Time for Obama to apologize . I doubt whether he is a big enough man to do so.
It's time to be big enough to stand up to stupidity and corruption. No one should be arrested at their own home for nothing and the Rev. Wright was right when he said the chickens have come home to roost. Stop craw fishing "O" and stick with people when they are right.
I think I will call the police to visit a few people that think the cop was right and see how happy they will be to see them. People should put their selves in other people shoes a minute and do unto others as they would have done unto themselves. I doubt anyone would want to go to jail for having a bad day at ones own house. If you can't see that then you are a hypocrite.

You automatically assume that because he's black he has to be the victim, which makes you more of a racist than any white person you condemn. Your endorsement of Rev. "I Hate White People and Want to Get Richer than I Already Am by Screaming about It" Wright proves how much of a bigot you are. I suppose you think the black officer who was at the scene is an Uncle Tom for not interfering with Gates's arrest. As long as blacks have the mindset that all white people are evil, and that every black person who is held accountable for his illegal and immoral behavior is being railroaded, we will not have racial harmony in this country, and it will not be the fault of whites.

It is time for blacks racist attitudes against whites to end. Obama got elected over it and there are more people making money by promoting hatred against whites. It is not OK for blacks to blame anyone but themselves for their own life. Obviously blacks are now treated equally if not more equally under American societal norms and under the government so it is time for them to accept responsibility for their actions or lack there of as in not graduating high school or going to work with a good attitude.
It is not racism that keeps blacks from getting jobs. It is an attitude of entitlement and 'street cred' that stops their progress just like that same bad work attitude stops whites and hispanics. Too bad that the whole world uses English for business and not ebonics. Learn to speak business English like everyone else in the world (including black Africans) and you might see yourself communicating your way to success like Barry Obama did.

I think what Obama is trying to do is connect with "Joe Six Pack" a label that has been put on the working man in this country. Unfortunately for him "Joe Six pack" doesn't really pickup a six pack on the way home from work and drink it that night. It's just a label some folks. That would mean we are mostly alcoholics which is not true. So I can only see this tactic hurting the President. This is a ploy to make it appear that he is "like us". He's not.
As far as Obama rushing to stop this problem, I can't see him fixing the problem. The hours is out of the barn and people have seen another little piece of the real Obama. Never to be hidden again. Tomorrow we will see another piece.
Since the Media has chosen not to expose Obama for what he is we are forced to view him through a soda straw. Only seeing small portions at a time but sooner or later the public will have a complete picture. Of course that is holding true for Network TV as well.
If I was Sergant Crowley, whom has been professional throughout this whole episode, I'd decline that invitation. Obama won't apologize for his comments and is no better then Gates for extending the racial divide. What did you expect??? Gates, who is a renouned professor and expert on African-American history is the new &#@* stirrer, right up there with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who exentuate black entitlement. For our senate (a week ago) to apologize for slavery, which no living human being, black or white had any hand in is STUPID. Just shows that Obama is glib but inexperienced. The event should not have been given so much time at the press conference. Obama is doing a good job of cleaning up the "mispeaking' moment. Regrettably there are some blacks who are way too quick to play the race card. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are the best examples. They do so for their own political self interest and may or may not actually be racist themselves. However, "if it quacks like a duck"! Anyway, some blacks certainly are racist and in that regard they are no better than than the guys in the pointed hoods. Based on the available facts to date, it appears more likely that any racism was was on the part of the professor. I voted for President Obama, but I am very upset at his remarks in this matter. I certainly hope this is not foretelling of my coming to regret that choice.

If you ask me, policemen (and women), should be considered as brave as our troops overseas. When they go on a call they dont know who might be on the other side of the door. All the police Officer did was what he was suppose to do, and what is paid to do. Mr Gates and President Obama made it a racial incident. The Police Officer cannot expect an apology from two racist who are black.

If Black and hispanic people do not want the service of law-enforcement they should have the option of turning down police investigating crime against them, providing medical assistance to them, and protecting their children.

I am sorry. All of this publicity is rediculous! The Harvard Professor should have simply taken out his ID and told the officer "I live here". The whole thing would have lasted 5 minutes. Instead we have this media circus and the so called "Beer Summit".
