Great job US troops!! Congratulations on a job well done!! Thank you for your service!

Whether everyone agrees on the war or not, it would be nice to hear people support our troops. I have yet to hear anyone say,"Great Job". This is disturbing. Remember when our troops came back from Vietnam. Remember how rude and vile people were towards them?? Please do not let that happen again!! It's not a matter of why we were there right now. It's the fact that they risked their lives for to do what we asked of them.

Beyond the idiocy the Vice-president spews he is pretty tight on Middle East affairs. Go look up his history and you will see he has the knowledge.

Granted this should be Hilary's job, but the President has made Secretary of State a useless office. Till he appoints a Czar of Secretary of State.

The real reason for the trip is finally revelaed. He went so he could go visit his son who is serving in Iraq.

        from NY Daily News:

The Veep had breakfast in Baghdad with his namesake, Joseph R. "Beau" Biden III, 40

I am sure there are MANY U.S. soldiers over there who would love to have a visit with their families. But of course NONE of them are connected like the dummy Biden. We should kick him out of office for this.

Biden can easily step into SoS functions; he's one of the best in foreign policy and Obama is aware of this. There is no "pushing aside" of Ms. Clinton, but rather it sounds as if Team Obama works well together. Madame Secretary has a tremendous amount of State Department goings on; VP Biden has the most knowledge and background with Iraq, and key players there know him very well and respect him.

The Vice-President has said some regrettable things bringing him down to Palin level, however dash is correct about his knowledge of the Middle East. I am saddened that Hillary Clinton has been effectually "benched" by this Administration.

Madame Secretary is not helping herself. Even with a broken elbow (and I'm sorry for that, I know that can be painful) she really needed to show up...really. There is too much chatter about with regards to her not being up to the task. I think she is with no problem, and is only going to get fine-tuned.

But she has to show up. The Russia and G8 trips are huge.

Let's do some Obama quoting from when Bush was President.

"My assessment is that if we put an addition [sic] 30,000 of our outstanding troops in Baghdad it is going to quell some of the violence short term, I don't think there has even been any doubt about that," said Obama, adding "It doesn't change the underlying assessment which is that there is not a military solution to the political dynamic in Iraq."

Further, in response to Bush's August 28 http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/08/20070828-2.html">speech at the National Convention of the American Legion, Obama released a http://www.barackobama.com/2007/08/28/obama_response_to_president_bu.php">statement saying, in part: "Now we are dealing with the consequences of that failure of candor and judgment, and the President is using the politics of fear to continue a wrong-headed policy. It's time to turn the page on the failed Bush-Cheney strategy and conventional Washington thinking, remove our combat troops from Iraq

WOOT! Go Joe Biden. Beautiful move. Those in the know understood VP Biden would be a guiding force on the US withdrawal from Iraq and on the diplomatic effort that will be required to keep Iraq stable and united. Great move by President Obama. A lot is going on away from public view for national security reasons, but this we have been anticipating. Biden is brilliant when it comes to foreign affairs and Iraq is a complex region he has the most knowledge of.

Safe travels, Mr. Vice President. I know you're the right person for the job, but please be safe. Love Joe Biden!

Joe Biden makes the perfect Secretary of State. He is also doing great as Vice President of the United States. He is very inclined to foreign service because it is obvious that he has a passion for it. He has a smile from the east coast to the west coast and best of all he has at least 20 years of experience talking to foreign leaders, and it may be that they now love Biden more that they love Obama in France. Good man!

This is the guy who said, Along with Obama, that the war in Iraq was a lost cause , no way the surge would work , we should admit defeat and retreat immediately. Thank God Bush had faith in our troops and the war was won. Now it is time to start bringing our Boys home . Job well done guys.

We will still have troops in Iraq for many years to come . they will be there to support the Iraqi government and to be a Thorn in the side of Iran.

The easiest way to establish a democracy (republic) is for us to vacate. Not once in our history have we forced our idealism down a countries throats. Once we vacate Iraq/Afghanistan they can decide (Korea, Vietnam et al) wether they enjoyed the freedom we tried to provide.

JF, America is no longer a world power. We gave that up the second we started letting China buy our treasury bills. We more recently gave up that right when we started umping $100 billion into the IMF.

I guess that would explain the New Embassy there, the biggest in the World, ten times bigger then any other Embassy we have, 800 million to build, wtih operating costs added in over a Billion.

VP Biden's going on a diplomatic mission to Iraq? This must be a set up for his next appearance on Letterman. First of all until he does something about that comb over, nobody is going to take him seriously. Unless of course they mistake him for Donald Trump. I hope he's planning on doing a lot of listening which, unfortunately, is not his strong suit. Because unless Joe's got an Arabic speaking ventriloquist stashed in his suitcase, the Iraqis will quickly know him for the fool that he is. But, maybe the Iraqi leadership is taking his visit as comic relief. G-d knows they're gonna need it.

What is truly amazing to me is that we, oops the US Government bureaucrats find a need to tell/dictate to any country as to how their government/country should be run. For crying out loud these elected, anointed, appointed are unable to run our own government with any success. Most all should be put in jail for incompetency and dereliction of duty.. What a total embarrassment these idiots are.

I'm gonna fall over laughing when Iran invades Iraq in another 2 -3 years. Talk about being handed a country on a silver platter. Bush cooked the meal and Obama is the frigging waiter..

After reading all of these comments pro and con on our "crazy uncle Joe", the one we keep locked in his room, I just had to share this. I don't know how many of you saw it, but in the first film clip and announcement of Biden's "secret" trip, it showed him doing the normal meet and greet handshakes in the unloading area. If you look beyond Uncle Joe, you saw a military vehicle which I naturally thought was transportation for the debarking dignitaries. Then I saw the stenciled words about 3-4" high, LAVATORY WASTE, a military cra*per pumper. After LMAO for a bit, my first (and only) thought was that some snuffy (officers are supposed to be above this) probably felt that he was going to show his freedom of expression in a way that only enlisted can do. What are the powers that be going to do to him, send him to Iraq. It is nice to know that the military pumps it out now, instead of burning it with diesel fuel, or in the case of some idiot or despised officers, gasoline.

I hope everyone remembers this trip in 2012. When Joe retells the story of when he went to Iraq, there were a hail of bullets and he had to be swept away by Green Berets as incoming mortars were peppering the landing strip.

Well its about timewe packed up our sh!t and hit the road. I think its a shame that even one person had to die over there, and for what? There was no weapons of mass distruction. There wasnt any biological weapons. Heussane didnt have even any military force behind him. We should not have been in Iraq to begin with. When we got Kuwait out of their mess ,we should have washed our hands of the whole mess. BUT theres one thing about it, when its all said and done, Bush and Chaney and all people of OPEC are going to have to answer for all the blood on their hands!
