You asked "Are these not the same people that stormed our embassy and killed the Marine guard?"
Well, I doubt it. I would figure that they were just ordinary people going about there lives. I doubt that for some reason, the 160+ people on the plane were involved in the Islamic Revolution that Iran had 30 years ago. I guess it is possible that there could have been a few. There may have been some murderers and child molesters on there too. However, I would bet that the overwhelming majority were just ordinary people flying somewhere for whatever reasons, just like here in the U.S.
And yes, that was tragic about the Marine Guard. God bless him!
Jordan - I'm not sure who you are referring to when you say "we." If you are talking about we as a planet, there have been a few aircraft incidents. If you are referring to "we" as a country, there have been no jet aircraft fatalities. The only commercial aircraft accident occurred in Buffalo NY in Feb but it involved a prop carrier.
Unbelievable. There are over a hundred people dead, who have done absolutely nothing to those of you who have made such vile comments throughout this thread. Many of them were just kids. What difference does it make if they were Iranian, Armenian, or whatever nationality, they were human beings. This country is imploding from hate. You people make me ashamed to be an American.
Isabella, you have a couple of people out of 300 million displaying ignorance... and you're considering them to be representative of enough of America to make you ashamed of sharing their nationality? That's a little rash, is it not?
Leave it to Ahmaduchebag to try and pin this on the U.S. A Russian made plane crashes. I dont think we make the spare parts for those planes. To bad Ahmaduchebag and the entire Islamic Council werent on board
Unfortunately Jay, it's not just a small percentage of people, and it's not just this thread. The hatred, intolerance, and lack of compassion in this country is getting worse and worse.
Once again, the US gets blamed for the rest of the world's failures. God I'm sooooo sick of it! Maybe we should quit helping other countries so that we can be more deserving.
Rather odd that so many planes have gone down recently. One just a couple of days ago didn't result in any injuries which was a miracle in itself.
If it was Russian made and the Iranians don't perform proper maintenance they have only themselves to blams but I'm sure the US will get blamed.
Meanwhile, the Senate is trying to take over healthcare and make sure all their buddies in the insurance industries can rake in huge bonuses like AIG's coming up again!
They already have blamed the U.S. because of the sanctions we placed on their country. They say, because of the sanctions, they are not able to get the necessary parts to do the repairs on their aging fleet. This is ridiculous!!!
Isabella- When 3000 people died in 9/11 they all were happy on TV in the Arab world. What do you say about that? Do you see Americans buring effigies of their leaders in our streets chanting death to Iran? NO. You will not see this in America.
And again the world blames America..... for everything! What? are we supposed to open our wallets to these people and the minute we turn they stab us in the back and have nothing nice to say!
Getting sick of the world complaining that we police too much, then when something goes wrong they come crying to us that they need our help or it is our fault.
Sorry for being off topic, but the attitude of people like Isabella just chaps my hide.
When I read the headline, I immediately thought "they're going to blame the U.S. for this somehow".
Of course they did. Blaming U.S. sanctions on their inability to get parts. Correct me if I'm wrong, but, aren't they U.N. sanctions?
However; if this happened in the U.S. they would be saying Allah was punishing us for our sins. The plane is a Russian made plane, so why not blame them?
Yes indeed Mike788084, I am in total agreement with you in regards to troy1 and his heartless comment. These aren't your "enemies" troy1 you douche-bag, these are innocent men, women & children and so what if maybe there were 1 or 2 of the reviled Basij militia on board, is this good reason enough to find humor in the deaths of the other 166 people?!?
Does anyone remember the low-lifes out there who celebrated when the Twin Towers came down? This is the same sort of thing, the same worthless expression of callous disregard for our fellow human-beings.
Isabella, if you think a couple of people on a couple of boards isn't a small percentage af Americans you need to go back to school. You know an extremely small percentage of the US population so your views of the compassion of Americans as a whole is worthless. Please be quiet until you can speak authoritatively.
That's right blame the "Evil Empire" for the crash! Some how we kept Iran from getting Russian parts for a Russian airplane? I feel sorry for the few innocent people on board that lost their lives. President Imanutjob can kiss my Polish white a##!
If you follow this board at all you would notice the same people are against everyone and everything that did not come out of a Fundamentalist's mouth or that does not directly benefit them. These people are just as dangerous and heart dead as any terrorist.
They are not in any way the majority of Americans and do not represent either Political party. We have one of them that lives in our neighborhood and we all think he is a nut case.
This like any other plane crash is a shame and I'm sure many good humans were killed.
Okay, let's recap. A few people here have actually made a good point, that the US is implictly blamed by the Iranian state-issued statement. Let's try to figure out more about that.
I know our memories are goldfish short, but many of us may remember a recent, contested presidential election in which Americans glimpsed the most astonishing images of Iranian citizens we've ever seen. The state rhetoric of the Islamic Repubic of Iran is indeed "death to the American imperialist Satan." But the people of Iran clearly feel differently.
How many commentators and reporters dispatched to Iran last month reported the overwhelming, pervasive opinion of average Iranians as positive toward the US? I believe some reporting of that kind even managed to find its way onto Fox News. If one missed that, how does he account for the many signs in English, the English tweets on Twitter, and the use of American proxy servers to keep the transmission open? Those tech savvy students weren't sending messages to the UK, Canada, South Africa, Australia, or any other English speaking nation; they were sending them to us.
This is the rare case where the comments of hawks and doves intersect. The people who call for the condemnation of the Great Leader and President Ahmadinejad are right. But so are those who call for respect and sympathy for the Iranian people. We have enough enemies in the world without inventing more just to stoke the fires of our own paranoia.
Those who defend the Iranian regime (of whom I see none on this thread) are wrong. But so are those who believe the Iranian people should be punished either for the abuses of their rulers or the unfortunate trick of being born somewhere other than the United States.
There's really no appropriate response other than to call Ahmadinejad on his s*** and offer condolences to the affected families of this crisis.
Well, when I first read this article I felt bad for the passengers and then I thought much of the divisive things other people have stated except I was thinking in a joking fashion. Like: I wonder if this was the conciliatory flight for all the supporters of the other sides political party (who lost in this past election), or I wonder if this was a plane full of Sunnis (The minority in this @!$%#e dominated country? (a couple of days ago they hung 14 sunnies). Maybe Abdiminijad will just deny this happened just like he did with the Holocaust. (Small fraction of the loss of life as was seen during the Holocaust) I think there were a few others but it never involved happiness over the loss of life. Hell there are millions of Americans who are free to be ignorant, and dumb. Some of those surely wrote on here. Heck, I might be one of those in this case because some of those jokes were pretty bad and I almost didn't post this. I did see some more rotten post and thought we should be grateful of all the people who didn't die today out of this man-made disaster. It's sad for the families of the passengers and flight personnel and we should keep them in our prayers along with anybodys family who died on the ground in the planes path.
Steech and Jack - thanks for reminding all that there were real people who died - never mind about their politics.
Can we please give the hysteric politics a rest? Millions of Iranians are not fans of the current government, so let's not toss them all in one barrel. We all know the regime there wants to find someone else to be responsible for their mess. Our government has been known to do that also - even when Americans know better.
Iran needs our help, we should give it to them. Their are millions of Iranian americans who love their ancestors birth country as much as israeli americans. The Iranian government will eventually acquire nukes, but they will never attack Israel. We will be way better off economically with an Iranian alliance (they have the oil, its just not traded with the US dollar). Also, a friend like Iran can do great wonders to us in the muslim world (no more international terrorism, more access to cheap oil). We are dependent on foreign oil, and since we are the stronger nation between the two we should be mature enough about stepping forward and accepting their bad with their good. Once we have acceptance change will be a lot easier from the inside. We american citizens should remember that once upon a time people hated the Irish, the Italians, the French, the brits, etc, etc...let stop the hate because it only leads to death
It is so strange!!!!than how they want to distroy Israel and USA? If they can built in their Islamic Republic all kind of sofisticated BOMB, SATELITE, MISSILE and etc.... still they are blaming USA not to sell them the plane's part!!!They are saying on and on:they don't need western evile countries. Well let them to build something..we will be so happy, but please leave us alone. We don't want to sell them even one piece of wood...
Isabella- When 3000 people died in 9/11 they all were happy on TV in the Arab world. What do you say about that?
Dave what exactly are you smoking, or are you normally out of your mind on a daily basis! First you label everyone in the mid-east as arabs. That alone displays your ignorance and lack of knowledge of the cultures and territories. And no people in Iran were not happy on TV. In fact they were were holding candlelight vigils. Or did your selective memory not recall that FACT. Idiots like you are the reason we're in the mideast stirring up $hit and bombing every civilian in their backyard. And you wonder how scumbags like Bin Laden can gather a following....Hell I'm wondering how scumbags like Falwell, Chaney and Limbaugh can get a following. They are hardly any different.
What am I supposed to feel after reading this news flash??????sadness, remorse, compassion,,,how about none of these,,how about,,don't waste the space or the time it took to write this article,,,I don't care and neither should anyone who lives in the United States,,,those people have done their level best to discredit this country,,,besides,,,now they can all live in harmony with Allah,,,that should make them happy.
You're a jackass. Why should you feel this way about the loss of 150+ lives......no matter where they are from. Do you think that the everyday citizens of Iran are all evil Islamist militants that are out to take down the U.S.? You and the people like you are what is wrong with the world.......and this is coming to you from a 22 year veteran of the United States Army with two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. The MAJORITY of the people from that side of the world want the same thing that you do. To be left alone and able to live there lives.
Yeah, you certainly can't blame Iran's equivalent of "Joe the plumber" for the governments hardline views on the US or other Western nations.
Although I have been blamed personally for Bush's actions. I don't think a lot of the people in our world understand just how independent most Americans can be. We stand for ourselves first, then for "something". Then again, that's probably why we're considered "The Great Satan".
Now if this were a plane of militant Jihadists.... that's a different story.
Veteran Patriot........... Great comments! I came on this board just to find out how long it would take some moron to post ignorant and non-sensitive remarks. It didn't take long at all. Morons like Arthur, unfortunately, are alive and well.
We may hate what the leader of their country does, but how can you gloat about young children being killed on this flight. Sick people out there!!! I just hope that Obama doesn't send them money to help with the clean up and investigation.
dumbest comment ! and im sure you are one of those who want to teach the good american way to the world. !! that is not a good example.people lost their lives in a tragic accident, ....
,,I don't care and neither should anyone who lives in the United States
Arthur-348233, I am saddened by the above quote from your comment #2.
It is terrible that you and so many other commenters lack sympathy for the victims of this plane crash and their families. Some even seem happy about it.
Veteran Patriot, although I am basically a pacifist, I thank you for your service and for your insightful comments on this horrible accident.
I look forward to the time when the world experiences a just and lasting peace. And, it will come when peoples around the world seek to learn from and help one another, instead of doing the opposite.
jameseg,
As long as there are people walking on this planet there will never be peace... It's great that you are a pacifist, but are you truly a pacifist???If faced with the death of a loved one,you would respond in kind.. Nirvana would be a great place to live, but it just doesn't exist..
On topic though, any death is tragic...
It's great that you are a pacifist, but are you truly a pacifist???
GregL-671049, regarding the above quote from your comment #2.10:
One never knows how one will react to a particular situation until one faces it.
But, I do think it is important to seek to understand the point of view of others, rather than react emotionally without thinking. Vigilante justice or rejoicing over the deaths of innocent people typically creates more problems than it solves.
I think there is a time to die, and in some cases it is preferable to enduring pain and suffering.
But, unexpected deaths in a plane crash seem especially traumatic for the family and friends of those who die -- a tragic loss. I trust we agree on this.
Above all else, respect others. Address issues and arguments and refrain from making personal attacks. If you see something disrespectful or inappropriate, report it - rather than further inflaming the situation.
What you are not being clear on is who the "them" are. Since we are not in Iran, I will take it that you mean that area of the world in general. I am not going to get into it all. You know as well as I do why we are there. I support it whole-heartedly. However, my point is that it was a plane full of CIVILIANS from Iran. Not a bunch of Jihadists from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan or anywhere else.
I just do not understand how some of you can get on here and be happy about people dieing in a plane crash. If it were a plane full of Taliban, then I would be happy too, but it wasn't.
But they where real quick to tie the U.S. into their problems. Their state run media has them believing it is the fault of the U.S for not giving them the RUSSIAN made parts for their planes to keep them flying. Who is going to tell them it is their own fault and not blame the U.S for their own failures?
Actually, Iran probably is one of the Muslim countries that was westernized the lost during the 1960's and 70's. Only after Ayatollah Khomeini led the revolution and disposed the Shah, the country has returned to 14th Century middle ages. I think the Iranian people there are very much aware of what is right and what is wrong, but if you don't do what the Mullahs say, they will hang people, who is not afraid? This is another form of human tragedy under the disguise of religion. They also rigged the ballots for voting results, what a bunch of power thirsty thugs, who are controlling the country right now.
It's amazing to me how certain segments of the US population criticize those within our country as well as the "foreigners." In my opinion, they are afraid of people or concepts that are different and can't be bothered to learn about them.
I agree that Iranians, as a whole, are educated people. The populace is in a lose-lose situation when a strong-fisted, radical, religion-based government controls life to the point of re-recreating the Middle Ages (even Dark Ages) in the 20th/21st centuries. It's especially unfortunate with respect to the women of regimes like that.
Please accept my deepest thanks and admiration for serving our country.
Ignorant posts are exactly that.... ignorant. They're made by those who think they know everything. In reality, they know very little to nothing and exhibit this publicly through their narrowminded and ignorant posts.
They also rigged the ballots for voting results, what a bunch of power thirsty thugs, who are controlling the country right now.
You've got to be joking right?!!!
Where have you been during the 2000 and 2004 elections? We had plenty of rigging here in the USA. Even in 2008 there was rigging by third parties who rerouted the electronic votes in Ohio to some hilbilly state down south. I doubt they were verifying results.
All of us without exception regret the loss of life.. But this is Iran's problem now, as these is nothing we can do.. They'll be shooting themselves in the foot, until they change all their leaders...
Change all their....????? Kind of hard to do when the scumbag rigs the elections! They're pretty much stuck with that scroungy little bastard, and whatever he chooses to do with their country!
I was referring to your service incountry in Iraq and Afghanistan...apparently you're no worse for the experience. As far as a planeload of civilians, what type of folks were on the airliners on 9/11? I think anytime a group of Muslims bite the dust, it's just another day in the park and their prayers to Allah have been answered and rewarded with a trip to the great mosque in the sky.
Actually, I am worse for the experience. I didn't just retire as I stated before, I was medically discharged after 22 years. I am now a 100% disabled Veteran because of my "experience" there. But it doesn't make me hate people just because of where they are from, or because of the actions a few.
Ranger, your relentless assault against decency is deeply offensive. That you extend your disrespect to a veteran who's apparently sacrificed much in service to our country is doubly so. Your screen name suggests you may have a service record of your own. Shouldn't that make it all the more repugnant to attack a fellow warrior?
You certainly have the right to feel (and say) whatever you choose. Unfortunately freedom of speech does mean "freedom to be a jerk." However, when you state (in no uncertain terms) that children deserve to die because of the conditions of their birth, you reveal yourself to be a deeply insensitive person. When you attack another's religion you offend not only that person, but his family, and indeed the great number of your countrymen who believe in our sacred-civic freedom to practice the religion of our choosing. I doubt you mean to insult your country with your vitriol, but I hope you'll see that you do.
In the event you did mean to insult your country, or don't care that you did... Well, that's your right. Let me express mine by voicing my disapproval.
Veteran Patriot - My post 5.6 really belonged here, so I'm repeating it.
Please accept my deepest thanks and admiration for serving our country.
Ignorant posts are exactly that.... ignorant. They're made by those who think they know everything. In reality, they know very little to nothing and exhibit this publicly through their narrowminded and ignorant posts.

You have got to be beyond terry shaivo braindead to ASSume that everyone on that plane was muslim.
"Iran has frequent plane crashes, which it blames on U.S. sanctions on the country that prevent it from getting spare parts for aging airplanes. Caspian Airlines, however, uses Russian-made aircraft whose maintenance would be less impaired by American sanctions."
Wow, sounds like we're to blame any way you look at it! Why don't they just ride a bus or a train if they can't get spare parts?
I see you edited the article to suit your needs. How about putting the "in part" back in your quote. and nowhere in this article does it state that Iran blamed the US for this crash. They usually do when one of the US or European built planes that they use crashes. Of course, it isn't our fault then either, but still, get your stuff straight and don't change the article quotes to suit your needs......in other words, stay honest.
There is an exemption to the Iran sanctions...They can get US good's as long as it isn't shipped directly from a US company...That kind of defeats the use of sanctions, don't it?
Let's see,,,,I don't think like you,,,,I don't feel like you,,,I don't act the way you feel I should act,,,so that makes me a moron,,,and that in turn makes you a conformist,,if you will,,,a communist Ted,,and veteran patriot,,,I don't believe I called you names to begin with,,,in fact,,,I don't think I made reference to anyone in this country in my comment,,,and I thought I lived in a country where I was allowed to state my opinion,,,free speech,,,remember???but you guys have once again proven that,,,that belief is also a fairy tail.
Arthur........ To be gleeful over the death of innocent people is much worse than calling someone a befitting name. All Iranians and all Islamists are not hateful towards us at all. Most of the problems are coming from the extremists and radical factions. If there were 168 deaths, how do you separate the good folks from the possibly bad ones? It is never correct to show satisfaction in any mass destruction accident as this one.
The article stated most of the passengers were Armenian. But, I know quite a few Iranians and THEY DO NOT hate us. They want to be LIKE US and have our same freedoms. People who state that they hate us, are ignorant.
Blaming is alway easier than problem solving. Besides, they really don't want to find out what is really the cause, that would mean taking responsibility.
I don't know whats more unusual, the fact a Russian airplane crashed or that there were 15 members of the crew?
I know Russian airplanes require 2 pilots, an engineer and a navigator, but what did the other 11 do? That many flight attendants seems a little over the top . . .given the lack of service on these airlines. Is it just a good union?
Maybe it's like the Russian Navy Fleet...They have political officers on all ships and boats...They wouldn't want the masses to escape..
I worked for an Iranian (my foreman) he was a real nice guy...He and his family escaped from Iran, because of religious persecution..They were Christan's..
GOD has begun punishing man for being outright indignant towards him.
He did it when he flooded the Earth, he did it when Nimrod built the Tower of Babel, he's been doing it since we've started launching rockets into to space (which man has never gone to the moon by the way), and he's doing it with the recent rash of "natural disaster's" and plane crashes.
Uh.....uh.....glad you could tear yourself away from your Old Testiment to share with us today. Please go back to your "good book" and don't mind the people in the white coats with the big butterfly nets, they're only there to help.
LMAO....That's what I'm talking about! You people are too funny! I don't even believe in the Invisible man in the sky. Can you say, Sarcasm? I pretty much just posted this for @!$%#s and giggles! Momus has been too serious lately and it's time to go back to sarcasm and ridicule.
I have a religious fanatic next door that has predicted the end of the world three times...and has been wrong three times obviously. Her latest schtick is the planet Nemisis which is supposed to crash into the earth. I'm not too worried right now, she's like a religious National League in the All-Star game of life.
Funny Momus, but see, the problem is most of us have heard similar comments in equally poor English coming from people who had not one crack in their sincerity. No sarcasm at all from them. They exist and are out here. Everywhere. Seriously.
Momus, why do you remind me of the slow kid in 6th grade who got attention by sticking crayons up his nose so everyone would laugh at him....better than no attention at all, eh?
Aww, Adela....did I steal your thunder in the 6th grade and now you're still holding it against me? How I pity you to even remember that insignificant part of my life, but then again, when your life is insignificant, you remember the dumbest things. You know what they say, small minds are amused easily and you definitely may want to stay away from the steamer...Someone may mistake your brain for a small vegetable!
Does anyone take resposibility for their actions anymore? If a country can't get parts for maintenance on a plane, then you don't fly the plane if it's not maintained properly. It looks like the Iranian government can't blame this crash on lack of US parts.
It's sad when every daily occurance has to be tied to some political action whether it's in Iran or the U.S.
I hear your parents should apologize for bringing a moron into this world. This article has nothing to do with Obama. Do you people idolize the man (Obama) so much that you have to type his name on every comment?
Some people need to go back and read this story again. At no time does it state that Iran has blamed the US for this plane crash. What it states is "Caspian Airlines is a Russian-Iranian joint venture founded in 1993. Iran has frequent plane crashes often because of bad maintenance of its aging aircraft. Tehran blames the problem in part on U.S. sanctions that prevent Iran from getting spare parts for some planes. Caspian Airlines, however, uses Russian-made Tupolevs whose maintenance would be less impaired by American sanctions". Iran also uses ther planes, some built here in the US (like the C130 mentioned in the article).....those are the ones that they complain about.
I am not a fan of Iran, but it pisses me off when I see Americans acting like jackasses and saying that it is a good thing that 160+ people died in a plane crash.....no matter where they are from. GROW UP.
I feel sorry about the plane crash and the civilians lost but I remember news footage from around the world (Iran) when 9-11 happened and there were crowds of people in the streets cheering over the loss of over 3000 civilians in this country.
Thank you Veteran Patriot, for a voice of reason. Although you disagree with the politics of Iran, you see this from a humanitarian perspective, which is really lacking in these threads lately.
jeff-362275-Yes it's true they were cheering in the streets after 9-11, but does that make it right for us to do it too? That's called stooping to a lower level to gloat. It also serves no purpose.
And to all those posting call it "Gods" will or punishment from God, if that's the case and "God" punishes us all for our deeds here on earth, what does that say about the 9-11 attacks on our country? What were we as "God Fearing Americans" being "punished for"?
jeff-- That was propoganda, although I am sure there were some happy, as there are some here who don't care, the real thing is that most Iranians don't hate us and most Americans have no hatred for them , its the governments who hate each other. 160 people died here , feel bad for the families. You should know by now that you can't condemn a people for what a few say and do.
I keep reading from people on here that most Iranians dont hate us. I would like to know where they are getting their information from. Who took the poll in Iran? Was this question put on their presidential ballot? What I see/saw was hundreds of thousands of Iranians storming down the street 30 years ago invading our embassy. And more recently, whenever Israel takes action to defend itself like it did a few months ago against mortar and rocket attacks on their civilian population I see Iranian citizens in Tehran marching in protest burning Israeli and "American" flags. Until I see some "valid" information to the contrary I believe most of Iran hates Americans as demonstrated by filmed protests in the past. When I see a pro American demonstration in Iran I will change my opinion
You're entitled to your own opinion, but what we Americans see of Iran is their government's propaganda ... staged "protests" that are broadcast to the world. Their fanatical clerical government controls EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that is released by their "media" within their country and to the world.
Have you ever spoken with Iranian citizens about the general concensus of their countrymen, or are you making broad assumptions ? I have spoken with many Iranians, and they do NOT want the government under which they are forced to live. They WANT women to have more freedom ... they want what we Americans take for granted.
We, in America, have a lot we can complain about, but consider this .... we and our loved ones have the RIGHT to do so and don't have to live in fear of being tortured or killed because of our disagreements.
We also have so many choices from which to acquire our news or other information --Internet that's not filtered or shut down, newspapers, magazines, radio. Our information isn't changed to fit government mantra. Our children's textbooks have accurate information and not solely what the government dictates should be taught.
So, you might want to think about your definition of "valid" and read a little more about the differences between the truly free world and those who are suppressed by their cleric, dictatorship governments.
I don't care who made the airplane, Russia, US or the Chineses, if the Iranians, who do have full access to their Russian made spare parts, cannot maintain the aircraft, then, oh, well, .. "it" happens.
Admadinajah is spending a fortune developing nuclear missiles to wipe out Israel and the USA .Might I add with the aid of Russia . I would think a fleet of passenger aircraft would take a back seat to his killing mission .
Most of the people of Iran at least 90% of them want to be liberated from the rule of these tirants . The world has witnessed this through TV and internet ,after the RIGGED election in Iran .
When a dictatorship rules the people WAR is the utmost agenda.
Well said Veteran patriot, well said!!!!!...............most people judge buy the influence of what the lib media reports, not on fact of there own experiences if any!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually - it is the Conservative Media who disparage anything Muslim or Iranian. Most HATE does NOT come from the Liberal Media. Most hate comes from the Religious Protestant Fanatics of the US. Catholics don't seem to spew that Hate as Publicly as the Protestants.
Dongle...don't see Protestants in the USA attacking or burning other peoples houses of worship...as the Taliban and Muslims do world wide.
Dont don't see Protestants in the USA murdering girls for attempting to get educated...as the Taliban does..
Don't see Protestants in the USA cutting off any ones head...as Taliban and many Muslims support....
Dont see protestants in the USA rioting and murdering people over cartoons..as millions of Muslim's do...
Dont see protestants murdering film makers...a muslims have...
You may find 1 or 2 individual protestants who comitt hate crimes or murder people for religious reasons......but what you wont find is MILLIONS Of protestants who support such actions as you do in the Muslims world....
Compraing Taliban and radical muslims to "protestants" in the USA ....show real ignorance on your part
No more ignorant than the Protestants who send millions of dollars to the Tele-Evangelists each year.
And - Protestants did help Hitler murder millions of innocent men, women and children during WW II. Even in the 1970s - many Protestant Germans were very proud of that fact.
er, isn't the Ku Klux Klan mainly comprised of let's see...white.....anglo-saxon (whatever the hell that is)............PROTESTANTS!!! So let's take a look shall we? No protestants ever burning down a church? Never been to the South have you? Little black girls being thrown bodily off buses and being stoned in the streets for trying to go to a "white" school? (not that they wanted to, but "integration" was the catchword of the day). No riots instigated by White Supremecist factions (which usually also adhere to Protestantism or a similar religious background). And in the 60's you don't think these animals had the support of every other animal of their ilk? I am NOT saying there is anything wrong with Protestants. I am saying there is something wrong with the blanket statements you made. I'm pretty sure you don't personally know a single Muslim person; or else you would be more aware of how ignorant what you said was.
I suppose we'll get blamed for this too.
Possibly so....
My first reaction as well.....
Maybe they're Ahmadinejad loyalists getting their karmic payback!
Will Obama apologize for this?
Are these not the same people that stormed our embassy and killed the Marine guard?
We always here about the hostages but never about the lone marine at his post that stood his ground to do his job.
I am sorry if I got off topic but whenever I hear about Iran I remember the Marine at his post that gave his life to protect the embassy.
Hussein should go ahead and apologize for this travesty. It's obviously the U.S. fault. Poor muslims. Good news is they'll finally meet Allah. (lol)
Rocky Road,
You asked "Are these not the same people that stormed our embassy and killed the Marine guard?"
God bless him!
i just have to ask..have we broken the record for most plane crashes in a year yet?
Don't know if we have yet, but we are working in it.
In terms of the number of deaths related to aircraft accidents, we're not even close:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plane_crash#Statistics
read the article--we did get blamed for it
troy1,
You've just earned the Terrible Human Being Award today. I wonder how many people will be "lol"-ing at your demise?
I don't think there is any doubt that the west will be blamed somehow. It's the party line.
I thought the same thing jackle before I read the article.
LOL, and of course Iran blamed the US.
I didn't get a pay raise and my 401k employer contribution got cancelled, its all Iran's fault!!!!
Isabella,
If you follow this board at all you would notice the same people are against everyone and everything that did not come out of a Fundamentalist's mouth or that does not directly benefit them. These people are just as dangerous and heart dead as any terrorist.
They are not in any way the majority of Americans and do not represent either Political party. We have one of them that lives in our neighborhood and we all think he is a nut case.
This like any other plane crash is a shame and I'm sure many good humans were killed.
The bottom line here is that many wonderful people have died.
It's very sad. Families have lost loved ones and they will grieve for years and years.
My best thoughts to these families.
That man they call a President, over there, will blame someone in America or Israel for that catasrohy.
Took the words right out of my mouth!
Iran blames us for anything that happens in the world.... flush a toilet in Iran if it clogs up its our fault in the USA.
My condolences to all of their families.
Yeah, that's a good story, but it is offtopic, Rockyroad-531554. Not restored.
troy1, you're suspended for a day for violating #5 of the Code of Honor. You know the rules. Don't post like a bigot and taunt people about religion.
Unfortunate. A great loss of innocent life.
Arthur,
You're a jackass.
VP
Well said
Yeah, you certainly can't blame Iran's equivalent of "Joe the plumber" for the governments hardline views on the US or other Western nations.
Arthur is too stupid to understand that he is ignorant and insensitive.
Arthur-348233, I am saddened by the above quote from your comment #2.
It is terrible that you and so many other commenters lack sympathy for the victims of this plane crash and their families. Some even seem happy about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Veteran Patriot, although I am basically a pacifist, I thank you for your service and for your insightful comments on this horrible accident.
I look forward to the time when the world experiences a just and lasting peace. And, it will come when peoples around the world seek to learn from and help one another, instead of doing the opposite.
to Arthur
You are an exact example of what Isabella has said.
jameseg,
As long as there are people walking on this planet there will never be peace... It's great that you are a pacifist, but are you truly a pacifist???If faced with the death of a loved one,you would respond in kind.. Nirvana would be a great place to live, but it just doesn't exist..
On topic though, any death is tragic...
First-class death troll, Arthur-348233; if you think an article's useless, don't comment. You're suspended for a day for violating #5 of the Code of Honor.
Even when someone is trolling, Veteran Patriot, mind #1 of the Code of Honor:
To Veteran Patriot ref "To be left alone and able to live their lives".
So, VP, why do you suppose we didn't leave them alone?
What do you mean? You are going to have to elaborate a little.
Huh?
I confess, we probably did it!
No. It was Bush's fault.
Obama just inherited this problem.
Oh no...you said obama,
Get ready for the Bama Blows Dogs guy.
USSA-1155981 LOL. Bama Blows Dogs keeps getting suspended, maybe we've gotten lucky and he actually got banned.....
Simple question, why do you think we are over there "bothering" them?
Iranians, as a whole, are an educated people. They know propaganda when they hear it (unlike a certain segment of our population).
Ronman and arcangel -
Well said. I missed your posts earlier.
Veteran Patriot -
Please accept my deepest thanks and admiration for serving our country.
Ignorant posts are exactly that.... ignorant. They're made by those who think they know everything. In reality, they know very little to nothing and exhibit this publicly through their narrowminded and ignorant posts.
6 deleted, Joeb929's gotta let everyone know just how much he/she doesn't care about what happened:
Comment on something you care about, then.
Heather,
I see you edited the article to suit your needs.
You have a right to your opinion, and you know what they say about opinions.
Sorry but I could care less. Leave to Tehran to place blame on the U.S. for their piss poor maintenance on there Russian/Iranian built planes.
Tehran blames the problem in part on U.S. sanctions that prevent Iran from getting spare parts for some planes.
This is why I don't give a @!$%#!!!
Blaming is alway easier than problem solving. Besides, they really don't want to find out what is really the cause, that would mean taking responsibility.
SO??? Who did you say is going to get kicked off "Survivor" tonight?
Survivor? In July?????
And how about that American League last night!!
That is wierd now that you mention it. The only thing I can think of is they were bumming a ride but thats still alot of them.
Probably security guards to keep an eye out for infidels and political malcontents.
Momus, what planet are you from, or what drugs are you on?
Dave....... I'm wondering the same thing?
Momus,
Uh.....uh.....glad you could tear yourself away from your Old Testiment to share with us today.
You are so right. The families should sue since they knew the plane had faulty parts.
oopsie
I hear that Obama is going to apologize to Iran for gravity!
Vp- seems like your the only person here who has a working brain this morning. Thanks
When I see a pro American demonstration in Iran I will change my opinion
jeff -
You're entitled to your own opinion, but what we Americans see of Iran is their government's propaganda ... staged "protests" that are broadcast to the world.
~ Just my opinion.
I don't care who made the airplane, Russia, US or the Chineses, if the Iranians, who do have full access to their Russian made spare parts, cannot maintain the aircraft, then, oh, well, .. "it" happens.
So , whats the problem with this ?
Admadinajah is spending a fortune developing nuclear missiles to wipe out Israel and the USA .Might I add with the aid of Russia . I would think a fleet of passenger aircraft would take a back seat to his killing mission .
Most of the people of Iran at least 90% of them want to be liberated from the rule of these tirants . The world has witnessed this through TV and internet ,after the RIGGED election in Iran .
When a dictatorship rules the people WAR is the utmost agenda.
I feel for the families and pray for them to be eased of suffering. Its a tragedy
Well said Veteran patriot, well said!!!!!...............most people judge buy the influence of what the lib media reports, not on fact of there own experiences if any!!!!!!!!!!!
The infamous "liberal media" blame.
Almost as hokey as the, "It's America's Fault" that comes out of the middle east.
k.k.
You say most people judge by(not buy)the influence of what the "lib media" reports, not on fact of their(not there) own experiences, if any?
Does that "most people" include you? I'll bet it does.
Republican grammar... don't ya love it?
Actually - it is the Conservative Media who disparage anything Muslim or Iranian. Most HATE does NOT come from the Liberal Media. Most hate comes from the Religious Protestant Fanatics of the US. Catholics don't seem to spew that Hate as Publicly as the Protestants.
American Protestents are the Tabiban of the US.
Religious Idiots can't take the truth.
Chargerguy...
er, isn't the Ku Klux Klan mainly comprised of let's see...white.....anglo-saxon (whatever the hell that is)............PROTESTANTS!!!
If only Imadinnerjacket had been aboard.
