What a surprise, the good guy gets reamed and the A-hole that puts everyone's life in danger will probably receive counseling and told it was not his fault for running from the police because of his poor childhood, and that he has a right to sue for the officer ramming his car because it's not police policy. Another blown call by our wussed out police administration.
What's ridiculous is if he hadn't stopped the criminal before the school zone and actually hit a child, it would be said not enough was done.....I know Sgt. Lacourt did the right thing and can not believe he is being counseled for this.
I think someone high than him needs counseling he did the right thing and keep children from being killed. Some one on the department needs to pull there head out of there ass and look at what he did. Stick your policy up your butt it can't cover everything and keep this nut from taking out children is no reason to do this crap to him he should be getting a raise or metal or something not getting his butt in trouble.
Who ever is over this need to look for other work if they can't see he did the right thing then they need a different job. When did common sense go out of police work for some written policy. Get real do the right thing by this hero.
Take you little written policy and stick it where the sun don't shine.
Sgt Lacourt your a hero to us thank you for using you head unlike your uppers.
I'm not a big fan of the HPD, but in this case I think the officer did the right thing, whether the maneuver is not part of the department's policy or not. For the first time in a while one of these guys do something right and instead of getting a slap on the back or a high five, he has to go to counseling. What would have happened if this guy made it to the school zone and killed 3-5 kids. Then the parents and school would have been screaming about why didn't they end the chase earlier on the open road.
