You are right. But this guy was way off...... three men died over dog pee? How stupid! Take the jerk out and give him one to the head....the world does not need him at all.
I felt badly about the officers deaths as it was...but for dog pee?..
.And their poor families...I feel awfull for them.
You can't blame the dumb dog it's just a dog. I take my dog out after he eats and he never has an accident in the house. When he was a pup I rubbed his nose in it and never did it again. If I were the mom, I would go ahead and get rid of the dog for all the trouble.
Shame, just the other day, here in these forums they were extremely critical of the police who waited on swat to go in to a killing spree for 90 min. Now we have what happens when you walk into something blindly. I say again , There are reasons for procedures.
You are such a bunch of dumb sh*ts. Can't you see it wasn't the because of the dog peeing that cracked this guy up but most likely all the other things that had happened before? Boy, people are so stupid and narrowminded.
What planet are all of you from? As the poster before me asked, can't you see the dog peeing had NOTHING to do with this guy being a violent killer to the police. That is just grab you headlines. It sounds as if he just had enough of life. He was a angry person starting before he was kicked out of the Marines for throwing a food of tray at the drill Sergent. Something was very wrong with him and it seemed very calculated to shoot at the police and aim to kill.
Those jerks who keep preaching the "Obama's going to take away your guns" slogan so that they can sell more weapons should have to pay restitution to the officers' families and be charged with criminal manslaughter themselves.
The article said "long rifle" not "high powered assault rifle."
Also, for the record, at close range a pistol can kill just as easily as a rifle. Assault weapons aren't the problem. It's CRAZY PEOPLE WITH GUNS that are the problem.
Seriously - why blame the equipment? Blame the nut-job pulling the trigger. JHC. I swear...
Talk to MSNBC because apparently they got the story wrong, then. (Not surprising, really...)
Why do you need a computer? You don't truly need one, but you wanted one, didn't you?
Again, assault weapons are not the problem. It's nut jobs using the assault weapons that are the problem. One of the officers was shot in the head. That can happen with any kind of artillery.
I do not believe the mother. I believe she knew what was going to happen. My family is from that area and told me that they had heard that she told the officers that there were no guns in the home. These police officers were ambushed by both the mother and son. My prayers go out to the families of the police officers. Also, this is exactly why there should be a ban on assault weapons. This individual owned an AK-47. Can anyone tell me why people need to own assault weaons?
CYP-Thanks for pointing out to me the difference between an AK47 and an AK47. Like I really care which "version" he owned. The point is he owned it and I don't think he was using it to hunt rabbits in his backyard. People who own ASSAULT WEAPONS buy them for one reason...to hunt people. Get over yourself buddy~
Also, this is exactly why there should be a ban on assault weapons
Define assault weapon please. That's a very vauge term. Assault rifle refers to those weapons devised for military use, such as as the M-14, M-16, M4, FN M249, etc etc. These weapons are typically select fire with a fully automatic option.
Perhaps you refer to assault weapons as matte black with synthetic stocks or picitanny rails that allow them to attach scopes, dot sights, grips, flashlight and laser sight mounts. Since virtually any gun can have specialty stocks made to represent this style of look (yes the military style) would all guns then fit into your category of assault weapon, and subsequent banning? How about weapon caliber? Are you going to ban 7.62mm? That's equivalent to .308 caliber and the primary round of choice for hunting wild game like deer.
People who own ASSAULT WEAPONS buy them for one reason...to hunt people.
Really? Well that's news to me. You see I own an AR-15 that's outfitted with the all the aforementioned items above making it look suitably military. When was the last time I went hunting people? I would have to say never because the only thing I do with it is shoot paper targets, I don't hunt wild game, and I don't shoot inappropriate targets like tin cans or cars.
Why do I shoot paper targets? Because it helps improve my concentration and discipline, it is fun, and because if I didn't train to handle firearms there's a chance I could accidentally shoot someone and if I did I would feel very bad about it because I'm not a fan of violence, unless I have to protect someone from another person who is using violence.
This is really sad. I feel for the officers families. The lesson to be learned from this is that the police should not have responded to the call. I mean come on. A dog urinating. They honored the fallen officers at the Nascar race today and said that they fell in the line of duty. While technically true, what they actually died for is nothing to be proud of. The dispatcher should have hung up on the killers mother. I think the guy shot them just because they responded to such an insane 911 call. I think that is why he did it. If I were an officer of the law I would not have responded to such a call.
Police are obligated to respond. They died in the line of duty working to make the world a safer place. It is unfortunate that they did, but they are indeed heroes for it, because freedom requires sacrifice.
It is better to loose an officer than it is to loose a building full of people. Sorry if that sounds callous, but that mentality is one every officer of the law should be readily willing to agree with.
My heart goes out to the families and friends of the fallen and wounded officers. My prayers will be with them.
I can't imagine how that mother must feel, knowing that her son killed the brave police officers that came to settle a dispute between her and her son. What a sad tragedy-- The nuts are coming out of woodwork these days!
When men are killed over dog pee....all reason has left the house. I don't like the idea of AK-47's...and I am very pro-gun...but not for these weapons....it is one hell of a note when dog pee endangers the responsible gun owners ability to have reasonable firearms.
This had nothing to do with the dog or even the Mom. The shooter had lost his job earlier in the year and couldn't deal with it. No paycheck, no structure and no standing with his friends because he was jobless. For some men that robs them of their manhood and it becomes impossible to tolerate. But instead of channeling his feelings into something positive like job hunting or retraining he decided on the downward turn and waited for the excuse to vent his rage outward! The dog lit the fuse and the mother calling in the police detonated the situation. The police died because this man couldn't handle being rejected by his employer and had to take it out on someone. I'm surprized he didn't bolt and crash his old job site and continue killing there.
The mother had to know there were guns in the house, rifles are used for hunting so if he hunted, the mother knew he had guns. She probably didn't care, just wanted him out and gone. The local humane society should take the dog away from her and find a better home for it.
Wow, someone with brains. Unlike some of the stupid uneducated people in some of the other posts who thinks it was just the dog peeing that made this guy crack.
carol, you are right. this mans rage had nothing to do with the dog or mother. the dog was a scape goat. when we have pets alot times people will take their anger out on them. that really makes me livid. this guy had not worked, he was a bomb waiting to explode. the dog, poor thing, was probably a nervous wreck with the tension going on in that household, compunded with the factor, sonny was too lazy to take him out. when a dog is properly trained they do not all of a sudden urinate on a rug because they feel like it. again something was very wrong, and the dog sensed it. that animal should be out of that house and protected most of all i feel very bad for the cops who took the hits they did not deserve it..my condolences to their families
You are right. Dogs have a sixth sense and can tell when things are not right in the house. About a year ago, our dog was acting very nervous and later in the day we had a small eathquake which shook the house. Hopefully, someone will adopt the dog if the mom wants to get rid of it.
I keep wondering when we will say enough because this is only going to get worse. What will it take to see that the Rep. and Dem. alike are working together to take over this country. How many more have to snap and kill or be killed before we unite and get what is ours back? There are people living on the street, there are children having to face life without a home and a feeling of safety. Unless we help those in need this is going to get worse and fast. More suicides and killings are on the way unless we, you and I do something about it. How sad that this man took so many lives, how sad that he did not get the help needed before it was to late. My prayers go out to all involved including him. Is it to late for us, will we go down without a fight? I can say this; if it comes to that one world power I do not and will not live in that kind of world. I do not want my family in that kind of world. I understand the feeling of hopelessness and fear that so many are feeling.
luvenia i do not think it will come to a one world power. too many people would revolt. i will say this, if we help one another like you have stated, i honestly think that there is hope. i can give you a beautiful example. there is a homeless shelter in the state where i live. it is the ymca. it is one of the few shelters in my state that takes whole families. a friend of mine is in sort of dyer straits but he is luckier than some he does have a home. he knows a lady who lives at this shelter she lives at there in an a small apartment, and to earn part of her keep she is a coordinator who helps these homeless families as they come in. she gets them settled in the shelter. not an easy job. but she does it. there is a code there, that everybody tries to help one another no matter what little they can give. this lady needed to go grocery shopping and does not have a car. my friend does and he took her. he was short on cash for food so she bought him a few groceries.as you can see this is a small example in this shelter of give and take. each person tries to help the other. if this would happen more and more in this country, i think perhaps we can get the country back. countries are not made by world powers but made by it's people. this is one step. also keep praying.
Poplawski had feared "the Obama gun ban that's on the way" and "didn't like our rights being infringed upon," said Edward Perkovic, his best friend.
So at what point do we hold Rush Windbag and all the media outlets like Fox that are preaching hate and misinformation for this kind of thing? Those of us that have actually bothered to fact check the garbage "news" that is being fed to us know that Obama is not going to take away gun rights, nor does he have the power to. So now we have all these conservative nut-jobs believing everything that Faux News spews forth (they won a class-action lawsuit for the right to LIE, look it up), and thinking that Armageddon is coming. Well I have news for you, folks. Armaggedon is a self-fulfilling prophesy. Misinform and frighten enough people and we will see it, but it certainly won't be God's doing, it will be man's will.
Thank you Zumia ... Limbaugh, Coulter, Keyes, Glen Beck, Sean Hannity et. al. are a HUGE part of the what is stoking the fear toward President Obama. I have been told that a Miami gun show held in January was overrun with people preparing for the civil war that is about to erupt .... As far as President Obama taking away citizens' guns ... he said specifically during the campaign ... and I'm paraphrasing ... I don't want your gun but I do want to stop the AK-47s in downtown Detroit, Chicago, LA etc.
Doug, I don't think he killed the police officers because of Rush Limbaugh, or anyone else, for that matter. I think he was stressed out and "blew".
No, Mr. Limbaugh, or any other talk show host, does not go around encouraging people to shoot police officers or each other. I think what Zumia and Lisa are saying is that the "hate mongers" on the news are just stirring people up, and their angry voices help to spread hysteria.
I agree with them on that score. If you read this entire blog, there is a lot of misinformation, anger, and fear. We are all anxious these days, wondering if the economy is going to get worse, will we find a job, if we have a job, how long will be keep it, etc. I don't think the 'hate mongers' are helping to calm anyone down these days.
And please don't worsen the situation by saying "liberal radical types", can't you just say, "radical types"? There are radicals at both ends of the political spectrum, as well as any other spectrum you care to name.
Well thought out post Dowser. Sometimes the hate from both sides on these blogs is ridiculous. You are right....we are all anxious. The hate helps no one.
If he truly feared losing our right to bear arms then he would not of made such a negative impact on our rights. This guy was nuts and our rights had nothing to do with setting him off.
An astonishing thing seems to have happened to the case of Richard Poplawski and the three dead Pittsburgh policemen: It's been turned into a story about dog pee -- and not about the fact that Poplawski was fueled by a toxic mix of white-supremacist/conspiracy-theorist paranoia and mainstream-media fearmongering, including from the likes of Glenn Beck and Fox News.
Maybe the media are collectively embarrassed by the way this case demonstrates how they play an important role in whipping up the far-right crazies out there. Because not only did Richard Poplawski avidly participate in white-supremacist online forums and right-wing conspiracy-theory sites, he also avidly consumed mainstream conservative media, particularly Fox.
The classic instance of this: A few weeks ago, Poplawski posted a clip of Beck talking about FEMA concentration camps on the neo-Nazi Stormfront forum site.
Â
But hey...it was all about the dog peeing on the carpet. Yeah. Right.
Just another typical loser out there, there's millions of them. Can't get through school without problems, can't get through boot camp, can't hold a job. On their way down they take as many as they can with them. Exept this little turd wore a bullit proof vest, didn't even have the stones to go out like a man. Now we can pay a hundred bucks a day to keep this weenie alive for the next 50 or 60 years. Guess mom won't have to put up with his ass anymore.
This is really Obama's fault.....he lost his job because of Obama, he could not find a new job because of Obama, his dog peed on the floor because of Obama.....well perhaps if he was not clinging to his guns........and could some one explain why he had an assult weapon in the first place?
If it was over the dog pee and escalated, why the heck was he wearing a bullet-proof vest? He had enough time to put on the vest before the police arrived and apparently didn't want to die. He was trying to take out as many police officers as he could. This was pre-meditated murder. He should get the death penalty.
i agree with you carolyn, this mans evil, in the time it took the police to respond to the 911 call he had time to get his bullet proof vest and load his gun and hide behind his mother while she opened the door before firing upon the unsuspecting officers and wounding others that tried to save their fallen comrades, he planned it, he intended to kill as many as possible and wearing the vest would mean he would last longer, im just sorry that a good cop couldnt have got a bullet in his head since we will all be paying to house this scumbag forever now, condolences to the families, what a pointless reason to die
I FIRMLY BELIEVE that once a person starts shooting other people that the person automatically FORFEITS all his rights, and the police should start killing these people as "standard operating procedure" rather than was our tax dollars taking them into custody, giving them a trial, and paying to feed and water them for the rest of their worthless lives.
I agree! In another article this idiot is quoted as saying, "I've been hit...I'm standing down. Come in and help me." WTF! This loser kills 3 police officers, catches a bullet and then decides to give up. Let the police be allowed to finish off these aholes when they won't eat their own bullet. (They should have shot the dog too!)
i think once someone commits murder and they are injured in the shoot off, scuffle, tripping over themselves whatever they should be denied medical treatment, i know i know, human rights blah blah, he should lose all human rights when he purposefully took the life of someone else.
"Poplawski had feared 'the Obama gun ban that's on the way' and 'didn't like our rights being infringed upon,' said Edward Perkovic, his best friend.
The unholy trinity of the the NRA, the gun manufacturers and organized crime, that promotes the "the Obama gun ban that's on the way" non-sense, "wins" again...because we Americans are morons.
Jon, I was thinking the same thing. . . this guy ambushed responding officers because of a pending Obama gun ban? I wonder what this guy's Newsvine screen name is.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! What a bunch of idiots to think that the poor dog was to blame for this crap. It never ceases to amaze me how people can't see beyond their own nose. And why get rid of the dog??? It's not the dogs fault. It's this yahoos fault for going apeshiit. He was a walking timebomb ready to explode. ANYTHING would've triggered him. People disgust me when they blame animals for their own undoing. Idiots.
Yes Sandra-Brooks (I used to work with someone named Sandra Brooks, btw) I mean, people put the blame on the wrong thing. This guy was ready to explode over ANYTHING. It could've been his mom burning his toast in the morning. Now the poor dog is going to end up at a shelter because of all of this. Sorry, but this is the exact reason I prefer animals to people.
The NRA is at least partly responsible in fueling the mindless paranoia that our freedom is somehow threatened unless we all have access to guns in our homes.  Listen up you NRA yahoos, I don't think the government is "out ta gitcha", but if they were, considering the resources at their disposal in this day and age, your silly rifles and handguns ain't gonna stop 'em. All your gun ownership is doing is threatening the safety of the rest of us.
This guy was afraid the government was going to take his guns. He just made the case that they probably should have. America will be a better place when we stop making it so easy for any idiot to own those easy-killing-machines we call guns.
agree, violent past, thrown out of boot camp, cant see how he obtained one, could easily be an illegally obtained one in which case no gun law would have worked here.
Sometimes I wonder just what has happened to a large part of this country. It seems there are many borderline paranoid schizophrenics who are just a hair's breadth away from cracking. Many of these people have been abused by political agendas capitalizing on their fears in efforts to garner their votes. I blame the Far Right Wing on this. Not for their position on guns but for their implied calls to citizens of a need to somehow defend themselves. Many cleverly crafted statements with double meanings. All the rhetoric used in this past election, noteworthy that it was used extensively in Pennsylvania, has contributed to putting these borderline nut cases on edge.
What causes people to do things like this? That's a question that psychologists will continue to debate, but I believe in most cases you will find underlying evidence of fear and a feeling of being threatened for their own survival. In some cases the reaction leads people to become "martyrs" for their cause. It is the same kind of reaction that leads fanatics to strap on suicide vests. You might think that over time these people would end up self eliminating themselves, however it appears that actually it's the kind of thing that feeds on it's own examples.
I recently watched for a second time an HBO special called "Right America: Feeling Wronged". Clearly a Leftist view of things, being a documentary done by Nancy Pelosi's daughter, but nonetheless, something that should be a cause of concern to all of us. It actually explains a lot of the comments you see posted on NewsVine. You can say that every political cause has it's extremist nut jobs but what was evident here is just how large that extremist group may be. Seemingly "normal" citizens adopting beliefs of impending doom. Being threatened to their very core to a point that you can see many of the disillusioned among them taking things to otherwise unthinkable extremes.
In watching this special a second time I really question how thinking human beings can fall prey to rhetoric and adapt it as their own beliefs with the fervor of religious fanaticism. Some in the political arena have understood this vulnerability and have used it for their own gains. Unfortunately, I believe they have created some unintentional monsters with this strategy. I suspect the individual who is guilty of the heinous act in Pittsburgh is a product of that. Time will tell as the story evolves, but this wouldn't be the first time some seemingly normal person has reacted extremely to Far Right rhetoric.
What fear was going through this young man's mind when he grabbed his rifle to meet the police at his door? He then engages in a gun battle expecting it to end with his death as evidenced by his phone call to his friend. What was the thing that he was so threatened by or the cause that lead him to be ready to become a martyr for? We can point to loosing his job as leading to his state of mind, but it's probably just a contributing factor to an otherwise overwhelming underlying issue. There are tens of millions suffering without jobs right now struggling in this difficult economy, but most are just doing their best to survive.
What makes turning to rebellious violence as the solution to one's problems? How does the human mind even conclude this to be an appropriate response? On a crude level it rings of the "Fight or Flight" response to a threat. If that's the case, what is the perceived threat? I think that's the real question we need to answer. How is it that a segment of our citizenry has come to believe that things like Gun Control, Gay Marriage, Abortion, Immigrants and even Government itself, are so inherently evil that they should feel threatened as if their own lives hung in the balance? I can understand people having strong opinions about all these but are any of them life threatening? Many of these same people seem to be in denial about climate change, dwindling natural resources and threats of natural disasters. Is it about the hand of Man vs. the hand of God? I see that as an argument sometimes used to support positions.
We are in difficult times and most of the population is experiencing changes to their lives. The key to getting past this is how we all deal with it. Change is always associated with the unknown but we need to see that as new opportunities as opposed to threats. Some in our society will react badly to change and be overwhelmed by fears. Those who try to sell their positions by utilizing people's fears need to take some responsibility for their actions. They may not want to believe it but they are contributors to some of these tragic occurrences. All of us need to think about the messages that are being given to us. Is it one of threat or one of opportunity? Threats lead to instinctive "Fight or Flight" response, while opportunity leads to creative thinking and new possibilities. One is about animal instinct and the other is about what separates man from beast. Unfortunately some among us may revert to the animal within us.
Fact is Republicans/NRA use the same fear tactics that worked so well for the Nazi back in the thirties. Oddly enough the same blood lines are involved in both movements--BUSH, WALKER, PRESCOTT------------ring a bell for anyone?
Mrs. Poplawski reported that her son only liked police when they were not curtailing his constitutional rights...
..."Yeah, I've been shot," and "I'm standing down, come in and help me,"
First of all, there's no way in Hell that guy gets out of the house alive. Secondly, this guy just lost all sense of reality until he himself got shot. Third, kind of reminds of some of the right wing nut jobs on the Vine...out of touch with reality.
We need to do something about the guns in this country. The actions of this man accentuate the fact that his fears were unfounded. No one is going to take away the guns of the citizens of this country. However, stricter laws must be found. A higher standard of gun safety must be achieved.
Guns kill. People kill. But people with guns kill exponentially and with greater ease.
To all those who are opposed to stricter gun laws I say TOUGH SH**. The time is now to wise up and stop the insanity.
Might not believe it but I agree with you about the laws. But we already have the laws and should start using them. He had a violent history and the cops had dealt with him before he should not of owned guns.
I carry to protect myself from idiots like him and the one in NY, I also do not go anywhere I am not permitted to carry. I however a not a nut and do not have a history of violence. I also don’t own an assault weapon as an assault weapon is made for offence not defense.
And that is what i mean by more control. I do not advocate resting the guns of hunting or self protection from any law abiders hands. I simply believe that things have gotten out of control and we need to re address the issue.
The irrational cries of those who say that we will lose the right to own guns altogether is absurd. However, I will never accept any argument for the case of ownership of rapid fire weapons. Absolutely ridiculous. And..is it so hard to accept more control over who owns and how long one has to wait? It is easier to get a gun than a drivers license in some parts of this country. That to me makes no sense whatsoever.
while i agree with better gun control, i have guns by the way, i mean anyone with a violent past, history of drug use, criminal record, history of depression etc should not be allowed to buy a gun......
....heres the problem though - drugs are banned and how well has that been working out for us, guns in the same way as drugs will always be available to those who want them, they get them illegally, you cant track that, you cant stop that, so all you do is arm criminals and disarm good citizens. i know a gunman went crazy in new york, but on the other hand what if someone nearby had a gun, they could have taken out the gunman and saved maybe 10 + lives????
I have spoken to several policement who have all told me that taking guns away from the population will not stop criminals from owning guns. Their suggestion was to enforce the laws we have, and give longer sentences to criminals that use guns to commit a crime.
To me, their position seems reasonable. They are on the front line, too.
As our society's values break down lawbreaking of all sorts is becoming more commonplace. The big boys pocket millions at the expense of the working folks, who get laid off without hope of employment. Without universal health care there is no access to mental health care for people who are hurting bad... Wonder if this guy could affort COBRA payments ? Wonder if he lost most of his 401K savings? Living with mom, not much of a life... Wonder what prescription drugs he was taking; no mental health counseling available but they will give you drugs... My heart goes out to the cops, the dead and the living who are on the front lines of society breaking up...a violent society that has brought death to MILLIONS overseas, by backing muderous regiems all over the world and fighting senseless wars for the benefit of the rich. Karma folks...maybe its coming home...note this guy tried to be a Marine...By the way I am a gun owner, God bless the US Constitution and the 2nd amendment. I think all these killings get mass media attention as a means of stimulating other nut cases to go for the news coverage, leading up to another mass media push for more gun control. "Common sense gun control" is a buzz phrase for prohibition, registration and eventual confiscation. Awful lot of gun killing coverage since the election...Gun ownership prevents a lot of crimes but the mass media will not cover this as often it never gets beyond the people involved and maybe a police report...no news in an individual successfully exercising their right to self defense with a firearm. No news that fits into the media's adgenda...
Ambushes are a hard thing to be prepared for, and I heard one officer say one day, it had been a good day for him, because "HE" wasn't going home with any BULLET holes in him. Crime today, is becoming so endemic, that the thing we have just read about, and absolutely crazy NUT, can be ready to kill just about anybody, anytime, and anywhere.
Peoples inability to see, and have a decent future, a job, family and what ever else goes into a successful life style, is being cut short and challenged more and more, as all of humanity sinks deeper into this present dilemma of overcoming universal DEPRAVITY.
You can stop dogs from messing in the house by rubbing his nose in it. It's sad the police had to pay with their lives over something so trivial.
I say again , There are reasons for procedures.
...was precipitated by a fight between the alleged gunman and his mother over a dog urinating in the house.
still another example of where pissing and moaning leads one...
Oh please, that's just cruel. Rubbing his nose in it is lazy. You can train a dog in more positive ways.
This guy is a disturbed psycho who could have been set off by anything. It just happened to be the dog's urinating in the house.
It is time to renew the Federal Assault Weapons Ban in the U.S., join the cause on Facebook.com @ http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=75914118342&ref=nf
Those jerks who keep preaching the "Obama's going to take away your guns" slogan so that they can sell more weapons should have to pay restitution to the officers' families and be charged with criminal manslaughter themselves.
awb2009-

Why do you need a computer? You don't truly need one, but you wanted one, didn't you?
Again, assault weapons are not the problem. It's nut jobs using the assault weapons that are the problem. One of the officers was shot in the head. That can happen with any kind of artillery.
Why blame the equipment? Blame the shooter.
At least we finally know who to blame, the dog.
I am leaning more towards what you said as well. This guy planned it. THis was not over dog pee.
c
I'm sure the families of the three officers slain are happy for that distinction.
That being said, I thought the story mentioned a long rifle, not a assault-looking weapon.
The 2nd wasnt put in there for hunting. Its pretty simple.
Define assault weapon please. That's a very vauge term. Assault rifle refers to those weapons devised for military use, such as as the M-14, M-16, M4, FN M249, etc etc. These weapons are typically select fire with a fully automatic option.

If the cops get a 911 call, by law they must respond. Plus the dispatcher could get fired if he hung up like you say.
It is one hell of a note when a guy will murder anyone else over his dogs pee.
Take care and have a great day--
Well thought out post Dowser.
Yeah. Right.
Sorry about the double post. *chagrin*
Whoa .... I thought you were serious at first.
You had me for a second. There are always going to be nuts with guns.
Â
Idiots.
I too am amazed at the posters on this one! It is scary that there are so many ignorant people out there..
So have they released the transcript of the mothers 911 call yet? I am curious to hear the call.
His mother should of had an abortion, then 3 policemen would be alive today.
Brought to you courtesy of the NRA!
The NRA lobby in Washington and its ability to squash any reasonable amount of gun control..THAT is what the NRA has to do with it.
Chet Heston said "..From my cold dead hands...". Well, yer dead Chet. Now give up the weapons of mass destruction.
America will be a better place when we stop making it so easy for any idiot to own those easy-killing-machines we call guns.
thank you, someone out there has a functional brain.
Premeditated Murder of three police officers=DEATH Penalty in PA!
Maybe in twenty years, after his army of lawyers files appeal after appeal. The lawyers will fight each other for the privledge to defend Poplawski.
As it should!
In Texas this guy would get to go to the head of the line.
How can these guys even shave? You know vampires have no reflection in a mirror.
Rushing to defend someone like this is a career move.
I think that the dude is disgusting but even murderers are entitled to a defense.
If this guy did not have a GUN then everyone would still be living. Sad!
Under current law I can’t see why he had one. He has a violent past and that will keep you from legally buying one.
agree, violent past, thrown out of boot camp, cant see how he obtained one, could easily be an illegally obtained one in which case no gun law would have worked here.
Hey, Kenneth Lane, nice stab at a straw man there. Now how about THINKING RATIONALLY for a minute. Have you ever tried that?
Glad he has guns to protect himself and his family. Another fine example that "guns don't kill people, people kill people".
Yeah, I want to hear that hear he could of stabbed them or burned the house down. Well maybe the victims would of had a fighting chance.
if the poeple in NY had been armed they would of had a fighting chance too.
yeah give all men, women and children guns. Wouldn't that be a great enviroment to raise a family in?
Please take a small portion of this country and you and yours go at it.
Thank you, Dowser. That's the most intelligent post I've read today.
Common sense gun control is not a buzz word for anything but common sense.
