Am I the only person who is scared to death for this lady who was kidnapped with her own car in South Florida?? Aside from an obvious wig, Dateline has pretty much disclosed her identity, displayed the kidnapper's picture (when he specifically told her that he would come "get her" if he saw his picture on the news), and I just think that Dateline is asking too much of this woman to even take the chance that he will somehow get to her for telling her story on Dateline!

Could somone forward this to the authorities in Florida. I live in northern indiana and it was in mishawaka or south bend mall that they had similiar case and the one girl that was abducted I think was freed in Georgia could he have been up here and abducted her to get to florida? I think its a lead to investigate. The picture was to eerie that it seemed to be the same man.

whether the only living victim is in disguise or not does not matter. obviously the killer already knows what she looks like and can identify her by the description of the story she's telling

I hope dateline states what to do in that situation

Saw once on a tv show that IF you get into ANY car.....count yourself as DEAD

It said to hit the horn, drop right there, so everyone in that area would see the man trying to abduct you.

Also in the news near me. A woman, gun to her head, told to drive. She did.

Then on the highway drove into another guy. THEY CAUGHT THE GUY.

Makes you think. Do you want to be taken someone, tortured and left for dead never to be found OR be dead in a public place (at least your family would find you)

As far as the lady on tv now, wig etc.......if she hides he would find her. I am sure he followed her every move.

Brave of her to want to help and go public

I am surprised that the witness, they don't HYNOTIZE her for a better memory of him.

NOT just his face, but his mannerisms, the way he spoke, smelled etc

        Right or left handed

This story angers me. My anger is directed not only at the perp but at the Boca Raton Police Department as well. On what basis did they immediately deny Jane Doe's victimization? Under questioning for this segment the representative speaking on behalf of police agencies still does not seem to grasp the impact of their inept investigative "techniques". Still no acknowledgement of how this denial has negatively impacted this case or it's subsequent homicide victims. An emboldened psychopath will often "graduate" from assault to homicide especially one with the particularly heinous methods demonstrated in Jane Doe's case. A wealth of clues for any seasoned investigator.

Posting photos of the victims for which the crime task force was assembled was a motivator, I'm sure, for detectives ("This is why we are here") but I only saw three victims pictured. Missing still were the photos of Jane Doe and her son, both victims of this same psychopath. I am embarrassed for their failure even while they obviously are not. The three homicide victims were not only unfortunate to randomly encounter this man but were equally unfortunate that these crimes occurred in the jurisdiction of these two detective divisions. I wonder how many homicide cases that particular detective interviewed has led and I wonder what his clearance rate is. Probably not nearly as high as his unwarranted ego and smugness.

I think it is a woman. A big one, disguised as a man. Jane Doe says "Hairless," not beardless. The suspect knows about zippy ties, and the reflex to return the baby's bottle to calm him. Knows shopping habits of middle-class women in the daytime. Women of the generation described, grow big these days in the states. Hairless males are typically of Asian or African American ethnic origin and possibly rare, if my memory of introduction to anthropology serves. I would be inerested in knowing if Jane Doe spotted an Adam's apple. A man in a hat and dark glasses, I would think my attention would be drawn to any other distinguishing feature, so if it was not apparent in her description, maybe he did not have one. As you can plainly see, I currently have far too much free time on my hands!

I sure hope they catch the person respomsible. Such senseless acts. Shame on the police for not taking Jane Doe seriously and not coordinating their efforts better!

Interesting....I think it is someone from outside the country, coming in and out. I worked at the mall at this time and this the most interesting viewpoint. I think some of the other things, not mentioned on the show, are important ie other abductions suggested more than one person and manly strength. Like someone else mentioned, I wonder if Jane Doe would go for a hypnotism for more character details, or already has?

First off, if it was a female, it would have been obvious from her voice, I don't know many females that can pull off sounding like a man without it sounding phony, especially if they're nervous and acting on the spur of the moment. Also, just because he handed the bottle to the child doesn't mean he was nurturing or had a motherly instinct, he just wanted the child to be quiet as it was making him nervous and could make him botch the whole thing, or shooting and getting more murders under his belt. He knew that the bottle would act as a pacifier in keeping the child quiet and that's the only reason he did it. By the way, any race can be hairless if they shave/wax, or it is possible he bleached his hair so it appeared as if he had no bodily hair. Many men who are either gay or into sports such as wrestling shave all their body hair, it is a requirement in some sports so this could be the reason he was hairless, not because he was a female. I don't think he came from out of the country if he had no accent like Jane Doe says, anyone from another country would have a slight accent, even if they had studied English.

I think Robert is definatly not telling the truth. First he was the "control freak" discribed by Rosemary's friends then he goes to visit relitives in Indiana and doesn't call her once? Second if he said he tried why didn't he call her office or police when she didn't answer for a few days? Third and most convincing was when he was being interviewed sitting in the chair (fake) crying he said " I loved my wife, please help me find her" key word I heard was "loved", past tense, he knew she was dead. Kind of wonder why the interviewer didn't pick up on that one.

JustMoi & Barb make a good point regarding 'outside the box' methods such as hypnotism which could be most helpful provided it's done in a timely manner. Instead local police decided to submit Jane Doe to a lie detector test in order to disprove her. A victim/witness who appears to be a normal, well balanced, productive mother with no criminal or mental health history or motivation to fabricate such an elaborate story. Shameful.

It shouldn't surprise you, after all, South Florida has some pretty corrupt cops. It wasn't too long ago that they busted some cops trying to cover up some accidents of theirs by trying to blame them on someone else who they arrested, unfortunately for them, the cameras proved they were lying and they were disciplined, but imagine if that tape hadn't been around and an innocent person had gone to jail!

This story makes you think twice about voting for those who would free criminals. Why does everyone worry about freedom when it buys us this? Women should carry guns. Here in california, they're freeing some 20,000 prisoners soon because the budget. I say we need mandatory executions for anyone commiting murder, rape, armed robbery, drug production, and larceny like they did in the old days. They should have killed that madoff, and who cares about insanity and human rights? Whats insane is that our prisons are incapable of making anything. If we want to compete against china, why not have prison factories? And to prevent these criminals from forming, more youth programs to get young boys educated. A majority of criminals have trouble reading and writing, and dont see opportunity. I covered retributive, restorative and rehabilitive justice all at once. THERE!

As a further investigative theory, could it be possible that the Gorenberg murder was perpetrated by the husband, then the subsequent murders committed in order to give the husband an alibi by creating a "serial" offender. Probably not - but just a thought. Husbands who lawyer up immediately after their wives are murdered are always suspicious.

Malls in South Florida have crime all the time, even upscale malls like Aventura and outdoor malls like The Falls have had their share of rapes and robberies. No matter the fact there is security patrolling every now and then, the garages make it easy for these suspects to wait for you and kidnap you as they are not patrolled as much as the outdoor parking and tend to be more dark. People also tend to not park in a garage, as parking in a garage can make it a mission to find your car, something these criminals thrive on as there are less people walking by that can see what is happening (especially if the vehicle has tinted windows!). The best thing to do is to go to the mall with a friend or relative, an adult, and preferably a male, who can help subdue a criminal like this. Two people have a better chance against a creep like this than one, especially a woman. I never take my toddler to the mall (or the supermarket) in case someone tries to kidnap her in a store or someone catches us from behind when I am buckling her into her car seat. I am always aware of my surroundings to the point of paranoia, but if a perpetrator is crouching behind a car in another row and starts getting up and running towards me while my back is turned when buckling my daughter, I can become an easy, defenseless target even though I practice caution pretty much at all times. It's a shame that they disbanded the task force because it is when the cops are not watching that these criminals decide to attack again. Killers can take a hiatus for a few years before striking again so they shouldn't assume that the mall's now safe just because he hasn't been found.
