There is a difference between integrity and opinion. You can have an opinion andhave enough integrity to keep it to yourself at times. The Miss USA Pageant was not such a time. While I do not agree with Miss Prejean about marriage, she was asked her opinion in a public forum. She was right to be honest. I suspect (my opinion) that the question was specifically asked to stir controversy. Whether true or not, Perez Hilton certainly lacked any integrity. Any response - positive or negative - by him to the answer was simply wrong ...and that has nothing to do with left-wing or right-wing fascists and their media machines.

If it is a "civil right" than give them a "civil union". I don't think it is right that they cannot visit their loved ones in the hospital if they are ill or are unable to handle their own affairs but homosexuals should not enjoy the same rituals as heterosexual couples because marriage is also a religious ceremony and not just a civil one. California does not recognize 'common-law' marriages. We do, however, recognize civil unions.
