More than three times as many black people live in prison cells as in college dorms, the government said in a report to be released Thursday. The ratio is only slightly better for Hispanics, at 2.7 inmates for every Latino in college housing. Among non-Hispanic whites, more than twice as many live in college housing as in prison or jail.

It is sad. This society where there is so much oportunity and so little personal accountability. I have lived aboard for many years in third world countries and every time I come home I am sad to see so many people waste so many free oportunities. High school is free. No matter your teachers you can still get good grades. I came from a small insignficant school but got into a lesser name college, got good grades, got into a better master school and worked all the time doing whatever I could to get experience. These values of work and persistence where given to me by my parents. Yes I too have been denied jobs because of my color and sex but that didn\'t stop me. The people and culture themselves need to change. If they were still back in africa they would be stuck in war torn countries with brutal killing and rape every day. There is no excuse for their failure execpt themselves. May they be better parents then theirs were to them and work harder then those before them and they will find that the ratio will even out very quickly.
