put the girl in to a loving family and send the scum parents back to their own country, we shouldnt have to waste money on them. deport all immigrants who commit any crime!
What do her parents have to do to her before she is taken from them? Our social services system sucks.....lets make sure the kids have been completely neglected and emotionally scarred before we take them away..oh and then after we piss the parents off, lets give the child back a few days later..then the parents can really take out their anger on the poor kid.
What a shame, that poor child deserves better.
I lived in AZ for 12 years and loved it. Most people were wonderful , great weather and so much to do and see. For digipixx, if you want a craphole of a place, move to Detroit...now that is the craphole of the universe...
Well, these folks ain't in their country no more so now it is time for them to learn about their new country where you do not treat your daughters as if they have no value. There are a lot of people out there who could adopt this child, so if you don't want her, just give her up instead of letting her go hungry and wander the streets. This is a case for forced sterilization. Don't let these people have any more kids. If they are female children, they will be treated the same way.
We bring all these people from all over the world! We do not understand thier culture, and we expect them to live by our standards!!! This is crazy, I dont get it! But, Dont blame them for shooting a monkey in the neck with a blow gun, we need to watch these people closer, and teach them how to live in a civilized world!! This story is sick, but we need to teach them!!!! I HOPE THE CHILD IS OK AND WILL HAVE A HAPPY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nope we need to kick their welfare claiming, society draining, child abusing butts back to their country along with the rapists and their families, immigrant criminals are not welcome
What was the social workers waiting for, till they would get a call say the girl was hurt or worse killed? And I know there from another culture but they need to learn and try to change .I hear people complaining about America and the way we do stuff.Calling us names. But who dothey come for when they need help.US.And whene they come here and become US citizens. They need to adapt to our ways.I know they come from other cultures. But they need to know its just a bit differnt here. You just dont throw a child away because of some thing wrong happens to her or him.I sure hope the social worker never puts her back in that home.I'm praying for her.
The next time they give this girl back she may end up dead. Let these parents go without food and let them get raped. I would definitely turn my back on them.
My heart goes out to this girl, she didn't ask for this kind of treatment. Parents are suppose to protect their children. They are suppose to take care of their children.
I hope they both go and visit Sheriff Joe...let him deal with them. I don't think that they would like those bologna sandwiches. hahahaha
That's all well and good to try to keep families together, but the first priority should be the protection of the children. If, and only if, they are safe and it is proven safe for them to be returned to parents, should it happen. The goal is not to preserve the family, but to preserve the safety of the children. It's outrageous that this was allowed to continue...I hope this child will be all right...I'd love to bring her home with me, too!
Didn't merit DSS intervention?!? The child was STARVING! She had bruises! What were they waiting for, her death? Let's not mention the fact that these two low-lifes didn't know where their EIGHT-YEAR-OLD daughter was when she was being raped by four equally low-life boys! Honestly, what is the deal with the social service system? It seems that the ONLY people who have rights in these situations are the freakin' scumbag parents! Where are the rights of the children? It's enough to make you sick! If social services had stepped in when they were SUPPOSED to, this child would have been spared yet another cruel and vicious act of abuse!
People who go into social services have to realize that they have chosen a profession that is far more than a paycheck. They are dealing with the lives of innocent children. If you are so flippant about doing your job, go be a greeter at Wal-Mart where you won't have to tax your precious grey cells!
Had the child been murdered then where would the family be? Child welfare officials need to immediately remove the children from the situation, complete follow up and if the parents do not want or are unable to care for the child - don't force the issue. They obviously do not want the child. Place her with people who would be thankful to be given such a gift.
"Removing a child from the family has to be one of the last resorts," Meissner said. "We really are obligated to take other steps before removing the child."
That line shocked me after reading what this child has had to endure. I hope she finds a family who will love and cherish her as every child deserves.
Our Social Services has to be reformed. That person was right saying the children's safety must come first. Some people just do not need to have children. So many people want children they go overseas or pay large amounts of money to have a child.
There are thousands of children in this country who do not belong with their bio parents. They are not even safe there. With those parents, it's something like possession or ownership. They really don't love those children and have no business keeping them. Properly run orphanages are really needed in this country. Some people are just too evil and stupid to raise children. These are the children that turn out really bad, criminals. And who wouldn't when all your life you have been unloved, uncared for, unwanted.
social services need to find that happy medium that seems to elude them, half the time they are useless and kids die under their watch because they wont do anything and the other half parentsare losing their kids because the kid told someone he got a smacked bottom for being naughty, happy medium here please.

First, I hope that a good home is found for this child. Unfortunately, the foster care system lacks the number of caring homes needed for this situation. A home of understanding people willing to take the time to get her counseling is going to be needed. There are going to be everlasting emotional and psychological scars to heal and that will take years.
Culture has nothing to do with this issue. Evil is evil. The girl who was just found after living in someone's backyard since 1991 was not held by people from another country. There are dysfunctional families all around us. They are in the suburbs as well as the inner city. They are in the United States and across the world. Concentrating on the culture of these people is not going to solve the problem. Instead we should be trying to figure out how to give DCFS and CPS the autonomy to remove children from these homes. It is not always in the best interest of a child to remain at home with their parents. We have to put the children first. There are thousands of couples who want to adopt children and are willing to cross racial and social lines just to provide a home for a child. Once an incident occurs in a home, the parents should have to undergo some kind of psychological testing to weed out the accidents from the abusers so that the cycle is not continued.
I worked in social services for over 20. I quit because of the current trend in leaving children in abusive homes. It is not social services that should be blamed but the legislatures of each state and the courts who protect the parents rather than the children. Call your state representatives or write letters demanding that the laws be changed so that the rights of the children are the first priority.
I agree with your point, ClioKitty, about evil existing everywhere in the world. However, after nearly two decades of civil war, Liberian women have been marginalized and victimized at every level of society as a matter of cultural preference and official policy. The female literacy rate in that country is 38%. Things may improve, as Liberia does have the only female head of state on the African continent, but I think we are denying reality if we do not accept that many cultures around the world specifically deny basic human rights as we understand them here in the U.S. to half their population. Until countries like the U.S., Canada and Great Britain treat such "cultural" atrocities committed on their soil, such as honor killings, for what they really are and prosecute the perpetrators to the fullest extent of the law, these crimes will continue amongst immigrant populations. Yes, we have crazies here in the U.S., and we have child abusers, spousal abuse (male and female), etc., but this behavior is not a cornerstone of our culture and these acts are considered crimes. That doesn't even begin to cover the inadequacy of our policies surrounding social services....all that ever comes of a tragedy where social services is involved is the overworked case worker gets fired, but the individuals who direct policy continue to operate with no consequence whatsoever.
Taking that little girl from her home was the best thing they could've done. She was in more danger there even in the own hands of her mother...what a shame.
How dare, her family not let her back into their home. Where's the unconditional love under that roof?
There is room in our home for her. I detest people who think their children are a commodity to abuse and toss away when something goes wrong.
I wish you could take her!
These parents have sounded very fishy all along. I am so upset for this little girl...she deserves so much better!
put the girl in to a loving family and send the scum parents back to their own country, we shouldnt have to waste money on them. deport all immigrants who commit any crime!
I spent 11 miserable years in Arizona. Thank heaven I got out alive. What a craphole of a place.
What do her parents have to do to her before she is taken from them? Why wasn't she taken away the first or second time she was found wandering around and looking for/begging for/stealing food?
What was the social workers waiting for, till they would get a call say the girl was hurt or worse killed? the state proves once again they really don't care about children.
