One would think that an 88 year old man would be able to get past his feelings of illwill and get on with what is left of his life. However, it appears that this man has been enveloped in a cloud of negativity throughout most of his life, and isn't about to change now. Funny how some of us get older and become dyed more darkly with the problems we've had all our lives, and others of us learn valuable lessons and let go of past enmity.

I hope that he has an epiphany before he dies, but it doesn't look likely.

I'm not Navaho, and am not sure why you think only THAT tribe would be involved. There are still many tribes living in the North American continent. Most of them though have been forced from their lands onto reservations far from their original homes. I am a heinz 57 mix. Last Thankgiving, we gave out over 185 16# Turkeys & had to purchase 40 more Chickens for the other 20 familes, when we ran out! We had served over 850 people or 215 families! It's sometimes hard-work, twice a month, to do this monthly, but It still feels good inside!! (There are no 'Paid" Volunteers--and we regularly contribute money as needed for special times--like toys for Kids, who wouldn't have much of a Christmas, otherwise!) None of these families belong to our Church--but are qualified for the Surplus Food Program! We don't just talk about doing something to help "needy families"--we are active in helping them!! LU-- Are you also Active in helping Others!? Or are you just "Another Talker"!!? I also donate 20-22% to Charities, which includes DAV, Salvation Army, Homeless Rescue Mission, &--special funding for Nat'l Guard Families, serving in War against Terrorism! accually geneticly, some races are more evolved. when you hand all the technology and knowledge to third world nations they can appear to be culturally equal, but they are still third world peoples. its not "stereo typing" of a race, it is scientificly proven they are not equal and it reflects in them on our society.

I think hate is something deeper than that. I don't think people hate because they really believe that skin color makes them different. No Race is "superior", but there is no doubt each has different characteristics that evolved in light of the environment they lived in.

Dark skinned people were most likely the first. When they moved north, their skin became much lighter so as to generate sufficient Vitamin D where there is less sun.

Every difference has a function.

Kenyans are generally the best Marathon Runners in the World. Pygmies are generally short, and thrive in Jungles. Inuits can survive in intense cold, that would kill most others. These physical differences are easy to observe. People are different.

Then there is Intelligence. I won't go there, except to say it is highly overated. Who are generally the most Intelligent kids in school ? The Nerds. Socially inept, unpopular, they often fit in very poorly. They also don't thrive in life. They often remain unmarried. When they do marry, few marry attractive people.

The most successful people have a mix of desirable characteristics, regardless of Race.

Certain societies have evolved to a superior point. However the main flaw in your argument is that this superior point must be qualified and can only be done so to match your own life experiences and values. As an American, your values will differ from a person from a third world nation. However, from a genetic standpoint or evolutionary standpoint, third world peoples may in fact be more fit for survival which is in my opinion the ultimate judge of advancement. Often times in my experiences, folks in third world nations were closer to the land and understood how to fend for themselves. The average American, believes that Walmart is the answer to all survival issues. Wouldn't know how to survive on their own in nature. You be the judge, which is more likely a sign of advancement, the wealthy and lazy or the poor who need to make their own way in a harsh world using only what they manage to inovate.

Here is a thought. If Kenyans are the best marathon runners and so on, due arguably to certain physical characteristics that are advantageous to them in their environment, then what does the massive upsurge in obesity in western nations say about our state of advancement?

Anyhow, genetics are quite different from Societies - or Culture.

Archaeologists and Historians have discovered and chronicled any number of failed Societies, from the Romans to the Mayans. But these Societies did not fail from any Genetic shortcomings; they failed from Military, Political, and Ecological disasters.

I suppose if you took a Brother and Sister, locked them in a cage, and waited for several generations you would have a truly inferior Genetic Product, but even that would have nothing to do with Race.

Races are pretty much equal. Or Mother Nature herself would have killed them off (and HAS).

As far as Obesity goes, our bodies have been trained to STARVE since the beginning of time. They are unprepared to deal with this very recent bounty that has presented itself to the civilized world in the last Century.

If sufficient food were here for maybe 100,000 years, evolution would eventually tune our metabolisms to make obesity far less likely. In the meantime, put down the chips ! (but as Homer would say, they are SO tasty)

If you look are cultures throughout the world the most advanced cultures are the one that are near water.

The closer to water, the more advanced the culture.

Salem Cat, Thanks for the note. I am definitely independent. I rarely get called a republican because I am very outspoken against the current republican party. It is not the party of Lincoln. Many would mistake me as a democrat because I tend to vote along social issues and prefer the platform of the dems. But I don't much care for hypocrisy on either side and see it alot in both. Unfortunately, we don't have alot of independent political voices here in the south. Alot of blurring of the lines is more like it. Also I grew up hunting and fishing so I own guns. Thats it. I m not sure I even believe in race as such. Acording to research, we are all genetically identical meaning we all date back to common ancestors. Labels based on skin color are just a case of mislabelling if you ask me. Society is the only clear division I can see in Humans, I.E. our backgrounds, and that is spread evenly across ALL members of a society(whether or not they care to admit it.)

This ends up gauling alot of folks. They can't stand the thought of having any similarities with people of other skin colors or ethnicities, even when they grew up in similar circumstances. This also applies to sexuality, i.e. the gay marriage issue. So divisive for no reason other than fear of the unknown. This primal instinct ends up ruining more lives, killing more people and causing more episodes like either the shoooting today or the muslim a week ago.

It is fairly easy for intelligent people to form a theory that sounds compelling in first utterance and when placed under the microscope often crumbles(I am not saying you are wrong BTW). The danger is that if they are proven wrong, where does that leave the other people that were convinced that this was a true statement. I.E. The followers?
