spots ! Worst of all, I have seen the dregs of your country invading MY country. When push comes to shove, the ILLEGAL INVADERs, whether wanting a yard job, to bus a table at Macayo's or establishing a crime family here, are NOT welcome in the US. Doesn't matter if they are Mexican, Guatamalan or some Asian illegal who has scurried in through one of your porous seaports.
For some reason, you in Mexico have bought into the Fox/Calderone line that everything bad in Mexico is the fault of the US. I guess they must teach a different version of History in Mexican schools. But, I admit that our inept politicans of both parties have helped fuel the impression that we are going to beat our breasts and cry "Mea Culpa". Problem with that is the mainstream US does not buy into it and are becomng VERY tired of getting your dregs on our doorstep.
As for our news....Border area murders, kidnappings in Phoenix, Drop Houses, Coyotes packing 20 Illegals into a van! Those are NOT bogey-man stories by an over zealous media. The tourist trade to Mexico is drying up, no longer a fun place to visit or shop.
If a Hurricane wipes out Cabo or the entire Baja tourist industry, it is not a major loss (other than to the finance cartels behind them). If there are groups wanting to help - please contact them or help pay for your countrymen to return to help re-build the Mexican damage.
I agree that there are (many) places in the US where we would fear to tred, day or night. But, they are HOME GROWN issues ( many ties to the Mexican crime cartels). We do not need your dregs here, adding to the mix.
What is this crap? Hurricanes are in the Atlantic, not the Pacific. Typhoons are in the Pacific. Rick in the Pacific, thus it's a typhoon, not a hurricane.
"SEATTLE - Aside from the name, not much. Both are severe tropical systems that have wind speeds greater than 74 mph.
They are called "hurricanes" in the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean and eastern Pacific Ocean. But once your go west across the International Dateline and into the western Pacific Ocean, they're called typhoons. And of course, the Australians, who have colorful names for just about everything, have their own term for hurricanes: "willy-willys."
Typhoons generally tend to be stronger than hurricanes, but only because there's warmer water in the western Pacific and are better conditions for storm development. And they've been known to affect Seattle: Some of our strongest windstorms ever recorded were remnants of a typhoon in the western Pacific."
This site explains the difference between a Hurricane, Typhoon, & Cyclone. Basically they are the same. It depends where they originate and which part of the world they threaten.
Oh well, Rick is planning to arrive in Cabo San Lucas on the very same day I plan to arrive. I just hope Rick's stay is a short one!!!! I would LIKE to enjoy a little Mexican hospitality, food, drinks and SUN! My husband and I just looked at each other and shrugged.
We do pray that the storm passes the people of beautiful Cabo by and heads out into the open cold waters of the Pacific where it will dies a slow death due to the extraordinarily cold waters. ON WITH THE BISBEE, I SAY!

can we get this to hit N'Awlins again ? so they can whine and complain some more and maybe loot some more good stuff ?
Hurricane Rick? Sounds like the good-natured beach bum guy in flip flops living next door, not a scary hurricane.

heres 2 cents move back ,,,,im sure you are missed.
Yeah we do really want to, it's just pretty hard to find a decent paying job there. We are definitely planning on it though, at least for awhile :)

Do drugs, do you?

If msm says it's a hurricane, then it must be true! Another example of "dumbing down" sheeple.
Ever heard of the equator? North side-hurricane. South side-typhoon.
Last time I checked Japan and the Phillippines were north of the equator, yet they just had several typhoons.

I believe that Rob is right.
It used to be that Hurricanes were in the Atlantic and Typhoons were in the Pacific.
I notice that they started calling typhoons hurricanes about 10 years ago.
I'll give them partial credit for this one...at least it started in the Atlantic...

I'd wager that it hits the coast at a catgory 1 or if unlucky a low 2.No big deal.It won't hit until late next wk after crossing cooler waters..
Anybody notice what a useless article this was? WHERE in the pacific? Southwest of Acupulco... How far ?? What day is "next week"?
