BUILD THE FENCE! BUILD THE FENCE! BUILD THE FENCE!
Why are the democrats in congress so opposed to doing this? Why has Nancy Pelosi ended her support of an E-Verify program that has a 99.6% success rate?
When are the American voter's going to "Dump the incumbent's" from BOTH parites who are the members of the "WORST" congress in U.S. polling history?
The reason both parties do not want to disturb the Status Quo is the vote tally that illegals will give to the party that makes them legal.
There is nothing to any of what the Democrats do that isn't designed to increase the votes for their party come 2010 and 2012. They want a one party system by then.
They then would have the power to make the country anyway they wish it to be. Remember that President Obama is a Constitutional Lawyer and he will nominate up to three (3) new Supreme Court Justices this term. The more liberal they are, the more ruling will come out in favor of the Secular Progressive movement.
More Abortion for Blacks, more gun control, more spending for those not working or don't want to work, (redistribution of wealth) and more sitmulus spending designed to be given away during the next two election cycles (buying votes in 2010 and 2012; ie US $ 3 Billion to ACORN in this stimulus package alone).
Close the border, let in the people that want to come in to work and live, but they must do so legally and stay out of trouble. This is not too much to ask.
You would be surprised at how many would vote Republican if they came in legally. They understand the importance of having the means to make themselves better off on their own.
How high would the fence be? I don't know if any of you dumbasses noticed their PLANES were seized... they don't bring 12000 kilos of coke by jumping/crossing the boarder they fly it over here and there is no fence that can stop that... I bet the cops seized double of everything they are announcing, the problem is that it went right back in the streets and the money they kept it for themselves, corrupt pigs.
Our government want to give them amnesty when we should be putting them in jail or body bags. Pelosi is a idiots and some day the american people will take their country back.
Thomas-melloni is right. This isn't an article about immigration, it's about syndicated crime. While you guys each have your points, you've completely missed the point of the article we're supposed to be discussing.
The undocumented workers who make y'all so mad don't have private aircraft. This article is about something else.
I'm glad we got our crap together and pulled this off. Now, if the Calderon government could just do the same at the source.
What? You really think that they don't send it back into the streets and keep the money for themselves? How many evidence gets lost from the evidence room or never arrives?
You just showed your own hypocrisy. You call racism on every post that mentions illegals or assume they are all Mexican. But it's OK to assume all the cops involved in this were dirty?
Just because you take drugs doesn't mean you're an addict. I work full-time, pay my mortgage, and vote. I just happen to enjoy things other than alcohol. And don't group peope who take drugs in with the cartel. The main reason there' so much violence connected with cartels is because it's a black market. Didn't you read the article where it says "U.S. narcotics market"? If drugs were legalized and regulated, we wouldn't have nearly the problems we have today trying to fight a war that can't be won.
Yes, I agree on a job well done by people on both sides of the border, but the question remains how many of the accused will walk due to crooked lawyers and liberal judges! Especially on the Mexican side. Something we that live down on the border have come to know as La Mordida, loosely translating to the bribe!
thomas-melloni: "What? You really think that they don't send it back into the streets and keep the money for themselves? How many evidence gets lost from the evidence room or never arrives?"
Of course there are examples where a member of law enforcement engages in illegal opportunism. But they are occasional instances, not the norm.
And that's my position. I can see that I'm not going to change your mind, so I'm not going to try.
Thanks mothership! Last month their approval rating was 23%. The month before it was 14%. I can only assume that the fact that they were able to pass the stimulus (bailout bill) package that some misled Americans actually thougt they were worth 1/2 a damn.
Florida Bobster, regarding the above quote from your comment #1:
I think the fence has merit. But, it will not stop drug dealers who have boats and planes.
I support the efforts to capture and convict these drug dealers. But, we also need to do a better job of preventive education and rehabilitation to greatly reduce the demand for these harmful illegal drugs.
I think the majority of recreational drug users are generally a total non-threat to society. I think a lot of the punishments for non-violent crimes like marijuana possession (for personal use) can be too severe.
But, that said, I can't think of a single benefit to legalizing currently restricted substances. I know some of you can, and I think I've heard all the arguments before. I remain unconvinced it is in society's best interest.
Furthermore I think most people would agree that all drugs are not created equally. While marijuana might fundamentally be a recreation (akin to alcohol), meth and cocaine and heroin are something else.
Going after the people who bring drugs into the country on the scale of a crime syndicate is completely different than persecuting the recreational user. Drugs like meth and cocaine destroy lives, keep blocs of lower income citizens in thrall, and foster crime.
The criminals mentioned in the article were trafficking a number of drugs that have no social defense whatsoever. And while they did have some pot and some ecstacy, I think you'll agree that whatever groovy component might be inherent in said substances is negated once you introduce a profit motive.
These guys, in Mexico, roll severed heads onto dance floors. They kill law enforcement by the dozen and bury them in trenches. They torture and execute government officials. This is definitely the sort of behavior we want to punish - and punish severely. My hope is that Mexico will begin to turn the tide soon.
Relax, I'm not arguing that you should be sent to a supermax for your stash. I'm just saying that your hippy spiels don't apply to something like this.
The major downside to this is that any of these scumbag drug runners were taken alive! It would have been a much better story had it read that "700 drug runners killed in raid on Mexican drug cartel" Dead drug runners dont tend to move many dugs, actually they dont tend to move much at all.
The thought of legalizing drugs in this country can only be explained as the thoughts of those that are predisposed to using them. There are many things in this country that seem pointless to trying to stop but we do it because the downside is much worse. You know, kids have been drinking alcohol illegally since it was created. They have been sneaking it from their parents booze cabinets, or having someone older buy it for them. I would imagine that you would like to see the minimum drinking age dropped also? We would not have to spend money on all those police officers that are harrassing all those high school and college kids while they are drinking "responsibly" while underage.
The number of people who take any idea that they're opposed to and call it Socialism is a true testament to how moronic this country is becoming.
Let's take this story for what it is - a highly successful law enforcement effort - and be happy about it.
Build a fence, and they'll find another way around it. We need to treat the disease and not the symptoms.
As for those who think that only those who think that legalizing drugs is only encouraged by those who use them, take a look at conservative Milton Friedman, who supports legalization, and try to describe to me what illegal narcotics he's on. I'd be interested to see how well prohibition of alcohol would work in this day and age, and how many deaths or accidents would be prevented. Something tells me that the Speakeasies of old would pale in comparison.
While we're rolling on this subject (no pun intended), Jarhead's probably right to lament that these guys didn't eat it in a big, Hollywood shootout.
Now they're headed to prisons where they have status in organized gangs and can continue to call the shots from behind bars.
Of course I'm not ACTUALLY disappointed that they were taken alive. I'd just like to see some assurances from the authorities that these guys will be isolated and rendered impotent while behind bars. Like, maybe we could put them in South Dakota or Minnesota (somewhere that's not interesting enough to host a series of "Lockup" episodes).
The GREAT WALL never kept out the invaders as originally intended. They allowed the people to work! So is the Republicans proposing that we use our tax money or stimulus package to build a WALL encircling USA instead?
Yeah build the fence. Neighbors have borders, why not Meheeco. This is America and we speak American! Build it, enforce it, keep them out. Our economy depends on it !!!
Those MILLIONS should go a long way towards the construction of the Great Wall of the USA!! Sell off the planes, boats , cars and guns too!!! All proceeds go towards the wall!!!
That's a lot of drugs and my hat is off to the law enforcement people for doing it. The only people that will complain about it are the drug users. The ones that are in denial to the fact that drugs are okay to use. I'm not down on marijuana but the other drugs ruin peoples lives. I was a heavy drug user and I lost everything from it. Our children are being exposed to it every day and they get addicted and in the end they turn out to be criminals and addicted to these drugs. Their productivity in life declines rapidly and they are pushed to the side never to reach their full potential. Some people wake up in the morning and the first thing they are looking for are drugs or a place to get them. People spend their entire paychecks on drugs and it just gets worse. After a while, people wake up and wish that they had never done the drugs and pray that they beat the addiction. Most people don't get help and end up in jail (as I did). You stop doing the drugs and stay clean, you start to get a life back and they things you lost during the addiction. I'm glad we have enforcement people to catch the drug dealers. The drug dealer profit from our stupidity. Most of the profitable drug dealers don't do there drugs or drugs at all. It's all business for them. Drugs users are their pawns and they move them around with ease. Get addicted and stay addicted. What's it to them? Nothing.
Guess they will all be in line for the free handout by Obama. He wants to open our borders and this is what we get. Anyone wonder why he is not mentioning illegals? Let's start with his illegal aunt, who is probably having her afternoon tea delivered to her by the White House staff.
Lucky that they are AT LEAST in prison in the U.S. and not in Mexico. One of the most notorious cartel leaders, "Chapo" Guzeman more or less walked out of prison. I think what a lot of Americans who support drug legalization lack, is a first hand understanding of what is going on in countries like Mexico. Legalizing drugs in the U.S. would necessarily require those drugs to be legalized in countries of production (like Colombia) and routes of transport (like Mexico) to keep the cost of the product low for consumers. However, those countries suffer from high levels of poverty and corruption. The last thing they need is a population with cheap and easy access to drugs. American's raking in $1,000 a week might be able afford some escapism from time to time, but a Mexican who doesn't make that much in a month cannot. Nor can a society struggling to develop and legitimize itself as a major player in the world economy.
Actually you will probably just legitimize the business they already do. They have the know how, and the connections. If marijuana or cocaine were legalized, I doubt major drug companies would be able to take over without their help. Moreover, if the major drug companies were successful in taking over the business, the violence would just escalate even more as they tried to find new ways to make money.
I guess that most people don't realize that if you legalize some drugs but not others, you will actually create more violence. The majority of drug violence is related to a cartel or group's "market share" of the trade. By shrinking the market, you cause these groups to have to fight for their markets, causing an uptick in the violence. The smaller the market, the fiercer the competition. This is economics 101.
And treatment does not work if the addict doesn't want to get clean. Court ordered rehab does not work.
your hopes for a fence....HA HA HA ....funny...you have Janet Nappitano in office...see what she did for AZ and then you will know what you can expect from her...shell take every local budget for fighting the illegal problem, mark my words...ask Sheriff Joe Arpaio
That picture reminds me of an episode from FurTV where an old friend of Lapeno's brings a sh*t load of drugs with him and asks Lapeno to watch it but while they're gone partying one puppet, Mervin, is left at home and finds the drugs and, thinking it's candy and cake mix, makes a cake with the drugs. Then when the other puppets come home with the man's girlfriend they eat the cake and go on a drug induced party. It's hilarious.
Well, where the fence is being built, they are building ramps on the other side of it so all they have to do is walk up the ramp and jump over the fence. I'm afraid it will take much more than a fence. It will take armed forces at the border. All the more reason to get our troops out of Iraq. Now.
Why don't they just put electric barbwire over the top of the fence and underneath the fence and along the middle so that if they try to cut through, climb over or crawl under they'd get electrocuted.
The votes from illegal aliens helpes get Obama elected....don't think for a minute that he's going to do something to change this at all.....We need to thank Clinton for SHAFTA while we're at it
I know how to put the drug cartels out of business overnight and forever! LEGALIZE!! Legalize this crap, if people want to sit around and get high, let them! It's obviously what there doing anyway, right? Think of the tax revenue, we could payoff the national debt in 10-20 years! Control the stuff in state run stores, make it illegal to use anywhere other than your own home, period.
In the Netherlands, drugs have been legal for decades and they have zero crime attributed to drugs and a lower usage rate because they teach their children to make the right choices. C'mon America, wake up!
the "FENCE" is a joke... and has NOTHING to do with this article.
on the subject of the "FENCE".. clearly not a soul could scale or tunnel under or just ram right through it. your an idiot to think that the "FENCE" was even remotely a good idea or a good way to spend our money, when clearly there are other venues and options that should be investigated with that throw away money.
shame on us for thinking we can stop the rich and "powerful" from having their servants. I lol
if we are to do anything we MUST get stricter, meaner, and more unrelenting, and it starts at the top first kiddies.
Here comes the gun control. The dems knew of this for years and they won't support the stronger border due to their want for more gun control. There are more drug gangs to deal with first. The 201 "wannabe" gangs. Get your guns now, it will be soon. Then you will be sorry. 165 "weapons" and this is cause to worry? That is why the anchor babies are allowed to remain here, to buy guns for their friends and family. My car was smashed by a drug dealer with a car that was registered to a 9 year old kid. In 2000 the mexican president ( FOX ) wanted the US to Open the border and this is what happened. Thanks to Bill Clinton and Vincente Fox. MORE BORDER PATROL and a stronger border. This is the only answer. NOT gun control.
The votes from illegal aliens helpes get Obama elected....don't think for a minute that he's going to do something to change this at all.....We need to thank Clinton for SHAFTA while we're at it
You must be using the stuff they seized today if you think for one minute that illegal aliens have the ability to vote in this country!
At a press conference announcing the arrests, Holder also suggested that re-instituting a U.S. ban on the sale of assault weapons would help reduce the bloodshed in Mexico, where last year 6,000 people were killed in drug-related violence.
Most of the weapons used by the Mexican Drug people are full automatic weapons and yes that would be an Assault weapon in that sense.
The ban on "assault type weapons" in the U.S. would be against semi-automatic weapons, since full automatic weapons are illegal without a special permit/license. Therefore more B.S. from the government and media !
I don't give a crap about how many Mexicans are killed in their own "politically corrupt" country. I care about the American victims!!!! Hopefully, you won't be one of them when the "cartel" hits the streets in your town!!!
steech, Careful now, locking them up in a far away place like Minnesota? Minnesota was one of the states that were raided. How about building a prison in northern Alaska for them. Simple, but secure. So long it doesn't block Palin's view of Russia.
Kevin, If 1 person in ACORN can cast 200 votes by himself don't think for a minute that an illegal alien using stollen credentials couldn't cast a vote. Illegal aliens are getting drivers licenses and more to elude authorities. This same identification is all thats needed to step into a polling station.
The Democrats want to allow anyone to get a Drivers License then they can vote. You don't have to show citizenship to vote. You only need an Address. An ACORN worker voted 72 times and NOTHING was done to him. This is the truth. He did vote for Obama.
I would like to know the last time an AK47 was made in the US? If someone wants a gun, they're going to get it. That's why their called criminals. Banning guns in the US isn't going to help anyone, but the criminals.
At a press conference announcing the arrests, Holder also suggested that re-instituting a U.S. ban on the sale of assault weapons would help reduce the bloodshed in Mexico, where last year 6,000 people were killed in drug-related violence.
Mr. Holder seems unaware of the 2nd Amendment which is just one more reason why he should not be part of any Administration. There is a way to prevent people from coming across our borders illegally and it's inexpensive and effective, it's called a bullet.
So, Mr. Holder seems to think that the Mexican armed forces, armed with the FX-05 fully automatic rifle, will be "outgunned" by semi-automatic rifles and pistols that they purchase here in the U.S? He also thinks that the drug cartels purchase AK-47 rifles here in the United States and import them south to Mexico, ignoring that most of the illegal arms in Mexico almost certainly come from the rest of Latin and South America?
Made their bed: You're right about my Minnesota gaff. I didn't realize that Minnesota was one of the sites of the crackdown.
Furthermore, I totally understand that no one in Minnesota, South Dakota, Alaska, wherever is lining up to have these guys warehoused in their state. I don't want violent people incarcerated in my state for crimes committed in a far away place. The point I was making was that there needs to be a place where they're insulated from the aparatus and cannot continue to call shots from behind bars.
As for you guys who are commenting about Attorney General Holder's comment on restricting fully automatic weapons:
The argument seems to be that criminals will continue to get guns regardless of their legality. The argument also seems to be that as long as criminals have assault rifles, citizens should be able to maintain parity, for protection, by owning their own assault rifles.
I can't completely defeat those arguments, but they don't provide any comfort for me either. Here are my thoughts, which are sure to inflame some of you guys, but please hear me out.
On point one: It seems like banning certain types of weapons will at least make them more expensive. This will result in either scarcity or an increased reliance on foreign produced weapons (like AK-47's). Regardless, banning assault weapons will at least take SOME guns out of the equation without any cost to society or challenge to the second amendment. For that reason, I'm supportive of bans to an extent.
Because (point two): I've never thought of an assault rifle as the ideal weapon for protection. I've always thought the ideal weapon for protection was the easiest one to use. I think there are a number of small caliber handguns that are easiser to use and store than an automatic weapon.
When meeting lethal force with lethal force, it's not the size of the combatants' ordnance that determines the outcome. It's who pulls the trigger first.
To qualify my position, before I get blasted by NRA members: I'm a supporter of the 2nd amendment who isn't comfortable with the prospect of being armed to the teeth or making my home into a fortress. Maybe I'm lucky, but in Alabama it's just not necessary to ferret away assault weapons to protect my family. I see a distinction between protection and overkill and can see no positive benefit to overkill.
I have been to Juarez and was thrown in jail for not having money to pay-off police, and paid several others off in seperate events, so they(mexican police) are corrupt.
The problem is Steech that the assault weapons ban isn't needed. It is already against the law for a private citizen in the United States to own a fully automatic weapon without a permit. To qualify for one of these permits, you have to undergo extensive background checks. It has been that way since the '30s (if I remember correctly). Standard 9mm pistols with extended magazine capacity and shotguns with more than a 5 round capacity are lumped in and called "assault" weapons because that makes them sound more menacing.
I am an ardent supporter of the 2nd Amendment and a member of the NRA, even though I don't even own a firearm despite growing up around them and having friends who own them. That will almost certainly change in the weeks to come, with the promise of new legislation coming down the pike. Criminals often obtain the guns they use to commit their crimes illegally, so how will banning the legal purchase of broad classes of firearms to the average citizen stop criminals from obtaining them and increase one's ability to defend one's self?
I support background checks and reasonable waiting periods, but not outright bans and violations of my 2nd Amendment right.
Thanks for commenting. I'm glad you respect my point and made your counterpoint without insinuating I'm a traitor or something.
I guess the way I really feel is that there are weapons for sport and defense. Then there are weapons designed exclusively to kill people. I don't see any social benefit of the latter, and that's why I don't really like weapons of certain types.
I think background checks and waiting periods are like most other government regulations: porous and inconsistent. I don't think they adequately control the proliferation of weapons in our communities.
Your point that criminals often do not get guns legally, and that bans would only affect law abiding citizens is noted.
But I draw on an example from my own life. My dad doesn't go anywhere without a handgun. Now, he's certainly not going to commit a crime. He's an Army veteran and knows how to handle a gun. But Dad's also getting older and more complacent.
He left his truck unlocked at a gas station and the gun was stolen while he was inside paying. We talked about this afterward and Dad admitted to occasionally leaving the gun in the truck while parked in his driveway. We live in Alabama, so he leaves the truck unlocked at home.
Two years later, the gun was recovered in a drug arrest in another state. Had the gun been involved in a violent crime, my Dad would have been provided the weapon through his inattention to gun safety.
The NRA answer to this situation is to say that my Dad didn't abide by basic gun safety. And that's absolutely true. But I contend that my Dad is a pretty good measure of the average guy and the incident merely demonstrates how easily a legal firearm gets transformed into an illegal one.
If a ban was enacted on certain types of guns (those with no utility in sport and inferior utility in defense), it would lead to scarcity. Fewer would pass, in the above manner, from a legal weapon to an illegal one. Those obtained illicitly would, in turn cost more, and thus become prohibitive for criminal activity.
It's a limited gain, I know. But, again, I support it only because I can't see what we lose by enacting such a ban. It only limits our capacity to kill, but does not restrict our ability to hunt or defend ourselves.
Then there's the problem with making guns so available in the first place: You and I are not going to handle a gun irresponsibly. But a brief perusal of the type of comments on message boards like this one indicate that not everyone is completely rational all the time. I, for one, do not trust all my countrymen equally and am made uneasy by the prospect of a society armed to the teeth.
Because I see my own neighbor. My 22 year old neighbor wears a sidearm at all times. Some neighborhood kids get a kick out of provoking him about his openly racist views. The police were recently called after the 22 year old threatened to draw the weapon on the 14 year old kid.
This was definitely a crime - and was reported and investigated by police, yet my neighbor continues to wear the sidearm. I don't feel completely safe outside while he is. It's not the gun that disturbs me, it's the person holding it. He's not a mature 22, he's sort of a menacing type, and he broadcasts his white supremist opinion in a mixed-racial neighborhood.
In short, I don't think he should have a gun. But, of course, that's completely subjective. If he doesn't have any felony convictions on his record, it's hardly any agency's right to deny him the right to the second amendment.
But I would like to think there'd be a limit to the type of gun he could own. I think he's a candidate for mishandling a gun or even committing a crime with it. I'd like to limit his capability to wreak havoc.
And that's my point in a wider view: I don't oppose the right to bear arms. I wouldn't surrender my right to defense or even sport. Still, I don't think the 2nd amendment gives us license for extreme destructive capability. I think there's a balance to be struck and I'm not convinced we've struck the right one yet.
just take them back to the border and hang them over the wall to send a message to the rest of them that are thinking of selling drugs here in the u.s.
I'm in the construction business here in Maryland. I had several illegals working on one of my jobs, they were labors for a sub contractor. I called Homeland Security and they said that they could only go after the business. And that they did not respond to construction sites that that was up to the local Police. I called Baltimore City Police Dept only to hear that I needed to call,,,,,,,,, u guessed it, Homeland Security!!!!!
The kicker is that I know Spanish and these 6 men WERE ILLEGAL!!!! I heard them say so as I was walking my site.
So, I did the only thing that I could do,,,,, called that sub contractor and reported them for drinking on my job! They were gone that day.
It's all a joke! Now that obama is in charge its all going down the drain as I type!!
they said that they could only go after the business.
harley121, regarding the above quote from your comment #2.1:
Did Homeland Security refuse to go after the subcontractor's business for knowingly hiring illegal aliens? Also, did they state why they do not respond directly to construction sites?
Of course this is a digression a bit from the drug trade. I do empathize more for hard-working laborers in the construction area who endure much to come here than I do for drug dealers -- even though I oppose illegal immigration.
The FBI will refer you to the "Dept. of Homeland Security" which was formerly known as the Border Patrol. 28 of my neighbors called them and even sent our local office a signed letter about an illegal on our street who was stealing from us.
Homeland Security DID NOTHING!
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is lobbying congress to allow cheap labor into the U.S. to take our jobs away. Despite a camapign promise to end lobbying, Pres. Obama nominated Tom Daschle to be our Sec. of Commerce. Daschle's wife leads the 2nd largest lobby in the U.S.
So what your saying, is it's up to the CITIZENS of this country to take care of the problem!
Here's how............HARRASS THE HELL OUT OF THEM! Maybe we need to set up an american cartel that follows and harrasses them everywhere they go until they finally GO BACK TO THEIR OWN HOMELAND!
Can any of you racist tell me how any of you would know who is illegal and who isn't? Just by it's looks? is the only way that I can think of because if not you have no way to know... if they were to set up that website people would play pranks on people and then ICE would be knocking in your door every night.
All the undocumented workers in my town are actively trying to work. They're either getting ripped off by shady employers who pay cash under the table or are queuing for day labor on certain street corners and parking lots. Frankly, I wish my natural born, Anglo-American neighbors would get jobs and clean up their yard. In a perfect world, I'd trade a Mexican family for my Alabamian neighbors in an instant.
But that's as aside the point as all of the preceding comments.
This article isn't about immigration. So why is it that in almost every thread you guys have turned the conversation that way? I'd just like to call attention to the popular, miopic assessment of the situation.
The article is about Mexican drug syndicates. The Calderon government has no control over the situation - at all. The crime syndicates run roughshod over all government authority. The gangs control a widening sphere of life in Mexico. Some people want to take their families out of an area where gangsters roll severed heads onto dancefloors.
It's a macho culture, which is why the archetype target for you guys is the Mexican male. The fathers/husbands you revile are trying to provide food and shelter for their families. They can't do it at home, so they emigrate. For what it's worth, they're not doing so well here, either, living in shadow and crowded too many to single apartment units. But it's the best they can do.
The people you're so mad about don't own yachts or Humvees. They don't even wear name brand clothes. You guys basically abhor people who are making judgments you'd generally admire.
By vilifying the illegal alien, you compound injury to the victim. The problem is in the Mexican state, which is unable to provide the basic needs of its people. The United States isn't doing so well on that front either, frankly. We can't provide for both our own people and a considerable portion of Mexico's.
You all have my blessing to criticize Mexico. We have every reason to be real mad at Mexico for foisting this problem on us. Just please be a little more understanding to the guy who's just trying to make his life work. You have no more real control over Washington than they do Mexico City. Pick the right target before you level your hatred.
We have illegal immigrants all around the country. The government doesn't care about them. They can't get SSI because they don't have an SSI card. Guess they will have to steal someones identity to get that. Some people just don't realize that when you allow illegals to come to our country, they are probably hunted in their own country for illegal doings. If illegal aliens want to live a better life, let them overthrow the government and apply for statehood under U.S. Diplomacy. Then they can have the chance to build their country and have it taxed like we are and then they can see what it's like to have illegal aliens come in and take jobs away from people and help in wrecking the economy.
Do any of you remember the Brady Bill? Joe Biden turned it into the " Biden / Feinstein Crime Bill " and Clinton passed it on 05-05-1995. using crime to justify it. This is only to justify more useless gun control. the 1995 law was alowed to sunset in 2005 it had a sunset clause. There will be no stopping a full gun ban now that the congress and senate and white house are democratic strongholds. this 787 Billion Dollar "handout" had only 3 republicans to support it. Keep in mind that an AK 47 is fully automatic and the semi-auto is not any more than a replica. They do not sell fully automatic weapons at gun shows. And Never Did. There is a transfer tax that must be paid to the ATF prior to the sale and transfer of ownership of a real AK47. Don't be fooled again.
Just what gave any of you an idea that this administration was going after illegals.
The democrats in Congress voted against making it more restrictive to throw them out and block their coming over the border. We are under a full scale assault not just from Mexico, but from all over the World !
I think the vast majority of Hispanics in this country voted democratic. I don't think the Democratic leader are going to Bite-the-proverbial-vote that got them there.
Please don't tell me that the native born Hispanics are against illegals coming into this country. There is 10% of the Mexican nation living inside our country and neither the Democrats or Republicans are going to do anything about it.
There are 23,000 members of the MS-13 (Drug and other illegal activities) gang from Central America in this country. Go on the FBI website and look up Fugitives, they have about 1 million people on there list. (That was about two years ago, when I looked it up.
Do any of you really believe that our Federal Government is going to do anything about this ?
I haven't mentioned this in about one month, but I will remind some of you about the Third GREAT LIE: "Hi, I'm from the Government and I'm here to help you."
I have got some really bad news for all of you. The WWII generation is passing away rapidly, and all we seem to be left with in this country are the people who voted this guy in last November. They did the same thing in the 1930s in Germany. They elected a Savior ! They got a little more than they bargained for. We apparently are not any smarter. (Oh! do you remember his party ? The National Socialist Party ! )
If you beleve ANYTHING coming out of this admistration (just like previous admistrations) You arn't paying attention!
This is a "Show Arrest" to create the illusion that "We are Tough on Crime" The REAL goal here is for Holder to blame Americans for the violence in Mexico because Americans have "Semi-Auto Weapons".....THE DRUG GANGS HAVE ANTI-TANK WEAPONS....did they get those at a WalMart in El Paso?
Ok, so we caught a few. Arrest, Try and Convict. New charge: "Crimes Against Humanity". If proven it provides availability of the death sentence. Execute them, hang on the border at border crossings. SENDS A MESSAGE.
Do you have any better ideas? These people are CRIMINALS: Theives and Murderers, who push drugs on our children and cost the US billions of dollars every year while our own tax paying citizens are slowly being starved to death.
So, HOW ABOUT IT.........LET'S GET SOME IDEAS FROM YOU!
You must be some ignorant arrival from a third world country where a machine gun is a substitute for a government. That's not what the American way is or should be. Take your base thinking and moronic ideas back to dumbistan or wherever your limited faculties would be perceived as brilliant.
I thought that they ALL are hard working honest people trying to better their family's lives. That is what the Democrats have been telling us! Deport ALL illegals no matter where they come from and jail those that hire them!
How do you even know if they are legal or not... I bet that they arrested WHITES, Blacks, Asians, Hispanics and other races... what I don't understand is why you all jump into the conclusion that all of them were illegal if the article doesn't even talk baout it and besides not all immigrants are criminals.
This is why we need to build the fence and to place the National Guard on the border where the fences can't be built.
Close the border tighter than a drum and make those wanting to come to America to work, get in line and do so legally.
Everyone should be welcomed to come to America, if they do it legally and stay out of trouble once they are here. Most of the people coming to America want the Freedom and the opportunity we provide.
Get rid of the gangs, the drugs and the crime any way possible even if it steps on some toes to do so.
I'm not concerned about them, to hell with them... I'm concerned about your ignorance... even if you close the boarder the drugs are gonna continue coming in and there is nothing we can do to stop it, it's a business... it moved from Colombia to Mexico because it was more profitable... we are Fuc**D.
tomas - there is nothing you can do about the ignorance on this board. The drugs are going to continue until it stops... not before. But, some individuals, always have to have someone or some group to blame for their own failures. Remember, it was GWB and who tried to get the last amnesty for illegals passed. As a matter of fact, I remember watching him say to Pelosi and Reid, "See ya, at the signing." Both parties are to blame for this illegal mess. It has stretched the budget in my city to its limits. I have no idea where my tax money goes and why my property taxes increase every year, even though the value of my house goes down every year. It's a mess. It cannot be solved until people like DellFairchild stop spreading and believing lies and ignorance (more abortions for blacks). I don't where they get this crap from (then again, I think I do know), but it does nothing to solve the problem. He's a little statistic that you won't see very much of 44% of our military is made up of minorities... my son included.
I totally agree with some of you. Getting rid of all the illegals isnt really the answer here, because sadly enough many of the illegals are seen as valuable to some insistutions that can pay them less while profiting more. Crappy huh? Well, I do believe however, that the illegals here that commit crimes whether the crimes are towards U.S. citizens or other illegals...they should be given one chance...after they commit a crime...its bye bye. Maybe not hanging them on the border :) but something needs to be done to make examples out of these cartels. Mexican, American, white, black, asian, whatever...an example needs to be made.
p.s. you know Thomas I have been reading your comments...I try not to take sides on these forums.. I realize we are not all alike and do not all believe and value the same things, and that's the beauty of this country...unlike many other countries, we can express conflicting opinions freely. But you my friend, are a waste of air....I struggle to not quite go as far as saying you are a waste of life but it has crossed my mind on a few of your comments.
Didn't get the link, Scott, but my numbers are not far off. The July 30, 2008 Edition of the Huffington Post reports that 40% of the military is made of ethnic minorities, African American, being the largest group, followed closely by Hispanics. Things change in 7 years.
One of the sweet juicy parts about this is those that are not American citizens, don't have any rights. Maybe "we can" find a use for GTMO afterall. Muh ha ha!!
racist is not the term that applies where citizenship is the issue. Also racist has become such an abused appellation that its use is meaningless and sometimes even complimentary. So have at it, bro!
I agree with Tomas M and also with Edwin on everything. Many lost it as soon as they read 'Mexican Cartel'. This does not mean they're all Mexican, I re-read the article and nowhere did I see 'Mexican or Illegal' word. Don't some of you remember that not so long ago this 'White' grandpa was arrested after his grandson was kidnapped because that idiot stole money from a 'Mexican Cartel'. So there, not all are 'Mexican' or 'Illegal'.
To clarify the definition of a racist:
rac⋅ism
[rey-siz-uhm] Show IPA
–noun
1.a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2.a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3.hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
Origin:
1865–70; < F racisme. See race 2 , -ism
"White people think that the word is meaningless; to the rest of us..."
So who are "the rest of us" and why do you feel qualified to state what "white people think"?
Why is racism always pointed at a white person? I am white and not a racist one bit! It bothers me that people think that because I'm white I HAVE to be the racist. Well, I'll tell you right now, I have black friends that are by far more racist than anyone I've ever known and they are racist to whites! For God's sakes...what if I said "well then black Thomas" or what if I said...can we get a 'white history month' or how about with in my campus a 'white student's union' or how about white pride? Can I not be proud anymore to be white? My friends who are chinese can say they are proud asians, and my latino friends can have latino clubs and say they are proud latinos, but I am the one...the white girl in the group...who will be looked at as racist if I were to say I'm proud to be white, and that I'd like to start a white pride club...now please tell me whose racist.
Well then White Holly... tell me... how do you feel about the word racism... change my mind.
My personal opinion of a racist is a person that wants to blame a whole race for something they think is wrong or they don't like. I think each and every person should be judged on themselves and not sex, color, religion or even weight or hair style. And I am sorry but you sound like you don't like the entire white race. Am I right or wrong?
Go back and read the article again. This is about a drug cartel from Mexico, and the Illegal Drugs. There were only 165 weapons so this is not a gun conrtol issue but, Joe Biden will make it one. Watch and see. (and round 2 of the bank bailout begins.).
I didn't have time yesterday to reply to you... now... you can do any club you want and call it whatever you want, is not what you do but how you do it... when a Latin or a black person start a Latin or Black pride club we don't do it to HATE on other races we don't sit there to discuss how Fuc*ed we are because of this and the other, we actually share food, dance, and do fun stuff now... the last time I checked you alls white pride club was the KKK and it didn't do to well, the burning and beating up people part messed everything up.
So there you have it... start a club and remember is not what you do but how you do.
Tomas does this statement mean you think all white people are part of the KKK. If you do then this is what I was referring to as putting an entire race in one box. To me that is racist. Judge each person on his or her personality and how they treat you, not on their sex, color, religion and or hair style, weight or anything that may make them """look"""" different.
I'm still waiting on an answer to my question to you about you not liking the entire "white" race or is it just the American "white" race?
Look, you seem to be just like the average republican always misleading and taking things out of context... I never said that all Whites were part of the KKK but you can think whatever you want, I'll suggest some reading comprehension classes... I've lived in other countries and whites were always the majority but they were not as racist and hateful as over here, not all whites are like that but many are... all my life I though I was white until my family moved over here and I was told I was Hispanic, whites were the other ones the Americans which by the way is a very selfish term been that America is a continent but we don’t need to get into that…
I have white and Black friends and by the way I right now live in a very diverse City which is Miami so I don’t struggle with racism very much but when I first came to the US we lived in SW Florida and boyyyy that place was racist, I hated it because they took all the beauty away when I realized how racist and divided people were, I come from a country were our colored population is -.01% that’s how little our color population is (by the way the # was made up) but we almost do not have any colored people so to me racism was not existent, I knew it existed but never experienced or became part of it... I'm not racist, I'm 100% against it and it irritates me a lot when I see comments like the ones I saw in this post just like it bothered you when I talked about white people.
uh, great.. Now where do we put them? Let them back across the border to come back in or place them into our already over crowded prisons along with the other 40% illegal alien population inside the prison? We have gangs inside our prisons that run our prisons. Some say our prisons and thier staff are horribly corrupt . Who’s guarding the hen house boys and girls?
See, that's what gets me mad... where did you get that 40% number from? I need the source right now... Tic Toc I'm waiting... I know you will not be able to produce one because you made the number up in your head...
to you the numbers are 40% illegal aliens, 60% blacks and that's it, that makes up our criminal system... Ignorant.
17% of inmates serving time in the Federal Prison system are illegal aliens (2004 statistic) at which time, illegal aliens made up approx. 3 % of the country's population. (DoJ statistics, 2004)
The total of incarcerated illegal aliens drops to approximately 5% if you factor in state prisons.
3% drops to 5% That is the new math, right? and 10% is even less? President Obama cuts the national debt by spending 1.5 trillion more dollars. where do you think that these illegals should go. Gitmo and rest in the sun for a free vacation.?? at the taxpayers expense.
3% of the entire population of the U.S. is illegal. 5% of the entire prison population (federal and state) is illegal (drops from 17% in Federal prisons to 5% in all prisons). I'm sorry you can't read.
Lock them up, send the bill to the Mexican government. If the Mexican's don't pay up, reduce the amount of aid we send to Mexican by the amount necessary to house the thugs in our prisons. Do not send them home, they'll be back, with more drugs, guns, and violence by tomorrow morning.
Great work FBI, DEA, and local police... Let's keep the pressure on them!!!!!!! Obama should hire more agents to combat drugs and illegal aliens at the boarder.. Give the boarder patrols more control....send in the US Marines to weed them out...Protect our youth from these cartels.....
If Obama did this it would eliminate most of the funding for the CIA, FBI and DEA...So they give us a bust like this to make it look good..I wonder how many more are taking the place of the 750? MS/13 has over 10,000 members in the US alone and most are members of the drug cartels also this is only one of the many ILLEGAL Mexican and So. American gangs...
Over 80,000 illegals drive the roads of Texas each day. None are insured or have a valid drivers licence. The state of Texas says they do not have the man power to check them all. I love this country. We know how to fix all the problems of the world and fly into space but do not know how to protect our borders.
Sorry Edwin, I was being extremely sarcastic. I agree with you. But I am just one of those guys that would be embarassed to take a hand out and dumb enough to take pride in supporting my family.
Illegal is illegal. Back in the mid-19th C. approximately 100 years after my ancestors came to the New World (paid their own way and when there were no so-called immigration laws, millions of Irish, Jews, and Italians hit the shores. My ancestors, NOT being Episcopalian, Jew, and/or Influential Catholic, had to divide their share of the pie with the newcomers while the aforementioned simply supported themselves (each other, like the Socialist Scum they are) thus causing my ancestors to lose.
So, illegal is simply man's law(s) being enforced or not depending on how the Episcopalians, Influential Catholics, Jews want it.
Working the welfare system also means working the corporate welfare system (charities, et al) too.
Your a good example of a religious racists. You are baseing your theory on something you think happen 100 years ago and you want to blame everyone that happens to be Episcopalian, Jew or Catholic whether they had anything to do with your family or not.
Again please judge each person on their own personality and how they treat you not their sex, color, religion and/or hair style, weight or anything that makes them look a little different.
Journalism major: Someone who doesn't have enough comprehension of basic science to be able to report figures in consistent units. Pounds? Kilograms? Make up your mind!
I am in an industry that draws illegals, so I send out a letter to ALL suppliers and subcontractors. It reads like this:
WARNINGto all vendors: My company name abides by Federal and State Immigration laws. We will terminate all contracts and relationships with any vendor who violates these laws.
We've known of some vendors who do violate. We call a mandatory meeting and have ICE waiting.
Don't be shy about it. They're criminals the moment they set foot on American soil illegally.
yeah all right... ICE comes whenever you call them and waits for you at your conferences for the Illegal executives to get there... Blah Blah Blah... once again, if they don't directly work for you... How would you know that they are illegal?
Your legal workers must be so happy with an employer like you… once a month they get searched and asked for papers…
Tom sounds kind of bound up. Maybe his drug sales will drop now that his supplier is gone. Too bad Tom. Maybe he's going through withdrawl. Sorry Tom, I guess they ruined your day. Say, rub your nose, it looks like you've got some powdered sugar left there.
Here's a problem we need to solve..............how does the average citizens KNOW which of them are illegal? Let's face it, we do not get to see their ID's!
How do we identify them so we can turn the information over to the proper authorities? Will the DEA, FBI, and DoHLS, please put this kind of information in a prominant place on their websites!
let your racist instincts tell you... if they look a little brown or have black hair that's your shot... call Ice, the FBI, CIA, DEA, THE NAVY SEALS and have them all come to your rescue because the illegal aliens are picking up the tomatoes that you wanted to pick up.
And what kind of Hispanic am I?... Go ahead call me Mexican... urrrrrrrrr your wrong but anyways... don't waste your time here go call ICE... Lady I don't love illegals but I respect them as human beings... under the eyes of god we are all the same... It would suck if one day your hispanic children or even your Hispanic husband were harassed by ICE and asked to produce papers because they are believed to be illegal, not and ID because that's not good enough, having a state ID doesn't make you legal... you think that the fact that they speak English is gonna get the off the hook... noooooh lady, that's not enough there are Illegal living in the US since they were 2 months old and now they are 25 and still can not get papers, speak English better then all of us put together and did not jump the boarder.
Stop being racist… Does your Lopez last named husband look like George Lopez because right there you have an example of illegals, that’s how they look like.
tomas-melloni-Render then to Caesar those things that are Caesar's...
In other words we are obligated to obey the civil law as well as the secular law. The problem with illegals are many, but the most unfair issue to those of their own nationality is that they block the ones coming here legally in oh so many ways. They are cheating their own.
Thank you! Very informative! I will keep that phone number on hand......I've seen a few over the last couple of years that I suspected and will most definitly make the phone call from now on!
Tomas-melloni, I notice that you seem you frequently use the word racist toward anyone you feel does not agree with your views. The problem is that you have not really given any real views that I have seen as to what you consider a racist.
Let me give you some insights. I live in a small town in Arizona about six blocks from the Mexican border. Almost every night you can hear illegals running through the alleys behind mine and my neighbors houses at 2 or 3 in the morning. You know this because the neighborhood dogs will bark up a storm and the Border Patrol will be cruising the streets and the alleys. If you live on the border like I do, you get to have a pretty good idea who is illegal and who is not by the way they dress, walk, and act. The clothing is usually shabby in appearance. The walk is a tired shuffle. And the look is one of fear in the eyes, which are usually downcast and will not look you in the eyes. Many of my neighbors have been victims of home invasions by illegals that have been caught in the act. Most of the people suffering the home invasions living close to the border fence are Mexican/Americans themselves, and they don't want illegals around. I am retired millitary. I am a proud American and a patriot. The illegal situation has to be addressed but it is a mutifold problem that has to be worked out between Mexico and the United States. I do not want illegals in this country simply because they are here illegally! Let them enter the country the way so many of my neighbors did. They came here legally, became good productive citizens who don't want illegals here either.
And, as a final note, before you decide to call me a racist, I happen to be of mixed Mexican/American descent, with emphasis on the American. Have a nice day.
I'm sorry that you go through that... I too think that the immigration problem has to be resolved and I can understand how you feel... but the people you are talking about are the ones crossing, right at the moment when they are crossing... the ones that I'm talking about are the ones who already are here, who have families here, who their sons were born here or were brought here when they were little... I'm not Mexican but I'm Hispanic and to many people any Hispanic is a Mexican, I bet that many times even you see one and you think about that Mexican instead of that Hispanic.... anyways... There is no way that any regular Citizen can know who is legal and who isn’t, even if someone doesn’t have an ID it could be that he lost it or whatever… they don’t bother me at all, I have never had a job loss because of them, they have never done anything against me and if it was up to me I’ll make it easy for them to come out of the shadows, they’re here anyways. This article had nothing to do with illegals and a few racists turned it into an immigrant hate fest. To all of the F--- you.
SWEET! Now this is real police work. Maybe the cops in Columbia, SC can take a lesson here.....Breaking up a 20 something pot ring is not real police work!
They are not shut down. And will be back in full swing next week. As long as there is a demand they will supply it. If you really want this problem to go away then you HAVE TO legalize. End of story.
Welcome back from the cave King George. Let me answer that for Puck...
Tomorrow Obama should legalize CANNABIS (marijuana, pot, grass, weed, ganja, and mary-jane are some of it's vulgar/racist slang terms...if you're not familiar with the proper terminology), and of course, use HEMP and all it's rich byproducts to get this country and world back on track.
Once everyone agrees what a great idea that was, you can move on to legalizing 'magic mushrooms.'
You have to be 18 to partake (the drinking law needs to be dropped to 18 as well), and obviously, NO SMOKING/TRIPPING WHILE DRIVING!!!
After that...Spartanacus will be a happy camper...but if things are going great, but there is potential to do better, we may want to legalize certain other less harmful drugs and at least decriminalize, to some extent, the hard/dangerous stuff, mostly so we don't feel obliged to lock addicts up, and instead send them to rehab, and then out on their own...and if they want to ruin their lives or kill themselves with the hard stuff...then who are we to tell them they can't do that?
George King - I would legalize everything. Take the money out of it and the crime goes away. Then supply the junkies with their fixes. Whether you legalize or not, there are junkies, users, and abusers. There is no other way to stop the drug gangs I tell you. As long as there is thatmuch money it they will supply it. Look to Amsterdam for how well it works for them. Their crime is pretty tame. And the junkies even quit thieving.
Way to go DEA!! So we arrested a bunch of people involved in drug trafficking...This won't stop the problem. The prohibition of narcotics is what creates the violence, money and dangers for our country. The 755 suspects and related contraband that were confiscated (or whatever amounts the DEA wants to release to make it sound AMAZINGLY successful) will easily be replaced. You can't stop this until either you wipe out the millions of Americans using these substances or you legalize and regulate them. To me, legalization, regulation and taxation is the obvious choice. As humans, we haven't changed in the past two thousand years in wanting to use substances to escape and we're not going to change anytime soon. The utter failure of the drug war continues to reap havoc on this country as we spend $50 billion a year and show no success. Just because the DEA rounded up these guys doesn't mean cocaine or pot is going to be harder to purchase. It only means the price is going up in the short term which continues the cycle. Higher prices = more cash for the cartels. The simple laws of economics will prove this to be another blip on the screen for the drug war. Wake up and learn from history folks. Prohibition of alcohol didn't work and it won't work for drugs. All we get from the drug war is violence, death and more people locked up in our country. It's no wonder we have the largest prison population in the world and yet we can't afford to house them anymore. The DEA has once again shown how utterly stupid it is. Maybe some day we'll take a less violent and more simple approach to this problem by investing in harm reduction and treatment instead of putting our citizens behind bars. The DEA is responsible for the violence because they create the higher prices by enforcing our countries antiquated drugs laws.
The only way I would ever agree to legalization of drugs is if those that make that decision first give up their children to CPS, and secondly get sterilized so they had no more. Otherwise, forget it.
Glad to see the arrests. Now they should make sure that the DEA is afforded 10% of the cash taken to provided bonuses for the agents involved. Then we could call it justice and stimulus.
If this article is about anti-narcotics and not justifying a budget I'll swim the colorado river. Ooops thats illegal !
Sixteen months of work by the police and the only net cartel people from one cartel? What about the street gangs in the US where the real money ends up and all the other foreign mobs that operate here? What about the infiltration of Islamic conspirators raising cash and building safe houses right under the PC politicians noses? What about the jails full of illegals who come here to ply their trade? The Sinaloans are simply the product of a wide open border and that is the source for funding of all the other lawless elements among us.
I also thought somthing was a little fishy about the claim that the arrest were all from the Sinaloans.Could our own DEA and Mexican officials have been tricked by another larger drug cartel so that their competing cartel(Sinaloans)would no longer cut into the profit margin?
Sure, your fences will hinder undocumented immigrants that come over looking for work opportunities, but the cartels still come in anyway. They come in legally through the border and bring the drugs with them.
The only reason you're shouting for fences is because your don't want anymore Mexican nationals in your neighborhood. At least be honest and don't play stupid. We know what's up.
I am with whomever you are ranting at. I don't want any more illegals in my freakin country. How's that for honesty. Shoot to kill. Won't need a fence.
Take it down a notch. Executing a top drug dealer is fine, he had to murder his way to the top. Killing some poor schmuck that's looking to take a job, is evil.
Did anyone hear about the Mexican legislators that came across the border to go complain to American authorities in Tucson? It seems the Mexican government is concerned about the large number of illegal migrant workers that are returning to Mexico without money because of the downturn in the economy. It seems the Mexican goverment and infrastructure can't handle the surge of returning migrants and the Mexican government wants us to stop sending them back! This is for real folks. They want us to keep the illegals here because they can't afford them!
Mego. I'm sorry, I should have explained further. Some illegals live part time in Arizona and supplement their sometimes meager U.S. earnings running drugs for the cartels. They actually make more money from the cartels but the common thread is that almost all the money goes back home to Mexico. If they cannot maintain jobs here they have to go back to Mexico.
Great start. 20-40 million more and then we are talking. Bet this is the end of it. Administration wants to show they are tough. It will be all gone in a week.
Will pigs fly, first? Probably so!
She would have to give up her maids and landscapers..
eric - LOL- true dat!
Secular Progressive movement.? Don't you mean taking the peoples train to socialism?
eric-356095
She would have to give up her maids and landscapers..
More important she would looooooose the votes to put her in office again.
Pelosi is a idiots and some day the american people will take their country back.
tomas-melloni
Your the pig. You got some nerve tlking bad about our hard working agents, by smearing thier names with pointless assumtions.
Filth.
*edit* I don't endorse the part where thomas-melloni suggests the cops were corrupt.
What? You really think that they don't send it back into the streets and keep the money for themselves? How many evidence gets lost from the evidence room or never arrives?
tomas-melloni
You just showed your own hypocrisy. You call racism on every post that mentions illegals or assume they are all Mexican. But it's OK to assume all the cops involved in this were dirty?
Shammy, shammy, you've been busted!
happysocialist985
And while were at it, lets do away with age restrictions on every thing!
And spend Billions to open up more clinics to help all the new addicts clean up.
And lets hire more and more local police, b/c all those new addicts will have to get, not earn, money from someone elses home.
Yes! Finally good news! Good for the USA and for Mexico!
We still have a long battle with this violent drug cartel, but any hit against them is still a hit, and will hurt them!
God Bless them with this war against drugs!
More importantly, California would become solvent again.
?
On the argument that drugs should be legalized:
Nancy pelosi is a space alien and uses the illegal aliens for food
Steech-
Your #1.24 comment was very well argued. I wish I could vote twice.
Thank you, Mego.
Yea but a mine field like the DMZ with fences and patrols would.
To all of those AGENTS,,, GOOD JOB!! THANK YOU!
WAKE UP AMERICA!!
Steech,
Lucky that they are AT LEAST in prison in the U.S. and not in Mexico. Nor can a society struggling to develop and legitimize itself as a major player in the world economy.
legalize some things and youll put these people outta business.
Florida Bobster: BUILD THE FENCE.....
How about the US constructs LONG electric fence conveyer belts that dumps them back over the borders into Mexico...there's an idea
the "FENCE" is a joke... and has NOTHING to do with this article.
on the subject of the "FENCE".. clearly not a soul could scale or tunnel under or just ram right through it. your an idiot to think that the "FENCE" was even remotely a good idea or a good way to spend our money, when clearly there are other venues and options that should be investigated with that throw away money.
shame on us for thinking we can stop the rich and "powerful" from having their servants. I lol
if we are to do anything we MUST get stricter, meaner, and more unrelenting, and it starts at the top first kiddies.
They should make it an electric fence.
Hopefully, you won't be one of them when the "cartel" hits the streets in your town!!!
steech,
Careful now, locking them up in a far away place like Minnesota?
Can u please tell me where I can find that article? 72 times, my a$$.
At a press conference announcing the arrests, Holder also suggested that re-instituting a U.S. ban on the sale of assault weapons would help reduce the bloodshed in Mexico, where last year 6,000 people were killed in drug-related violence.
no border patrol more gun control.
More lies...
I heard California wants to interview these prisoners so they can help set up the drugs for taxes program that will 'save' their state!!!!!
I see a distinction between protection and overkill and can see no positive benefit to overkill.
build the fence and they well build a taller ladder so much for your high priced fence
Escaza,
Thanks for commenting.
Hey Florida Bobster,,
I'm in the construction business here in Maryland.
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
harley121, regarding the above quote from your comment #2.1:
Did Homeland Security refuse to go after the subcontractor's business for knowingly hiring illegal aliens? Also, did they state why they do not respond directly to construction sites?
Of course this is a digression a bit from the drug trade. I do empathize more for hard-working laborers in the construction area who endure much to come here than I do for drug dealers -- even though I oppose illegal immigration.
three illegal aliens live at 742 s. belden st. rialto, calif.
Call the nearest FBI office............you can do it anonymously!
Yeah dude, that was creepy.
I say we ought to take this to the extremes...Send addressess to Obama's website and on here as well as turning them into the INS..
Go figure!
Eric,
Good Idea, wrong website.............DEA should set up a website were people can submit addresses of homes or businesses where illegals live or work!
Florida Bobster
shocking, no realy I'm stunned, a polotition lied to get elected.
Florida Bobster,
So what your saying, is it's up to the CITIZENS of this country to take care of the problem!
Just by it's looks? is the only way that I can think of because if not you have no way to know... if they were to set up that website people would play pranks on people and then ICE would be knocking in your door every night.
tired: I would be willing to help that effort, I also know a lot of fed-up Washingtonians that would also help...
Does anyone know where this tomas-melloni lives? I bet he's an illegal, and probably a drug smuggler.
That's right Tom... I'm moving kilos carnal.
tom...when tomas is not drug smuggling he is laying pine-straw!!! But, one thing is for sure!!! tomas is definitely collecting SSI and Medicaid!!!
Yeah... I go by many names... Margaret Johnson, Ted Thompson, Jim Jones and more... I'll be getting all my SSI checks on the 3rd.
True but the site would probably crash due to many hits at once. ;)
Lewis Tree service here in PA has LOTS of illegals working for them as well as Halliburton Tree farms, he even houses them on his property
Legalize it take the crime out of it. How much do we spend on stopping it? Tax it . Man do I wish I had a good GOVT grown doobie.
It's not the pot, so much as the Cocaine and Heroine coming across..
Ok, so we caught a few. Arrest, Try and Convict. New charge: "Crimes Against Humanity". If proven it provides availability of the death sentence. Execute them, hang on the border at border crossings. SENDS A MESSAGE.
Now we know what to do with gitmo.
GOOD! Now stand them all up against a wall and execute them!!! 1 machine gun should do the trick! Then hang their bodies at the border as an example!
Actually, that idea sounds like a good plan for the Board of Director's for both AIG and CitiCorp!!!
#5 The Iraqi's did this to some of our own, remember, and we didn't like it too much. Do you have any other stupid thoughts?
Ted C.,
Do you have any better ideas? These people are CRIMINALS: Theives and Murderers, who push drugs on our children and cost the US billions of dollars every year while our own tax paying citizens are slowly being starved to death.
So, HOW ABOUT IT.........LET'S GET SOME IDEAS FROM YOU!
dam tired of this
That would be the US GOVERNMENT and the COPS.
Or more to the point, Citgo
They mentioned they were part of a Mexican drug cartel. Let's call it an intuitive leap.
or racism.
tomas: You speak english so I assume you are legal...
Right, that's the only thing that makes me legal, if I spoke any other language I'll be fu**ed.
This article was never about illegals, it's about drugs...
No...
It was about the succefull arrest of 755 members of a single Mexincan drug cartell.
Your birth certificate or your papers make you legal.
"...besides not all immigrants are criminals."
You are right not all immigrants are criminals, but all illegal immigrants are.
tomas...what's your SSN?
He probably has your SSN.. $50 on the corner down the street..
Which one you want, I got many...
Happy - How do you know they are illegals ? Have they told you so ? Have you checked their documents ? Or do they just "look" illegal ?
Thomas. Whether they are illegal or not, they will get deported, at some time, back to their own country where they can take up business as usual.
Regarding your last sentence......... we have plenty of the same that are home grown.
Ted C.,
Why are you so concerned about these criminals? Could it be YOU are one of them???
Finally a smart person in this blogg... I was getting tired of arguing with the same idiots. No pun intended.
tomas/Kat, do you guys know where I can get some good salsa or queso?
"He's(sic) a little statistic that you won't see very much of 44% of our military is made up of minorities"
Check your facts, your off by about 10%. Granted this is 7 years old, but I'm pretty sure it has not changed too much.
Here is info about new recruits and their demographic make up. More recent but pretty much the same.
Here are the links that got cut off my last post
WAY TO GO DEA!!!!!!!!!
That's what I'm talking about!!! Those 700 dirt bags will rat out 2 freinds and so on and so on.
That's a job WELL DONE!!
One of the sweet juicy parts about this is those that are not American citizens, don't have any rights. Maybe "we can" find a use for GTMO afterall. Muh ha ha!!
Once again... How do you know that there are no U.S Citizens involved? Racist, Racist, Racist.
Do whatever you want with them but don't blame the immigrant community for something you are unsure about.
READ IT CAREFULLY!!
I will copy/paste for you;
those that are not American citizens
It was a sweep of a Mexican drug cartel, only a fool would think that some of them won't be illegals.
racist is not the term that applies where citizenship is the issue. Also racist has become such an abused appellation that its use is meaningless and sometimes even complimentary. So have at it, bro!
White people think that the word is meaningless; to the rest of us... boyyyyy that word has more meaning than anything else. SO HAVE IT, BRO!
Tomas-
To clarify the definition of a racist:
Well then White Holly... tell me... how do you feel about the word racism... change my mind.
My friends who are chinese can say they are proud asians, and my latino friends can have latino clubs and say they are proud latinos, but I am the one...the white girl in the group...who will be looked at as racist if I were to say I'm proud to be white, and that I'd like to start a white pride club...now please tell me whose racist.
tomas-melloni
Well then White Holly... tell me... how do you feel about the word racism... change my mind.
My personal opinion of a racist is a person that wants to blame a whole race for something they think is wrong or they don't like. I think each and every person should be judged on themselves and not sex, color, religion or even weight or hair style. And I am sorry but you sound like you don't like the entire white race. Am I right or wrong?
Thomas-melloni
I'm still waiting on a response to my post on how you feel about white history month vs. black history month and so on....still waiting ....tick tock.
Go back and read the article again. This is about a drug cartel from Mexico, and the Illegal Drugs. There were only 165 weapons so this is not a gun conrtol issue but, Joe Biden will make it one. Watch and see. (and round 2 of the bank bailout begins.).
uwgirl:
We have "White History Month" 11 months out of the year...........do you guys need more? *LOL*
mizdelight:
Somehow you managed to miss my entire point, yet validate my point all at the same time, so I guess....thank you for that :)
uwgirl:
Hmmmm......Thanks back......I guess
I'll leave it like that because you sound like the type of person that no matter what answer you received.......you still wouldn't understand.
uwgirl
I didn't have time yesterday to reply to you... now... you can do any club you want and call it whatever you want, is not what you do but how you do it... when a Latin or a black person start a Latin or Black pride club we don't do it to HATE on other races we don't sit there to discuss how Fuc*ed we are because of this and the other, we actually share food, dance, and do fun stuff now... the last time I checked you alls white pride club was the KKK and it didn't do to well, the burning and beating up people part messed everything up.
So there you have it... start a club and remember is not what you do but how you do.
tomas-melloni
Tomas does this statement mean you think all white people are part of the KKK. If you do then this is what I was referring to as putting an entire race in one box. To me that is racist. Judge each person on his or her personality and how they treat you, not on their sex, color, religion and or hair style, weight or anything that may make them """look"""" different.
I'm still waiting on an answer to my question to you about you not liking the entire "white" race or is it just the American "white" race?
gmainco
I hope that answered your question.
Is "Illegal" a race????????
Send them to GTMO.
common senz
See, that's what gets me mad... where did you get that 40% number from? I need the source right now... Tic Toc I'm waiting... I know you will not be able to produce one because you made the number up in your head...
to you the numbers are 40% illegal aliens, 60% blacks and that's it, that makes up our criminal system... Ignorant.
still waiting... Tic Toc.
For Tic Toc read Koo Coo
whatever you say, I'm still waiting.
Tomas - you'll be waiting until whiskers grow from your butt.
tomas-melloni
Ever think he's not here anymore?
nohhh he just doesn't know the answer....
Actually,
17% of inmates serving time in the Federal Prison system are illegal aliens (2004 statistic) at which time, illegal aliens made up approx.
Okay 5% sounds more like it not 40%... as I said before people in these bloggs are always making up numbers which is a very republican thing.
The latest estimates only show increases of between 2% and 4%.
They won't be sent home. They will be tried here. They were not arrested b/c they were illegals, they were picked up b/c they are drug dealers.
There are ways to solve these problems. HARSH WAYS that the ACLU and bleeding heart liberals won't like, but they would get the job done.
Apparently our welfare system here does not provide enough for illegals so they have to turn to drug dealing to subsidize our lack of generosity.
Our welfare system provides a home and food. If the beggars want more, get a job, any job, even if they don't like it.
Sorry Edwin, I was being extremely sarcastic. I agree with you. But I am just one of those guys that would be embarassed to take a hand out and dumb enough to take pride in supporting my family.
We need a special button to indicate sarcasm.
It does seem to be becoming a tradition to work the welfare system.
Allan Michael
Your a good example of a religious racists. You are baseing your theory on something you think happen 100 years ago and you want to blame everyone that happens to be Episcopalian, Jew or Catholic whether they had anything to do with your family or not.
Again please judge each person on their own personality and how they treat you not their sex, color, religion and/or hair style, weight or anything that makes them look a little different.
Journalism major:
Someone who doesn't have enough comprehension of basic science to be able to report figures in consistent units. Pounds? Kilograms? Make up your mind!
GOD BLESS AMERICA - Let's get every illegal out of here, by whatever means necessary.
1-866-347-2423 ICE. Call if you even suspect someone is here illegally. If they're legal they don't need to worry.
What does ICE stand for?
Immigration & Customs Enforcement.
I am in an industry that draws illegals, so I send out a letter to ALL suppliers and subcontractors. It reads like this:
WARNING to all vendors: My company name abides by Federal and State Immigration laws.
Tomas-aka illegal lover-I don't have to know, all I have to do is suspect. As I said below, the LEGAL immigrants, usually Mexican, tip us off.
My lowest paid contractor makes $1000 per week.
I am not allowed to ask for papers, and by the way, I've NEVER been wrong when we called ICE. NOT EVER.
It's not your job to know. ICE doesn't want you to handle this.
I've never, ever been wrong when I have called ICE.
I am not allowed to ask for status papers
Use your instincts. Certain jobs, fast food, construction, janitorial (I called on a mall food court, 5 gone) etc.
They don't assimilate, speak English, etc.
If you SUSPECT they are illegal. Call.
I just want to add one thing, I'm not usually on the job sites. The LEGAL immigrants, usually Mexican, tip us off to the illegals.
let your racist instincts tell you... if they look a little brown or have black hair that's your shot... call Ice, the FBI, CIA, DEA, THE NAVY SEALS and have them all come to your rescue because the illegal aliens are picking up the tomatoes that you wanted to pick up.
Good luck with that one, Tomas aka illegal lover, my married name is Lopez.
My husband is Hispanic, just not Hispanic like you. Hispics like you damage good, honest hardworking, legal Hispanics.
Slither back across the border anchor boy.
Bev,
Thank you! Very informative! I will keep that phone number on hand......I've seen a few over the last couple of years that I suspected and will most definitly make the phone call from now on!
Thomas melloni,
Bull!! Stop defending these criminals!
I agree. Let's respect ALL people. Let's just respect them ACROSS THE BORDER where they came from.
Ed-NavDoc
Another fine waste of taxpayer money thanks to "La Raza" of Mexico!! Phuck "La Raza"!!!!
They are not shut down. And will be back in full swing next week. As long as there is a demand they will supply it. If you really want this problem to go away then you HAVE TO legalize. End of story.
I agree, Puck. Unfortunately, I think there are some in power who don't want that, and it's not because they object to drugs.
Exactly what would you legalize?
Eric
What makes you think swimming across the Colorado River is illegal?
He obviously does not know his geography.
Bob
What does #27.3 have to do with cartels and drug busts?
This all started under Bush. So a doubt it's political. obama might spin it, but I don't think so.
Guess again Edwin! It started long before Bush. As someone who grew up on the Mexican border where most of the drugs come through, I know!
